In this Instructable, I will explain how to use a simple double pole, double throw (DPDT) switch to select series or parallel wiring for two loads on one power source. Wiring two loads in series will provide the full current available to both loads but only half of the available voltage, whereas, wiring the two loads in parallel will provide each load with the full available voltage, but only half of the available current. Using this switch can effectively allow you to choose two power settings for your two sources. In the case of light bulbs, this can give you a bright or dim setting, without needing two different wattage bulbs. This uses the simplest Double Pole Double Throw switch. This requires nothing more than the switch and some creative wiring. Please note that the "off" position only works if you have a "center off" switch! A DPDT relay can easily be substituted if you have one. If you want a 'struct' on this, leave me comments. Please note that this instructable is intended to go with another of my instructables. if you purchase one, you have more options as there are many out there. Both are most often DPDT switches. Don't forget to steal the motors or sometimes linear actuators out of the seat adjusters, if you can!!!!Broken stereos commonly have one or two switches in themIf you salvage a switch, the first thing I would do is test ACROSS the switch to be sure it is double pole. I have a project where I will have (80) 3,2VDC 90 AH Life YPO4 cells that I would like to set up to be in one of two configurations.
The first configuration would be 2 parallel strings of 40 cells each for 128 Volts and 180 Ah (23 kWh) of capacity.
The second configuration would be 5 parallel strings of 16 cells each for 51 Volts and (5x90=450) Ah (23 kWH) of capacity.
Maximum load will be 16 kW at 120 VDC (130 Amps) for config. 1

Not sure if you still commenting on this really AWESOME instructable, but I am having a problem. I saw your instructable and I was really excited to trick out my son jeep hurricane power wheel. I added two 12v12Ah batteries and wanted the option of running the batteries in parallel and series so they could run it for awhile or tear it up at 24v. I bought a bandc marine dpdt switch and wired everything as you described (swapping batteries for motors in your diagram) and the 12v works but can get the 24v to work. The question I have is I regards to your diagram, everything works in the 1 4 or position, but in the 3 6 or position the switch doesn work. The switch has a 7th pin, so maybe that has something to do with it. Please help!

That exactly what I do. I switch it to parallel and hook my shumacher charger up. Keep in mind that it will take twice as long but when charging in parallel. However the shumacher is way better than the PW charger and will shut off when full.

Not sure if you still commenting on this really AWESOME instructable, but I am having a problem. I saw your instructable and I was really excited to trick out my son jeep hurricane power wheel. I added two 12v12Ah batteries and wanted the option of running the batteries in parallel and series so they could run it for awhile or tear it up at 24v. I bought a bandc marine dpdt switch and wired everything as you described (swapping batteries for motors in your diagram) and the 12v works but can get the 24v to work. The question I have is I regards to your diagram, everything works in the 1 4 or position, but in the 3 6 or position the switch doesn work. The switch has a 7th pin, so maybe that has something to do with it. Please help!

That exactly what I do. I switch it to parallel and hook my shumacher charger up. Keep in mind that it will take twice as long but when charging in parallel. However the shumacher is way better than the PW charger and will shut off when full.

Sentencing adjourned for man charged in fatal hit
JERSEY CITY The sentencing of a man who fatally struck a 7 year old girl with an SUV in West New York in February 2016 was adjourned at the last minute Friday because his lawyer could not attend.
Fabian Rodriguez, 33, of Newark, was to be sentenced for leaving the scene of an accident resulting in the death of Shaila Pichardo, 7, at Van Buren Place at 61st Street on Feb. 19, 2016. He faces up to 11 years in prison. Hudson County Superior Court Judge Mark Nelson told those gathered in court that he received a call from an Essex County judge who told him Rodriguez's lawyer could not make it because she is representing a client at trial in Newark.
In December, Rodriguez also pleaded guilty to endangering an injured victim by leaving the scene while the girl's mother had suffered significant injuries and was helpless.
At his plea hearing, Rodriguez admitted that after striking the mother and child he got out of the vehicle, saw the fatally wounded fake van cleef and arpels diamond necklace girl, got back into the SUV and fled the scene.

Should you spring for a tablet PC

Many tablets also respond to the touch of your fingers.
Other than that they do pretty much everything a laptop can. They can run your standard Windows operating systems like Vista and XP and run any programme that you can on a regular laptop. Don't forget to mention your name, designation and photograph.
Advantages of tablets
The biggest advantage is probably the ability to write on the tablet screen using the stylus. For some types of information, for example, equations, diagrams and charts, writing remains a much more flexible way of recording information compared to the keyboard and mouse.
With a tablet and the right software (usually already loaded) you can enter your notes just as you would in a paper notebook. Moreover, on a tablet you can store thousands of pages of notes and you can search them just as you can text files.
Basically, if you are a person who writes a lot of notes on paper, a tablet PC could be the perfect solution, greatly reducing the clutter in your office and home.
The touch interface on tablets is convenient for performing basic tasks as well like flipping through photo and music collections or editing photos. Touch controls are also great for playing games: for example musical games where you play an instrument by tapping the screen.
Disadvantages of tablets
The main disadvantage is cost. Typically a tablet PC might cost you around Rs 10,000 more than a similar laptop. Further, some tablet screens have a somewhat hazy look because of the touchscreen layer. screen is constantly being touched and written on, which may cause damage in the long run.
