Scientists discover 'world's oldest fossils' in Canada

Remains of microorganisms at least 3.77 billion years old have been found encased in quartz layers in northern Quebec's Nuvvuagittuq Supracrustal Belt, in Canada.

The research team behind the discovery is made up of international scientists and led by a team at University College London (UCL).

UCL's Matthew Dodd said the tiny fossils half the width of a human hair and up to half a millimetre in length lived near a vent in the seafloor where water was heated by a volcano.

The fossils could be older than the 3.7 billion years assigned to some other rock features found in fake van cleef and arpels bracelet Greenland, which were proposed to be fossils in August last year.

The key question with fossil discoveries is whether the rock features were produced by living organisms.

Some scientists are sceptical about the imitation van cleef & arpels bangle latest discovery.

Martin J Van Kranendonk, of the University of New South Wales in Australia, who reported the Greenland findings, said that the UCL findings are "not fossils".

He added that the paper's evidence for a biological origin fell short.

NASA geologist Abigail Allwood said the study was "one of the most detailed cases yet made" for evidence of life in rocks older replica van cleef and arpels bangle than 3.5 billion years but added that it was "an extraordinary claim to make and you do need extraordinary evidence".

Star Reportedly Leaves Instagram Over Body Shaming Update

Josh McDermittrecently left social media due to online abuse, and now Alanna Masterson has apparently done the same. The BBC reports that Masterson deleted her Instagram account over body shamingthis week.

The actress, known as Tara Chambler on "The Walking Dead," gave birth to her daughter, Marlowe, before the latest season started filming. She went right back to work and was subjected to intense online abuse after being featured on an episode late last year.

Dear Instagram trolls, body shamers, and the men and woman who think it's ok to comment on my weight: I hope that you don't have children. And if you do, I hope you teach them about kindness and acceptance. I hope they learn that it isn't ok to make fun of people or van cleef black clover necklace copy call people names. I hope one day YOU learn what it takes to be a parent. A kind, selfless parent. A working parent. A parent that puts themselves in someone else's shoes. Maybe you can't get it through your thick fucking skull, but nursing a baby for a year (and pumping in a van between takes, in the dead of summer in Georgia) is a lot of work, determination, and scheduling. So before you decide to make a comment about my chest being "too large" or how "fat" I've become, just know that this little girl got the best start to life. I wouldn't have changed it for a second. I would've gladly continued to eat enough calories to produce milk for her little bones to grow. Also, grow the fuck up. Your mother should be ashamed for raising such a judgmental bully. I'm sure she knows how "courageous" you must be for trolling and hiding behind your Iphone and computers. I would LOVE van cleef pearl necklace fake to see any man or woman give birth to a baby, nurse the baby, and then work 17 hour days and NAIL their own stunts. Be kind to each other. We need it now more than ever.

At the time,McDermittcame to his co star's aid, telling HuffPost, "People need to chill the F out with the crap that they're putting on the internet."

The actor later left his social media accounts after receiving death threats for his character's van cleef and arpels heart necklace imitation storyline on the show. It appears Masterson is following in her co star's footsteps, although the actress remains active on Twitter.

Surviving A Divorce For Men

Men begin with an emotional disadvantage when it comes to relationships and their failure. I think the general misconception is we are supposed to brush off these negative feelings and not be affected by heartbreak. If we show our emotions, we are weak and it can be emasculating.

We are the bad guy out of the gate. Whatever the issue may be, we seem to be blamed for the falling out. That is when I realized surviving a divorce for men can almost become literal. We face the knock off van cleef and arpels heart necklace feeling and incorrectly receive perception from the outside that it was our fault, when in fact, it is not true.

My divorce was the end of my relationship with the woman I had married. Once I understood this and viewed my divorce as a death to that relationship, I began to understand the natural van cleef alhambra mother of pearl necklace imitation flow of what mourning should be and it helped me find a way to recovery.

Surviving a divorce for men can be so difficult. Many times you may feel yourself caught up in unfamiliar feelings. You may simply just not understand what is happening. There are so many emotions you are going to go through, it helps to have a "road map" on the general flow of these feelings.

Denial: You don't believe this is happening. There is simply a misunderstanding and everything is going to be ok. You may just brush it off with an "it will pass" thought. Many of us fear change and the uncertainty that comes knock off van cleef style necklace along with it.

Anger/Resentment: This powerful stage can cause more problems for you if you act on emotion rather than logic. It will be important to stop often and think things through right now. You wouldn't want to do anything that may hurt you later on.

Bargaining: The back and forth feeling of excitement and disappointment can be present. "If I do this, then that will happen", so you get excited because of "this", then "that" never happens. We try to use bargaining as a tool to get back what we think we have lost.

Depression: When all else has failed, we begin to draw inward and may look at ourselves as the problem, when this not true at all. Depression can be a very dangerous stage. If you feel overwhelmed by your emotions by now, perhaps professional counseling would be an option.

Acceptance: The wonderful feeling and realization of what is, is. It may feel that it is going to take forever to get here, but it does eventually come. And when you finally feel that relief from acceptance, you will know it is possible to move on.

As you progress through these stages, you will have a tendency to jump back and forth between them, going from depression, to anger, to bargaining then depression again. This is normal and expected. Just understand this is the natural process that your recovery is going to take.

Surviving a divorce for men will be one of the most difficult stages in your life. But there will always be a sense of accomplishment when you understand what you have gone through and how you can grow from life's experiences.

The Benefits of Having Your Own Moving Truck

After living here and there for a few years, the time finally came for me to consolidate my things and move them all to one place. The problem? All of my things had ended up in Boulder, Colo., and I live in Brooklyn. That meant I needed a moving truck, and moving trucks can be pretty pricey to rent for a cross country move.

Mulling over my dilemma, I came to some conclusions. First, renting a U Haul truck would cost more than $1,000. Second, because U Haul won't rent cargo vans for trips that long, the resulting box truck would be getting terrible gas mileage. (When I had moved from Virginia to California years ago, I kept track of the fuel economy on the box truck I was driving, which hovered from 7 to 10 miles per gallon.) Third, I'd have to give back the truck after spending all that money on it, which equates throwing money out the window on a breezy day.

It was a simple idea, really. I could see on the Denver Craigslist ads that it would be pretty easy to get a used Econoline van for less than $1,200. I'm a pretty decent mechanic, so I figured that with a small tool set on board, I'd be able to keep the thing running across two thirds of the continent. Upon arrival in the Big Apple, I could then unpack my things and sell the van for the same price I'd bought it for or a little more to a vendor or service worker in need of a strong running, rust free Western vehicle.

I was going save a ton of money on this move.

But that skill with tools comes from an affinity for old cars, and prudence quickly gave way to fancy. The long lists on Craigslist and eBay of drab white Econolines that would undoubtedly have been suitable for my move and for subsequent duty with a New York food vendor began to morph into searches for "Chevrolet pickup" and "Suburban" and, worse yet, "full size wagon." I began looking for vehicles from the '90s, but as the days wore on, '90s became '80s. Soon, the clock swung to the '70s.

Luckily, I found what I was looking for in a more reasonable guise. It was a light blue 1980 Chevrolet 3/4 ton pickup with the sort of patina you only see in the West. A rust colored haze peeked out from beneath its faded blue paint here and there. It had a 350 cubic inch V 8, 4 speed manual transmission and a single 4 by 10 speaker in the middle of the dash for listening to its AM radio. The ad said it had exhaust headers, dual exhaust and glass pack mufflers. A burly steel mesh brush guard nearly as old as me adorned its front end. It appeared to be the perfect moving truck.

I called the owner Bob, a 69 year old Vietnam veteran who said that he had bought the truck as a project, but discovered that at his age, he could scarcely lift its heavy, 16.5 inch steel wheels off the ground to change a tire. That's when he knew it was time to move on. Sounded reasonable to me, so I talked him into holding on to the truck for a few days until I could get it. I was the first person to call, but he had that old school do the right thing Americana tinge to his voice that made me feel certain that he wouldn't sell it before I arrived on his doorstep.

My hunch about Bob turned out to be right, and the truck was sitting in his driveway when I showed up almost a week later. It looked just like it had in the photos. The bench seat, covered in blue houndstooth patterned vinyl, was only torn in few places, and as I slid into the driver's seat, turned the ignition key and listened to the engine roar to life, I knew I'd made a good choice. Besides, the flat sweep of the truck's wide dashboard, its round analog dials, its triangular vent windows, its impossibly long shifter handle and the commanding view from which I surveyed the world from the driver's seat all made me smile.

It takes awhile to drive through Kansas, and by the time I reached Topeka, it was night. The tarp I had tied to the top and sides of the stake bed with at least 20 pieces of nylon rope tied at odd angles and giving the truck a modern day "Beverly Hillbillies" appearance was in tatters. Keeping my speed at a conservative 60 miles per hour meant that the truck was getting more than 13 miles per gallon better than a U Haul box truck, in my experience but even at that speed, the force of rushing air had damaged the violently fluttering tarp.

So I stopped at a Home Depot in the suburbs outside of Topeka, chatting with a talkative man with huge sideburns, a sweet Midwestern lady and a soldier stationed at Fort Riley as I secured a new, heavier duty tarp to the bed with a $12 set of ratchet straps I'd bought at the store. The weather report was calling for rain to garnish the tornadoes, and I didn't want to risk my things getting wet. The resulting mutlitarp configuration was enough to have made Jed Clampett utter a "Dang" in admiration, and I was hopeful it would be sufficient for the rest of the drive.

As I pulled the last strap tight, the wind picked up. It wasn't like what I was used to, where it begins to blow steadily, getting a little stronger with each gust. This wind was violent, whipping up leaves and debris in impatient, angry jerks as a couple of lightning bolts streaked across the night sky.

I wanted to stay ahead of the worst part of the storm, so it was time to get going.

I drove nearly all night, heeding the meteorologist's report that the storm was moving east the same direction I was headed at 40 miles per hour. I pressed the gas pedal down a little deeper, picking up speed to 65. I didn't dare go faster in a fully loaded truck while the wind was so strong and unpredictable, but I had every intention of outrunning the cluster of tornados the radio said were hitting parts of the plains. At one point, I saw a 15 passenger van that had passed me earlier in a ditch on the median, pointed in the wrong direction; a good example of why not to drive too fast in a tall vehicle when it's windy.

I stopped for fuel in Kansas City, noting that the air was still once more. But again, as I put on the gas cap, the angry wind returned, kicking up dust and fear. I took off van cleef bracelet alhambra replica again on Interstate 70, slicing through Kansas City and out of the gustiest wind again.

After I'd driven out of the truculent air, a cloud of modified American sports cars began to form around me. They had all been driving much faster, but one by one they took position near one another. There were a couple of Mustangs, a Challenger, a Camaro; I braced myself for the inevitable. With the suddenness of the tornado whipped wind, they all took off down the dark highway with a roar, making it appear as though all the other vehicles on it myself included were standing still.

It wasn't until a few hours later, when I was too tired to drive further, that I stopped again. After buying more fuel, I drove down a darkened country road somewhere in Missouri looking for a place to spend the night. For a guy of my height, an old truck's bench seat makes a perfect bed, and I had stumbled upon a rural campground that would do just fine as a stopping place.

With no storm to occupy my thoughts the next day, I tuned the AM radio to something other than weather. There's really not much on AM radio anymore, and there's only so much Rush Limbaugh a person can listen to. I'm not sure what other people do on long drives when there's no music and no one else to talk to, but I sing. I started with individual songs and then graduated to entire albums. As I was singing Reb Tevye's "If I Were a Rich Man" foot stomping and fist shaking and all a family in a minivan pulled alongside, looking at me with "Should we call a doctor for you?" looks.

Because I was driving by myself, I stopped for reasons that a group traveling together would never agree to. I took pictures of the '49 Ford in the Kansas field. I stopped in Fairmont City, Ill. near East St. Louis looking for something to eat, and found some delightful Michoacn fare at a roadside stand set up near a cluster of buildings that looked abandoned. It was a Monday, and taking a stroll around town, I noted that there were quite a few young men sitting on porches, not working.

Eventually, I entered New Jersey, closing in on the home stretch. As the truck crested the last long ridge before beginning the descent toward Manhattan, the air changed, as did the airwaves. Cool, crisp air turned warmer and more humid, and all conservative talk radio all the time which I had switched back on just for something to break up the hum of large tires on asphalt faded as I swung the dial to WNYC and then to a station vacillating between Bachata and what sounded like Catholic sermons in Puerto Rican Spanish. The truck's barely muffled exhaust boomed as I accelerated out of the Holland Tunnel like a big, rusty bullet, and Manhattan's quiet nighttime streets offered an easy route van cleef arpels alhambra bracelet copy to the Brooklyn Bridge and home.

That trip was a few months ago, but I still haven't gotten around to selling the truck. Its spartan charm still makes me smile, and I like seeing it parked out on the street in front of my apartment building. It was also great for beach trips over the summer.

I didn't end up saving much money on the move, but neither did I spend much more than I would have on a U Haul. But I got something more out of it an experience that felt less sterile than the one size fits all aesthetic of rental van travel. The truck van cleef arpels alhambra bracelet replica an old farm vehicle now sitting on a cobblestone street in America's largest city had been the answer to my moving problem. But in its out of placeness, it has found a niche as a conversation piece. That, and I've never in my life had so many people ask me to help them move large objects.

The Last Prisoner of the Cold War

The following is a script from "The Last Prisoner" which aired on Nov. 29, 2015. Scott Pelley is the correspondent. Michael Rey and Oriana Zill de Granados, producers.

The new opening to Cuba would not have happened without an old fashioned swap. prisons. And the Cubans were holding an American named Alan Gross. government contractor who was setting up Internet connections in Cuba. But the Cuban government said he was a spy. It has been nearly a year since Gross became the lynchpin for the diplomatic breakthrough. But why was he there? And what were his years in prison like? This is the first interview with the last prisoner of the Cold War.

Alan Gross: They threatened to hang me. They threatened to pull out my fingernails. They said I'd never see the light of day. I had to do three things in order to survive, three things every day. I thought about my family that survived the Holocaust. I exercised religiously every day. And I found something every day to laugh at. government's going to get me out of here in the next week or so."

Alan Gross: Oh, I absolutely did for the first two weeks. And then I said to myself, "Where the hell are they? Where are they?" I didn't have any idea I'd be there for five years. I knew I was in trouble. I knew I was in trouble.

Alan Gross was attracted to trouble. He's 66, a native of Maryland, an electronics specialist who spent 20 years making the rounds of war and disaster setting up communications for relief agencies.

Alan Gross: And that's why we say when we, when we would connect, when we'd align the antenna and connect to the satellite, we'd be lighting the candle. We'd light her up. And we did that in a lot of places.

In 2008, the place was Cuba. Agency for International Development. USAID is America's charity, delivering aid all around the world. But in Cuba, its mission was different. USAID asked Gross to set up independent Internet connections for the Jewish community. Only five percent of Cubans were online. But bypassing government censorship was illegal. Still Gross put together an equipment list that would do just that. The key was a device called a "BGAN satellite modem" that made a direct connection to a satellite. On his first trip to Havana, he put a piece of tape over the Hughes 9201 model number and walked his equipment through the airport.

Scott Pelley: So once Cuban customs had cleared your equipment through on that very first trip, you concluded what from that?

Alan Gross: That bringing equipment into Cuba wasn't that difficult. They had every opportunity to stop me from bringing the equipment in, they knew what that equipment was and if they didn't, you know shame on them.

In the spring of 2009, he set up two systems at synagogues. But the people he was helping warned him about getting caught. Gross wrote to his supervisors that the project was "playing knock off van cleef and arpels perlee ring price with fire." It was on his third trip that he spotted trouble.

Alan Gross: I saw a van rolling down the street. And a gentleman was walking next to it with a whip antenna and it looked like a voltage meter, and essentially he was checking for radio transmissions. And he rolled right by the synagogue.

After that, Gross proposed to USAID that he add sophisticated equipment that could mask the BGAN location. And I still had a contract to fulfill.

"I do believe that access to information is a right for everyone, but I have never interfered or participated in any kind of political activity overseas." Scott Pelley: Look, you keep saying you had a contract to fulfill. That's not all that's going on here.

Alan Gross: No, that's it.

Scott Pelley: You believed in the work.

Alan Gross: I do believe that access to information is a knock off van cleef & arpels wedding ring right for everyone, but I have never interfered or participated in any kind of political activity overseas.

Scott Pelley: You were bringing free speech to an oppressed people under the nose of a government that did not want that to knock off van cleef and arpels perlee ring happen.

Alan Gross: Three billion people every day log on to the Internet around the world, how could that be circumventing the government? Now, it might sound a little bit naive. So I'm naive.

Scott Pelley: Mr. Gross, you can tell me that you.

Alan Gross: You can call me Alan.

Scott Pelley: Alan, you can tell me that you believed in what you were doing, but you can't tell me you didn't know what you were doing.

Alan Gross: I knew exactly what I was doing. I was setting up Internet connectivity for the Jewish community in Cuba. It was very simple, get 'em connected. That was it.

But it ceased to be simple on his fifth trip when four men pulled him out of his Havana hotel. He was driven to a police station where a man who seemed to be a doctor ordered him to take a pill he said was a sedative.

Alan Gross: So I took the pill, he gave me a juice box and as I'm drinking the juice box, swallowing the pill, he says, 'that's right, drink, drink." And I thought I was in an old Humphrey Bogart movie. And they took me to a hospital, they took my clothes, they gave me these striped pajamas.

Spain back on track as big guns hit the target

Europe's top teams took important steps towards next year's World Cup finals in Brazil with qualifying victories on Tuesday, notably world champions Spain who scored a hugely significant 1 0 win over France in Paris.

Netherlands, Germany and Italy also picked up three points but England, fourth in the world rankings, were held 1 1 in Montenegro after a bright start in which they scored first.

After a weekend of speculation about Spain knock off van cleef & arpels wedding ring losing their way on the road to Rio after a 1 1 home draw with Finland on Friday, their victory at the Stade de France steadied the nerves and put them back on top with 11 points, one more than France.

Pedro scored the only goal in the 58th minute after a scramble in front of goal and a desperate atetempt to keep the ball out by home keeper Hugo Lloris while France finished with 10 men after Paul Pogba was sent off 12 minutes from time.

Spain are now unbeaten in their last 50 World Cup qualifiers since March 1993 and coach Vicente Del Bosque was a happy man.

"This is a very important three points. It helps support the conviction we have in our ideas," he told Spanish TV. "Everyone has doubts at times.

"When they went down to ten men in theory it should have been easier for us, but this is when we perhaps had the most problems. The team played like men today."

Netherlands steamed to a sixth straight qualifying win in this campaign and a 14th overall when they thumped Romania 4 0 in Amsterdam with Robin van Persie scoring twice.

The Dutch moved on to 18 points, seven clear at the top of Group D, after second placed Hungary drew 1 1 with Turkey.

"This was the best match under my management so far," Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal told reporters.

"We executed our game plan much better than we did on Friday (in a 3 0 win over Estonia). We only played sloppily in the final quarter of the first half and that resulted in their sole chance of the match."

Germany also moved a step closer to the finals when they followed up Friday's 3 0 win in Kazakhstan with a 4 1 victory over the same opposition in Nuremburg to climb to 16 points and open up an eight point gap at the top of Group C.

Sweden, who did not play, Austria and Ireland are all on eight points after the latter drew 2 2 with the Austrians in Dublin after the visitors salvaged a point with an equaliser from David Alaba in the 92nd minute.

Germany, again without a recognised striker, hit three van cleef engagement ring knock off goals in eight minutes through Borussia Dortmund trio Marco Reus, Mario Goetze and Ilkay Guendogan in the first half.

Reus added a fourth in stoppage time to give Germany their fifth win in six qualifiers as they also hit the woodwork six times in a one sided game that at times looked like a friendly.

"Obviously, in the second half our concentration and our presence was not as strong but we still could have scored two or three more goals. But the game was decided by then," Germany coach Joachim Loew said.

"Kazakhstan had 10 men around the box and waited for us but did little else. They did not want to play football."

Italy also consolidated top spot in their section when they won 2 0 in Malta with a double from in form Mario Balotelli to move three points clear of second placed Bulgaria who drew 1 1 in Denmark in their Group B game. Italy now have 13 points.

Balotelli, buoyed by his outstanding goal in a 2 2 friendly draw with Brazil on Thursday, again delivered for Italy who survived two first half scares before applying the killer blow with a second goal in the dying minutes of the opening half.

"We have to treasure the fact that when we come up against a well organised team we have to be quicker with our play," Italy coach Cesare Prandelli told Rai television.

"But the great performance against Brazil and the three points tonight are paramount."

Balotelli opened the scoring with a sixth minute penalty after Malta defender Luke Dimech floored Stephan El Shaarawy in the penalty area but Malta refused to lie down.

Their bold reaction unsettled Prandelli's men whose struggles were laid bare when, after 16 minutes, goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon brought down Malta midfielder Andre Schembri in the box after an intelligent pass from Roderick Briffa.

Michael Mifsud marched towards the spot but his low effort was stopped by Buffon.

England briefly looked like replacing Montenegro at the top of Group H as they took the lead in Podgorica with a Wayne Rooney header after six minutes.

Although England started brightly and dominated the first half, the home side battled back and deservedly equalised through Dejan Damjanovic in the second half to move on to 14 points, two points clear of England.

Belgium and Croatia, who started the day joint top of Group A with 13 points, stayed neck and neck after Belgium beat visitors Macedonia 1 0 with a goal from Eden Hazard and Croatia won 2 1 in Wales with late goals from Dejan Lovren and Eduardo.

The pair are nine points clear of third placed Serbia, who won 2 0 against Scotland 2 0 who became the first knock off van cleef and arpels butterfly ring team in the European qualifiers to be mathematically eliminated as they cannot catch either of the joint leaders Belgium or Croatia.

Portugal rekindled their chances by winning 2 0 in Azerbaijan after stumbling to a 3 3 draw against Israel on Friday to move within a point of Group F leaders Russia, who did not play.

saving Goldy and the legend of Biega grows

It almost hard to believe now, but Daniel Sedin had 61 points last van cleef inspired necklace fake season. It 50per cent more than his current pile. He had 28 goals. That doublewhat he got.

To think, many concluded last year was a down year for the Sedins, impaired by multiple Henrik injuries in the second half, including a broken finger he was playing with for weeks.

Matching thatdownyear now feels as unattainableas theArt Ross, 100 point seasons.

Since Jan. 1, Danielhas four goals. That 39 games, nearly half a season worth.

Great shifts are counted up by the week now instead of the period. Some weeks, there aren many.

The Sedins agonizing past six monthshas been largely buriedamidst concern about the franchise direction, focus on the kids and the ongoing questions about Willie deployment.

But if this is the twinsat 36, what 37 going to look like?

Much of itis age and physical wear. It was inevitable. But the reasons for this fall are van cleef inspired necklace replica varied, and include the coach and all those deployment calls.

Willie ironically hangs his hat on being fiercely loyal to his veterans, but he also had a guiding hand in accelerating their smothering.

It took him too long to figure out Granlund, and in the meantime he all butignored viable options on their wing whichhave worked in the past, includingBurrows and Hansen.

His biggest issue, however, was van cleef and arpels white gold alhambra necklace copy force feeding Sutter on the Sedins power play unit.

Sutter hasput up seven power play points.

In an awful season before exiting Van, one in which he all but gave up, Vrbata had nine PPPin 13 fewer games playing anidentical role.

True, it is hard to watch Chaput playing with the Sedins. He had 10 games there. He has one assist and 12 shots.

Defensively, that line is gettingbeat for 70per cent of the goals scored. Their lunch is being force fed down their throatsand the coach iseither just ignoring it or doesn believe there a better option out there.

Maybe he right. Though, I currently like to strangle anyone who saysChaput is just Alex Burrows in waiting.

But as soul crushing as it is to watch Chaput play with the Sedins, there is something uglier.

The season will end with Sutter getting the third most power play minutes on the team. This, for a veteran who has never had more than 40 points and has done nothing to help this PP group.

There really could not have been a worse year in the Sedins careers for something like this to happen.

Willie seemed fired up about LaBate getting demoted.

Couldn believe it either. In a game that went sideways against Anaheim, Willie didn even play him six minutes.

Still, he seemed shocked he was sent down.

"I think it's tough as a group when you don't reward (LaBate's effort). It's like we don't value that.

Suit v street at Dior Homme

"I'm Belgian, we like things a bit dark", said Kris Van Assche backstage after showing his AW17 collection for Dior Homme, flanked by the face of the new campaign, Boy George. If that nod to subcultural music references didn't tease out the designer's thought process for his collection then the thundering Depeche Mode soundtrack and models in narrow black suits and swamping tech fabric coats certainly did; a youth centric stomp through all things New Wave and Nu Rave. This was a night in Dior's warehouse; the flooring criss crossed with tape that read "Hardior".

The designer riffed on a black and red motif that's become his signature, with nipped in, lean proportions on the suit worn with clomping great boots, ortrainers covered in straps. This tailoring was then small van cleef necklace imitation treated to van cleef and arpels turquoise alhambra necklace imitation a degree of "trashing"; hardware dotting the chest, contrasting top stitching, a tangle of multicoloured threads across a jacket, the ends left trailing. "Everybody saystailoring is over and that nobody wants towear it any more and I feel like maybe we just haven'tgiven young guys the van cleef and arpels long necklace imitation righttailoring yet. I want to express a cool vibe whilegiving them a tailored jacket. It's a search for modern tailoring", said the designer.

Away from the crisp modernity of the suits from the Dior Homme ateliers, the outerwear sentthe Dior man out of the salon and onto the streets; ice white puffa coats, shaggy fur bombers inginger and turquoise, slabs of traffic cone orange on a sleeveless coat and rip cords and toggles acrosscoats and jackets. There was gloss and refinement to the cantaloupe shadedpony skin jacket and trench, butthis collectionpushed Dior Homme further into experimental, subversive territory the photographerDan Witz's images of mosh pit crowds on capes, jackets and suits were as far from the polite environs of Rue Francois, where Dior Homme'sflagship is based, as can be. This was ashowcase of Kris Van Assche's dark materials.
