What is Computer-Aided Design (CAD)?
For decades, technology has played a key role in advancing the manufacturing industry. Today’s manufacturing processes are cleaner, more efficient, and more accurate than ever due to the use of automated systems and programming. Computer-aided design (CAD) has a lot to do with manufacturing’s recent evolution—and the exciting job market within it.To get more news about cad software company, you can visit shine news official website.
What is Computer-Aided Design?
Computer-aided design, commonly known as CAD, is a manufacturing process that allows us to digitally create 2D drawings or 3D models of future products. CAD helps designers and engineers visualize a product’s construction, before fabricating it.
As its name implies, CAD involves the use of computers to develop, modify, and optimize designs. This method has replaced what were once manual design and drafting processes. Today, manufacturers can utilize computer-aided design to create more detailed, accurate, and efficient representations of products. This has led to enhanced quality in manufactured goods and streamlined planning of them.
What is CAD Software?
CAD software is the technology used for computer-aided design. CAD software is used by designers and engineers to develop 2D drawings and 3D models of products they aim to create. CAD software makes it possible for these professionals to also modify and optimize designs easily and intelligently.
Engineers and designers can use CAD software to create designs in layers, before bringing them together to formalize a complete design. This allows them to think about both the outer and inner workings of a product, and to design each component or layer with careful thought and attention. CAD software systems also allow for greater accuracy in designs, and provide reliable documentation that is stored throughout the entire process.
What is amazing about modern CAD software is that it is not just used for the initial drafting and design. It can also let designers know how various materials interact with one another, and therefore whether a design will work. Further, some advanced CAD systems can simulate stress tests on 3D models, allowing engineers to evaluate the structural integrity and performance of a product before bringing it to market.
Most CAD software today is cloud-based, meaning that the designs are accessible anywhere, from the manufacturing lab to the development site. Entire production teams can access design plans and modifications easily, streamlining the manufacturing process.
Dubai steps up automation and robotics in aviation and logistics
To accelerate the adoption of future technology in aviation and logistics, Dubai Future Labs (DFL), an initiative of Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), has signed deals with Emirates Airlines, DP World, and Dnata. To get more news about Robots as a Service, you can visit glprobotics.com official website.

36V vs. 48V E-Bike Battery, Which One Is The Best?
Do you feel overwhelmed when looking for an e-bike, wondering about the power ranges available, thinking which among the available options is the best e-bike battery? There is quite a debate going on about 36V and 48V e-bike battery. Which one is better? Is the 48V e-bike battery worth the investment? Who should opt for the 36V e-bike battery? These are some legit questions that new bikers have. And we are going to address all of these in the article. But first, let us introduce you to some of the most frequently discussed e-bike terminologies and specs. To get more news about 48v VS 52v ebike, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.
Battery Volts
Volts in a battery refer to its ability to supply current. A battery with a higher voltage would offer more power. It is pretty simple to understand. A 36V e-bike battery will allow you to draw a lesser critical current, typically around 15 amperes whereas, a 48V e-bike battery will allow more current in the range of 10 – 40 amperes. It means you can go faster with a 48V E-bike battery. A 36V e-bike battery would therefore require you to use more muscle power to attain the same speed. As a result, you might put more strain on your battery cells.
Amp-Hours
Ampere is a measure of current. Amp-hour refers to a battery’s potential to supply a specific current for an hour. For the sake of understanding, let us explain it in terms of 1 amp-hr. At this rate, your bike will receive a 1-amp current for one hour at a single charge. As you increase the speed, the duration for which the battery can sustain it will reduce. So, continuing with our example, a one Ah battery can manage a supply of 2 amperes for ½ an hour and 3 amperes for 1/3rd hour until it completely discharges.
Watts
It is the parameter you will see more often reported on your e-bikes and should play a key role in identifying the best e-bike battery..
Often manufacturers report both peak watt-hours and the average watt-hours. What is the difference? Peak watt-hours refer to the maximum an e-bike can manage for a few instances. The average range is what it will provide when you use a combination of throttle assistance and pedal power.
Range
The range of an e-bike is something similar to a car’s mileage. The same company manufactures the same model, yet each car performs differently in miles covered per liter. Similarly, the range of an e-bike depicts the power (watts) it will offer for an hour on a single charge until the charging drops to critical levels. And just like two cars of the same model from the same manufacturer cannot have identical mileage, e-bikes have different ranges. The average watt-hours an e-bike battery can offer refer to its range. Let us say you’re riding an e-bike whose average range is 750 watts-hour. You can gain more power assistance, say 1000 watts on the same battery, for 2/3rd of an hour (roughly estimating). But the added speed and torque gained would eventually affect what the battery can offer on average. On the other hand, if you save the extra voltage, you can gain more range for your e-bike.
So, Which Battery is Better?
You might think that with terminologies discussed and calculations shared, a 48V battery would be the best e-bike battery since it offers more power and range. The answer is more complicated. Instead of focusing on which e-bike battery is the best, think of which of these best meets your needs. Let us consider the various factors that should determine which is the best e-bike battery for you.
Weight
Your weight is an important consideration to decide which battery is best for you. Battery considerations shoot exponentially for people weighing 250 pounds or more. Let us say you wish to run an errand in your neighborhood, a largely flat-surfaced area, on your e-bike. And you weigh around 100 pounds. You may be using a combination of power assistance and pedal for a comfortable 400 watts an hour to make a quick round trip. Look at it like this your 36V e-bike battery can take you 20 – 40 miles on a single charge. How much you weigh and the weight you carry on the bike will determine if it goes for 20 miles or 40 miles. These considerations are particularly crucial if you add a cart for kids or your pet while riding a bike.
Terrain
A flat surface needs less power to accelerate a vehicle. You are more likely to get tired when hiking than covering the same distance on a flat road. The same rules apply to your e-bike. Hilly areas need more power and offer resistance, particularly on windy days. If you weigh light, a 36V e-bike battery might be able to provide enough capacity to climb up. But one, you will feel more resistance, two, you will run out of battery more quickly, and three, you will strain the battery affecting its lifetime and efficiency. 48V e-bike battery is more suitable for hilly areas. To start with, they let you draw a far higher critical current than the 36V e-bike battery. These batteries cost more, are heavier but would be worth the investment if you frequent hilly surroundings.
Controller
A controller is what regulates the amount of power provided to your cycle. If your controller has a lower watts rating than your battery, it releases lesser current, no matter how much you push the assistance controls or even the battery voltage. But using a controller with a higher watts rating would lead you to draw more current than you ideally should, leading to overheating. Ideally, you should employ a controller with just as much power rating as to your battery. The e-bike power and torque (ability to use gear) thus generated would entirely depend on the battery.
Purpose
It is probably the primary concern whenever you wish to buy something. Why do you want it? How often do you intend to use it? Are you looking for an e-bike to enjoy your cycling experience and use the power assistance intermittently? So you can feel your legs working out and a little added power for occasions you don’t feel too active. Because a 36V e-bike battery is perfectly capable of so doing, provided you weigh within a given range and the terrain you travel is more or less smooth. But if the e-bike is a quicker, less expensive urban commute option, a great way to get to work without feeling miserable in traffic jams, then you want to power up to a 48V e-bike battery. 48V e-bike battery offers you a quick acceleration and more range for the bike. But it is precisely what urban commuters are looking for in an e-bike. Similarly, if you wish to use your e-bike to explore nature, often consisting of rough surfaces, you need a 48V e-bike or maybe higher voltage, considering the slope and weight you carry.
best Bluetooth speakers for every budget
What’s the best way to listen to music? We’re not talking about music streaming services – that’s another kettle of fish entirely – or weighing up if vinyl is better than the rest. Rather, we’re talking about which speaker will have the privilege of playing your suspect playlists and favourite throwbacks. To get more news about bluetooth bike speaker, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.
It’s the most important aspect, of course, but the best Bluetooth speakers aren’t just about sound.
With audio technology so good now that sound quality differences are sometimes indiscernible to the layman, brands go the extra mile to make sure your entire listening experience is as good as possible. From clean, Scandi speakers to flashy light shows, the Bluetooth audio game has really gone up a notch.High-quality speakers have also joined the Bluetooth race, to the extent that the term “Bluetooth speaker” now encapsulates much of the audio market.
On that point, we’ve tried to give you as wide a range of offerings as possible, from super portable poolside devices to boombox party-starters and luxury, desktop setups.Ultimately, there’s now something for everyone’s tastes in the Bluetooth market. So, whether you’re looking for a backpack-friendly offering, or are ready to invest in something for home, and are after hours of listening and testing, we have you covered.
Transparent’s more sustainable, modular set up means you can continue to upgrade your purchase by replacing its constituent parts, instead of having to buy an entirely new speaker. There is, for example, space in the bottom casing for more wireless options alongside the built-in Bluetooth.
The speaker is designed to be fixed in place – it’s mains powered, and the speakers themselves are forward facing – and the clear glass design enhances any setting. Once in position (make sure to use the nifty white gloves provided with each speaker, as it’s a bind to clean off grubby, overly keen fingerprints), the sound is incredibly clear, with a solid bass and impressively full general sound for a compact speaker.
Transparent’s Swedish design and technology means you’re unlikely to go wrong with this, and modular upgrades will only make it better. Different, refreshing and packed with quality.
There aren’t many audio companies with a stronger design ethic than Bang & Olufsen. A visit to the brand’s headquarters in Struer, Denmark, is an architectural education, so it’s no surprise the A1 second-generation Bluetooth speaker is a stunner.
Available in five colours, it’s waterproof, dust and sand resistant, and is slimmer and sturdier than its much-lauded predecessor. Like other higher-end portable speakers, it has integrated voice assistant and speakerphone, too, with 18-hours of playtime. The sound comfortably outperforms the speaker’s size and provides strong bass and crystal-clear treble, perfect for all the podcasts you’re missing without your morning commute.
The Naim Qb has by far the clearest sound on this list. It’s a cliché, but the listening experience is almost as good as having the musicians in the room – a rarity for wireless speakers. It shouldn’t have come as a surprise, however, as this second-generation speaker features a multicore digital signal processor, providing more than 13-times the power and accuracy of the previous version, and speaker drivers optimised for refined bass and distortion cancellation.
The controls on the top are intuitive and clean, with the volume dial doubling as a touchscreen for navigating favourite tracks and advanced settings. The Qb can also be linked to other non-Naim speakers through Apple home or chromecast – but that seems a bit like mixing champagne with lemonade.
This is the budget speaker for the socially distanced generation. Complete with bonus removable stake, this garden-ready model is solid and water-resistant enough to chuck into your bag along with a supermarket bottle of wine for an afternoon of sitting with your friends in the park.
It’s a very capable speaker, especially for the price, with clear sound and good battery life. It perhaps doesn’t quite feature a consistent 360-degree sound, due to quiet points between the four speakers inside, but that’s a minor point and hardly noticeable. If you buy two, pairing is as easy as tapping them together, which is neat, straightforward and adds some more fun to proceedings.
The 2021 Himiway E-Bike Lineup + Our Take On Each Model
When Mike, founder, and CEO of Himiway eBikes, came back from his travels through Asia, he had a dream: To create an eBike that cut the middleman, making an affordable ride that didn’t compromise quality. And as an American, he knew that the masses needed an eBike that could keep up with the rugged adventures of wild, mountainous terrain. To get more news about himiway ebike, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.
The result was a bike designed to cater to the masses at an affordable price, while also able to handle rougher trails. Himiway has completed this by giving every member of their e-fleet Kenda tires – a high-quality, low-cost addition that is durable and puncture-free.
Himiway’s fleet is built to cater to everybody, regardless of age or ability. And with company expansions to markets in the US, Canada, Germany, the UK, and the rest of the world, sharing the love for health-driven commuting and clean energy has never been more effortless.
Say hello to Himiway’s ultra-adjustable jack of all trades, The All-Terrain Cruiser.
This all-terrain electric fat-tired edream comes with a host of specs, including a pedal-assist program that allows you to add or remove levels as needed, odometer, speedometer, and USB charger.
There are two riding modes with the Himiway eBikes – Pedal Assist and Electric Mode. Should you desire a pedal to work, the PAS kicks in with up to 10 levels of customization. When you want the electric mode to take over, simply use the throttle and motor away.
Meet the more approachable member of Himiway’s fleet. White is the signature colour of this model, and the Cruiser Step-Thru is just that – a step-thru version of The Cruiser.
Don’t be fooled by the near-identical specs of the Cruiser Step-Thru; with 60 miles range, 350 lb capacity, and dual ride modes, the ebike takes a decisive step into a niche of eBikes that are more accessible – and absolutely necessary.
Extra features of the Cruiser Step-Thru include a half-twist throttle, front coil suspension, hydraulic lockout, and those sexy fat tires. Yum.The Himiway Escape is a brilliant eBike with a huge personality. From the Kenda puncture-resistant fat tires to the versatility of accessibility to all ages, the Escape is the renaissance man of the Himiway fleet.
This compact model has the same dual-ride mode of the Cruiser and Cruiser Step-Thru, with a slightly smaller battery to accommodate the size of the frame. The weight of this model clocks in at 92 lbs – though with a weight capacity of 330 lbs, the Escape is more than able to get the job done – with extra juice to spare.
There’s nothing more fun than a bike that’s outfitted with a sound suspension system – and with the Escape’s dual suspension and hydraulic lockout, you’re in for a ride smoother than the peanut butter on this morning’s toast.
Everyone has that friend that is a little different. For Himiway, that is the Pedelec, a friendly city bike that parts ways with the most prominent bit of the company’s identity, the fat tire.
Replacing the fat style is a Kenda puncture-resistant tire that is a standard 1.95 inches in width on 26 inch wheels. Paired with a 250W gear hub motor with 5 levels of pedal assist, the Pedelec is what you want if you live where bike lanes are well kept and prominent. It’s not as adventurous as the All-Terrain, nor is it as small as the Escape. It’s a mid-sized bike for the urban environment, and the emphasis on the “Ped” in Pedelec is intentional, as it differs from the other Himiway bikes by not having a grip or thumb throttle. It’s pedal assist only for this eBike.
As it is destined for the city, the Pedelec is packed with useful features. Key among these is a fully adjustable handlebar and stem system that lets you adjust both reach and height to find the perfect position for you. A USB charger is built into the LCD display so you can mount a GPS or smartphone on the handlebars, as well as the LCD screen itself being backlit so it’s readable at night without blinding you.
With a 36V 18.2 Ah Samsung battery, the Pedelec is built for long distance, all day riding. Officially estimated range is from 80 to 120 kilometers, or 50 to 75 miles. The Pedelec will get up to 25 KPH (15 MPH) on pedal assist, and comes down from speed with reliable, proven Bengal 160mm hydraulically operated disc brakes. A full headlight and taillight system is included, both with accompanying reflectors, so that you can ride in the day or night with full confidence.
10 Best Electric Bicycles In 2022
Electric cars are the vehicles of the future and nearly every car manufacturer is getting into the market, making their own versions of cars that run on batteries rather than gas. These electric bikes have been popping up in cities all over the world and are an excellent option for those who need to get around but don't want a car.To get more news about electric bike, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.
2022 has seen some excellent e-bikes manufactured by the businesses in the industry. Comfort, power, drive range, price, and features are all the aspects that designers have kept in mind when designing these bikes. The best of the year equally consider all these details.
The thick, fat tires are puncture resistant and give the bike some off-road capabilities. There are other electric folding bikes that may be better suited for specific needs but the XP 2.0 is great for generalists on a budget.
One of the smaller and more compact electric bikes available, the Tern HSD is an excellent choice for urban riders. The bike has a 370 lb carrying capacity that larger bikes can't even touch. And the racks themselves are modular, meaning riders can customize for whatever task they are doing that day.
The Electric Bike Co. primarily only makes one type of bicycle, and it is the cruiser, so it's expected that they have perfected the manufacturing. It's a beautiful bike and perfect for someone jumping from manual to electric. It looks like the beach cruisers one would expect to see in the best movies about cycling.
For the meeting of affordability and cargo carrying capacity, it doesn't get much better than the Blix Packa Genie that starts at $1,999.00. It has a powerful 750W motor and has a range of up to 80 miles, and it's big enough to accommodate larger riders.
While the Specialized Turbo Vado is on the pricier side of the electric bike market, the total package actually makes the purchase quite a deal. The 250W motor is extremely responsive and can provide more than enough power thanks to three increasing levels of assist.
It's also a gorgeous bike that is appropriate for cruising around and for daily commutes. Powerful hydraulic disc brakes, a large 710Wh battery, and great extras like a Garmin Radar for car detection and anti-theft system locks make the Turbo Vado a complete buy.
Not all electric bike shoppers are as tall as some bikes are designed for, for those riders Rad Power Bikes RadExpand 5 is an excellent and powerful choice. It has a low step over height and comfortable seat and though it's not as fast as some others, the 750W motor is reliable enough for most rides.
The Aventon Aventure is an excellent choice for riders looking for the best-in-its-class fat tire bike at a reasonable price. It's a very fast bike that's easy to control, so new riders will be happy, and the ability to go off-road is as good as any other fat tire.
While most road bike enthusiasts may balk at the idea of an electric road bike, the BULLS Alpine Hawk EVO adds the power of a 255W motor without taking away from what a road bike should be. 33.5 lbs may also be heavy for a road bike, but owners can remove the drive pack to take 10 lbs off the bike and turn it into a completely manual road-bike.
The motor is subtle enough that riders may not even notice it working. But that is the intent, the electric side of the road bike is there to help with the more painful parts of road biking, the last leg getting home, hills that come out of nowhere, and any other time when it would be helpful to have just a small extra push in a grueling ride.
The GoCycle G4 is one of the lightest electric bikes on the market thanks to its carbon fiber frame and spoked carbon wheels. It folds easily and thanks to its small size and lightweight, is extremely easy to transport.
Despite its small size, the bike can move quickly and has powerful torque. The electric shifting is also unique to GoCycle and makes changing speeds easy. The tiny bike is also packed with features such as a hidden USB port, CleanDrive system, and front hub motor.
Double Sided Butyl Tape (1.5" x 100')
This product is made of a super tacky butyl rubber that sticks well to most masonry surfaces and also polyethylene. Being a two sided tape, this will allow you to mount objects on vertical surfaces and will also create a seal. In some situations it can be used as an alternative to using nails and washers or screws to mechanically fasten the polyethylene liner or rigid foam insulation (such as Bora-Foam). At the same time, it can serve the purpose of sealing the liner or insulation board to the wall and eliminating the need for caulking. To get more news about Double Sided Butyl Tape, you can visit senpinghz.com official website.
Directions for attaching polyethylene or Bora-Foam to a wall or pier: First you need to firmly apply the tape to the masonry surface. Then pull the paper backing carefully off by pulling alongside of the wall (as opposed to away from the wall). Finally, apply the top edge of your liner (or foam board) to the face of the tape. You now have fastened the liner (or foam board) to the wall and also created a seal.

Armorcore Level 4 Bullet Resistant Fiberglass Wall Panel UL 752 Rated
Our bullet resistant panels are designed to absorb a bullet’s energy within the panel’s laminate. The composite laminate consists of woven fiberglass reinforced with resin, which makes it capable of defeating a bullet through a process of energy absorption within the laminate. Once the panels have begun to delaminate from impact, any additional shots become progressively easier to defeat because the energy is more readily absorbed by the laminate. In contrast to steel barriers, the fiberglass laminate is designed to prevent ricochet of the bullet as well as spalling to the non-threat side of the panel. To get more news aboutbulletproof zone, you can visit bulletproofboxs.com official website.
Bullet resistant fiberglass panels are most commonly used in wall assemblies, counters, doors, millwork, cubicles, and desks for many different architectural facility designs. Some of these facilities include Commercial, Schools, Financial, Government, Grid Security, Healthcare, Law Enforcement, Military, Residential, Safe Rooms and beyond.
UL 752 Industry Standards
Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., the world’s oldest and largest, not for profit, independent testing company, wrote the standard for bullet resistant materials. The UL752 standard has been widely accepted throughout the world as the standard for architectural bullet resistive building materials.
Our panels have been tested according to that standard by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc.
A ballistic resistive product becomes “UL Listed” after being subjected to a variety of ballistic tests which include shooting the materials while frozen at -25 degrees Fahrenheit and while heated to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. After the initial testing series, the product is then set up for maintenance testing that involves “pulling random samples” without notice from the manufacturer’s routine production on a quarterly rotation. This rigorous testing schedule ensures that the product is being made without variation and has the highest level of ballistic resistive integrity available.
HOW TO CHOOSE THE BEST CAR TIRES
Despite the advances in tire technology, tread life is finite and will vary depending on car type, tire type, driving aggressiveness, and even road or weather conditions. To get more news about tire manufacturer, you can visit gofortunetire.com official website.
Car tires will need to be replaced several times throughout a vehicle’s lifetime. Nothing lasts forever, as the old saying goes. Responsible driving and proper maintenance can increase the tire’s mileage. Monthly tread inspections can detect the federally required tread wear indicators. This will allow you to determine when your tires need to be replaced.
TYPES OF TIRES
It’s important to be aware of your current car tires and explore your options when it comes to replacing them.
Normally, you will need new tires that match the speed rating and tire size to fit your vehicle. You can then use the ratings to identify models that excel in handling, noise, braking, and ride comfort to find the right tires for you.
1. ALL-SEASON CAR TIRES
All-season tires are available in various sizes to fit all vehicles, including small cars and light-duty pickup trucks. This tire is designed for drivers who desire all-year traction, long treadwear, and a comfortable ride. However, all-season tires lack the grip and precision of performance tires.
2. PERFORMANCE ALL-SEASON CAR TIRES
The all-season performance tire offers an all-year grip. In addition, they are faster than standard all-season tires and offer better handling and braking.
Performance all-season tires are marked with a snowflake mountain symbol at the sidewall. They have cold-weather traction comparable to dedicated winter/snow tires but can be used year-round. Furthermore, all-weather tires don’t need to be replaced seasonally.
3. ULTRA-HIGH-PERFORMANCE TIRES
All-season and summer ultra-high-performance tires are usually fitted to sporty vehicles.
These tires provide excellent handling and responsive steering in wet and dry conditions. However, treadwear and ride comfort are often compromised. For example, summer ultra-high-performance tires won’t grip in cold conditions and aren’t recommended for use in snowy or icy weather. In addition, winter traction may be compromised by all-season tires.
4. ALL-SEASON TRUCK TIRES
The all-season truck tire can handle heavy loads. These tires are versatile and can withstand all conditions.
5. ALL-SEASON SUV TIRES
All-season SUV tires were specifically created for modern SUVs. They are a combination of truck and car tires. These tires are designed to provide the best performance, comfort, and light-duty lifting capabilities of these vehicles.
6. ALL-TERRAIN TRUCK TIRES
All-terrain truck tires have been designed for heavy-duty use. They can be used on both paved and unpaved roads. This tire tread has a more rugged design to offer extra traction on snowy and unpaved roads.
7. WINTER/SNOW TIRES
Snow tires have a superior grip in cold conditions. In addition, they have faster treadwear compared to all-season tires because the tread is specially designed to grip snow and ice. Furthermore, the rubber is formulated for freezing temperatures. However, on clear roads, a winter tire is more difficult to stop than other tires.
8. PERFORMANCE WINTER/SNOW TIRES
These performance winter tires are available in sizes that will fit both ultra-high performance all-season and summer tires. These are intended to replace ultra-high performance all-season and summer tires, offering better cold-weather grip.
9. TRUCK WINTER/SNOW TIRES
Truck winter/snow tires were specifically made for SUVs and pickup trucks. Always use these tires in a set of four for optimum performance.
The best home security systems for San Antonio in 2022
Modern security systems include everything from motion, glass break, and entry sensors to smart smoke detectors, doorbell cameras, and smart locks. Many offer both self and 24/7 professional monitoring, as well as DIY or professional installation. And even if you’re not home, you’ll get notified if an alarm goes off through a convenient mobile app. To get more news about security door sensors, you can visit securamsys.com official website.
After years of testing all of the most popular home security systems on the market today, here's my methodology for selecting the best options:
How well each system worked: I installed and tested each security system to determine how easy it was to set up and how well it worked, including how soon I got notifications when alarms went off, how easy the mobile app was to use, etc.
Pricing: I compared pricing in terms of equipment costs, professional installation, professional monitoring, and other costs that come with buying and using a home security system.
Equipment: I looked at the range and the quality of the equipment available, including sensors, cameras, video doorbells, etc.
Using those factors, I’ve found the following systems to be the best options for San Antonio home security systems. Whether you want DIY or professional monitoring and installation, whether you have a high budget or you’re trying to save money, keep reading to find out which security solution is right for various San Antonio area homes and businesses.
Home Security System Comparison
Here’s a side-by-side comparison of the top home security systems, but keep in mind that all prices are accurate as of November 2022 and could change in the future. To see the most up-to-date prices, be sure to check each company’s website.
Want a home security company that does the work for you? Meet ADT, the oldest home security company in the country with more than 140 years in business.
All ADT systems come with professional installation and 24/7 professional monitoring, so you won’t have to lift a finger to set up or monitor your system. And even though the company has been around for over 100 years, ADT has adjusted to the times, with mobile alerts whenever any alarms go off and voice integrations with Alexa and Google Assistant. When I had my hands full one evening, having Alexa disarm my system prevented me from dropping all that I was holding.
With such an established company, it came as no surprise that the equipment worked well, with fast notifications and smooth integrations with the mobile app. Additionally, one major advantage of a system from ADT is its recent integration with Nest Cameras. Formerly only available on the Google Store and through large retailers like Best Buy, now ADT now offers the Outdoor Nest Cam, Indoor Nest Cam, and Outdoor Nest Cam with floodlights for extra protection in the night.
While the industry standard for video quality is 1080p HD, these cameras take things a step further with crystal-clear, 4K video quality. Another impressive feature was the artificial intelligence. Rather than just alerting me whenever the cameras detected motion of any kind, I only got notified when they detected people, leading to smarter and more necessary notifications.
One drawback of ADT, however, is its lack of smart home integrations. It only works with a couple of Internet of Things (IoT) brands: LiftMaster gate and garage door openers and Kwikset smart locks. While I appreciated the ability to have my security system arming and disarming trigger my door openers and locks, this isn’t the greatest number of integrations I’ve seen from a company.
Another drawback is the price. Since every system comes with 24/7 professional monitoring, expect to pay at least $45.99 a month, much higher than the $20 industry average. Prices also increase if you finance your equipment with a 60-month (five-year contract), which has 0% APR. To save monthly, pay for your equipment upfront. Also, professional installation starts at $99, pretty standard but still more expensive than free DIY installation.
