UNIONDALE, N. Salomon Fellraiser Homme .Y. - The surprising New York Islanders are starting the second half on a down note as top-line forward Kyle Okposo will be sidelined six to eight weeks because of an undisclosed upper-body injury.Islanders coach Jack Capuano delivered the news Monday after the first practice following the NHL All-Star break. Okposo, who played in New Yorks first 46 games this season, is second on the club with 44 points — one fewer than All-Star John Tavares. He has 14 goals, including four against Pittsburgh on Jan. 16.Okposo played three days later against Philadelphia and practiced with the club last Tuesday before the break.I kind of had an idea before the break, but it definitely comes as a shock, Capuano said Monday. Kyles play is dictating how we go and the pace we play with. The Metropolitan Division-leading Islanders (31-14-1) are scheduled to host the New York Rangers, weather permitting, on Tuesday night. Chaussure De Marche Salomon . Canada wasnt in the game from the outset. Head coach Dan Church left Calgary in the morning without addressing the players. He told The Canadian Press he felt the organization lacked confidence in his ability to defend the Olympic gold medal in February. Superstar Blanche Et Verte . -- Phil Mickelson came to the St.CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- D.J. Augustin says he has no hard feelings when it comes to the Charlotte Bobcats -- even though they let him walk in free agency after the 2012 season. "Just a business," Augustin said with a smile. He sure took care of business Saturday night. Augustin played like a man with something prove, breaking open a close game by scoring 15 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter to help the Chicago Bulls hold off the Charlotte Bobcats 89-87 and get back above .500. The Bulls (22-21) have won 10 of their last 13 games. Augustin hit 4 of 5 shots from the field in the fourth quarter, including three 3-pointers. It was the third time in the last four games Augustin has scored at least 27 points. Augustin was drafted by the Bobcats in 2008 and spent four seasons in Charlotte before the Bobcats decided to go with Kemba Walker as their starting point guard. "Its always fun playing against your old team," Augustin said. "Im with the Bulls now and that is all that matters." Augustin spent time with Indiana and Toronto last season before joining the Bulls this past off-season. Chicago coach Tom Thibodeau called the 6-foot Augustin a "huge pickup." "We had a need and he had a need as well," Thibodeau said. "It was good for him and its been great for us and hes played better and better. He was ready when this opportunity came around. Its not only his individual performance, but what hes doing for our team." Joakim Noah added 11 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists for the Bulls, who have won 10 of their last 11 against the Bobcats. Taj Gibson had 13 points and seven rebounds, while Mike Dunleavy had 12 points and eight rebounds. Al Jefferson continued his hot play for the Bobcats (19-27) with 32 points and 13 rebounds. It was his ninth straight 20-point game. "Nobody is playing better than Al over the last eight or nine games," Bobcats coach Steve Clifford said. Jefferson said the discomfort from the ankle he sprained in the preseason is starting to subside. "At the beginning of the season I wasnt healthy," Jeefferson said. Adidas Superstar Toute Blanche. "My ankle is feeling really good and Im not surprised how Im playing. I know I can play at a very high level when Im 100 per cent." But the Bobcats arent getting much production from other positions with Walker still out with an ankle injury. The starting frontcourt of Ramon Sessions and Gerald Henderson was a combined 9 of 26 from the field. "They double-teamed me and did a good job of keeping the ball out of my hands. So tonight, Kemba would have been needed," Jefferson said. "But its an opportunity for some other guys to step up and make a name for themselves." Chicago came in having defeated the Bobcats by an average of 27.5 points in the last four meetings in Charlotte, but this one was close throughout the first three quarters with 14 lead changes and neither team leading by more than six points. The Bulls were up 55-54 going into the final period and quickly extended that lead to 11 sparked by eight quick points from Augustin and six from Tony Snell. The lead would get to 12 before a frantic Bobcats comeback in the final minute, with Jannero Pargo knocking down a 26-footer with 3.4 seconds left to cut the lead to three. But Augustin made two free throws to seal the win. Jefferson hit a one-handed heave from just beyond half court as time expired, although it wouldnt matter. Chicago surrendered 112 point to the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night -- the second-most theyve allowed this season -- but the leagues second-best defence returned to form against the Bobcats. They held Charlotte to 42 per cent shooting after allowing the Clippers to beat them with 59.3 per cent shooting. "We get knocked down but we always get back up and keep fighting," Augustin said. "That is the motto of our team." NOTES: Walker missed his fourth straight game with an ankle injury. ... Carlos Boozer has scored in double digits in nine straight games for the Bulls. ... Sessions had 11 assists for the Bobcats. ... The Bobcats had been outrebounded by 22 in the first two meetings, but held a 45-41 edge on the boards this time. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

On Sunday, head coach Patrick Roy said the teams leading scorer will skate at Mondays morning practice and the club will make a decision on his status for Game 6 at that point. Chris Kreider Rangers Jersey .com) - The Los Angeles Kings peppered Ryan Miller with shot after shot.WASHINGTON -- To prepare for the playoffs, Denver coach Brian Shaw said he wants his high-scoring team to learn to win tough games. There was no better training ground for bump-and-grind basketball than Mondays 75-74 victory over the Washington Wizards. Wilson Chandler scored 17 points, Nate Robinson added 16, and Kenneth Faried had a key block and transition dunk with 33 seconds left. Washington had three possessions after Faried put Denver ahead, but John Wall missed a layup, Trevor Ariza missed a 3-pointer, Chandler blocked a layup try by Garrett Temple, and Robinson stripped the ball from Wall in the closing seconds. Denver, which came in sixth in the NBA in scoring (104 points per game), had its lowest output of the season -- falling 13 points below its previous low -- but was able to conclude a 4-2 road trip. Holding Washington without a field goal for the final 4:04, Denver showed some of the grit that it hopes to employ later in the season. "We didnt even get into the 80s tonight," Shaw said. "But just being able to execute down the stretch, make tough defensive stops when we needed to, I thought we did that tonight, especially at the end of the game." Chandler also had eight rebounds as the Nuggets rallied from 12 points down in the second half, and Robinson helped the Denver reserves outscore their depleted Washington counterparts 34-5. Wall finished with 20 points and eight assists, Marcin Gortat scored 16 points, and Trevor Booker added 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Wizards. Wall was miffed by a no-call at the end of the game, when Robinson made the last of his four steals. "Same thing that was happening all game but I didnt get the call," Wall said. "Nate Robinson was grabbing my arm every time I went by him and thats how I lost the ball and we lose a tough game tonight." In the other locker room, Robinson told reporters that he would "let you all make that decision." Robinson had another key play when sneaked through a screen, stole a pass, and streaked for a fast-break layup, giving Denver its first lead since the second quarter, 73-72. "You gotta be scrappy, do whatever it takes to win," Robinson said. Washington led most of the way behind Wall, but with four rotation players out, Washington got only five points from six reserves who played a combined 62 minutes and shot just 2 for 13. Kevin Hayes Rangers Jersey Authentic. "Weve got to get more than five points from our bench," Wizards coach Randy Wittman said. "Thats gotta get better for us, no question about it. I think we got up 12 at the end of the third. I looked up, its two right away. I gotta figure out a way to find guys that are gonna go out there and increase it by 12, keep it at 12, keep it at 10, keep it at eight, until you can get your main guys back." Neither team led by more than four points in a stagnant first half until Washington scored six straight points, including four by Wall, to go up 43-36 with 2 minutes to go before the break. Washington remained in command in the third quarter, pushing its lead to 58-46 on a jumper by Wall. However, the 5-foot-9 Robinson came off the bench for Denver and scored eight points. Timofey Mozgovs tip-in before the end of the quarter pulled Denver to 60-58. The Wizards still had control until midway through the fourth quarter when reserve forward Jordan Hamilton hit consecutive 3-pointers and former Wizards guard Randy Foye followed with another 3-pointer with a drive and pass to Chandler for a dunk, setting the scene for the final grind. "We missed a lot of open shots. They missed a lot of open shots. It was terrible basketball," Faried said. "Its like that sometimes but we came out with a win, so well take it." NOTES: The Wizards announced during the game that forward Al Harrington underwent surgery on Monday to remove particles from his right knee and will be re-evaluated in four weeks. ... Washington also disclosed that top scorer Bradley Beal has been cleared to increase basketball activities. The second-year guard, who missed his seventh straight game on Monday, has been out with a stress injury to his left fibula. ... Washington also was without Nene (foot tendinitis) and Martel Webster (ankle sprain), who remain day-to-day. ... Denver was without top scorer Ty Lawson (hamstring), who missed an opportunity to play in his hometown. Front-court players Danillo Gallinari and Javale McGee remain out for the Nuggets . NEW ORLEANS -- The New Orleans Saints have placed their franchise tag on Jimmy Graham in order to protect the clubs rights to its star tight end through next season. Vans Sk8 Homme . The move means Graham, barring a holdout, will almost certainly play for New Orleans next season for no less than the tight end franchise tag of $7.04 million. It is also possible, under the NFLs collective bargaining agreement, that Graham could be tagged as a receiver because of how often he lined up at that spot. That would carry a tag of $12.3 million. The move, confirmed by team spokesman Greg Bensel, was expected as the two sides attempt to work out a long-term deal. The Mets made the announcement Sunday night. Parnell blew a save on opening day against Washington and the next day it was revealed he had partially torn right elbow ligament.(SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago Blackhawks will some additional help when they try to extend their longest winning streak of the season. Forward Patrick Sharp is expected to return to the Blackhawks lineup on Tuesday night as the club aims to extend a six-game win streak in a matchup with the New Jersey Devils. Sharp has missed each of Chicagos past 14 games with a lower-body injury suffered on Nov. 4 versus Montreal. He has three goals and six assists in 13 games after logging 34 goals and a career-high 78 points in 82 games last season. The hard part for Chicago head coach Joel Quenneville is figuring out where to slot Sharp in the lineup given how well his team has played as of late. During Mondays practice, Quenneville shifted Sharp to the right wing and had him play on a line with Bryan Bickell and Andrew Shaw. It gives us some options and helps our power play. Its good to get him back playing as well, said Quenneville of Sharps return. Even without the services of Sharp, the Blackhawks have won six straight for the first time since Nov. 21-30 of last year and picked up their ninth win in 10 tries with Saturdays 3-1 decision over the Nashville Predators. Marian Hossa scored twice and Brandon Saad had a goal and an assist, while Scott Darling made 32 saves in his fourth career start. With the win, the Blackhawks sit second in the Central Division, one point ahead of Nashville and one back of St. Louis. Were excited that weve put ourselves in the spot we were hoping to be after 20 games, but we shouldnt be satisfied, Quenneville said. We should be looking to improve off of these levels, which will make us a good team. Chicago plays the second of four straight on the road and will try to win seven straiight for the first time since April 6-19, 2013. Sergei Bobrovsky Jersey. Darling is expected to get another start tonight and is 3-1-0 on the season with a 1.73 goals against average and .943 save percentage. The Devils return home following last nights 2-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes, a game that featured another great performance by the ageless Jaromir Jagr. The 42-year-old tallied a goal and an assist, passing Marcel Dionne for sole possession of fifth place on the NHLs all-time points list with 1,772. The Czech superstar also became the 15th player to skate in his 1,500th career game and his goal was the 710th of his career. This is all special, Devils head coach Pete DeBoer said of Jagr. You might not ever see this again. Adam Henrique netted the game-winning goal and Cory Schneider was spectacular, stopping 39-of-40 shots fired his way for the Devils, who entered the game with losses in six of their last seven games. Scott Gomez supplied his first two assists of the season. New Jersey picked up the win despite forwards Mike Cammalleri (muscle injury), Patrik Elias (groin) and Travis Zajac (lower body/illness), as well as defenseman Adam Larsson (flu), not making the trip to Carolina. Schneider, meanwhile, started for the 27th time in New Jerseys 28 games this season and it wouldnt be a surprise to see him go again tonight. He is 2-2-1 with a 3.44 GAA and .901 save percentage in six lifetime meetings with Chicago, including five starts. Backup Scott Clemmensen has faced Chicago only once and was blitzed for six goals on 32 shots on Dec. 8, 2013 in a loss with Florida. The Devils lost both of their meetings with the Blackhawks last season and Chicago has won five of the last seven encounters. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys ChinaCheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

(SportsNetwork. Derek Sanderson Bruins Jersey .com) - The San Francisco Giants have filled a need with the signing of outfielder Nori Aoki to a one-year deal on Friday, according to multiple reports. The contract is reportedly worth a base of $4 million and also includes a club option worth $5.5 million for 2016. Aoki, 33, hit .285 with 43 RBI and 17 stolen bases in 132 games for the AL- champion Kansas City Royals last season. He struggled in the World Series against the Giants, however, going 1-for-14 (.071) in the seven-game set. Aoki will return to the National League, where he spent his first two MLB seasons in Milwaukee. For his career, the Japanese native has hit .287 with a .353 on-base percentage, while striking out just 144 times in over 1,800 plate appearances. Loui Eriksson Jersey .4 seconds left and dribbled up court, weaving through Pitts defence. Ryan Spooner Bruins Jersey . Louis and Ryan Kesler have demanded to be traded.RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. -- Lexi Thompsons play around the greens has held her back at times in her young LPGA Tour career, lagging behind her powerful long game. On Friday in the Kraft Nabisco Championship, her putting touch carried her to the top of the leaderboard in the first major championship of the year. The 19-year-old Thompson, already a three-time winner on the tour, shot a bogey-free 8-under 64 at Mission Hills for a share of the lead with Se Ri Pak. "I worked extremely hard in the off-season on my short game and just trying to get my game a lot more consistent," Thompson said. She had only 25 putts after taking 35 in a first-round 73. "I just had a little bit of speed issues yesterday," Thompson said. "I didnt really commit to my lines and I came up short a lot. I just went out today and picked my line and sped up my tempo a little bit and went up to it and said, Im going to knock it in." After experimenting with a stance close to the ball to get her eyes more over the putting line, shes standing farther away in a more natural position. "Even as a little kid I stood far away from the ball and took the putter inside. I just went right back to that," Thompson said. "I moved farther away and just take one look at the hole and just knock it in. Hopefully." Pak birdied the final hole for a 70 to match Thompson at 7-under 137. The 36-year-old South Korean player won the last of her five major titles in 2006 and has 25 LPGA Tour victories. "Everything has just been really solid," Pak said. "I kept it fairways, greens, always the goal every hole. I had a lot of opportunities, but putting is not as good as yesterday. Still, just really smooth, solid round. Im really happy about the way I finished." Michelle Wie was a stroke back after a 71. "Im really excited," Wie said. "Its fun being near the top of the leaderboard. But try not to look forward too much. Its a long way til Sunday." Thompson birdied eight of the last 13 holes after opening with five pars. "I was just trying to stay in the moment and focus on each shot, not really think about what I was shooting," Thompson said. "I had the same confidence over every shot, just committing to my line and just being confident." She made a 20-foot birdie putt from the fringe on the par-3 17th -- her eiighth hole -- and two-putted for birdie after reaching the par-5 18th in two. Reilly Smith Jersey. Thompson holed a breaking 30-foot birdie putt on the par-4 first, made a 4-footer on the par-4 third and ran in a 20-foot putt on the par-4 fourth after slashing out from under a tree in the left rough. She added an 8-foot birdie putt on the par-4 seventh and closed with a 10-footer on the par-5 ninth after hitting into the greenside bunker in two. "This is my favourite tournament of the year," Thompson said. "Its so beautiful, like really nice weather, and the fans are amazing. Im really comfortable with the golf course. I get to hit a lot of drivers, so I just aim up the right side and hit my little draw." Wie opened with a 10-foot birdie putt on the par-4 10th, and dropped a stroke on the par 13th after driving behind a tree in the right rough. She had a three-putt par on 18 -- missing a 3-footer -- after reaching the water-guarded green in two. "It felt good to start off with a birdie," Wie said. "After that, really just couldnt get anything going. ... But it felt good. Par is a good score out here." On the par-5 second, she made a 25-foot birdie putt after hitting a snap hook off the tee. Instead of going out of bounds, the ball hit a tree and ricocheted into the fairway. "It was a pretty lucky shot," Wie said. "I thought it was for sure OB." First-round leader Shanshan Feng bogeyed the final two holes for a 73 to drop into a tie for fourth with Cristie Kerr at 5 under. Kerr had a 70. Thompson, Pak and Wie played in calm morning conditions, while the breeze picked up as Feng and Kerr finished their afternoon rounds on the overcast day. "The wind kind of picked up, so it was actually tougher playing compared to yesterday," Feng said. "I think I actually did pretty well. I did make two bogeys coming in, but I was still concentrating, and it just happens. Sometimes you make good strokes and they dont fall on this course. Im still positive." Anna Nordqvist, the winner in Thailand in February and Carlsbad last week, was tied for sixth at 4 under after a 69. Stacy Lewis, the 2011 champion, had a 70 to join 16-year-old Lydia Ko and Hall of Famer Karrie Webb at 1 under. Ko and Webb, a two-time winner this year, also shot 70. CINCINNATI - Getting to the quarterback is always a priority in the playoffs. Patrick Kane Jersey . The Bengals have underlined it this week.If Andrew Luck gets time to throw on Sunday, Cincinnati will likely head home one-and-done again. The Bengals (10-5-1) managed only 20 sacks during the season, the fewest in the NFL. Its the second-fewest sacks the Bengals have managed during a 16-game season. On Sunday night in Pittsburgh, Ben Roethlisberger had plenty of time to find open receivers during a 27-17 Steelers win that gave them the AFC North title and relegated Cincinnati to a wild card berth. The Bengals head to Indianapolis for a first-round game on Sunday that amounts to a rematch. The Bengals visited on Oct. 19 and got shut out for the first time in five years. Luck was sacked twice, but threw for 344 yards and two touchdowns in the Colts 27-0 win.Luck cant get that much time again. We have to play great — great — against the opposing quarterback as well, coach Marvin Lewis said. The pass rush has been dreadful much of the season, which is a big surprise. Cincinnati finished third overall on defence last season and had 43 sacks. The Bengals lost end Michael Johnson — 3 1/2 sacks — but returned most of the defence intact. Paul Guenther replaced Mike Zimmer, who left as co-ordinator to become the head coach in Minnesota.Linebacker Vontaze Burfict has missed most of the season with concussions and a knee injury that required surgery. The line hasnt gotten pressure consistently, limiting Guenthers options.Cincinnatis defence finished 22nd overall in yards allowed, 20th against both the run and the pass. The Bengals will be trying to get to a quarterback who is hard to sack. The Colts allowed 29 sacks this season, the eighth-fewest in the league. During their game in October, Luck completed 27 of 42 passes without an interception.Indianapolis piled up 506 yards, one of three times this season that the Bengals have allowed at least 500 yards in a game. The Colts led only 10-0 at halftime, and then pulled away against a defence that was on the field for nearly 40 minutes.Suppressing Andrew Luck is going to be kind of hard, safety Reggie Nelson said. He always starts off kind of slow and the scary thing is, he can always get his team going. The key for us as a secondary is not giving up deep balls, and weve given up a couple of those the last couple of games.Peyton Manning and Roethlisberger were able to complete long passes in the last two weeks, taking advantage of the lack of a pass rush.Obviously, if you get pressure on the quarterback, it helps, cornerback Terence Newman said. But we have to be tight in coverage and defend their receivers. From the wide receiver standpoint to the tight ends to the backs, everybody in that (Colts) offence pretty much touches the ball. The Bengals havent won a playoff game since the 1990 season, a 23-year drought that ties for the sixth-longest in NFL history. Theyve been knocked out in the opening round each of the last three seasons. In order to get the breakthrough, theyll have to get to Luck.Hes a gunslinger — good, bad, or whatever, safety George Iloka said. Hes always capable of making big plays. Were going to have our hands full, as we know.Notes: The club record for fewest sacks in a season is 16 in 1969, with a 14-game schedule. After a sloppy start that saw Jose Mourinhos team concede a goal just after kickoff, Chelsea recovered in the second half to close the gap to league leader Arsenal to four points. Michael Essiens poor back pass allowed Jay Rodriguez to open the scoring at Stamford Bridge after 13 seconds. Southampton held on until Garry Cahill levelled with a header from close range in the 56th. Terry then put Chelsea in front with a glancing header in the 62nd minute for his 34th Premier League goal before substitute Demba Ba put the game beyond reach. "It was important not to panic and keep the emotional balance," Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho said. "We waited for halftime to change the game. The players were fantastic and it was difficult for Southampton. We spoke before the game that with others losing points this was a must-win game." Chelsea built its sixth home win from seven games on an an excellent second-half performance capped with goals from its centre-backs Cahill and Terry, and Bas first Premier League goal of the season. Tim Thomas USA Jersey. Ba, who hit the post from the corner which led to Cahills equalizer, had replaced Essien at halftime. Chelsea found themselves behind almost immediately after Essien sent the ball over Cahill for Rodriguez to calmly slot home. Southampton keeper Artur Boruc then saved Oscars shot before James Ward-Prowse curled a free kick wide for the Saints as Essien was clearly outpaced and Southampton dominated in midfield. Things changed after halftime as Chelsea gradually took the upper hand and was rewarded when Juan Matas set-piece found Branislav Ivanovic, whose header was redirected by Ba onto the post before Cahill headed the ball in from the rebound. Terry then rose above defenders following a half-cleared corner to send Stamford Bridge into rapture and Ba finally added the third after converting a Ramires cross. "After we got the first goal it was fairly even sided," said Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino. "We are unhappy but there were a number of decisions that did not go our way. The ones you dont see are perhaps more important. There was no doubt that the players will react positively. But lest we forget we were playing Chelsea." Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. Chris Terry Jersey . -- Croatias Marin Cilic won the Delray Beach Open on Sunday for his 11th ATP World Tour title and second in three weeks, beating Kevin Anderson 7-6 (6), 6-7 (7), 6-4 in 3 hours, 8 minutes. Cilic leads the tour with 18 match wins this season. He improved to 3-1 against Anderson, the 2012 Delray winner. "These three weeks have been very long for me," said Cilic, the winner in Zagreb and runner-up last week in Rotterdam. "Im going to enjoy it for a while and have a little rest." The match was the first final in tournament history with two sets decided in tiebreakers. Anderson had 12 double faults. "I just didnt put down the clamps to give myself some more chances," Anderson said. "I was a bit too patchy today, but Im happy making the finals." Top-ranked Bob and Mike Bryan won the doubles final, beating Frantisek Cermak and Mikhail Elgin 6-2, 6-3 for their third Delray Beach title. With Jack Nicklaus watching, the Bryans won their 94th ATP Tour title. "We never thought wed get this high," Mike Bryan said. "Were very happy to kick-start the year here in Delray," Bob Bryan said of about their first title of the season. "Were starting to hit our stride." Teuvo Teravainen Hurricanes Jersey .J. -- Kyle Palmieri thrilled his personal rooting section with an overtime winner that sent the Anaheim Ducks to their seventh straight win. Alexander Semin Hurricanes Jersey . The Hockey Canada Foundation is donating $50,000, with Hockey Quebec contributing $15,000. Hockey Canada also announced it will hold a skills camp for all levels of minor hockey in Lac-Mégantic during the 2013-14 season. Representatives from Hockey Canada, the Hockey Canada Foundation and Hockey Quebec were on hand Tuesday night at a meeting of the AHM de Lac-Mégantic to make the announcement and presentation.Texas Rangers left-hander Derek Holland will miss the start of the season after having arthroscopic surgery Friday on his left knee. Holland injured his knee in a fall on stairs in his home on Tuesday. "I am devastated by this injury. It was a freak accident at home that resulted in a hard fall on my knee," Holland said in a statement released by the team. "As upsetting as this is, my goal is to begin rehab and get back on the mound as quickly as possible." General manager Jon Daniels said team physician Dr. Keith Meister repaired cartilage behind Hollands kneecap during the surgery. Daniels said no ligaments needed to be repaired. Daniels said it was too early to have an exact timetable for Hollands return, but is that the 27-year-old lefty is "expected to miss some time into the year." Daniels said for planning purposes, the Rangers are looking at a midseason return, but are hopeful that it can be earlier than that. The Rangers said Holland will have only limited activity over the next six weeks. Holland was 10-9 with a 3.42 ERA in a team-high 33 starts last season. He pitched a career-high 213 innings. In five major league seasons with the Rangers, Holland is 49-38 in 141 games (123 starts). He is under contract through 2016, with club options for two more years afteer that. Carolina Hurricanes Jersey. Without Holland, the Rangers still appear to have Yu Darvish, Matt Harrison, Martin Perez and Alexi Ogando set for the rotation to start the season. Asked about filling Hollands spot, Daniels said he expected to add some pitching depth, but clarified that would be "more in the depth category than really replacing somebody at the front-end of our rotation." Daniels never specifically mentioned Masahiro Tanaka, the Japanese free agent who was 24-0 with a 1.27 ERA in 27 starts last season. But the GM said it didnt seem realistic that a "big-ticket item" would be the answer. "This is an opportunity for a number of our guys," Daniels said. "Were going to go out and hopefully fortify that group and give ourselves some additional options and expect Derek will be back midyear." Daniels, though, has said previously when asked about Tanaka that the team would do its due diligence with any free agent. After the Rangers signed outfielder Shin-Soo Choo to a $130 million, seven-year contract last month, team co-owner Bob Simpson said adding Tanaka "would be a tough thing." The Rangers payroll is expected to be over $130 million this season, more than double what it was when the ownership group took over nearly 3 1/2 years ago. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

TORONTO - Toronto Blue Jays president and chief executive officer Paul Beeston is giving his general manager a vote of confidence despite a mediocre season and a third-place finish in the American League East. Travis Frederick Jersey . The future of general manager Alex Anthopoulos has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks. He overhauled the roster two years ago but the Blue Jays have gone 157-167 since and extended their playoff drought to 21 years with an 83-79 finish this past season. Alex I can say for a fact is back, Beeston said Friday in an interview on Sportsnet 590 The Fan. Anthopoulos has been with the franchise for over a decade and has served as GM for the last five years. He hasnt finished what he started out to do, Beeston said. Im 100 per cent supportive of him. I think that he has done a very good job. I think we are now seeing the benefits of what happened with his development (and) his investment in the farm system. I think thats only going to be better for the future. Beeston also said he expected manager John Gibbons to return next year. Anthopoulos has also voiced his confidence in the Blue Jays skipper, who has a rolling contract that kicks in every Jan. 1. The Blue Jays had a strong first half in 2014 but struggled after the all-star break and fell out of the playoff picture last month. Beeston said the teams payroll of about US$135-137 million will rise in 2015. The 69-year-old native of Welland, Ont., also confirmed that hes in the last year of his contract but said he has no plans to leave the organization. Im here as long as Rogers wants me here, he said. I enjoy what Im doing. Also Friday, the Blue Jays announced they have outrighted infielder Munenori Kawasaki, first baseman Dan Johnson and catcher George Kottaras to triple-A Buffalo. Johnson and Kottaras, a Toronto native, have both elected free agency.Ryan Switzer Jersey . "There are a lot of things that are going very well in this organization. Im not coming in here to rip things apart," Nicholson told reporters Friday. "I know what Hockey Canada was when I started, and I know where this (Oilers) organization is today. Chidobe Awuzie Jersey . -- Ricky Romeros comeback bid hit another road bump Tuesday in an ugly 18-4 Jays loss to a Detroit Tigers split squad.TORONTO - Toronto surrendered two separate leads Saturday and settled for a 2-2 draw with the Chicago Fire at BMO Field. Gilberto gave Toronto a 2-1 lead in the 78th minute, but the home side was unable to hold on as Quincy Amarikwa tied it at 2-2 in the 90th minute. A Fire own goal in the first half accounted for Torontos other goal on the night while former TFC forward Robert Earnshaw had the lone goal for Chicago (4-6-14). TFC (9-8-6) forward Luke Moore sprung GGilberto, who stepped around Chicago keeper Sean Johnson before depositing his fourth goal of the season. Jason Witten Jersey. However, Amarikwa put a cross from Lovel Palmer past a diving Joe Bendik in the final minute to earn the draw. Earnshaw, who was making his Fire debut, erased a 1-0 deficit in the 70th minute after being subbed in for Sanna Nyassi. On a Grant Ward cross, Earnshaw dove through the area getting his head on the ball to tie the game 1-1. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

BOSTON -- John Lackey pitched seven strong innings, Jackie Bradley Jr. Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 Femme . singled in two runs and the Boston Red Sox snapped a three-game losing streak with a 5-1 win over the Texas Rangers on Monday night. The Red Sox never lost more than three straight last year when they won the World Series. They avoided dropping their first four home games for the first time since 1984. Lackey (2-0) allowed an unearned run and five hits in seven innings five days after giving up two runs over six innings in a 6-2 win at Baltimore. Chris Capuano pitched the eighth and Koji Uehara escaped a second-and-third jam in the ninth in a non-save situation. Tanner Scheppers (0-1) allowed Bradleys run-scoring hits in the second and fourth, and Boston added three runs in the eighth. Bradley, Mike Napoli and A.J. Pierzynski each had three singles for the Red Sox. Boston took a 1-0 lead in the second on an RBI single by Bradley after singles by Xander Bogaerts and Pierzynski. Texas tied it in the fourth on singles by Adrian Beltre and Alex Rios, a passed ball and a sacrifice fly by Mitch Moreland. Bradley came through again in the fourth with another run-scoring single after Pierzynski singled and went to third on a single by Jonathan Herrera. The Red Sox stranded runners at second and third in the fifth after Napoli and Grady Sizemore singled and both advanced on a passed ball. Pierzynski ended the inning by striking out. Then the Rangers left runners at second and third with a chance to tie the game in the seventh. The threat ended when J.P. Arencibia grounded out to second as Lackey pounded his glove while walking off the mound after facing his final batter. But the Red Sox wasted a chance to extend their lead in the seventh when Bogaerts struck out with runners at second and third and two outs against Seth Rosin. Boston reached Rosin for three runs in the eighth when Pierzynski singled, went to second on a walk to Herrera and scored when Bradley bunted for a single and first baseman Prince Fielder threw wildly for an error. The other runs scored on a single by Daniel Nava and a fielders choice groundout by Dustin Pedroia. NOTES: Elvis Andrus and Rios have hits in each of Texas seven games. ... Martin Perez (0-0) pitches for Texas against Felix Doubront (1-0) in the second game of the three-game series Tuesday. ... Rangers manager Ron Washington said Yu Darvish, whose first start was delayed until last Sunday by back stiffness, will have his usual four days off before pitching Friday even though Texas has an off day Thursday. Scheppers next start will be pushed back to the weekend. ... The Red Sox signed free-agent infielder Ryan Roberts and sent infielder Brock Holt to Triple-A Pawtucket. ... The Rangers placed LHP Joe Saunders on the 15-day disabled list with a bruised left ankle. Onitsuka Tiger Femme . Vonn had another scary moment at Saturdays World Cup downhill in Val dIsere, ending up clutching her knee in pain after losing her balance and missing a gate. But she gave a reassuring answer shortly afterward, saying no new damage had been done to the surgically repaired knee, and that her plans for the Sochi Olympics were still intact. Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 Pas Cher . After just two league games in June, Toronto (6-4-1) will go on to play seven in July plus a friendly against Tottenham. Five of those contests are against Eastern Conference opposition, meaning valuable points in the playoff race are on the line.TORONTO – Joffrey Lupul wouldve loved to have gone out this past Sunday, grabbed a beer and watched the football game, but given the Maple Leafs dismal performance one night earlier, he knew a seat on the couch was probably more appropriate. When youre not performing up to where you think youre capable of as a team, its not a good feeling, Lupul said. He and his teammates were desperate to stem those ill feelings with an effort they could be proud of and, though it was against the lowly Buffalo Sabres, they got it Tuesday night. Toronto owned its QEW rival in a 4-0 rout, holding the Sabres to just 10 shots – matching a team record – while emerging victorious for just the second time in six tries at home this fall. Still mending fresh wounds from a dispiriting loss to the Bruins over the weekend, one that included a players-only meeting in the frustrated aftermath, the Leafs needed such a performance, if only to relieve some of that building pressure. And though it was hardly any kind of a measuring stick given the opponent, it did help to ease those pressures to some extent. Well, now we know the standard we need to hold ourselves to game in, game out, said James van Riemsdyk, who scored his fourth goal of the year in the victory. Outshooting the Sabres 37-10 overall, the Leafs controlled play almost from the word go, but still found themselves searching for that first goal midway through the game. Michal Neuvirth had made 28 saves to that point in the middle frame, turning every one of Torontos many attempts aside. Those are nervous times because you know that sometimes fate in sports comes and bites you the wrong way and that was what we were worried about, said head coach Randy Carlyle, noticeably relieved after the win. A source of emptiness in recent games, it was the Leaf power play that came through with the goal that broke the nervous tie. Jumping in front of the Sabres defence on a breakaway, Tyler Bozak notched his fourth goal of October – and ninth point – while ending a string of 23 straight empty power plays for Toronto. It was a game where we needed to play a lot better and we felt confident after the first period of how we were playing and knew we just needed to keep playing like that and eventually one was going to go in for us, Bozak said. The Leafs didnt stop there, adding goals from van Riemsdyk, Phil Kessel and Jake Gardiner in the third. Jonathan Bernier, who pitched the easy 10-save shutout, said it was the best game hed seen the team play since landing in Toronto from L.A. All that being said, Tuesday was really just the warm-up response for the Leafs given the opponent – who was also playing their first game back in the Eastern time zone following a road swing through California. A back-to-back this weekend, starting in Columbus and ending at home Saturday with the Blackhawks, will offer more realistic signs as to whether the Leafs have turned any sort of corner. In full-on rebuild mode, Buffalo entered the night with 10 goals all season, had yet to score even once on the power play and was giving up more than 37 shots per game. Nonetheless, they had topped the Sharks in San Jose just a few days earlier. We know that were going to have to play, as we go forward, to a higher level than we did tonight, said Carlyle. Tonight, everything fell our way and well take it because we were in drastic need of a performance at home. Five Points 1. Line Shuffle After Saturdays loss to Boston, Carlyle scrubbed all of his line combos, most notably teaming Kessel with Lupul and Nazem Kadri and David Clarkson with van Riemsdyk and Bozak. Youre doing it because you believe that whats going on cant stay the same, Carlyle said before the game. The changes had the desired effect – though Tuesday, again, didnt provide much for real evaluation. Kessel banked his fifth marker off Neuvirth and into the goal, van Riemsdyk following that up exactly a minute later with his fourth this season on a nifty cross-ice feed from Morgan Rielly. I thought they played well as a line, said Bozak, and I thought our line sustained a lot of zone time too and played pretty well. The change reunites Kessel and Lupul, who had their best NHL seasons respectively when paired together in 2011-12. Kessel posted a career-best of 82 points that year while Lupul bested the 60-point plateau for the first and only time in his career. Lupul nearly matched the Sabres with nine shots on goal on this night, ringing one off the bar along the way. My role changes a little bit on the line, Lupul said of playing with Kessel. Ive got to be the first guy in on the forecheck and get to the front of the net so I know that and thats what Ill have to do to help the line. 2. Home Frustrations The parade of boos have been justifiably merciless through the Leafs early struggles at home – three one-sided uninspired losses. Its frustration thats mounted over years and years of mediocrity, frustration thats easily understood from a players perspective. Its a new year but theyre kind of seeing, in their minds, the same old thing becausse the games that weve played at home weve played quite poorly – other than the Colorado game – so I understand the frustration, Lupul said prior to the shutout against Buffalo. Onitsuka Tiger Jaune. . Weve got to play a lot better and people will be alright. Certainly we want to make this a fun atmosphere; people pay a lot of money to come to these games and its nearly impossible to get tickets so I want people to come here and have a good time, not leave in a foul mood after a game. Weve got to play better and its not just one night, he continued, We shouldnt be nervous to play at home, we should be excited. It was Carlyle who pointed to nerves amid the teams troubled start at the ACC. Like last season, hes advocating composure when hardship hits. What you try to do is you try to keep things as loose as you possibly can in certain situations, he said. Theres a time to teach and [a time to] just say whoa, relax, breathe here gentlemen and we havent done enough breathing as a group in this building. 3. Puck Smarts Many Leafs talked about the improved team game following the victory over Buffalo. Among them was van Riemsdyk, who explained why it was a priority. In my opinion, I think in the first eight games of the year, we were very inconsistent as far as just playing smart, he said. Theres a time and a place to try a play and we werent trying them in the right areas of the ice. When you turn pucks over at your blue line, at their blue line, and make bad decisions with the puck, usually youre going to be chasing the game and youre going to be getting out-shot by a ton. So when youre smarter with the puck, it definitely creates more time in their end. Believe me, its not the first time weve stressed it, Carlyle said of puck management. Weve stressed that right from the beginning of the year, but it just seemed that in some of the situations that weve been in that we havent committed ourselves to what the team needs you to do to have success. 4. Goaltending Home ice had not been kind to Jonathan Bernier coming into the Tuesday affair with Buffalo. Bernier, who picked up just his second shutout as a Leaf, had allowed 13 goals in his first three home starts, sporting an unseemly .867 percentage. He barely saw any action at all from the Sabres, eventually emerging with his first home win this season. Youre just trying to stay focused and make the save that you should make, said Bernier. I thought we played very solid. We kept everything to the outside. Probably the best game since Ive been here. A particular source of strength last season, Toronto goaltending has been just okay through the opening month. Bernier and James Reimer have combined for a .916 save percentage at even-strength so far – the sample size is still small – down from a sizzling .929 mark a year ago. 5. Waiting for an Opportunity Carter Ashton continues to show up every day for practice, for meetings, for strength training in the gym. He also continues to wait for his first opportunity to play. Ashton has been a healthy scratch in all nine games this season. Definitely ready, he said. Every day at the rink, youve got to make sure youre ready and prepare yourself and be good in practices. Definitely excited and ready for any opportunity. Ashton, still just 23, played sparingly in 32 games with the Leafs last season – Carlyle even spoke to his regret about those limited minutes at his season-ending press conference last April. And yet, Ashton is now not even playing at all. Carters been a great soldier, Carlyle said. Hes come to work, he hasnt complained, hes done everything weve asked of him – hes even played defence in practice for us in penalty killing situations – so thats not easy for a young player. Ashton, who scored 16 times in the AHL last year, is still searching for his first NHL goal. He has just three assists in 47 career games. Obviously I want to be able to produce to a certain extent, Ashton said. [But] I think its more about doing the little things right and being a complete player; being responsible defensively and being a trustworthy player and then being able to create energy in the offensive zone. Stats Pack 73-36 – Possession advantage for the Leafs Tuesday. 9 – Shots for Joffrey Lupul, one off the Sabres total as a team. 4-0-0 – Leafs record this season when Phil Kessel records a point. .916 – Even-strength save percentage for Jonathan Bernier and James Reimer this season. 0-23 – Torontos drought on the power play before Tyler Bozak scored in the second period Tuesday night. 10 – Points this season for Bozak, tied with Kessel for the team lead. Special Teams Capsule PP: 1-6 Season: 16.2 per cent PK: 2-2 Season: 85.3 pre cent Quote of the Night On the replay when I saw it between periods, I said holy crow. - Randy Carlyle, reacting to Dion Phaneuf, who appeared to suffer a serious right knee injury in the second period only to return for the third. According to Carlyle, Phaneuf felt a pop in his hip.
