HOUSTON -- Among the thousands of Baylor Bears fans who showed up at Rice Stadium on Friday night to watch Baylor play the Rice Owls was one especially familiar face: former coach Art Briles. Air Max 2018 White .Briles was dismissed from Baylor in May in the aftermath of an investigation into the universitys handling of sexual assault allegations made against students, including several football players.I love these players and I love these coaches, Briles told ESPN.com. I love Baylor Nation. Its the only time Ive been able to show up for a game.Briles was in attendance for most of the first half of the Bears 38-10 win, leaving the stadium near the end of the second quarter. He said he didnt notify anybody in the Baylor administration about his intention to attend the game.Im not trying to be a distraction, Briles said. Its about the coaches and its about the players.Briles declined to answer questions about anything other than his attendance Friday night. Asked about his recent interview with ESPNs Tom Rinaldi, in which he apologized for mistakes he made, Briles simply responded, Tonight was about supporting these players, supporting these coaches and supporting Baylor Nation.Baylors athletic director, Mack Rhoades, declined any comment. As Briles walked through the concourse at Rice Stadium on his way out, he was stopped by several fans who shook his hand and offered words of support. Several took pictures with cellphone cameras and one even took a selfie with the coach just before he went out the exit gate.Briles expressed gratitude to the Baylor community for its support during his time there. He said he isnt certain if he will attend any more Baylor games this season.I dont know, he said. Ill just take it day by day.Baylor quarterback Seth Russell?was effusive in his praise for Briles when asked about his attendance.I did not know he was here, Russell said. I wish I had seen him.Russell said he came to Baylor for Coach Briles.Hes a top-notch guy, Russell said. A lot of things are being said bad about him but I know in my heart hes one of the best guys Ive ever been around. Hes a father figure, for sure. He does the right things when he needs to. He just got caught up in the wrong situation. Hes going to support us any way he can. I love him to death, and hes a great coach and a great guy. Nike Vapormax Comme Des Garcons . -- Bobby Ryan helped the U. Air Max 2018 Blue .ca look back at each of the Top 10 stories of 2013. AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- The Detroit Pistons are preparing to be without standout point guard Reggie Jackson at the start of the season.Jackson is expected to miss about six to eight weeks with knee and thumb problems. The team said Monday that the 26-year-old Jackson had platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections to treat left knee tendinosis and a sprained right thumb.I dont think you can say how it went, coach Stan Van Gundy said in bemused fashion. I mean, they injected him and the stuff went in him. I guess thats successful.Detroit opens the regular season Oct. 26 at Toronto, so Jacksons timetable could keep him out for at least the first month. He did not play in the teams preseason opener at Brooklyn on Thursday. Nike Vapormax Womens. Jackson averaged 18.8 points and 6.2 assists last season for the Pistons, who made the playoffs for the first time since 2009. He and center Andre Drummond form an impressive combination, and Jacksons ability to drive at the basket is a big part of Detroits offense. The Pistons signed guard Ish Smith in the offseason, so his role will likely increase with Jackson out. Smith averaged a career-high 12.6 points in 77 games with Philadelphia and New Orleans last season.Smith has been in the NBA six seasons, and Detroit is his 10th team. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

CHARLOTTE, N. Andres Iniesta Jersey .C. -- Cam Newton got the phone call he wanted.NFL commissioner Roger Goodell spoke via telephone with Newton about the Carolina quarterbacks concerns over not being protected by game officials from hits while in the pocket, a person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press. The phone call came Tuesday, but its unclear exactly what they discussed. The person spoke Tuesday on condition of anonymity because the details of the meeting were not disclosed.NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy declined comment.Newton criticized league officials after Carolinas 30-20 win over Arizona on Sunday, saying that he doesnt feel safe in the pocket because officials are treating him differently than other QBs in the league by not throwing flags when he takes an illegal hit.He said after the game he planned to talk to Goodell about his concerns.Newton said he reached his breaking point came when Cardinals defensive tackle Calais Campbell tackled him below the knees as he released the football.Campbell was not penalized. It was reminiscent of the hit that sidelined New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for the season in 2008.I could have torn my ACL, Newton said Sunday.Newtons frustrations come from numerous hits through this career and added that enough is enough.I dont think theres a person that can go through what I go through and keep their head, you know what Im saying? Newton said. Hits to the head, thats one thing, but when youre not protected in the pocket, thats another thing. It became the story of my life ever since I came in (to the league). Its always, `Oh, we missed that, Im sorry. Thats bull c---.Panthers coach Ron Rivera threw his support behind Newton on Monday.Cam is correct, Rivera said. I support him 100 percent in this. I was disappointed it wasnt called. But I get the benefit of looking up at the screen and seeing it on replay. It confirmed what I thought. Its difficult. Youd like to see those calls made. Id love to see our quarterback get those calls.Newton said he is tired of hearing officials tell him they missed a call.I just cant keep accepting, `Oh, we missed that one, or `I apologize for doing that or `I didnt see it, Newton said. Thats horse c---. Coming from a person whos been fined before, coming from a person who everybodys expecting a lot from, Im still going. But yet, when you constantly see the hits, when you constantly see flags being picked up and flags not being thrown, and to see other quarterbacks getting it for lesser physical hits, its taking the fun for me out.Im just being honest about that.---AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP-NFL Jeremy Mathieu Barcelona Jersey . Dallas hasnt ruled out the star quarterback for Sunday nights game against Philadelphia, but all signs point to Romos back injury pushing Kyle Orton into the starting role after two years of limited play as the backup. Surely Ortons name isnt the first that comes to mind for fans wanting a change after years of damaging interceptions, fumbles or, most infamously, the field goal flub when Romo dropped the snap on a kick that could have won his first playoff game in 2006. In case you havent noticed, which is virtually impossible, Peyton Manning has gone to TV commercials full time.Adrian Peterson and J.J. Watt are injured. Aaron Rodgers is struggling. Todd Gurleys breakout rookie season looks like a mirage. Megatron is gone.Russell Wilson has been gimpy. Darrelle Revis has been mediocre. Tony Romo has been invisible.Too many of the NFLs headline grabbers arent in the news, or arent producing the kind of plays and drama football fans crave. With all the consternation about TV ratings for NFL games being down, with everything from the presidential election to the Colin Kaepernick-inspired anthem protests being blamed, maybe pro football is a bit star-crossed because it doesnt have a lot of its stars being, well, stars.NFL supporters like to say its the uniform and the tradition and history of teams that make the game such a slam-dunk attraction. The counter-argument is simply that with such national teams as the Raiders, Giants and Dolphins being non-contenders so often in recent years, why didnt viewership disappear then? No, its about the stars.Arguably the biggest luminary in Roger Goodells league is Tom Brady. He sat out the first four weeks thanks to Goodells suspension of the Patriots quarterback in the deflated footballs saga. Watching Brady take vengeance on the league office by way of New Englands opponents has been one of the few compelling plots thus far.Sure, there are others. The way Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott have taken hold in Dallas has been front-page worthy. There is no question that Dak and Zeke, there is no question theyre inspiring the rest of the team, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said. This game is a lot about that. How about Lorenzo Alexanders career year in Buffalo after nine seasons as an NFL journeyman?I thought he could do a lot of roles for us, Bills coach Rex Ryan says. But I had no idea that he was still the same player, but he might be a better player. How it happens, Im not sure.I know one thing, its hard work and his dedication and all that. Hes an outstanding teammate, too. He serves all the credit.Great story, yes. SportsCenter material in this age of glitz and memes? Probably not.Its unfortunate that as the sports world has become a major part of the instant-gratification, 24/7/365 social media environment, what is happening with the big names is of primary interest. Neymar JR Barcelona Jersey. Almost exclusively. So heading into a weekend of games, theres more focus on Ben Roethlisbergers rehab and LeSean McCoys potential absence than on the emergence of Vic Beasley Jr. as a sacks threat, or Dennis Pittas valiant return to the field. That way of thinking spreads to the guys with the headsets, too. Mike Zimmer isnt a star coach the way Ryan or Bill Belichick or Pete Carroll are. Had any of those three done the job Zimmer has without his starting quarterback (Teddy Bridgewater) and left tackle (Matt Kalil) and Hall of Fame-caliber runner (Peterson), hed be in line for a statue outside the stadium.Zimmer? Oh yeah, his Vikings are 5-1, the cognoscenti say, but their chatter is about Chip Kelly being 1-5.Anyone in the NFL -- well, maybe not some of the diva receivers -- will tell you how football is the most team-oriented sport. Unlike in hockey or soccer, where a goalie can steal wins, or in baseball, with a pitcher dominating hitters, football depends on three units working as much in tandem as possible. It relies on everyone doing his job on the field; a right fielder could be asleep, but if the pitcher strikes out the batter, so what. Try having the center not paying attention when the ball needs to be snapped. Or a safety charging in when two wideouts are running fly patterns.Yet, the NFL has become a star-driven league. Yes, most of those stars are quarterbacks, and when a Brady is suspended, a Manning is retired, the other Manning is floundering, it hurts the product. And the ratings.Nor does it help when players with star power such as Cam Newton, Ndamukong Suh, Jason Pierre-Paul and Joe Flacco struggle. The good news for the NFL is that new stars can develop as quickly as others fade. Goodell had better hope so, because the 2016 season could use a boost.---AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP-NFL Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

PHILADELPHIA -- Left-hander Matt Moore, one of the more noteworthy acquisitions at Mondays non-waiver trade deadline, makes his first start for the San Francisco Giants when they attempt to salvage the finale of a three-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday afternoon. New Balance 373 Baratas .The 27-year-old Moore, who will be opposed by Vince Velasquez (8-3, 3.32 ERA), was acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for third baseman Matt Duffy and two minor leaguers, shortstop Lucius Fox and right-handed pitcher Michael Santos. Its hard to keep a smile off my face when I think about the things to come and being part of this group, Moore told reporters Tuesday, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.Moore, 7-7 with a 4.08 ERA in 21 starts for the Rays this season, was an All-Star in 2013, when he went 17-4 with a 3.29 ERA. He underwent Tommy John surgery the following season, and in 2015 compiled a 3-4 record, with a 5.43 ERA.He has begun to regain his form of late, going 4-2 with a 1.99 ERA in his last six outings with Tampa Bay.(Tampa Bay) is where I was raised but Ive been watching whats been going on here for a while and Im very grateful to be a part of it, Moore said, according to CSNBayArea.com. Its quite a turnaround from where we were in Tampa, in bad shape. To be here in first place is a pretty cool feeling. The Phillies reportedly discussed trading Velasquez to the Texas Rangers before Mondays deadline, but ultimately held on to the 24-year-old right-hander, who was acquired from the Astros in December in the deal that sent reliever Ken Giles to Houston.Velasquez was charged with a 2-1 loss to Atlanta his last time out after allowing two runs in six innings. He is 3-1 with a 2.75 ERA in six starts since a stint on the disabled list in June with a right biceps strain, and has never faced the Giants. The Phillies used a five-run eighth inning to beat San Francisco 13-8 in the series opener and erased a 4-0 deficit to win 5-4 in 12 innings Wednesday.San Francisco had six hits and scored all their runs in the first three innings against emergency starter Phil Klein, then added two more hits in the fourth. They managed only two hits in nine scoreless innings against Klein and six relievers thereafter.Klein, recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley when Wednesdays announced starter, Aaron Nola, went on the disabled list with a strained right elbow, began a stretch that saw Phillies pitchers retire 19 straight hitters between the fourth and 10th.Thats the difference in the game -- we couldnt tack on, Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. We couldnt do anything with their bullpen. We couldnt get anybody on. Four runs in this ballpark, anything can happen. ... Their pen shut us down completely.San Francisco is a major league-worst 4-13 since the All-Star break. Its hard to believe, starting pitcher Johnny Cueto said through an interpreter. Were a good team. (STATS) -- Potential changes in how the FCS playoff field is selected may decrease the number of rematches this year. But everybody will probably wish for a rematch between top-ranked North Dakota State and No. 8 Eastern Washington after the five-time reigning FCS champion Bison won a 50-44 overtime classic over the Eagles at the Fargodome on Saturday.NDSU safety Tre Dempsey intercepted Eastern Washington quarterback Gage Gubrud on the second play of overtime to set up Lance Dunns 25-yard touchdown run around the left end on the Bisons first play of their possession.Thats a great team that we just played, NDSU coach Chris Klieman said. Im so proud of our guys for staying the course. We knew it was going to be a back-and-forth game. And ultimately we got the stop we needed on defense -- what a great play by Tre -- and then I think we finally wore em down with the power play.NDSU (2-0) has won both of its home games in overtime after having never previously gone to the extra time at the Fargodome since the NCAA instituted overtime in 1996. The win also was the Bisons 44th straight at home against a non-conference opponent. The Missouri Valley Conference power was seeking a little revenge for the only previous meeting between the two teams -- Eastern Washingtons 38-31 OT win in the 2010 FCS playoff quarterfinals. That is the only loss in the Bisons FCS playoff history, and after EWU went on to win the FCS title that season, they have won the last five championships. The rematch six years later was worth the wait. Eastern Washington (1-1) played the second half and overtime without injured All-America wide receiver Cooper Kupp, who left with a right shoulder sprain after catching two first-half touchdowns. They gave him 61 TDs for his career, setting the Division I record. But Gubrud kept pressure on NDSUs young secondary, turning to wide receivers Stu Stiles and Kendrick Bourne as he threw for 450 yards and four touchdowns. The visitors from the Big Sky Conference trailed by double digits four times -- 21-7, 28-17, 35-24 and 41-31 -- and never led until the freshman Tamarick Pierce plowed in from 1 yard out for a 44-41 advantage with 4:32 left. The Bison responded with a 15-play, 71-yard scoring drive, which Cam Pedersen capped with a 28-yard, game-tying field goal with 42 seconds remaining.Eastern Washington had a chance to win in regulation, but Jordan Dascalo missed badly on a 49-yard field goal with six seconds remaining.Anytime you just play against great competition and against great players, it helps you as you go further in your season, EWU coach Beau Baldwin said. Thats especially true with our non-conference schedule heading into our conference schedule, which is always tough. We can take a lot from this, and we will. The two teams racked up 1,093 yards of offense (EWU 556; NDSU 537). Gubrud added 49 yards and a touchdown on the ground while Stiles (eight receptions, 169 yards, one touchdown) and Bourne (eight receptions, 133 yards) were his favorite targets. NDSU quarterback Easton Stick, now 10-0 as a starter, passed for a career-high 257 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 60 yards and a score, while Dunn had 14 carries for 128 yards and two touchdowns.I was really pleased with Lance and how hard he ran the football, Klieman said, how he hit the holes, playing with a lot of confidence, and it showed on that last run.All-America linebacker Nick DeLuca, who suffered a right shoulder separation in the season opener against Charleston Southern, returned to the NDSU lineup to post a team-high 14 tackles and 40-yard interception return for a touchdown. The schedules stay tough for both teams next Saturday. NDSU will try to extend a five-game winning streak against FBS opponents when it plays at Big Ten power Iowa. MONTREAL -- Hernan Bernardello gave the Montreal Impact a huge boost in their first CONCACAF Champions League game in five years. Nike Pegasus 34 Mujer . Hassoun Camara scored on a header in the first half as Montreal held on for a 1-0 win over the San Jose Earthquakes in the group stage opener for both clubs Wednesday. Camara jumped to redirect Bernardellos free kick past San Jose goalkeeper David Bingham 16 minutes into a rainy first half before a crowd of 15,115 at Saputo Stadium. Bernardello started in his Impact debut and made his presence felt early at both ends of the field. "The important thing is the team won and played well and Im happy for the victory," the 27-year-old Argentinian midfielder said in Spanish through a translator. "I was expecting a more physical game and it went well under the circumstances. I did my best to give good balls on the attack and Im happy that everything went well and that everything is heading in the right direction." Impact goalkeeper Evan Bush stopped a San Jose penalty five minutes before Camaras goal and went on to record the shutout for Montreal, which last qualified for the Champions League in 2008. Bernardello, who signed on July 23 as the MLS teams second designated player, headed clear a ball in the defensive box seven minutes in, shortly before a steady rain began to fall throughout the rest of the opening half. "Im really impressed with him," Impact forward Justin Mapp said. "Hes a spark in there. He wins balls and hes good with the ball. He had a great set piece to set up Hassoun so I think hes definitely going to help the team, and you saw that tonight." Puerto Rican referee Javier Santos also made his presence felt early and often. He showed Montreals Collen Warner a yellow card and awarded the penalty to the Earthquakes when he ruled that the Impact midfielder had blocked a San Jose free kick with his arm. The early jeers from Santos tight officiating were blown away by a huge ovation when Bush dove to his right to stop a low shot from the spot by Alan Gordon. "Penalties, youve got to decide to react or decide to go one way," Bush said. "For me I decided to go that way and it turned out that maybe I got a little bit lucky in the way I went and made the save." Sam Garza had another Earthquakes scoring opportunity early in the second half, but his header went wide of the left post. "Obviously we leave the field a little bit disappointed," San Jose coach Mark Watson said. "I felt overall our performance was good, a good road performance. Obviously a key moment of the game was the penalty save. It would have given us the lead and something we could have hung on to for the rest of the game but even after the goal I thought we responded well and had a bunch of chances." Garza entered as a substitute in the 43rd minute to replace Martin Chavez, who was carried off the field on a stretcher moments earlier after he was injured on a hard tackle. Impact captain Matteo Ferrari headed a shot off the top of the crossbar in the 65th minute on Mapps centring pass from the right corner. Montreal, which is third in the MLS Eastern Conference with a 10-6-5 record, beat the Vancouver Whitecaps in the Amway Canadian Championship final to claim its eighth Voyageurs Cup. San Jose is one of four American MLS teams in the CONCACAF Champions League. The Earthquakes, who qualified as the 2012 MLS Supporters Shields winners, are eighth in the West with an 8-9-6 mark. "Unfortunately the PK could have made a big difference for us," San Joses Mehdi Ballouchy said. "The thing that probably hurts me the most is giving up a set piece. I think if we gave up a great goal we walk out of here feeling better about it. But losing on a set piece on the road kind of having played well enough, that sucks." The 24 teams in the tournament are divided into eight groups of three, with the winner of each group advancing to the quarter-final stage. The Impact, who are in Group 5, travel to Guatemala to play C.D. Heredia on Aug. 21. Montreal visits the Earthquakes in San Jose, Calif., on Sept. 17 before hosting Heredia one week later to close out the group stage. Toronto FC, which represented Canada in each of the last four CONCACAF Champions League tournaments, made it to the semifinals of the 2011-12 competition, losing to Mexicos Santos Laguna. Shox r4 . Gold Coast coach Rodney Eade says defender Adam Saad has the full support of the AFL club amid claims he was on the receiving end of offensive comments from a city councillor. Nike Vapormax Comme Des Garcons .The Suns have lodged an official complaint with the Gold Coast City Council after Councillor Dawn Crichlow allegedly made racist and homophobic remarks during a diversity function last week.Crichlow is accused of making a series of inappropriate comments during the function including claiming to know about Muslims. She is also accused of saying If thats a man he should not be touching another man. Men dont do that, while Saad was play-acting with Suns mascot Sunny Ray.The Suns letter of complaint to the council claims the veteran councillor had said footballers shouldnt be paid. You all get paid too much and thats why you are all on drugs, during her appearance at the function. The council has indicated it will hold an internal investigation into the allegations.Eade said if another player had made the comments he would have been punished a fair bit already. He said Saad - a multicultural ambassador and one of three practising Muslims in the AFL - would receive all the support he needed from the Suns players and management.Hes a quality lad and he wouldnt be wanting to make a big fuss of it, Eade said. Were 100 per cent behind Adam and think hes been fantastic for our club. Baratas Hombre y Mujer Nike Roshe Cortez NM SP Negro/Blanco . -- Jonathan Drouin gave Halifax the boost it needed to edge host Sherbrooke Phoenix 3-2 in a shootout in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action. Hombre COMME des GARÇONS Nike Vapormax Negro+Antracita . MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer underwent emergency eye surgery Wednesday night, putting his status in question for the teams game against Dallas.Vikings general manager Rick Spielman said Zimmer was uncertain to recover in time for the matchup Thursday night against the league-leading Cowboys. Spielman said hed met with coaches and players to put a contingency plan in place in case Zimmer is unable to coach.Zimmer, who got his start in the NFL as an assistant with the Cowboys in 1994 and spent 13 years with the organization, has yet to face Dallas in the regular season as a head coach. The Vikings and Cowboys played last year in the preseason. The Vikings said Spielman wouldnt be available for further comment until Thursday morning, but they have two former head coaches on staff in offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur (Cleveland) and offensive line coach Tony Sparano (Miami). The news came about a month after the 60-year-old Zimmer first experienced trouble with his right eye. He complained of vision problems a couple of days before the Oct. 31 contest at Chicago and scratched the eye inadvertently during that game. That prompted team doctors to send him for further examination, which led to a diagnosis of a torn retina. He had a procedure done Nov. 1 and another one Nov. 8, which left his right eye noticeably red. It had cleared up signnificantly in recent days, though, but obviously all was not right. Nike Cortez Ultra Moire Summit Blanco/Negro. . Left untreated, retina damage can lead to blindness. After first revealing the issue at his Nov. 2 news conference, Zimmer said hed been watching film with his good eye and using reading glasses to write down notes in preparation for that weeks game. With the Vikings mired in a slump with five losses in the last six games, the hard-nosed Zimmer sure hasnt appeared to back off his approach at all in the desire to help the team get back on track and catch up in the NFC playoff chase. Zimmer mentioned recently hes been arriving at his office even earlier than usual, around 4:15 a.m.Zimmer still keeps a home in suburban Dallas, which is where his son and current Vikings linebackers coach Adam Zimmer lived during his middle school and high school years. Mike Zimmer, while making sure this week to avoid sounding overly nostalgic, listed several people still working in the Cowboys organization he remembers well when asked this week to reflect.Anytime youre somewhere 13 years, Zimmer said, it kind of grooms you into who you are a little bit. LAS VEGAS -- Former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida has received an 18-month suspension for failing a doping test. Juwan Howard Jersey .The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency announced the suspension Wednesday.USADA says the 38-year-old Machida failed an out-of-competition test in April for a prohibited anabolic agent. His suspension was reduced from a standard two-year ban for acknowledging his mistake, USADA says.Machida held the UFCs 205-pound title from 2009-10. Miller finished in two minutes, 6.09 seconds, one day before the first medal race on the Alpine schedule. The 36-year-old American also turned in the top time in Thursdays opening training session. One of the best players who never won a major would love a crack at one now. Colin Montgomerie used to say it was harder than ever to win a major because each year it seemed that Tiger Woods won two of them, Ernie Els, Phil Mickelson or Vijay Singh won another and that left only one for everyone else. Those days, at least for the moment, are gone. Over the last five years, 18 players have won the last 20 majors, none of them named Woods. And the winner? It could be anybody. Darren Clarke won in his 54th major. Keegan Bradley won in his first. Rory McIlroy won when he was 22. Els won when he was 42. The next chance is the 142nd British Open, which returns next week to Muirfield for the 16th time dating to 1892. Muirfield is reputed to be the fairest of the links courses on the rotation, mainly because there are no tricks and very few blind shots. The course consists of two loops running in opposite directions so that golfers will face the wind in every direction by the end of the day. Muirfield is perhaps more predictable than the others. Not so predictable is finding a player at the top of his game. The search ordinarily would start with Woods, and for good reason. The worlds No. 1 player already has won four times this year, and during a two-month span in the spring, he won three out of four tournaments, the exception a tie for fourth in the Masters. Now, more mystery envelops Woods. He offered limited details at the U.S. Open about an injury in his left elbow that had been bothering him for a month. Woods has not played since he tied for 32nd at the U.S. Open, and he cant guarantee hell be at full strength when he arrives at Muirfield. "I would like to be 100 per cent, but I dont know," he said this month. "It depends on how the body heals. Well see how it goes." McIlroy is one of two players to win multiple majors in the last five years -- Padraig Harrington, with back-to-back major wins in 2008 is the other -- only Boy Wonder has become an afterthought this year. After building a big lead atop the world ranking at the close of 2012, he made a wholesale equipment change at the start of the year and has had only one reasonable chance to win, at the Texas Open. After missing the cut at the Irish Open, he said he felt "lost." Graeme McDowell has three wins, second only to Woods this year, though even he isnt sure what to expect. In his last eight tournaments, McDowell has won three times and missed the cut the other five times. At this rate, theres simply no telling what kind of game hell bring to links along the Firth of Forth. "When its been good, its been really good," McDowell said. Graham DeLaet of Weyburn, Sask., is the only Canadian in the British Opens field. If there is a trend in this years majors, it is the emergence of quality players whose careers were elevated by winning a Grand Slam event. Most players would have been devastated to lose a four-shot lead with four holes to play as Adam Scott did last year in the British Open at Royal Lytham & St. Annes. Scott later said he would have been crushed had he been watching a performance like that from home. Poised as ever, he realized he played the best golf for 68 holes and took that to understand he could do it again. Michael Jordan Jersey. And thats what he did, winning the Masters in a playoff to end more than a half-century of Australian misery at Augusta National. Scott hasnt been Down Under to celebrate since he slipped on that green jacket. In his mind, the year was still young. There was much left to achieve, more majors to win. And there is a feeling of redemption he brings to the Open, even though he seemingly atoned for that collapse by winning his first major. "Im really looking forward to going back and trying to get myself in a similar kind of situation, a chance to win the Open," Scott said. "The hardest thing is going to be curbing the expectations right from the start. But its exciting. Every tournament, I feel, is an opportunity for me now ... to just build on this." Not long after winning the Masters, he sent a text to Justin Rose that "this was our time." Rose lived up to his end of the prediction by winning the U.S. Open with three clutch shots at the end for a two-shot win. They have been friends and colleagues throughout their careers, born two weeks apart, both having endured their share of struggles. "It hit me really at the U.S. Open that if youre not willing to experience the heartache and heartbreak of losing a major, then you cant really truly play your best stuff and be free enough in the moment to get it done," Rose said. "If youre kind of apprehensive to what it might feel like to lose, I think for me thats just what struck me. I was good with the fact that you just have to put yourself in that moment time and time again, and be willing to just keep knocking down the door. "Thats kind of what I learned as well from Adam." Woods cant relate to any of this, of course. He won his first major as a pro with a record performance at the Masters. He had the career Grand Slam when he was 24. He was on his way to a calendar Grand Slam in 2002 when Muirfield and some fickle weather stopped him. But he is seeing more players emerge to challenge him -- McIlroy the last two years, Scott and Rose this year. During the 12 years that it took Woods to win 14 majors, only three players who won majors were younger than Woods -- Ben Curtis in the 2003 British Open, Geoff Ogilvy in the 2006 U.S. Open and Trevor Immelman in the 2008 Masters. Since his last major in the 2008 U.S. Open, there have been 12 players younger than Woods who won majors, including six of the last seven. This is as deep and well-rounded as golf has been in years. And Woods isnt getting any younger. "If you look at most golfers, their prime years are usually in their 30s," Woods said. "It takes a while to learn how to win at this level and learn how to do it consistently. I think that youve got to learn what you can and cant do. Theres so much to learn out there, and I think that generally you see some of the guys dont mature into their games until their 30s." That doesnt make this major any easier to predict. Even so, Muirfield has a way of bringing out the best. Dating to World War II, the seven players who won a British Open at Muirfield are all in the World Golf Hall of Fame. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

The 18-year-old American had five birdies in her bogey-free round for a 17-under total of 196. Lee held the overnight lead but mixed three birdies with two bogeys for a 70. ARLINGTON, Texas -- Trying to explain the quick success for Philadelphias Carson Wentz and Dallas counterpart Dak Prescott often comes back to the complementary parts behind both rookies. For Wentz, that means relying on a persistent if not wildly successful running game, and one the NFLs best defenses. For Prescott, it means the leagues top rushing attack fueled by fellow rookie Ezekiel Elliott, the NFLs rushing leader with 703 yards, and a dominant offensive line.If you want to use the term game manager for two quarterbacks who protected the ball at the start of their careers better than any first-year players before them, so be it. Their teams are winning, which makes for quite a story line in a key NFC East game Sunday night.I obviously dont think its a negative way to describe any quarterback, said first-year Eagles coach Doug Pederson, a former NFL QB. If youre efficient throwing the ball, youre not turning the ball over, and youre converting on third downs, then thats a pretty good way to manage the game. When Wentz and Prescott were trading the rookie record for pass attempts without an interception to start a career, this Eagles-Cowboys meeting was a potential target for the return of Tony Romo, who broke a bone in his back in a preseason game. But Dallas 10-year starter has been ruled out for the game despite practicing on a limited basis and for the first time since his fourth back injury in less than four years. So Prescott gets a chance to extend a five-game winning streak that has the Cowboys (5-1) tied with Minnesota for the best record in the NFC.Its going to be big because its the next game, Prescott said. Im not going to really put much into it, the rival or the division opponent. Its a game that I want to win. Every game that I play, Ill be the same way and Ill treat it that way.Things to consider as the Eagles (4-2) go for a fourth straight win at the Cowboys, which would match their longest in the series going back to when Philadelphia won eight straight overall from 1987 to 1991:DEZ RETURNS: Dallas receiver Dez Bryant is expected back after missing three games with a hairline fracture of a bone in his right knee. He said he was ready to play against Green Bay before the bye, but the medical staff opted to give him the extra two weeks of recovery time. The 2014 All-Pro missed sevenn games last year after breaking his foot in the opener and finished with career lows in catches, yards and touchdowns. James Rodriguez Jersey. He scored his only touchdown this season against Chicago when he returned after injuring the knee. Seems like forever. Now its over, Bryant said.THE AGGRESSOR: Pederson describes himself as conservative, but his play calling isnt. Pederson has gone on fourth down with the lead -- the Eagles are 5 for 5 on fourth down. He took a point off the board last week after a penalty and tried a 2-point conversion -- it was successful . Wentz is 3 for 3 for 21 yards on fourth downs and he ran 6 yards on fourth-and-2 against Minnesota.I trust our guys and I trust our offensive line and I think it sends a great message to the rest of the team, to the defense and special teams, Pederson said.PROTECTING THE ROOKIES: The Eagles can trace their success directly to protecting Wentz. Hes been sacked four times total in their four victories and eight times combined in the two losses. Not only have the Dallas blockers created huge holes for Elliott, theyve allowed the second-fewest sacks of Prescott with nine. Four of those came in one game, a fourth-quarter comeback at Washington that was Prescotts first win .SECONDARY SHUFFLE: Eagles Pro Bowl safety Malcolm Jenkins should get more snaps at cornerback because Ron Brooks sustained a season-ending knee injury. Jenkins played more than half his snaps last season in coverage against the slot receiver, so hell help fill Brooks role as the nickel cornerback. When Jenkins shifts to cornerback, Jaylen Watkins will take his spot at safety. I just get bored playing deep sometimes, Jenkins said.MORE QB TIDBITS: Wentz and Prescott are on the verge of breaking the team rookie records for touchdown passes. Wentz will pass Donovan McNabb (eight in 1999) with his next TD pass. Prescott needs two to tie Troy Aikman (nine in 1989). Wentz and Prescott are also 1-2 among rookies in TD passes and passing yards. Wentz has the edge in touchdowns (eight to seven), Prescott the nod in yards (1,486 to 1,324).---AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP-NFL---Follow Schuyler Dixon on Twitter at https://twitter.com/apschuyler Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

UCLA added to its top-five recruiting class Sunday when five-star forward Kris Wilkes committed to the Bruins. Jason Williams Kings Jersey .Wilkes, a North Central High School (Indiana) product, chose the UCLA Bruins over the Indiana Hoosiers and Illinois Fighting Illini.I felt the most comfortable when I went down and felt it was a great school, Wilkes told ESPN.Wilkes, a 6-foot-7 small forward, is ranked No. 14 in the ESPN 100. He took official visits to all three of his finalists in September, but the Bruins emerged as the clear favorite over the past few weeks. UCLA targeted him early in the process, given head coach Steve Alfords roots in the state of Indiana and assistant coach David Graces recruiting efforts.Just watching them play, I see the players got freedom, Wilkes said. And looking at their roster, seeing there was an opening for my position.Wilkes was one of the tougher matchup problems in the 2017 class, being able to score away from the basket against opposing post players as well as on the block against smaller defenders. He averaged 20.0 points and 6.0 rebounds on the Under Armour Association circuit for the Indy Hoosiers AAU program.Wilkes joins a recruiting class that was ranked No. 4 in the country heading into the weekend. Hes the fifth member of the group, following three ESPN 100 prospects -- point guard Jaylen Hands (No. 31), power forward Cody Riley (No. 45) and center Jalen Hill (No. 50) -- and three-star shooting guard LiAngelo Ball, the younger brother of UCLA star freshman?Lonzo. With Isaac Hamilton and Bryce Alford graduating after this season, and Ball expected to leave early for the NBA draft, UCLA needed some scoring punch for the 2017-18 campaign. Wilkes brings that ability, and he should have a starting role immediately in the frontcourt, alongside freshman T.J. Leaf and junior center Thomas Welsh.Hopefully I can make a great impact for them coming in as a freshman, Wilkes said. And with the other players coming, we should be real good. With five players now in the fold, UCLA could be finished in the 2017 class. DENVER -- Marlon Byrd hits better when hes sweating and not shivering. Adidas NMD R1 Køb . He throws more accurately, too, especially since he can feel his fingers. Byrd hit a go-ahead homer in the eighth inning and threw out a runner from right field in the ninth to lead the New York Mets past the Colorado Rockies 3-2 on Thursday in a makeup game for the one that was snowed out on April 17. Give him heat any day, whether its a fastball or the weather. Byrd didnt much care for his last trip to Denver, when the temperature was hovering around 28 degrees and the area was blanketed in snow. A 95-degree day with hardly a cloud in the sky? Now that was much more to his liking. "The cold has never been good for me," Byrd said. "This was nice. Had a real good day to play baseball. To come out with the win was even better." His bat gave the Mets the lead, and his arm protected it. With the Mets trailing 2-1 and a runner on, Byrd drove a fastball from reliever Matt Belisle (4-5) into the left-centre seats. One inning later, the right fielder threw out Michael Cuddyer when he tried to stretch a leadoff single into a double. "Thats that old-school Minnesota Twins baseball," Byrd said of Cuddyer, who began his career with the Twins. "Cuddyer knows how to play the game. He was trying to put pressure on the defence, which I know that he does. I came up and made a decent throw." Byrd practices throwing to the bases all the time. Its really a lost art around the majors, but Byrd makes a point to work on it, just in case of days like Thursday. "He made a good throw," Cuddyer said. "It took a perfect throw to get me and kudos to him, he made it." That was a downer on an otherwise big day for Cuddyer, who had three singles to extend his hitting streak to a franchise-record 24 games. Cuddyer entered the game tied with Dante Bichette before breaking the Rockies mark with a single to centre off Jeremy Hefner on a scorching afternoon. "Anytime you can put your name in any type of record book for a good thing is a good thing," Cuddyer said. "Id trade it for a win, though." The homer by Byrd was about the extent of the offence for New York with star slugger David Wright receiving a rare rest. Hefner drove in the teams other run on a groundout. "Without D-Wright in the lineup, you wonder if were going to score runs," Byrd said. "But we got enough today. Thats the big thing." LaTroy Hawkins (3-1) earned the win with a scoreless seventh and Bobby Parnell closed for his 14th save in 17 chances. The fourth-place Mets finished 7-4 on a four-city road trip that took them to three time zones. They have won eight of 12 overall. The weather was drastically different from the Mets trip to town in mid-April, when the temperatures were bitterly cold. The series opener was postponed, forcing a frosty doubleheader the next day. The game on April 17 was called off, too, leading to New Yorks quick detour to Denver on Thursday after a two-game series in Chicago with the White Sox. This time, the weather was more suitable for baseball. It was tied for the seventh-hottest home game in Rockies history. Colorado was cruising along until the eighth, when shortstop Jonathan Herrera and second baseman Josh Rutledge collided while trying to field Daniel Murphys single up the middle. Murphy stole second and Byrd followed with his 12th homer. It was yet another strong outing from Hefner. He went six innings, giving up two runs -- one earned -- and five hits. "My performances are finally matching up to the expectations," Hefner said. "This doesnt surprise me." Tyler Chatwood took a no-hit bid into the fifth before it was broken up by Zach Lutz, one of four hits the Mets managed off Chatwood. The righty threw a season-high 103 pitches, and his best may have been his last when he struck out Juan Lagares looking on a 92 mph fastball with the bases loaded in the sixth. Earlier in that inning, Chatwood took a line drive off his right leg. After a few warmup pitches, he remained in the game. New York loaded the bases with none out in the fifth, but Chatwood was able to work out of the sticky situation, giving up only one run on a fielders choice by Hefner. Left fielder Carlos Gonzalez ended the threat with a sliding catch in foul territory. "I really didnt have very good command at all today but I was able to keep our team in the game," Chatwood said. "I was happy with it." The Rockies scored twice in the second, when Cuddyer led off with a single and went to third on Wilin Rosarios double. Todd Helton hit a sacrifice fly, and Rosario later scored on a throwing error by first baseman Josh Satin. New York had two former Rockies batting 1-2 in the order in Eric Young Jr. and Omar Quintanilla. Young was acquired by the Mets last week from Colorado after he was designated for assignment. Young received a round of applause from the crowd in his first plate appearance. Hes long been a fan favourite, especially since his dad played in the Mile High City. "Im excited to get a chance to play back here so soon," Young said. NOTES: Mets manager Terry Collins said SS Ruben Tejada (strained quadriceps) might be ready to play in some Gulf Coast League games this weekend. Tejada could head to either Double-A or Triple-A on a rehab assignment after that. ... The Rockies signed INF Reid Brignac to a minor league deal. ... Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki (broken rib) has started some light throwing. Adidas NMD City Sock 2 PK . Tuesdays surgery at Atlantas Piedmont Hospital was performed by Dr. Xavier Duralde and Hawks team physician Dr. Michael Bernot. Trainer Graham Motion scratched Tin Type Gal out of the Lake George Stakes at Saratoga on Friday in favor of Sundays Boiling Springs at Monmouth Park. His handicapping was rewarded as she eked out a neck victory in the Grade 3 turf race for 3-year-old fillies.Tin Type Gal lost position in tight quarters along the inside entering the far turn of the 1-1/8-mile Boiling Springs and briefly dropped back to last position. But jockey Trevor McCarthy found room along the inner rail entering the stretch and the ground Tin Type Gal saved may have made the difference as she turned back Galileos Song, who went out three wide on the far turn.Tin Type Gal, the second choice behind 8-5 favorite Galileos Song, paid $5.80 to win. The top two both finished well with Tin Type Gal stopping the timer in 1:47.71, following a mile in 1:36.08.Shes a very classy filly, McCarthy said. We were in a great spot but got in a little trouble on the turn. The Boiling Springs was her second start this year. She closed out her 2-year-old season with a win in the Grade 3 Miss Grillo at Belmont Park last September. In her seasonal debut, she rallied from ninth to finish fifth, beaten two lengths, in the Wild Applause, a one-mile turf stakes at Belmont Park on June 19.This seemed like a logical spot for her, Motion said. My concern was that last time she was so far out of it and couldnt make up that much ground. She was toward the back today, but she wasnt too far off the lead.Verbouwen, who like Galileos Song is trained by Chad Brown, finished third, 2-1/4 lengths behind her stablemate. Never far back, she raced just to the outside of the winner during the stretch run but flattened out in the final furlong.Hidden Treat was fourth, 1-3/4 lengths farther back. Forwardly placed early, she took the lead from pacesetting Winter entering the stretch but could not sustain her bid. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '
