If you fear world PvP or being ganked while playing, this is most likely the spec for you.

One of the advantages rogues have over other melee DPS classes is a higher level of survival. Rogues who are good apply Sprint, Evasion, and Vanish to full use. The game will decide how you will use each of these abilities. Try to determine the best method to use cooldowns to ensure your survival. Cloak of Shadows is utilized to block any damage or harmful debuffs. If you are learning about a new battle, one of the first steps you should take is learn about which of the boss's spells or debuffs could be cloaked. Evasion is much more situational; however, it can be utilized when possible, since most raid targets can take your life if they hit you with on a melee strike.

Sprint may be activated any time you need to travel a long distance in order to be back within melee range, thereby reducing your distance from the target and increasing the overall DPS. You can also use it to quickly traverse any distance in order to reach the goal that isn't DPS. Vanish's primary function is to act as an attack wipe on all targets. It can be utilized for this purpose on any battle where there is a threat. You should keep Vanish at the start of every fight until you have almost surpassed the threat level of your tank, then you can use it. If the threat of your tank is decent and you are able to overcome it, this should allow you to play the remainder of the battle with no issues, or at most until Vanish comes back from cooldown. Be aware that Sprint and Vanish can both act as snare/root breakers, depending on the level of your talent, and can be very useful to use on trash as well as bosses who have snare abilities.
