Kate Winslet crowned 'most beautiful actress' in Oscars

In a survey of 1,000 British cinema goers by the UK’s leading beauty retailer Escentual.com Ms Winslet, was up against women nearly 20 years younger but won with a clear margin with closest rival Jennifer Lawrence taking 25 percent of the vote.

The voting included all of the nominees for best actress and best supporting actress to find the UK’s choice for the most beautiful actress.

And hotly tipped BAFTA winner Leonardo DiCaprio - himself captivated by Kate’s beauty in the blockbuster Titanic - took another award winning most handsome male.
Both Rooney Mara, 30, and Jennifer Jason Leigh , 54, received two with Brie Larson, 26, bringing up the rear with just one percent of the vote.

In the competition for most handsome actor Leonardo DiCaprio, 41, romped home ahead of The Martian star Matt Damon , 45, in second place with 19 percent.

Tom Hardy, 38 , came in third with 17 percent of the votes, while in fourth place was fellow Brit Christian Bale, 42, with 13 percent.
In fifth place Irishman Michael Fassbender, 38, took 10 percent beating Danish Girl star Eddie Redmayne, 34, who was sixth with five.

Creed star Sylvester Stallone, 69, was seventh with three percent and finally - in joint last with two percent each - were Breaking Bad actor Bryan Cranston, 59, Mark Ruffalo, 48, and Mark Rylance, 56.Escentual.com beauty editor Emma Leslie said: “It is fantastic that Kate Winslet is regarded at the most aspirational beauty in the Oscar’s nominations.

“It’s a really positive sign that women in their 40s are viewed to be in their prime, and Cate Blanchett, 46, and Charlotte Rampling, 70, also were voted in the top four, which hopefully shows film producers that they should cast more mature women in leading and supporting roles.

“Leonardo DiCaprio was voted to be the Most Handsome Actor - I’m sure if he’s knocked back from an Oscar for the fifth time, him winning Most Handsome Actor from the UK’s cinema going public will be a small consolation prize.”
