Wine is a key ingredient in a perfect dinner. A glass of wine will decorate any dish and make it sparkle with completely new gastronomic notes. In general, sometimes you can and even need to pamper yourself.

Unfortunately, when we arrive at a supermarket or wine boutique (which gives many more bonuses to wine karma), the perfect bottle of wine does not start to flicker with lights and sparkle in the rays of designer lamps. You have to find the perfect bottle of wine yourself. For beginners, this is not an easy task.

When buying wine, pay attention to the place of its production . Detailed information is always indicated on the back label (located on the back of the bottle - ed. ) In Russian. So, you should be on your guard with prosecco or chili produced in Central Russia. 

If we are talking about wines not for storage, then choose a year younger and take the bottle not from the shelf under the soffits, because the constant light ages the wine. Check which category the product is designated by: wine is made from grapes by fermentation and does not contain flavors or dyes, unlike, for example, a wine drink. 

The simplest, basic rules for combining wine and food are in color and density . A rich white wine can be served with white meat, while a light red wine can be served with tuna or eel. It is better to accompany sweet desserts with sweet wine, as dry in such a pair will seem aggressive and even bitter. 

Talking about my favorites, it is difficult to limit myself to a couple of names. For a special occasion - Georgian qvevri and barolo, for every day - young "italy" (soave, vermentino, dolchetto).

First of all, you need to understand why you are buying wine . For dinner, for a picnic, just drink with light snacks or as a gift. And of course, it is best to buy wine where there is a specialist who will help you make a choice , especially if you want to choose wine for a specific dish or as a gift.

What to focus on if you choose wine in a supermarket? First, it is worth discarding prejudices about "powder" or counterfeit wines, screw caps and counter-labels in Russian. All wine is real:  there are simply high quality wines, and there are low ones. As a rule, it is a matter of price and place of origin of the wine . Also, many people mistakenly believe that if wine is sold at a special price, it means that something is wrong with it, and they are trying to "drain" it. If the wine is on sale, it means that the store just bought a large volume of wine at a very favorable price. It is in their interest to just sell it quickly.
