For the first time in Worlds history, three South Korean teams will be playing in the semifinals. Delano Hill Seahawks Jersey . After years and years of domination of the game, this is the crowning moment for the region, sending all of its representatives to the final four without being close to elimination in the quarterfinals. The ROX Tigers showcased their fangs on Saturday night, overwhelming Chinas champion EDward Gaming in four games to take the series in convincing fashion. While the two other South Korean clubs in the semifinals, Samsung Galaxy and SK Telecom T1, are cautious counter-punchers, ROX is a team that flips the switch on in the mid game and never looks back. Although ROX can also be considered a counter-attack team by sometimes falling behind in the laning phase before galvanizing around the 15-minute mark, the Tigers dont play a methodical style. When the Tigers counter-attack, its like an avalanche of punches roaring down atop the suffocated opponent.Samsung likes to counter, teamfight and find the cleanest route to victory. SKT T1 counters and play at a tempo where you can almost find yourself bored with how much control it has over the game. When ROX finds an opening, an opportunity to pounce, its lights out for the other team for all intents and purposes. The South Korean domestic champion will throw everything and everyone in waves of dives and pressure across the map.The first two games against EDG were par the course for ROX. It got ahead through smart roams and ganks heading into the mid game, and it didnt stop putting on the pressure until the gold lead and objective deficit were too much for the Chinese champion to come back from.In the third set, the Tigers, laughing in their seats, went for a more lax drafting style, putting ace top laner Song Smeb Kyung-ho on a stylish individual pick instead of something that could have secured them a simple 3-0 sweep. ROX didnt pick a composition with waveclear or any momentum if it fell down early, and EDG was able to punish ROX for playing with its food and push it to a fourth map.On that fourth map, it was back to business for the Tigers. Han Peanut Wang-ho was gifted Olaf for the first time in the series, and the technical jungler was able to take over with his immense pressure in the early game. He ended the game with 11 kills, 0 deaths and a clear victory over the man who was considered his biggest competition for best jungler at Worlds, namely Ming Clearlove Kai. It was a resounding knockout for Peanut and the Tigers as a whole as they stamped their flight tickets to New York City for next weekends clash with rival SK Telecom T1.South Korea as a region is now 24-6 through the first two rounds of the tournament. No other region as a whole (counting CIS and Brazil together as the Wildcard region) is even batting .500 so far. Ethan Pocic Seahawks Jersey . -- When the Florida Panthers fell behind by two goals in the first period to the top team in the NHL, it appeared they were on their way to yet another loss. Nazair Jones Seahawks Jersey .ca looks back at the stories and moments that made the year memorable. http://www.seahawksfansprostore.com/Black-Delano-Hill-Seahawks-Jersey.html?cat=1009 . CHICAGO -- Edwin Jackson listened to music and rode a stationary bike during a rain delay in the sixth inning. Mitchell Trubisky Bears Jersey . When the showers stopped and the tarp was pulled off the field, he was ready to go. Jackson returned to the mound after the 66-minute delay and pitched eight solid innings, helping the Chicago Cubs beat the Milwaukee Brewers 6-1 on Wednesday for their only victory of the four-game series. "It doesnt really affect you," Jackson said, shrugging off the pause for the weather. "Just have to stay warm, stay loose." David DeJesus drove in three runs and Anthony Rizzo hit a two-run homer as Chicago closed out a 14-13 July, its first winning calendar month since it went 15-10 last July. Starlin Castro had two hits, including a solo homer. DeJesus had an RBI single in the fourth and singled home two more in the sixth. He is batting .355 (11 for 31) in nine games since coming off the disabled list. "It was like us trading for a new player when we got DeJesus back in the lineup," manager Dale Sveum said. "I mean he just gives you those quality at-bats." Jonathan Lucroy had two doubles for Milwaukee, driving in Rickie Weeks with a grounder down the first-base line in the eighth. Jeff Bianchi and Caleb Gindl also had two hits apiece. Wily Peralta (7-11) allowed four runs, three earned, and five hits in five innings. He was coming off a rough start at Colorado, when he was charged with five earned runs and seven hits in 3 2-3 innings. "I think I had a better slider than last time," Peralta said. "Off-speed was good too, but I hang a couple of them and I paid for it." The Cubs bounced back from a frustrating doubleheader sweep on Tuesday, when they blew late leads in each game. They also dropped the series opener on Monday when the Brewers scored five times in the ninth inning of a 5-0 victory. Rizzo went deep in the third, driving a 3-1 pitch over the wall in centre for his 15th homer -- matching his career high set a year ago. Castro connected an inning later, making it 3-0 with a drive to the bleachers in left. "Its an ever-going process," said Rizzo, who went 6 for 14 in the series. "You just got to show up every day and prepare, do your best and play hard. Really grind the at-bats and try to take good swings and just go from there." The six runs were more than enough for Jackson (7-11), who allowed eight hits in his longest outing of the season. The right-hander finished July with a 3-1 record and a 1.83 ERA in five starts. "When his commands on, hes going to throw a good game," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said. "He had good command today. I think the last four or five games, hes thrown the ball really well. " The Brewers got a runner to third in the third, fourth and fifth innings and failed to score each time. Lucroy was thrown out at the plate by left fielder Julio Borbon when he tried to score from second on Gindls base hit in the fourth. Chicago and Milwaukee, the two worst teams in the NL Central, did not make a trade on a quiet deadline day throughout baseball. The Cubs and Cardinals talked about veteran catcher Dioner Navarro, but he was still in Chicago at the end of the night. "I think one thing is obvious from today, if you look around the league, is that people hold real tight to their young players," Cubs general manager Jed Hoyer said. "We need to get a lot more of them. That part isnt going to change." There wasnt much left for Hoyer to trade by the end of the month. The Cubs made three major deals in July, trading away pitchers Scott Feldman and Matt Garza, and slugger Alfonso Soriano. They received an array of prospects in return, strengthening their burgeoning minor league system. While Chicago (49-58) tries to avoid a fourth consecutive losing season, Hoyer thinks there is hope for the future. "We never got that close, actually, in the last couple days to doing anything," he said. "The good thing is I feel like we were incredibly productive this month. Made a lot of deals, I feel like we got a lot better as an organization this month." Milwaukee (46-62) traded reliever Francisco Rodriguez to Baltimore last week for minor league infielder Nick Delmonico, but that was it for July. There was thought to be further interest in its bullpen, namely left-hander Mike Gonzalez. Roenicke said he had talked to general manager Doug Melvin in the last few days and wasnt surprised when the non-waiver deadline passed without a deal. "Thats fine with me," Roenicke said. "I know with just moving Frankie how much its changed what I have to do, you know, with the bullpen. Its hard. Its hard when you lose guys." NOTES: The Brewers put RHP Yovani Gallardo on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring, and Roenicke said RHP Tyler Thornburg will take Gallardos spot in the rotation. INF Scooter Gennett, who served as the Brewers 26th man during Tuesdays doubleheader, was optioned to Triple-A Nashville, and then recalled to the major league club. ... Hoyer said the team has talked to the agent for RHP Jeff Samardzija about a contract extension. ... Milwaukee is off Thursday before opening a weekend series at home against Washington on Friday night. ... The Cubs begin a four-game series against Los Angeles on Thursday night, with LHP Chris Rusin (1-0, 2.93 ERA) slated to face Dodgers RHP Ricky Nolasco (6-9, 3.72 ERA). Mitchell Trubisky Youth Jersey . Only Adrian Lewis and Peter Wright have retained 100 per cent records after two weeks of Premier League Darts. Dede Westbrook Youth Jersey . Lewis defeated Dave Chisnall 7-4 while Wright won 7-5 against Raymond van Barneveld but fortunes for the rest of the Premier League players differed. What did we learn from week two in Newcastle? REPORT: MVG, Taylor win Results from PL Darts in Newcastle Power is still scary Highlights as Taylor thrashed Wade James Wades pre-match comments about Phil Taylor still being the scariest opponent to play against proved true, as The Power spooked him with a 7-1 victory. Wade had also mentioned that he has never thrown his finest darts against Taylor, and that sorry run continued.Taylor has been forced to answer questions about his skills but a demolition of the consistent and sturdy Wade is just what he needed to kick-start his challenge for a seventh Premier League title. The respect - and even the intimidation - that he commands from fellow players hasnt yet shown any sign of evaporating and as long as that continues, he will continue to give opponents sleepless nights every week on the Premier League circuit. Phil Taylor claims hes finding happiness at the oche again MVG wont go on a losing runBeating Michael van Gerwen once, as we have previously found out, is an immensely difficult task but toppling him twice is incredibly rare. Can anybody remember two consecutive major defeats for the world No 1? Van Gerwen was handed a surprise defeat by the perennial contender Wade last week so his next opponent was always going to be on a hiding to nothing. Watch MVG defeat Anderson in Newcastle Mardles verdict Anderson felt a MVG backlash, says Wayne Mardle Step forward Gary Anderson, the reigning Premier League and World Championship winner, who is nobodys fool. Yet it was difficult to grasp the concept of Van Gerwen being 0-2 with zero points after a fortnight of the tournament. The mighty Dutchman duly put his foot on the accelerator and motored to a 7-3 victory that was designed to prove a point. You might, just might, defeat him once but dont expect to see Van Gerwen crippled by a loss of confidence anytime soon.Barneys consistent troubles Raymond van Barneveld (left) struggled against Peter Wright Van Barneveld can still fling an arrow with the best of them, and that has shown no signs of changing, but his issues with crossing the finishing line continue. A 7-5 loss to Wright is certainly nothing to be ashamed of but Van Barneveld could have put an early stamp on this seasons Premier League if he followed up last weeks win over Taylor.Winning one, losing one may end up as an effective method of manoeuvring past Judgment Night - after all, it is the business end of the season when results and consistency are demanded. Van Barneveld has all the weapons in his arsenal but his attempts to go on a winning run too frequently fall flat due to one erratic performance.Smith needs a win Michael Smith has lost all three matches so far The Premier League has swallowed up some excellent players with its unforgiving nature and pressure-cooker environment and Smith is in danger of becoming the latest victim. He has lost three matches in two weeks of his debut campaign and, worryingly, looks like a fish out of water.Ask any expert and they will assure you that Smith is one of the brightest prospects in darts and his inevitable ascent up the world rankings will not be affected by his early troubles. Next week he plays fellow struggler Robert Thornton and the result may come down to whoever holds their nerve. Smith needs to put points on the board before this season gobbles him up.The illness bug struck again! Wade (right) was soundly beaten by Taylor when he returned for a second match After Anderson was forced to withdraw at late notice last week, the same problem afflicted Thornton in week two. With just hours remaining he dropped out forcing a frantic reshuffle of fixtures which, for the second week in a row, spelled doom for whoever was forced to step into his shoes.Last week, debutant Smith had to play twice and after losing his opener he looked like he wanted to be anywhere else in the world during his second game of the night. In Newcastle, Wade was the victim but after winning in the evenings first game he was annihilated 7-1 by Taylor. The evidence suggests its a difficult task to return to the oche so soon after leaving it, so the Premier League players will be desperately hoping that nobody is struck down by illness in Dublin next week. The Anahim Lake, B.C., native was stellar in making 39 saves in his home province and Lars Eller got credit for a bizarre short-handed winner as the Canadiens defeated the Canucks 4-1. Alastair Cook has said that the ECB needs to give serious consideration to employing a full-time spin-bowling coach for the national side after the punishment inflicted on the England attack in India.Cook observed how his spinners, specifically Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid, had appeared more comfortable and confident when Saqlain Mushtaq was with the team as a spin-bowling consultant, a stay which ended after the third Test in Mohali and that had already been an extension on the original deal which had only covered the first Test in Rajkot.England have not had a full-time spin-bowling coach since Mushtaq Ahmed ended his tenure in 2014. Saqlain was first used by England last summer when he joined the squad during the Test series against Pakistan and he has made a favourable impression. The coincidence when Saqlain was around and how much better we bowled as a group, thats something the system or whoever needs to look at, in terms of our spinners, Cook said. While Moeen struggled ever to really gain a foothold in the series with the ball, Rashids returns certainly back up Cooks view. Rashid took 18 of his 23 wickets in the series during the three Tests when Saqlain was present. In those matches he averaged 28.67 while in the final two Tests he took five wickets at 69.England used six spin bowlers throughout the series: Moeen, Rashid, Zafar Ansari, Liam Dawson, Gareth Batty and Joe Root. Their combined returns across the five Tests amounted to 40 wickets at 48.10, which was second worst return for a group of English spinners in India, behind the 1992-93 side. On that tour, a 3-0 whitewash, Indias batsmen flayed the frontline combination of John Emburey, Phil Tufnell and Ian Salisbury to such an extent that GGraeme Hick emerged as the leading spinner.Dawuane Smoot Youth Jersey. Salisbury had begun the tour as a net bowler before being drafted into the Test side after Emburey and Tufnell had been treated with disdain in the warm-ups.Significantly, too, the class of 2016 also conceded runs at a higher rate - 3.55 an over - than on any previous tour of India, which meant Cook was unable to rely on them even for control during long days in the field. The lack of control from the spinners had also been exposed during the two Tests in Bangladesh, while there had been the same problem against Pakistan in the UAE last year when Englands quick bowlers had been outstanding but any pressure was released when the spinners bowled.I think everyone can see we are suited to playing in seaming conditions, Cook said. Theres no point hiding behind that fact. These conditions have tested us to our limits and I really dont want to be disrespectful to Mo and Adil but they are not as good as Ashwin and Jadeja yet. They havent quite got the control and consistency, certainly in the first innings when theres not much happening.Mo has done an amazing job for us over a long period in terms of becoming Englands No. 1 spinner. Hes two wickets away from 100 so hes done amazing things and will only get better and better.Without being disrespectful, without two gun, world-class spinners, winning in these conditions is going to be hard. In other conditions with our seamers and spinners, who are decent without being completely world-class, well compete with anyone. But this is as hard as it gets for this side at the moment. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

INDIANAPOLIS -- Bump Day at Indianapolis followed the script. Samaje Perine Jersey . No surprises, no drama and no drivers getting bumped. On a day devoid of tension and rumours, all nine drivers who made attempts on the second and final day of Indianapolis 500 qualifications made it into the 33-car field, led by two young Americans -- Josef Newgarden and Graham Rahal -- who easily had the two fastest cars on the track. "I dont want to sound too confident, but I knew we would be fine," Newgarden said after delivering the days best qualifying run at 225.731 mph. "I think we would have been OK yesterday if we would have had another shot at it." The lone twist might have come if Mexicos Michel Jourdain Jr. actually made a qualifying attempt to get in the race. But after failing to top 220 mph in practice, the discouraged Jourdain had his car towed back to Gasoline Alley. That left it up to Newgarden, the Tennessee native, and Rahal, the son of a former 500 winner, to captivate the fans. Newgardens chance came after he failed to get a second shot to make it in Saturday when he sitting in qualifying line as the gun sounded at 6 p.m. He had to wait another 18 hours and this time, he left no doubt that he belonged. His qualifying speed from Sunday would have been good enough for 21st, the outside of Row 7, if it happened a day earlier. Instead, hell start 25th, the inside of Row 9. Rahal struggled all week -- and not just because he was using a Honda engine. The nine drivers in the first three rows of the three-car, 11-row grid are all powered by Chevrolets. The top Honda qualifier was Canadian Alex Tagliani, the 2011 Indy pole-sitter. Hell start 11th, the middle of Row 4, after going 227.386. Rahal, who drives for his father, Bobby, couldnt quite get his car right. But when it mattered Sunday, Rahal easily made it in with an average speed of 225.007 to claim the No. 26 starting spot -- the middle of Row 9. "Ive certainly had better (weeks), Ive certainly had some that were more challenging," Rahal said after locking up his sixth straight Indy start. "But there have been some mysteries behind a lot of our speed problems. I think the first few days people thought we were being extremely slow, but really we were just being really conservative." They were the lucky ones. Conor Daly, Buddy Lazier and Katherine Legge spent most of the afternoon trying to figure out how to get more speed -- if they had to re-qualify their cars. Daly had a tough week. After flying back from two races in Spain, the airline lost his HANS device, and after Thursdays crash A.J. Foyts crew had to rebuild Dalys car. They were working overtime again Saturday night after Dalys first qualifying attempted was derailed by puffs of smoke coming out of the rear end of the No. 41 car. But the 21-year-old rookie from suburban Indy returned to the 2.5-mile oval Sunday and put his car on the inside of Row 11 with an average of 223.582. "I have to thank the crew for all theyve done," Daly said. "I think they had the car apart at least 15 times after the crash and the problems we had (Saturday)," Daly said. "We got the engine back at about 8:30 last night and they worked late getting it back in." The first nine drivers all qualified on their first attempts, assuring race organizers of a full field. Nobody else even made an attempt. Jourdain Jr. tried everything. Nothing worked, making it the second straight bumpless Bump Day. His decision not to go out eased the tension for Legge, who was hired Saturday by Schmidt Peterson Motorsports and was sitting in line ready to re-qualify when Jourdains car was towed back to Gasoline Alley. The British driver will start on the outside of Row 11 after going 223.176. The days biggest scare came with about 30 minutes to go in practice when Team Penske driver Will Power tapped the wall with his right rear tire. The yellow flag came out briefly but Power was not injured. Fans still had plenty to root for. There was Newgarden, the hotshot 22-year-old who drives for Sarah Fisher, a local favourite; Rahal, the 24-year-old with the familiar last name; and Daly, the new kid on the block with deep ties to the speedway. They also wanted to see if Lazier, the 1996 race winner, would qualify for the first time since 2008. He didnt make it onto the track until late this week, struggled to find speed and got bumped Saturday. He came back Sunday and was the first driver to qualify, getting his fathers No. 91 car into the field with a run at 223.442. Hell start 32nd. The Laziers will be one of three father-son teams starting next weeks race -- joining the Rahals and Michael and Marco Andretti. Organizers believe that is a track record and its already causing quite a stir. "The Rahal name, its a nice perk around here," Graham Rahal said before adding fuel to his budding rivalry with the younger Andretti. "I certainly dont get the pressure that an Andretti does, by any means. How many father-son combos have won it? I think one, right? Andretti cant do that, so, that would be one more that wed get on them." Other notable facts about this years field include: --Scotlands Dario Franchitti and Brazils Helio Castroneves will try to become the first foreign-born four-time winners in Indy history. Three Americans -- A.J. Foyt, Al Unser and Rick Mears -- have won four times. This will be the first time since 1987 that two three-time winners will start the race. Castroneves qualified eighth. Franchitti will start 17th. --Britains Pippa Mann and Brazils Ana Beatriz, of Dale Coyne Racing, will be the first women teammates in Indy history. Mann will make her first start since being injured in the 2011 crash that killed Dan Wheldon and will start 30th. Beatriz will start 29th. Legge and Switzerlands Simona de Silvestro also qualified, giving the race four women starters. --Carlos Munoz, who qualified second Saturday, will be the first rookie to start on the front row since Juan Pablo Montoya in 2000. Both are from Colombia, and Munoz is leading the Firestone Indy Lights series in points. --Daly will be the youngest rookie to start the 500 since Rahal in 2008. Fabian Moreau Youth Jersey ., and Rudi Swiegers of Kipling, Sask., took sixth spot on Saturday in pairs at the NHK Trophy ISU Grand Prix figure skating competition. Montae Nicholson Redskins Jersey . Team Penske has a 2016 championship trophy in its race shop. Jayson Tatum Authentic Jersey .The IndyCar title trophy earned by Simon Pagenaud could be the only one that makes it into the facility this year. After two races in the quarterfinal round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup, both Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski are perilously close to being eliminated. Logano is tied with Austin Dillon for the final spot that would get in on points when the Chase field is cut from 12 to eight following the race next week at Talladega.Logano and Dillon are 13 points behind seventh-place Martin Truex Jr. They are six points ahead of Denny Hamlin, seven points ahead of Keselowski and 25 points ahead of Chase Elliott.Keselowski finished 38th after a bad mistake Sunday in the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway, where he tried to slide in front of Denny Hamlin, got loose and was turned by Hamlin. Keselowskis car was ripped apart by the infield grass. While Keselowski -- who entered the race with a 25-point gap on ninth in the standings -- said just days earlier a driver should know his situation, he didnt account for making a bad misjudgment as he did at Kansas.I probably could have raced less hard with a big points gap coming in, Keselowski said. With this format it is probably the smart thing to do, but I dont want to race like that.I want to race my guts out and go for wins. I dont want to points race. I dont care what the damn format is, I am going to give it my best.Keselowski has won the last two restrictor-plate races, and Logano is the defending winner of the Talladega fall race.I dont think it is a must-win situation, Keselowski said. I am not worried about it. I am going to go there and bust my butt to try to win, but I dont think it is a must-win yet.Logano finished third at Kansas, rallying after a pair of blown tires resulted in a horrible day a week earlier at Charlotte.I race to win, said Logano, who swept the quarterfinal round last year. Thats the way I race. I dont know a different way to race.Thats probably the route Im going to go. Im sure well talk about [strategy] this week. But Im a racer. Both drivers could have benefited if Kevin Harvick, who had an oil pump seal come apart at Charlotte, had not won at Kansas. He would have been seventh in the Chase grid, only three points ahead of Logano, heading into Talladega.[Third] is not disappointing because we still should be proud of the efforts that we had today, Logano said. But it would have been a lot different if he finished second.Penske has won one Cup driver championship -- with Keselowski in 2012. Last year, both Keselowski and Logano advanced to the semifinal round but failed to advance to be among the four drivers eligible for the title at Homestead. If my team keeps putting up this kind of effort, I dont worry about today, Keselowski said. We will win another race. We will win Talladega and other races and be fine.Logano also tried to be a little bit of a cheerleader after Kansas. We came out swinging, Logano said. Its what we had to do. We did everything we were supposed to do today. Our team executed perfectly.?... Overall Im proud of the effort and the job we did.Xfinity Series: Two weeks off to reboundThe Xfinity Series teams opened their semifinal round (their Round of 8) at Kansas but now have two weeks off until resuming their playoffs in Texas. No doubt if teams have something they want to try on a 1.5-mile track and are in desperate need of points, this will be the opportunity. With Kyle Busch winning at Kansas, no one has automatically advanced into the championship round at Homestead-Miami Speedway.Elliott Sadler (second in the race) and Daniel Suarez (third) have 12 points on fifth, with Blake Koch (ninth) ahead by five points. Justin Allgaier (14th) and Erik Jones (15th) are tied for the final spot, with Ryan Reed (16th) down by two, Brendan Gaughan (31st) down by 17 and Darrell Wallace Jr. (33rd) 18 points out.The last thing you want to do is go into this two-week break wondering, Oh man, how bad are we out, what do we have to do at Texas? Sadler said. And [you then] have to stare at the points for 14 days before you can get back into a race car.Suarez will remain busy. He goes to Mexico this week (with a NASCAR video crew in tow) and then will race a truck at Martinsville the following week.Im looking forward to spending a week there and then coming back and spend another off-weekend racing in trucks in Martinsville, Suarez said. Its going to be a good time and Im looking forward to enjoying it. Jayson Tatum Jersey . The first time I really noticed Ravi Shastri was via a scorecard I pored over on June 19, 1983. Shaquill Griffin Womens Jersey . A day earlier, Kapil Dev had authored a cricketing miracle in Tunbridge Wells against Zimbabwe. My dad, my uncle and I were parsing the scorecard to get a handle on how the game had played out.We habitually disagreed on everything cricket, but the family quorum was unanimous on one point - Ravi Shastri, who had scored one run off six balls and given away seven runs in his only over, was a waste of good food. Our judgement was vindicated - he didnt play another game in that World Cup. My sister, who had a poster of Shastri on her bedroom wall - with two unsightly slits in the middle from when she had ripped it out of a magazine without regard to the staples - lost interest. The Benson & Hedges World Championship, two years later, reinforced our visceral dislike. When he scored 2 and 13 in the first two games, we nodded in agreement with common consensus - he was in the team only because of Sunil Gavaskar. When he scored 51 against Australia, we contrasted the 94 balls he faced against Kris Srikkanths innings of 93 off 115 - now thats how you do it. In the final against Pakistan, we vented in disgust as he used up nearly half the innings to stodge his way to 63 not out, mostly by flicking the ball off his hips, while at the other end Srikkanth buccaneered his way to 67 off just 77.My sister ooh-ed in delight as she watched Shastri collect the keys to the Audi that marked his coronation as the Champion of Champions. We three aah-ed in disgust. Dad thought Srikkanth should have got it; my uncle advocated Laxman Sivaramakrishnan; and I made an impassioned case for the charismatic Sadanand Viswanath. Anyone but Shastri, really. He is selfish, we agreed. Limited. Boring. Cant bat. Cant bowl. And in the outfield, god, by the time he condescends to bend down from that great height…Five years later I was a young editor at Mid-Day and Harsha Bhogle was our man in England. Shastri had responded to Graham Goochs monumental 333 in the Lords Test with a century of his own, but was shaded by Mohammad Azharuddins electric 121 off just 111 balls. Then, in the third Test, Shastri batted for nine-plus hours, faced 436 balls, and scored 187.It was a monument to true grit. So? Do you like grit in your eye?Watching Shastri bat is like admiring the Qutub Minar: tall, timeless, solid, Bhogle wrote then. You admire it for the virtues, not for its style.I clipped that piece and mailed it to Dad. I remember the response, in his laboured cursive: Have you seen the Qutub Minar? You can look at it for all of two minutes. After that, its just this thing thats there… In the mental gallery of cricketers I have followed, first as fan and then as reporter, that remark captions the image of Ravi Shastri - just this thing thats there. Who in hell admires something simply because it exists? And yet, even as I attempt to distil my atavistic dislike into words, a contrarian highlights reel plays out in the back of the mind. It starts with a 19-year-old landing in New Zealand on February 20, 1981 - one day before the first Test against Geoff Howarths side. His debut series, which began with a maiden to the New Zealand captain, saw him shade the likes of Richard Hadlee, Lance Cairns and Kapil as the highest wicket-taker on either side.In the space of the next 18 months his grit - that word again - saw him climb up the batting ladder from No. 10, through every single position, all the way up to No. 1. He joined forces with Mohinder Amarnath to save the first Test of the 1984-85 tour of Pakistan, and followed it up with a century, part of a 200-run partnership with Sandeep Patil, in the next. Back home, he scored what was only the second ODI century by an Indian, after Kapils iconic 175 not out against Zimbabwe. And he followed up that century against Australia, in Indore, with another hundred two months later, against England in Cuttack. His 142 in Bombay set up a Test win against England; his encore was another century in the third Test, in Calcutta, that anchored a record-setting 214-run partnership with Azharuddin. He batted on all the five days of that Test, his 111 taking him the better part of seven and a half hours. Those highlights sum up the quintessential Shastri - a monochromatic player whose monumental presence at one end allowed the stars the freedom to shine at the other. But there was more to his play than that single note, just as there was more to his batting than the utilitarian push off the hips, enshrined in lore as the chapati shot. In a Ranji Trophy game in early 1985, he scored his first 100 off just 80 balls and then raced to his double-century in a further 43, including the storied over off left-arm spinner Tilak Raj that disappeared for six consecutive sixes. It was the fastest double-century in first-class cricket then; it remains the joint-fastest till date - who woulda thunk, huh? In the final of the 50th year of the Ranji Trophy, in 1985, he took a match-winning 4 for 91 and 8 for 91 to go with a fighting 76 in the second innings to earn Bombay their 30th title.I can get plenty of first violinists, ace conductor Leonard Bernstein once said. But to find one who can play second violin with enthusiasm - thats the problem. Yet if there is no one to play second fiddle there is no harmony. When he had to, Shastri could step up and lead the orchestra. But he was an equally committed second fiddle - to Srikkanth, Gavaskar, Viswanath, Vengsarkar, Azharuddin and Tendulkar among others with the bat; to the likes of Siva and Maninder Singh with the ball. The highlights reel spins its way to Bridgetown 1989, where Shastri was at the receiving end of one of the greatest sledges ever. It was on a venomous Kensington Oval track, against an attack led by Malcolm Marshall, Curtly Ambrose and Courtney Walsh, abetted by Ian Bishop, the most recent addition to the overstocked arsenal of brutal pace. Facing a 56-run deficit in the first innings, Shastri came out to bat with India 0 for 1 (Sidhu). Marshall, in the midst of a masterclass in the lethal beauty that is true pace, produced a ripper that bored into Shastris groin. The fielders crowded around Shastri as he writhed on the ground. Desmond Haynes bent low and, in a voice of infinite concern, said Ravi, that girl you were to date tonight, can I have her number? You are no use to her now, maan! Shastri laughed as he writhed in agony. And then he got back on his feet and played one of the most defiant knocks by an Indian, ever - an epic that lasted close to seven and a half hours, in which his first 17 runs took nearly three hours, even as Arun Lal, Vengsarkar, Azharuddin, Manjrekar and Kapil were scythed down at the other end. He took everything the pace quartet could throw at him, and ended with a Man-of-the-Match century in a lost cause. The reel winds down in a soft whirr of nostalgia, and the rational part of me recognises that enduring legends have been constructed of less compelling material. Perhaps if he had walked off into the sunset after that last Test, against South Africa in Port Elizabeth in December 1992… Perhaps if he had left me to savour the memories, to miss him a little on the innumerable occasions when the team could have done with a bit of his doggedness, his grit, his guts… Perhaps then, in the light of the rear-view mirror, admiration would have been unalloyed. But no, he came right back, an over-loud presence in the commentary box spraying a limited set of stock phrases, like so many tracer bullets, all over the action. And he reminded me of what he used to do on the cricket field - make very little go a very long way. A rare and valuable quality, no doubt - and I admire hate the man for it.Illogical, yes. Irrational, certainly. But that is how it is, and I cannot explain why. The closest I can get is to recall the English poet Tom Brown. Caught in some schoolboy mischief by John Fell, dean of Christ Church college in Oxford, and challenged to extemporaneously translate a famous Martial epigram to avoid expulsion, Brown produced this:I do not like thee, Doctor Fell The reason why, I cannot tell; But this I know, and know full well I do not like thee, Doctor Fell.Thats my problem - the reason why, I cannot tell. COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- When Mississippi coach Hugh Freeze saw Shea Patterson win a state championship as a high school junior he walked away with a man crush on the quarterback.Safe to say hes still crushing on Patterson after his performance Saturday night.Patterson threw for 338 yards and two touchdowns in his debut and Gary Wunderlich made a 39-yard field goal with 37 seconds left to lift Mississippi past No. 10 Texas A&M, 29-28 on Saturday night. The Rebels pulled the redshirt off Patterson, the highly regarded recruit, to start in place of Chad Kelly, who suffered a season-ending knee injury last week.Ive recruited this kid since he was a ninth-grader and Ive kind of always known that he has that `it quality, Freeze said. The guy just makes plays. He doesnt get rattled a lot.Mississippi (5-5, 2-4 Southeastern Conference) trailed by 15 entering the fourth quarter before Patterson got going.A 13-yard touchdown reception by Josh Reynolds put A&M up 28-19. Patterson then connected with Van Jefferson on a 32-yard reception for his second TD pass of the quarter to cut the lead to 28-26 with 5:17 remaining.A&M (7-3, 4-3) had to punt and Patterson moved the offense into position for Wunderlichs winner. The Aggies had a chance to win it late, but Jake Hubenak had a pass intercepted by Deontay Anderson to secure the victory. Hubenak was making his first start this season in place of Trevor Knight, who injured his shoulder last week.I put it on me, Hubenak said. I think it didnt do a good enough job in the second half.Early in the fourth quarter Patterson looked like he was channeling A&M Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel when he scrambled to one side, avoided the rush and ran the other way before launching a 6-yard touchdown pass to Damoreea Stringfellow to get Ole Miss within 21-13.Its crazy, my first start -- Johnny Manziel was my favorite player growing up, Patterson said. Its ironic that I get my first start at Kyle Field. Its awesome. On their next drive Stringfellow reached out with his right hand and tipped the ball with his fingertips before reeling it in with one hand for an eye-popping 40-yard reception. There were several key points but that was certainly one, Freeze said. Hes one of the most talented kids Ive ever coached ... it was a phenomenal catch.Akeem Judds 21-yard run made it 21-19, but the two-point conversion failed. The Aggies led 21-6 at halftime thanks to two touchdown runs by Keith Ford. Nazair Jones Youth Jersey. he Rebels had turnovers on their first two possessions of the second half, but Texas A&M couldnt convert either of them into points. Patterson threw an interception on the first one and Jason Pellerin was sacked and fumbled after that. They just made some great plays at crucial times and they got one over on us, Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett said.THE TAKEAWAYMISSISSIPPI: Patterson showed why he was the No. 1 rated dual-threat quarterback recruit by Rivals last year, and should make Ole Miss fans excited about his potential for next season. But first hell look to get the Rebels a win over Vanderbilt next week to make them bowl eligible for the fifth straight season.TEXAS A&M: Hubenak couldnt make plays in the second half and the Aggie struggled with tackling yet again. Hell have to improve if Texas A&M hopes to beat LSU in two weeks and salvage this season that started out with six straight wins before the Aggies dropped three of their last four games.INJURY REPORTTEXAS A&M: LB Armani Watts was injured in the first quarter and didnt return. Watts had to be helped off the field and wasnt able to put any pressure on his right leg. Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin did not give an update on his condition.KEY NUMBERSOle Miss outgained A&M 490 to 342 yards and piled up 30 first downs to just 13 by the Aggies. Texas A&M converted just six of its 14 third-down attempts and was 0 for 2 on fourth-down tries. Those two fourth down opportunities ended up costing us, Sumlin said. The ability to get either three points on either one of those, or a touchdown, in a game like that is a big deal.POLL IMPLICATIONSTEXAS A&M: The Aggies will certainly fall a few spots after losing to an unranked opponent. However they might not tumble that far since three teams ahead of them in the poll also lost on Saturday as well as a handful of teams below them.UP NEXTMISSISSIPPI : The Rebels visit Vanderbilt next Saturday.TEXAS A&M : The Aggies take a break from SEC play by hosting Texas-San Antonio next Saturday before wrapping up the regular season against LSU on Thanksgiving night.---More AP college football: www.collegefootball.ap.org and http://www.twitter.com/AP-Top25 Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

According to Pirelli, the prototype is designed to even further protect the tyre from possible consequences generated by accidental multiple impacts on kerbs or other external bodiesPirelli suffered two high-speed tyre failures at Spa-Francorchamps last year, which were traced to debris cutting the surface of the tyre. Since the failures last year, the FIA has enforced Pirellis tyre pressure prescriptions at each round to ensure the teams are running the rubber within the Italian tyre manufacturers recommendations.Friday practice gets underway at Spa at 10:00 local time on Friday morning. Tanoh Kpassagnon Womens Jersey .
