In our present era portraiture has been relegated to a minor art. The portrait survives largely in the wooden paintings commissioned by academic colleges or national portrait galleries from artists who have facility but little flair or psychological understanding or vision.
Photography has replaced painting as the means of choice for portraiture but photography is concerned with capturing the moment. Painting is about the synthesis of time. Photography has replaced painting as the means of choice for portraiture but photography is concerned with capturing the moment. Painting is about the synthesis of time. One of the Savio Volpe owners, Craig Stanghetta, has been designing cool restaurant spaces for some time now. With his theatre background, he sees all the world, or at least his world of restaurants, as a stage. It is actually a wonderful space light, modern, playful, spacious. If one were so vain to care, rooms, like clothes, help a diner to look really good. This room flatters.
It's Stanghetta's first restaurant, but partners Paul Grunberg and Mark Perrier, the chef, are known entities in the industry. Grunberg is co owner of the consistently wonderful L'Abattoir in Gastown. In fact, I didn't cut them much slack and pounced quickly after the restaurant opened in November, pretty sure they'd have the place in good working order. They've been slammed harder than they expected, but they are under control.
Perrier has worked as head chef at Cin Cin, a sous chef at Cibo, apprenticed under David Hawksworth at West and at the two Michelin star Le Gavroche van cleef green necklace replica in London. Perrier's dying to add offcuts like chicken hearts on skewers. He already offers tripe with tripe with pancetta in tomato sauce, which is going over really well with people of European descent.
A small list of cured dishes are the closest thing to starters. A refined white anchovy with lemon sliced carpaccio thin, avocado and pickled chili wasn't exactly family style Monday night food but no complaint here from me. It was bright and fresh and lovely.

We have the family bible and additional We also know we are related to the Shepherds and the Goodmans from Prince Edward. We are very familiar with the families in the Rice/Farmville area; Garnett, Lockett, Bondarant, Farley and others. Many family members are still living in and around Rice, Virginia.
I am positive the spelling you show as Garrett is Garnett. The Garnett's are an old Prince Edward family and still own the Garnett house at Sayler's Creek. I also believe the "T" you show for the Berry decendants are "Js". for Joseph. There has also been a Joseph Berry in the family going back for four generations.

I have this grandfather and great grandfather documented except for Lafayette after 1870 when he arrived in Arkansas at age 22. E E, his son was born in Arkansas near a river in 1882. We think the place he lived was Oak View in Jefferson County, Arkansas, but we cannot find any documentation of them there EXCEPT that at age 19 E. E. was living with a Flynn family from Jefferson County, Arkansas who had settled in Shelby County, Texas. We have not found the name of E E's mother, who may have died when he was under age five, causing him to be sent to grandparents or something similar. His death certificate gave only his father's name. If these names are in your family, please HELP!

I have been researching geneological information on my father's maternal side and recently visited the family cemetary in Madison County, Florida, near Greenville. My father's mother, Mary Jane Southall Cooper Pettis is buried there with her second husband A. J. Pettis. In the next row of graves is buried B. F. (Frank)and Mariah Lowe Southall both originally from the Macon, Georgia area. I believe they are my Great Great Grandparents. I found a copy of a Widow's Application for Pension (Florida) for deceased Confederate soldiers in the name of Mariah Southall. The information on the certificate indicates that they were originally from the Macon Georgia area. B. F. Southall was enlisted in the 4th Georgia Regiment in the Spring of 1862 in "C" Company, under Capt. Folsom. The certificat indicates he was honorably discharged in May 1865 and died July 23, 1901 at his home in Madison County, Florida. In the geneological info on this website , Family Records of Samuel M. and Frank Southall, I noticed that it was believed that "Frank Southall and presumably his wife Mariah, are buried ind the New Redland Cemetary" ( New Redland Baptist Church cemetary in the Rocky Ford area of Lowndes County Georgia. I believe that cartier gold engagement imitation rings is incorrect based on the graves in the Redding Hammock Cemetary near Greenville, in Madison County, Florida. I would be very interested in contacting anyone who is or has been actively researching the family history of B. F. (Frank) Southall. I was surfing the web and I just so happened to come accross a blog in Google groups where a guy named Atkins of that ilk put a link to this forum with a chart transcribed by susan sasek. It had the genealogy of the Alexander family from the year 635 AD. It struck me that this was very important because there is a legend that a chart went missing with the copy how much is cartier love ring Alexander coat of arms on it that had the genealogy of the family on it. In either case I need to findoit about this cahrt. How old is it? Where did it come from? If we cqn authenticate this it would be great.

I have a proverb DNA link to the Sheltons of early New Kent, Va. by DNA and research who married Elizabeth Matlock. Abt. 1760. They had a son James Shelton who married an Elizabeth Thompson(Thomason) place unknown abt. They are listed going to church in Kentucky with Thomas and Sarah Head Watts in Kentucky in 1840. I have no idea who Elizabeth's family might be. I only recently found the grave of her son John Foster Shelton and Martha Bronugh in ft. Worth , Tx. John Foster Shelton's sister is Judith Ballew Shelton Watts. Any help with Elizabeth Thompson Shelton would be greatly appreciated.
My Robert Henderson married Jane Finley 1840 in Montgomery Co IN. I also have an estate for a Joseph Henderson b abt 1780 (according to 1830 cs.) d 1840 Montgomery Co IN. A Wm Henderson bought items at estate sale as did a Robert Henderson. Robert also rec'd money for varios items he had bought for Joseph, including a casket. Robert farmed half of Joseph's land along with a Thomas Orr. According to Montgomery Co IN History, Joseph Henderson, wife Hannah and daughters Matilda and Elizabeth were charter members to the newly organized Presbyterian Church in 1834. Dau. Matilda b. 1808, md Wm Youell McCutcheon and settled in Lewis Co MO. A William H Henderson b 1817, also settled in Lewis Co MO (possibly Matilda's bro). My Robert settled in Monroe Co IA. He is thought to be the son of Joseph Henderson but the name of his mother differs among researcher and there seems to be several different Josephs. I am seeking any info. that may show the relationship between my Robert that md in Montgomery Co IN and Joseph Henderson that died in Montgomery Co IN, 1840.

My Robert Henderson married Jane Finley 1840 in Montgomery Co IN. I also have an estate for a Joseph Henderson b abt 1780 (according to 1830 cs.) d 1840 Montgomery Co IN. A Wm Henderson bought items at estate sale as did a Robert Henderson. Robert also rec'd money for varios items he had bought for Joseph, including a casket.
