Victoria's Ryan Cochrane honours coach with Pan Am gold

Two time Olympic medallist swimmer Ryan Cochrane of Victoria won his first major Games medal since the death of his coach Bennett this year in Victoria to cancer at 51.
Cochrane didn't even bother shaving his beard but still surged to victory in the men's 400 metre freestyle Friday at the 2015 Pan American Games in a Games record 3:48.29, destroying American Matt Patton's previous record of 3:49.77 from the 2007 Rio Pan Am Games. even finished in 3:49.69. "The way Randy set up our work ethic was so that we could do anything, with or without him, and that was on purpose," said Cochrane.

"You fall back to the level of the competition. The world championships [later this summer in Kazan, Russia] are going to be exponentially tougher and I will need to be six seconds faster," noted the starry Islander.
This is the first time Cochrane has competed in the Pan Am Games, an event to which Canada usually sends its "B" teams. But because this is a home Games, Canada is fielding its "A" national teams in most sports. Cochrane is glad he came.

In addition, Victoria would consider selecting other sports it would host, which likely would include rowing, shooting, table tennis, tennis, gymnastics, wrestling, archery, cycling (road and mountain) and triathlon.

Any memorable incident(s) that you would like to share while working on the movie? When we training for the song at my studio, Katrina and the other dancers would tease me. They called me military general and said that they were subordinates. They would stand silently, taking their positions as if they were being punished. They would do this every day and then laugh at me. We had a lot of fun.
How different is belly dancing from other dance forms?
Belly dancing is all about isolating your muscles and being graceful. It is a beautiful dance form as well as a great workout. In belly dancing, you work parts of your body chest, belly and hips.

Court heard that on March 15, 2011, Van Winkle hired Thibodeau to help him move a family from Duncan to Victoria. Thi bodeau and two others were sent to Duncan. They started drinking, ran out of gas and abandoned the truck. Van Winkle had to retrieve his truck and finish the job himself.
That evening, Van Winkle, Thibodeau and three others were partying in the hotel room. Van Winkle, who had consumed cocaine, alcohol and heroin, accused Thibodeau of losing the key to his home, where he lived with his mother and daughter.
Thibodeau, who was smoking crack cocaine and drinking, ignored Van Winkle, Marshall said.
