ALAMEDA, Calif. Wayne Gretzky World Cup Jersey . -- The Oakland Raiders released quarterback Matt Flynn on Monday, just six months after bringing him in to be the starter. Oakland acquired Flynn in April from Seattle for a 2014 fifth-round draft pick and a conditional pick in 2015. The Raiders also reworked Flynns contract to give him $6.5 million in guaranteed money this season. But Flynn was beaten out for the starting job in the preseason by Terrelle Pryor and then fell to third string behind undrafted free agent Matt McGloin last week, leading to his eventual release. "It just didnt work," coach Dennis Allen said. "Terrelle came in and he took over the job. Hes earned the position that hes in. So, we just felt like its probably best to move on from that." Sports Illustrated first reported the move. Flynn made two appearances for Oakland (2-3) for all that money. He came in late in a loss at Denver on Sept. 23, after Pryor was knocked out with a concussion, and then started against Washington the following week. He was booed by the home crowd from the start of that game and struggled mightily as the Raiders lost 24-14. He threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown, lost a fumble in the second half and was sacked seven times as he lacked pocket presence. Pryor came back to regain the starting job and led the Raiders to a 27-17 victory Sunday night over the Chargers as Flynn sat watching. "This kids going to continue to improve," Allen said. "Hes probably leaps and bounds ahead of where we thought he would be at this point in time. The key for him is he continues to work and continues to strive to get better on the little things." After spending four years as Aaron Rodgers backup in Green Bay, Flynn was one of the most sought after quarterbacks on the free-agent market in 2012 based largely on one dynamic start. Flynn threw for 480 yards and six touchdowns in the 2011 season finale for the Packers against Detroit. Flynn had also played well in one start the previous season against New England, throwing for 251 yards and three touchdowns in a loss. Seattle signed Flynn and paid him $8 million last season even though he was beaten out for the starting job by rookie Russell Wilson. That made him expendable and the Raiders acquired him April 1 to be the heir apparent to Carson Palmer. Flynn struggled in training camp with a sore elbow and was eventually beaten out by the vastly improved Pryor, who surprised the Raiders coaching staff and front office with his rapid improvement. Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie has apparently struck out on both of his major quarterback acquisitions this off-season. Tyler Wilson was drafted in the fourth round but was cut at the end of training camp and is now on the practice squad. He paid a heavy price for Flynn, who quickly proved he was not worthy of it. Oakland also reportedly had interest in signing recently released Josh Freeman before he ended up joining Minnesota instead. That leaves Pryor entrenched as the starter for now. Pryor was the final draft pick of late owner Al Davis, taken in the third round of the supplemental draft in 2011. He got on the field once his first season and played sparingly last year before impressing at the start of this season. Pryor has completed 68.3 per cent of his passes with four touchdowns, two interceptions and a passer rating of 97.6 in four starts this season. He also leads the team with 229 yards rushing. Pryor was at his best against the Chargers, completing 18 of 23 passes for 221 yards and no interceptions for a 135.7 passer rating that was the highest for a Raiders quarterback since Rich Gannon in 2002. Since throwing two interceptions in the season opener, Pryor has committed no turnovers in his last three games. NOTES: The Raiders added WR Andre Holmes to the active roster. Holmes was suspended for the first four games for testing positive for PEDs and had a one-week roster exemption after the suspension ended. ... Oakland also waived OL Jack Cornell and have one open roster spot if they decide to add a third quarterback. ... The team reported the signing on its website Thursday, but said Friday the deal was off in "a mutual parting of the ways that had to do with the language of the contract." FLORHAM PARK, N. Jonathan Quick Jersey .J. -- Mike Goodsons strange stint with the New York Jets is over. The troubled running back was released Wednesday after he failed to show up for the teams mandatory minicamp. General manager John Idzik announced that Goodson, coming off major knee surgery and dealing with legal issues, was let go with a designation of "left squad." "Obviously, its disappointing," Idzik said. "Like we do with all of our players, we gave Mike, we feel in good conscience, every opportunity here with the Jets. Unfortunately, it didnt work out and we made the move, ultimately, that we felt was best for the team." Goodson, who signed with the Jets in March 2013, played in just two games for New York before tearing two knee ligaments last October. He faces weapons charges and up to 10 years in prison after being indicted in November. He was found in a car along with an acquaintance with a handgun and a hollow-point bullet in May 2013. He was also suspended the first four games of last season for violating the NFLs substance abuse policy. "Its unfortunate it never worked out," coach Rex Ryan said. "We wish him the best moving forward." On Tuesday, the start of the teams three-day minicamp, Ryan said he didnt know the reason for Goodsons absence and acknowledged that he hadnt spoken to him and wasnt aware of anyone else in the organization having been in contact with the running back. He reiterated that Wednesday, adding that he hasnt seen or heard from Goodson in two or three months. "Theres no question it concerns me," Ryan said. "Ive tried to reach out to him and havent been able to make contact with him." Idzik wouldnt reveal whether he had been in touch with Goodson to inform him of the teams decision. "Suffice to say, we gave Mike, I think, ample opportunity," Idzik said. Goodsons spot on the roster was tenuous entering minicamp. He was sixth on the depth chart at the running back spot, behind Chris Ivory, Chris Johnson, Bilal Powell, Daryl Richardson and Alex Green. It was also uncertain as to how close Goodson was to returning to the field as he rehabilitated his injury, but the Jets expected him to at least be present since minicamp is mandatory for all players. "This league is all based on showing up on time," owner Woody Johnson said before the team announced the move. "One minute later, youre late. You have to respect that. ... Hes a talented player, but youre no good to the team if youre not here." Goodson was the only player not in attendance for the Jets. As recently as April 30, Idzik said the Jets were assuming Goodson would be on the teams roster this off-season. "I would say, just in general, its an accumulation of things," Idzik said. "These arent knee-jerk decisions that you make." Goodson was Idziks first major free agent signing, giving him a three-year deal for $6.9 million. Idzik would not say whether the Jets would try to recoup some of the signing bonus they gave to Goodson. Goodson, 27, was a fourth-round pick of Carolina in 2009 out of Texas A&M. He played three seasons as a versatile pass-catching back and kick returner with the Panthers before spending the 2012 season with the Oakland Raiders. In the first game back since the break, Ovechkin scored the go-ahead goal in the third period and had two assists, and Troy Brouwer had two power-play goals, lifting the Washington Capitals to a 5-4 victory over the Florida Panthers on Thursday night. Nicklas Backstrom and Brooks Laich also tallied for the Capitals and Braden Holtby made 30 saves. Backstrom and Laich each had two assists. Russia was eliminated by Finland in the quarterfinals at the Sochi Games, where Ovechkin had only one goal and one assist. Brad Boyes scored twice for Florida, and Drew Shore and Tomas Fleischmann also had goals. Tim Thomas stopped 27 shots. Ovechkin broke a 4-all tie in the third period when he took a pass from Laich on the right side and sent a one-timer past Thomas at 15:43 for his 41st goal. "I think we had a pretty good game, but a couple of mistakes, a couple of turnovers almost cost us points," Ovechkin said. "But its good we bounced back and finished." Ovechkins goal came just 16 seconds after a great save by Thomas with 4:43 left in the game. Mike Green came in on a breakaway on Thomas, who slipped backward into the crease and stretched out his glove into the net as he fell. Greens shot went right into Thomass glove as he was flat on his back. "I just caught a rut on the ice or something but it turned into a really nice highlight reel save," Thomas said. "I had to make the save because I look like an idiot." Thomas save might have turned the momentum toward Florida but Ovechkin spoiled the effort. "We tied it up, we were fortunate enough for me to make that save, but (after) that type of save, the last thing you want to give up is a two-on-one," Thomas said. The Capitals beat the Panthers for the ninth time in 10 meetings. Florida lost for the sixth time in seven games. For Ovechkin, looking forward might be the best way to handle the disappointment, and this game was a good start. "Its always important when you score goals because youre going to feel great the next day and the next game," Ovechkin said. The Panthers rallied twice from two-goal deficits but it wasnt enough to stop the Capitals. "The guys showed huge character after being down. Jeff Zatkoff Kings Jersey. I didnt like the goals they (Washington) scored, but they fought back and got a goal at the end of the first, we fought back and tied the game up, and we give them two goals again," Panthers coach Peter Horachek said. "We fight back and tie it up, then you give them the winner. Its frustrating." Down 4-2, the Panthers tied it in the first half of the third period with two goals 82 seconds apart. Shore scored a power-play goal at 8:01 with a slap shot. Boyes tied it 4-all when he grabbed his own rebound and put it into the net at 9:23. "We lost our composure a little bit and they were able to capitalize on it," Laich said. Brouwers second power-play goal gave the Capitals a 4-2 lead. Thomas made a pad save on a shot by Ovechkin but lost his stick. Brouwer knocked in the loose puck with 47 seconds left in the second. "Were trying to make a good playoff push and we need everyone to contribute to try and find ways to get points like we did tonight," Brouwer said. The Panthers tied the score 2-2 just 40 seconds into the second. Boyes found a rebound at the right side of the net and poked in the puck. The Capitals regained the lead about three minutes later. Backstrom took a rebound that went off a Panthers defenceman and put it into the net at 3:44. The Capitals scored twice in the first period. During a power play, John Carlson took a shot from the point that was blocked by Thomas. Brouwer grabbed the rebound after it deflected off Laich and backhanded it past Thomas at 5:48 to make it 1-0. Laich then took a cross-ice pass from Ovechkin and scored on a one-timer from the right circle that went over Thomass shoulder at 8:10. The Panthers closed to 2-1 on Fleischmanns goal. Fleischmann took a pass from Jesse Winchester below the left circle and beat Holtby on the stick side at 15:27 of the first for his first goal in 23 games. The Oklahoma City Thunder received a huge boost from a returning Serge Ibaka in Game 3 of the Western Conference finals against the San Antonio Spurs and will try to even the series Tuesday night in Game 4 at Chesapeake Energy Arena. Shayne Corson Jersey . Watch the game live on TSN and TSN GO at 9pm et/6pm pt. The Thunder earned their first win of the set with Sundays 106-97 victory and Ibaka played a big role. After suffering a left calf strain against the Los Angeles Clippers in the previous round, Ibaka was ruled out for the remainder of the postseason. He missed the first two games of the conference finals in San Antonio, but word changed on Friday that the big man had improved tremendously and was considered day-to-day. Ibaka started Game 3 and dominated early, going 4-for-4 from the floor in first quarter. He finished with 15 points, seven rebounds and four blocks in just under 30 grueling, limping minutes. "I was so emotional, but you couldnt really tell because I was on the court," Ibaka said. "I just want to thank my teammates, thank Russell, he tried to get me going early in the game. Kevin (Durant), (Kendrick) Perkins, Reggie (Jackson). I will never stop thanking them for tonight. I will never forget that. It was very special tonight." Without Ibaka, the Thunder allowed the Spurs to shoot at least 50 percent in the first two tilts and San Antonio won them by a combined 52 points. The Spurs shot just 39.6 percent (36-of-91) from the floor in Game 3. Westbrook finished 8-of-19 from the field after missing seven of his first eight shots, netting 26 points to go with eight rebounds and seven assists. Durant added 25 points and 10 boards for the Thunder, who held a commanding 52-36 advantage on the glass. Reggie Jackson, who was inserted into the starting lineup for Thabo Sefolosha, also had 15 in the win. Manu Ginobili nailed six 3-pointers and scored 23 points for San Antonio, which has dropped eight straight to the Thunder in OKC, including the postseason. Tim Duncan added 16 and Kawhi Leonard chipped in 10 in the loss. "I was very disappointed that we didnt come out with more of a foot in the neck sort of an attitude," admitted Spurs coach Gregg Popovich. "They killed us on the board, they beat us on 50/50 balls, and thats very disappointing to me. Thats not the way you approach a game." Ibaka carried OKC in the first quarter, but San Antonio led by one after the first 12 minutes. Westbrook nailed a pair of pull-up triples in the final 30 seconds of the half, including one at the buzzer to give the Thunder a 57-53 cushion heading into the break. Two Perkins free throws at the 8:36 mark of the third capped a 10-2 burst and gave the Thunder a 67-57 cushion. His bonus shots provided OKC its first points not supplied by either Durant or Westbrook since a Jackson floater with 4:01 to play in the second. Ginobili nailed a left wing trey to pull San Antonio within 75-71 with 2:46 to go in the period, but the Thunder extended the margin to 83-76 at the conclusion of the third and then put the game away early in the fourth. Oklahoma Citys lead grew to as many as 20 and the Spurs couldnt get it into single digits. "I think the biggest thing that changed was the intensity on the defensive end," said Durant. "We still turned the ball over more than we should have, but I think we always had great intentions and we moved the ball from side to side tonight." In league history, 94 percent of teams to open a seven-game set 2-0 have gone on to advance. The Spurs sadly know all about the six percent. San Antonio held this exact margin in the 2012 Western Conference finals against Oklahoma City, only to lose the next four and watch the Thunder lose to the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals. After not having a first round selection in his first season as GM, Masai Ujiri has an opportunity to make a mark in his second year with his team holding the no. Justin Faulk Jersey . 20 selection in the NBA Draft. Ujiri joined TSN 1050 to discuss the Raptors draft strategy and whether the team is leaning towards taking a hometown player. He mentioned player position will be a consideration, saying a “big three” would be appealing but at the end of the day one factor will take precedence. “Were going after the best talent available, thats for sure,” Ujiri said, while also commenting that he team is anticipating picking at their 20th spot at this point, but will also stay aggressive if there are opportunities to improve the club. Admitting that Tyler Ennis – who reportedly may fall into the range of where the Raptors are picking – is someone he has his eye on, Ujiri said that Ennis being a Toronto native is something the Raptors view as a positive. “But if hes not the best talent available at that point, then its a different story,” Ujiri said. “Hes a very talented player and hes right there on our board, but who knows what will happen tomorrow.” Besides the draft, Ujiri also weighed in on where the team stands in its negotiations with free agent point guard Kyle Lowry. “Were going to attack it and go after getting something done…Hopefully we can be very fair to Kyle and get him back to leading the Toronto Raptors another season.” Ujiri: Draft strategy, Ennis a possibility? CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Venus Williams couldnt dig herself out of a hole this time and lost to Montreals Eugenie Bouchard 7-6 (6), 2-6, 6-4 at the Family Circle Cup on Thursday. The 33-year-old Williams had fought back in each of her first two matches to advance. She seemed to follow the same game-plan in this one, rallying from a set down to win the second set and lead 2-1 in the third. Thats when the 20-year-old Canadian, took over, breaking Williams serve twice down the stretch including the final game. "I think Ive shown to myself how mentally strong I can be," said Bouchard, seeded sixth at the Family Circle. "Today was really a mental battle. It was a bit ugly at times and tough on the court, but I fought through it." Bouchard finished things off by reaching Williams drop shot and pushing it into the open court for her first victory over the seven-time Grand Slam champion. "She played a lot more consistently than I did," Williams said. "I think my errors really hurt me a lot today. Just a lot of up and down, a lot of errors." Especially in two key stretches when it looked as if the 33-year-old Williams was ready to take control. Bouchard was ahead 5-3 in the opening set when Williams rallied and held two set points in the tiebreaker. But Bouchard won the next four points, including a crisp backhand for a winner to secure the set. When Williams moved on top in the third set, Bouchard did not panic but dug in to move on to her third quarter-final round this year. "Ive just kind of raised my game a little bit and was extra solid on those important points," Bouchard said. Bouchard will next face second-seed Jelena Jankovic, the 2007 Family Circle champion who at No. 8 in world is the highest-ranked player remaining in the tournament. Jankovic defeated Croatias Ajla Tomljanovic 7-5, 6-1. Jankovic has reached the Family Circle quarter-finals in six of the past seven seasons. Shes been beaten by a Williams sister each of the last two years, falling to Venus in 2012 and to Serena in last years championship finals. Jankovic struggled early as the 20-year-old Tomljanovic fought ooff a set point to tie the opening set at 5-all. Justin Faulk Hurricanes Jersey. Jankovic then won eight of the next nine games to move forward. "I missed that overhead on my set point, which was kind of frustrating, and we levelled it at 5 5," Jankovic said. "But I was able to stay calm and regroup and finish that set. So that was very important." Williams defeat was part of a difficult day for past champions of the clay-court event. Along with 2004 winner Williams, two other previous Family Circle champs in Sabine Lisicki (2009) and Samantha Stosur (2010) lost third-round matches. Lisicki, the fourth seed, fell to German countrywoman Andrea Petkovic 6-1, 6-0. Stosur, seeded seventh, was beaten by No. 9 seed Lucie Safarova 3-6, 6-4, 6-4. The loss ends a run of success for the Williams family on the courts here. Sister Serena was the two-time defending tournament champion before losing Tuesday night. Venus played with the Washington Kastles on the green clay to win the 2012 World Team Tennis title. Venus Williams had been bothered by an illness that she said limited her endurance this week. She had to come from behind in her first two matches here to face Bouchard and did not have enough stamina to wait out her opponents solid, flat ground strokes. "That kind of made it more challenging. I mean I think normally I would probably be able to challenge the points a little bit longer and just make her play more shots and just be more willing to play longer points," Williams said. Williams was the 2004 Family Circle champion. She reached the semifinals here last year where she lost to sister Serena, the eventual champion. Others advancing to the round of eight included third-seed Sara Errani, who outlasted Peng Shuai, 7-6 (6), 7-6 (5); unseeded Jana Cepelova, who defeated 13th-seed Elena Visnina 7-6 (4), 3-6, 6-3; and 12th-seed Daniela Hantuchova, who beat Teliana Pereira 6-2, 6-3. Errani rallied in each of her sets to eliminate Peng, the worlds top-ranked doubles player. For Cepelova, it was her second big victory of this event after knocking off world No. 1 Serena Williams in a stunner Tuesday night. Reggie Abercrombie saw a hanging slider, got the barrel of the bat on the baseball and then raised his finger to the sky. Kevan Miller Bruins Jersey . The Winnipeg Goldeyes (10-5) veteran slugger had delivered a monster two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth that gave the Fish a come-from-behind 5-4 win over the visiting Lincoln Saltdogs (6-9). "He kind of got a slider up and I got the barrel on it," said Abercrombie after the game. "Hes a good pitcher, but he made a mistake. You dont plan on this kind of thing happening, but when it happens, its sort of the reason you play baseball. Whenever you can do something like that for your team, its one of the things you try to enjoy." Not only did Abercrombie enjoy it, so too did his teammates, who met him at homeplate after he followed Donnie Webb across the plate. Webb had singled with one out in the bottom, of the ninth to set up Abercrombies heroics. It was a fitting ending to a brilliant pitching performance by veteran Goldeyes left-hander Chris Salamida, a performance that was almost lost. He threw eight innings of three-hit shutout baseball at Shaw Park, but the Goldeyes bullpen couldnt save his victory. Chris Kissock and Brendan Lafferty allowed four runs on five hits and two walks in the top of the ninth, as the Goldeyes blew a 3-0 eighth-inning lead and fell behind 4-3 heading to the bottom of the ninth. Its the first time this season the Goldeyes bullpen blew a save. "After Chris (Kissock) came out of the game, I batted him on the back," said Salamida. "Hell be back tomorrow and hell be great. Its just one of those things. Hell be back, better than ever next time." But thats when Reggie came on and hit his second homer in as many nights. Amazingly, the Goldeyes are now 8-2 this season in games in which theyve hit home runs. With the win, the Goldeyes took over sole possession of first place in the American Associations North Division for the first time this season. "I felt really good tonight," said Salamida. "After that bad start to the season, I made a few adjustments to my mechanics and slowed down my delivery. When you pitch too quickly, it affects other parts of the delivery and thats what contributed to the slow start. Tonight, I just tried to throw strikes and get ahead of hitters. I had only three strikeouts, but I dont really try to get a lot of strikeouts. I try to pitch-to-contact and let my defense do its job and the defense was perfect tonight. I have a great defense behind me." Salamida, who got off to a terrible start this season in his first two outings, pitched eight complete innings, allowing no runs on three hits and only one walk. He retired the first 11 batters he faced and had a one-hitter through six innings. The Goldeyes didnt score much early in the game, but with Salamida dealing, they didnt have to score much.Tyler Kuhn led off the game with a single and scored all the way from first on a double by Jake Blackwood. In the fourth inning, Ray Sadler singled, went to second on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Donnie Webb. And with one out in the eighth inning, Kuhn pounded out his second triple in as many nights and scored on a sacrifice fly by Blackwood. Bellamy (1-0, 6.35 ERA) got the win for Winnipeg, while Marshall Schuler suffered the loss (0-2, 2.35 ERA).The Goldeyes and Saltdogs will play Game 3 of this four-game series on Saturday evening at 6 p.m. at Shaw Park. Jason Jarvis (1-2, 10-39 ERA) will get the start for Winnipeg, while Joe Bisenius (0-0, 4.24 ERA) will take to the bump for Lincoln. Gerry Cheevers Bruins Jersey . Batting in the third inning, Machado twisted his knee while hitting a broken-bat grounder to shortstop. NEW YORK, N. Chris Conner Jersey .Y. - The New York Knicks say forward Andrea Bargnani has a torn ligament in his left elbow and is out indefinitely. Bargnani was hurt Wednesday during a 110-106 loss to Philadelphia when he landed hard while attempting to dunk. He had an MRI on Thursday that revealed the injury. Its the latest injury for the Knicks (15-27), who have lost five in a row and have battled injuries all season. They are already missing forwards Amare Stoudemire and Kenyon Martin from their frontcourt because of sprained left ankles. MUNICH - Bayern Munich finally celebrated winning its 24th German championship on Saturday after the last Bundesliga game of the season. Alexander Semin Hurricanes Jersey . Club captain Philipp Lahm lifted the championship shield to kick off the party in a sea of red and white confetti, after Claudio Pizarros injury time strike secured a 1-0 win over Stuttgart. The traditional wheat-beer showers followed with Pep Guardiola, in particular, singled out for attention by his jubilant players. The former Barcelona coach helped Bayern defend its title with a record seven games to spare in his first season in charge. The effects of the beer showers took their toll on Guardiola when he dropped the championship shield. "Its very nice but its heavy," he said, referring to the 11-kilo trophy. Around 15,000 fans later greeted the side at Marienplatz in the city centre for the presentation of the league trophy from the town hall balcony, following traditional title celebrations. Wearing Bavarian leather trousers like his players, Guardiola told enthusiastic supporters, "I am very proud of this team and we are very proud of you. I love you. Im a Muenchener (person from Munich). Mia san mia!" The party was expected to last long into the night. "You have to celebrate victories and titles," said Bayern sporting director Matthias Sammer, who didnt want to set any limits, despite Bayerns German Cup final clash with Borussia Dortmund in Berlin next Saturday. ANAHEIM, Calif. Kyle Clifford Jersey . -- The Los Angeles Angels have requested waivers on 19-year veteran outfielder and designated hitter Raul Ibanez for the purpose of giving him his unconditional release. The highlight of his brief stay with them was on April 12 when he hit a tying three-run homer with two out in the bottom of the ninth inning against the New York Mets Jose Valverde for his 2,000th career hit. The Angels also optioned right-hander Cam Bedrosian to Double-A Arkansas, after he gave up nine runs, eight hits and seven walks in 5 2/3 innings over his first six big league appearances. Infielder Efren Navarro was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake, and right-hander David Carpenter was added to the major league roster. Ibanez, the second-oldest player in the majors behind Jason Giambi, batted .157 with three homers and 21 RBIs in 190 plate appearances for the Angels after signing a one-year deal for $2.75 million during the off-season. "Rauls going to be tough to replace in the clubhouse. He brings so many intangibles," manager Mike Scioscia said. "Weve got some young kids, but its a tough day for us. Rauls a great competitor and a terrific person, and well definitely miss him. Like anybody, there was disappointment. Hes very accountable. He knows he didnt do what he wanted for us. He took it with what youd expect for a guy with his class." Ibanez career has included three stints with the Seattle Mariners. He also played for Kansas City, Philadelphia and the New York Yankees. The Dutch swept another event, grabbing three more medals in the mens 10,000 meters at Adler Arena. Jorrit Bergsma was the top finisher in Tuesdays event, setting an Olympic record with a time of 12 minutes, 44.45 seconds in the grueling race. Sven Kramer was 4.57 seconds off Bergsmas time, while Bob de Jong finished at a distant 13:07.19 seconds, 22.74 ticks off Bergsmas incredible time. Still, de Jong earned bronze and gave the Netherlands a total of 19 medals in speed skating during these Olympics. Twelve of those medals have been won by the men. It marked the fourth event in Sochi that the Dutch have swept. The women won all three medals in the 1,500 meters, while the men also filled the podium in the 500 and 5,000 meters. Bergsma cllaimed a bronze in the mens 5,000 back on Feb. Peter Budaj Jersey. 8, with Kramer taking gold. However, it was the 28-year-old Bergsma coming out on top Tuesday in a repeat of his first-place finish at the 2013 World Single Distances Championships, also held in Sochi. For Kramer, he may view his silver as a disappointment. The 27-year-old, who picked up his sixth Olympic medal with his second of Sochi, was in line to win this event four years ago in Vancouver, but was disqualified for an illegal lane change. It also was the fourth Olympic medal of de Jongs career and each has come in this event. That includes a gold in 2006 and a bronze four years ago. South Koreas Lee Seung-Hoon, who took gold in Vancouver after Kramers DQ, finished fourth on Tuesday with a time of 13:11.68. American Emery Lehman, 17, finished 10th, one spot ahead of fellow U.S. skater Patrick Meek. NEW YORK -- A day after being shut out on three singles, J. Ilya Samsonov Jersey .J. Hardy and the Baltimore Orioles got blanked for six innings Sunday on what was shaping up as a lost weekend. "We were a little flat. We could all see it, we could all feel it," Hardy said. That all changed in a hurry. Hardy and Adam Jones hit three-run homers during a seven-run burst in the seventh as Baltimore suddenly broke loose, jolting the New York Yankees 7-3 to avert a sweep in a matchup of wild-card contenders. "Hopefully, it jump-starts us in September," Hardy said. The Orioles rallied against Andy Pettitte and a faltering bullpen. Michael Morse lined a leadoff single to begin the comeback from a 3-0 deficit. Acquired from Seattle on Friday, he got two hits in his Baltimore debut. "We just needed a little spark there," Morse said. Hardys shot against Shawn Kelley (4-2) glanced off the glove of right fielder Curtis Granderson and put the Orioles ahead 4-3. After reliever Boone Logan gave up a bunt single and walk, Jones homered to dead centre field came against Joba Chamberlain. "It was tough today. A chance for us to sweep and it is completely on me," Kelley said. The seven runs matched the Orioles biggest inning of the season. It also tied the most allowed by the Yankees in an inning this year. "We needed it big," Jones said. "Things hadnt fallen into place." The Orioles won for the second time in six games on a road trip that includes three more games at Cleveland. The Yankees had beaten Baltimore two in row while extending their home winning streak to six. New York had been 32-0 at home this year when leading by at least two runs, the Elias Sports Bureau said in research provided by the Yankees. Rookie Kevin Gausman (2-3) pitched two scoreless innings after starter Wei-Yin Chen walked a career-high five on a sticky afternoon. Gausmans other win came against the Yankees on June 28 with 4 1-3 scoreless innings. Four Baltimore relievers combined for five shutout innings. Brett Gardner doubled twice and drew a bases-loaded walk for the Yankees. But Robinson Cano and Derek Jeter each struck out three times and Alfonso Soriano was thrown out at first on a sensational play by charging third baseman Manny Machado. Pettitte has beaten Baltimore 29 times in the regular season and playoffs, and seemed to be cruising through six innings. He had walked none, worked around five singles and wasnt in trouble. But Morse and Danny Valencia opened the seventh with sharp singles, and Yankees manager Joe Girardi made the first of his several trips to the mound. "Any time you turn to our bullpen, you feel good about it. It just didnt work out today," Pettitte said. "They send you out there to get guys out and I gave up two hits that started a rally," he said. "You cant second-guess with our bullpen. We have the best bullpen in the league, in my opinion." Not on this day, though. Matt Wieters greeted Kelley with an RBI single. Hardy, who broke an 0-for-13 rut with an earlier single, hit the first pitch for his 24th home run. Granderson got his glove on the opposite-field drive as he ran back and reached above the wall. "I couldnt tell the exact angle of where it landed, but I made a little bit of contact with the ball and a lot of contact with the wall," Granderson said. "Its not a routine play but a chance to make an exciting one." Jones connected for his 28th homer. Soriano hit an RBI single in the third. The Yankees scored two more in the fourth on Gardners walk and a sacrifice fly by Jeter. NOTES: Jeter moved past Bernie Williams for sixth on the Yankees career RBIs list with 1,258. ... LOUIS -- David Ross never expected to be on a World Series podium. That seat is for stars, not for grey-bearded baseball journeyman, not for backup catchers knocked onto the disabled list for much of the summer by foul tips. "The trip Ive taken this year, I never thought Id be here, There were times I was questioning whether my career was over," he said Monday night with a smile that brightened the interview room. "Im playing in the World Series, so just this whole skit is just -- Im up here talking to you guys, this is pretty cool, right?" The very definition of a bench player -- a backup catcher who has never gotten more than 311 at-bats in a season -- Ross got the biggest hit of the year thus far for the Boston Red Sox, nearly completing his long-and-winding trek to a World Series title. Ross pulled a hanging curveball down the left-field line that landed just a few inches fair in the seventh inning, driving in the go-ahead run and boosting the Red Sox over the St. Louis Cardinals 3-1 for a 3-2 World Series lead. Now 36, Rosss sandy-colored beard makes him look more aging rocker than dashing athlete. A veteran of six major league organizations, he signed last November for his second tour with the Red Sox, his team for part of 2008. His season began to come apart on May 11, when he took a pair of foul tips off his mask against Toronto. He went on the DL for two weeks and went into a 3-for-22 slide when he returned. Then he got whacked in the mask by another foul at Baltimore on June 14. "I got home and my wife said, Youre not right," he recalled. "And they did some tests and kind of concluded I wasnt right. Then I tried to come back fast, not giving enough credit to really what a concussion is. As athletes we feel like we can get through anything, and I couldnt. I stunk for a good two weeks, three weeks, and my wife finally was like, If you dont tell the doctors, Im going to." The Red Sox sent him to Pittsburgh to be examined on June 20 by Dr. Mickey Collins, a concussion specialist. Ross didnt play for Boston again until Aug. 20. "We try to do mind over matter sometimes, and the hardest part when youre going through something like that is just you dont have a cast on or you didnt have surgery," Ross said. "I looked fine, but I wasnt right. Its hard to look your teammates in the eye when youre going through something like that and see if youre bowing out or not, with the questions that they have. Because I used to do the same thing. Concussion, just push through it. Youre not tough enough orr something like that. Marcus Johansson Capitals Jersey. " But now he knew what it was like. "Headaches and dizziness and all the symptoms, couldnt ride in a car, couldnt be in crowded places," he said, "but did all the exercises Mickey put me through and slowly came back. And thank goodness my hitting has come around, because I stunk there for a while." With Jarrod Saltalamacchia in a 6-for-32 (.188) post-season slump, Ross got the opportunity of his 12-year major league career. Hes caught Jon Lesters last four post-season starts, impressing Red Sox manager John Farrell with their rapport. "Were all excited for him, and were glad hes doing it and hope he keeps on doing it," first baseman Mike Napoli said. Lester credited Ross for his dazzling performance. "Did a good job of keeping me calm, keeping me in the game," he said. Ross was 1 for 9 in the Series before his fifth-inning single. He stepped to the plate in the seventh against Adam Wainwright following a single by rookie Xander Bogaerts and a walk by Stephen Drew, took a called strike, watched a ball and then fouled off a pitch. When Wainwright left a 79-mph hanger up, Ross pounced. If the ball hadnt bounced into the stands, Drew would have scored, too, but he came around on Jacoby Ellsburys single as Ross was thrown out at the plate by centre fielder Shane Robinson. Ross had never seen himself as a Series star. "Im kind of more of a keep-my-head-down-and-work-hard kind of guy," he said, "Im not the type of player who can plan out all these goals. Thats probably why it hadnt sunk in yet of what all this is, because Im worried about Game 6 already. Theres a pit in my stomach already." After it was over, already showered and dressed for the flight home, he was given a televised postgame news conference. He called it "the signature moment" of his career. "Im just in awe of being in the World Series, really," he said, turning around to look at the MLB logos on the backdrop behind him, as if he wasnt quite sure they were real. "Thats when you see people on TV," he said excitedly. "Im stoked!" Ross has answered questions for 14 minutes, yet he still didnt want to leave the room. "Jon Lester is waiting to come in," announced Phyllis Merhige, an MLB senior vice-president. "You can stay as long as you like." "Can I sit up here while hes up here?" Ross asked. And so he did, sitting alongside Lester and David Ortiz, savoring the night of his career just a little bit longer.Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys ' ' '
