Robert Doyle looks set to retain mayoral robes

MELBOURNE lord mayor Robert Doyle looks almost certain to be returned, but without a majority on the 11 member council, according to early inspection of ballot papers.

As ballots were opened and sorted last night, Cr Doyle looked to be polling well ahead of his rivals, said City of Melbourne scrutineers.

Candidate Anthony van der Craats said: ''We know the results already. Doyle's returned for a second term. He got over 40 per cent in the Lord Mayor's case. That's a clear cut win. He fell just below the 40 per cent in the council".

Cr Doyle's running mate and current deputy lord mayor, Susan Riley, and incumbent councillors Kevin Louey, Jackie Watts and Ken Ong are also expected to be re elected.

Cr Louey came under scrutiny during the campaign for allegedly arranging ''cash for access'' meetings with developers.

New members of Team Doyle will knock off van cleef and arpels between the finger ring likely include Beverley Pinder Mortimer and Arron Wood.

Cr Doyle's main rival, Sotheby's chief knock off van cleef perlee ring replica executive Gary Singer, was likely to poll about 16 per cent, according to the Victorian Local Governance Association's predictions.

Pollster Gary Morgan, who was running with businessman John Elliott, and the Greens' Alison Parkes were heading for 12 per cent of the vote.

Mr van der Craats said former lord mayor Kevin Chamberlin had lost while Carl Jetter was not expected to cross the line.

He predicted shareholder activist Stephen Mayne, the ALP's Richard Foster and two Greens candidates would also win.

Victorian Greens leader Greg Barber agreed that his party would double its representation on the council, with Rohan Leppert set to join Cathy Oke.

''Everybody seems to agree that our primary [vote] is over 17 per cent on the council count, rather than on the lord mayor count,'' Mr Barber said.

''Cathy Oke will definitely be re elected and there's a very good chance, I'd say, of a second Green, being Rohan [Leppert].''

Mr Mayne said that while there was ''a reasonable likelihood'' of him winning, it was still a tight contest between Mr Chamberlin and Mr Leppert.

The former Manningham councillor said that while ''Doyle has won comfortably,'' he would no longer be a ''one man band''.

Postal elections were conducted in all but eight councils that had attendance voting Banyule, Glen Eira, Greater Dandenong, Knox, Moreland, Port Phillip, Stonnington and Yarra. Elections were not held for Brimbank knock off van cleef flower ring council, which is in administration.

Earlier yesterday, voters at some booths were forced to wait more than an hour to cast their ballot after a technical glitch with the electronic voting system.

The digital system, which connects laptops to the Victorian Electoral Commission, is designed to speed up the voting process and prevent election fraud.

Sickly biker gets 18

David Giles has been a Hells Angel for 35 years, though since 2012 as a member of the House Crew. Supreme Court Friday. Back i 2014, his Kelowna chapter brothers Norm Cocks and Rob Thomas got 15 years for manslaughter for their role in killing Dain Phillips after his sons got into a conflict with some young HA associates. almost five years ago. Supreme Court Justice Carol Ross read out her reasons.

"Considering the nature of this transaction, the quantity of drugs involved, the intention for it to be an ongoing venture, Mr. Giles' role and Mr. Giles' personal circumstances, I have concluded that the fit sentence is 18 years," Ross said.

She gave Giles almost seven years' credit for his time in pre trial custody, for a net jail term of 11 years, one month.

Giles was convicted last fall of conspiracy to import cocaine, conspiracy to traffic and possession for the purpose of knock off small van cleef necklace trafficking after he and associate Kevin Van Kalkeren brokered a 2012 smuggling deal with police posing as South American drug lords.

Van Kalkeren pleaded guilty on the eve of his trial last year and got a 16 year sentence.

After months of negotiating and a $4 million down payment, 200 kilograms of purported cocaine were delivered to a Burnaby warehouse on Aug. 25, 2012. Police swooped in and arrested Giles, Van Kalkeren and six others.

Giles's lawyer Paul Gill had argued for a lower term because his client is critically ill with liver disease and needs a transplant.

And he said Van Kalkeren was the real leader of the conspiracy, putting up van cleef and arpels long necklace imitation all the cash and introducing Giles to the undercover cops.

At one point, he told the police that Giles was worldwide president of the Hells Angels a position that doesn exist, Ross said.

While Ross agreed that Giles's health had to be considered, she rejected the argument that he was subservient to Van Kalkeren while making arrangements for the massive drug shipment.

"Once Mr. Giles was recruited to the conspiracy, he acted as Mr. Van Kalkeren's equal partner and was treated by Mr. Van Kalkeren as such," Ross said.

And Giles, who was vice president of the Hells Angels Kelowna chapter at the time, "said his target was to take 500 kilos every three months," Ross noted.

"Mr. Giles repeatedly refers to his market, his buyers, his plans for the distribution of the cocaine."

Prosecutor Chris Greenwood had argued for a term of between 18 and 20 years for the frail, balding Angel.

He said it was clear from what Giles said in intercepted conversations that he had been a major player van cleef inspired necklace copy in the drug trade for years.

Ross said some of Giles's comments were no doubt boasts to impress the undercover police. He finished Grade 5 and was then "committed to a reformatory that has become notorious for abuse."

He went on to foster care and a life of crime, though his last conviction was in 1984 for trafficking. more than a decade ago.

Also sentenced Friday was Shawn Womacks, convicted of possession for the purpose of trafficking after helping unload the cocaine on Aug. 25, 2012.

Ross said an appropriate sentence for Womacks was six years, given that he was only hired as labour and had struggled with addiction for years.

Ringo Starr disgusted

Ringo Starr is disgusted that British jihadis in Syria have been nicknamed 'The Beatles', claiming ISIS is against everything his former band stood for.

The nickname was revealed by a former ISIS captive who said van cleef necklace clover replica the gang of British extremists had been compared to the group from Liverpool because of their accents.

The man thought to be responsible for beheading American journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff has been dubbed 'Jihadi John', while two other British jihadis are being called Paul and Ringo.

Now the drummer has spoken out saying that it is 'bt' that they have these names as it goes against The Beatles' ideology of peace and love.

Mr Starr told the London Evening Standard: 'What they are doing out there is against everything The Beatles stood for.

'If we stood for anything we never stood for that. The van cleef and arpels alhambra turquoise necklace replica four of us absolutely stood for peace and love.'

But the 74 year old admits that he and the only other surviving Beatle Paul McCartney are powerless to stop their names being linked to the fanatics despite their fans' fury over their names being linked to the ISIS members.

Mr Starr won a GQ Man of the Year award earlier this week for his humanitarian work, which sees his Peace and Love fund raise money for war veterans who suffer from post traumatic stress.

Fellow Beatle John Lennon, who died in 1980, was known for his anti war stance and releases songs such as 'Give Peace A Chance', 'Imagine' and 'Merry Xmas (War Is Over)'

Meanwhile an ISIS defector, who has said that British militant Jihadi John was chosen to execute Americans James Foley and Steven Sotloff because it would make other Westerners feel part of ISIS cause.

The former insurgent, in his 20s and now based in Turkey, said Jihadi John helped to showcase ISIS to Western recruits.

He said: 'It is possible that the goal was to project the image that a European or a Western person executed an American so that they can showcase their Western members and appeal to others outside Syria and make them feel that they belong to the same cause and that they too can do anything in support of ISIS in their respective countries.'

It comes as Prime Minister David Cameron today vowed to 'squeeze' ISIS out of existence and indicated that he may be willing to use the RAF to bomb the terrorist organisation.

He also said that the terrorist, known as Jihad John, believed to be responsible for the murder of the two US journalists, will face justice 'one way or another'.

RV Dehumidifiers What type of dehumidifier is best for a recreational vehicle

RV dehumidifiers need to collect pints of water per day, not ounces. RVs can be very large, up to around 400 square feet in floor area. The Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers recommends a minimum capacity of 10 pints per day for a "moderately damp" area of up to 500 square feet. This recommendation applies, of course to dehumidifiers for the house. RVs are frequently knock off van cleef wedding ring price homes but they are not houses and the temperature inside them changes more quickly in response to variations of the outdoor temperature. In combination with the amount of moisture released inside the relatively restricted space of an RV, this accounts for the extreme condensation problems often reported. For this reason I would advise against "mini dehumidifiers" for the RV. There are two types; rechargeable dehumidifiers, which use silica gel to absorb water, and small, electrically powered units, using the "Peltier" process. Neither type can remove more than a couple of pints of moisture per day, typically much less. They are unsuitable for all but the smallest Camper Van and even then more than one may be needed. Specialized dehumidifiers for RV's and boats are available and have the advantage of being short and squat, meaning a low center of gravity, which makes them more stable while a vehicle is moving. An example is the "Mighty Dry DH10". This unit will remove 10 pints per day and is compact and light but retails at around $465 which is a lot of money to pay for a low capacity unit. Even 10 pints per day may be a little less power than you need van cleef cosmos ring knock off in a large RV. If the dehumidifier is too small it will run continuously, pushing up your energy costs. I assume that most folks will be using the dehumidifier while hooked up to an external electricity supply. Units that operate on a 12v supply are unlikely to have the power that you need. For most RV users a room dehumidifier will be fine. Typically the smallest capacity room dehumidifier is rated for 25 pints which will be enough for even the largest RV. Any reputable brand will be OK but, even in the biggest RV, space may be a little limited. A "slim" dehumidifier with a shallow depth will be easier to accommodate and will not project so far into the vehicle. One example is the Soleus CFM 25E which has a depth of only 9.25 inches and is rated down to temperatures of 36 F so will be suitable for cold weather. An alternative is the DeLonghi DD45 model. Although nominally a 45 pint dehumidifier this unit is actually comparable to the Soleus CFM 25E. This apparent anomaly arises from the different testing conditions at which the two units were rated. At the AHAM standard, 80 F and 60% relative humidity, both are 25 pint dehumidifiers. The DeLonghi is a little deeper than the van cleef and arpels lotus ring knock off Soleus, at 11.8inches but can be placed flush against the wall due to the location of the intake and output air vents on the sides. It is less tolerant of cold operating conditions but will function down to 41 F. Another issue of concern for RV users is the noise level produced by a dehumidifier. On this count the Soleus CFM 25E takes the prize. It has three fan speeds and at the lowest setting it generates only 41dB of noise, very quiet for a dehumidifier. One way to reduce noise from a dehumidifier is to switch it off. Of course you would not want to do that but both of the dehumidifiers I have mentioned have adjustable humidistat controls and switch off themselves when relative humidity has been reduced to your chosen level. A dehumidifier with a little more power than you need will run for fewer hours, making less noise and saving you energy. Steve Moore settle lawsuit

TORONTO A settlement has been reached in Steve Moore's lawsuit against NHL forward Todd Bertuzzi, more than 10 years after the infamous on ice attack ended Moore's career.

Geoff Adair, a lawyer for Bertuzzi, confirmed the case has been "settled in its totality" but said the terms are confidential.

The notorious hit happened on March 8, 2004. Bertuzzi, then playing for the Vancouver Canucks, hit Moore from behind, sending the hapless Colorado Avalanche rookie crashing face first to the ice and leaving him with a concussion and fractured vertebrae.

Moore alleges the Canucks had put a bounty on his head following his check that left their captain Markus Naslund injured. Bertuzzi pleaded guilty to criminal assault causing bodily harm for the hit and was sentenced in 2006 to one year probation and 80 hours of community service.

There has been years of legal wrangling since then. The civil case was filed in Ontario court in 2006 but was marred by several delays.

Moore, now 35, never fully recovered from his injuries and was unable to continue his career. In an interview earlier this year, he told The Canadian Press he still suffers from headaches and low energy.

Moore said in the March interview, just a day before the 10th anniversary of the incident, that the lawsuit was not so van cleef and arpels butterfly ring knock off much about the money as being compensated for the loss of his dreams.

"I lost my entire career in my rookie year," he said. "I think any player put in that situation would do the same thing. I can't recover anything else. I can't recover my career, the experience of living out my dream from the time I was two and half years old of playing in the NHL."

It all started on Feb. 16, 2004, when Moore flattened Naslund van cleef and arpels alhambra ring knock off with an open ice hit that put Vancouver's scoring star out with a concussion but was deemed legal by the NHL.

Major retaliation was expected. Vancouver's Brad May was quoted as saying there was a "bounty" on Moore's head. But when the teams next met on March 3, with NHL commissioner Gary Bettman in the house, there were no incidents.

The fireworks came in their March 8 game, a 9 2 Colorado win.

Moore squared off against Matt Cooke in the first period, a fight that was considered a draw. It appeared that was the end of it. But things got nasty in the third frame. Moore was challenged again. He turned away. Bertuzzi skated up behind him, tugging on his jersey, then punching him from behind and falling on top of him as other players piled on.

Moore lay motionless on the ice in a pool of blood before being stretchered off and taken to hospital.

Bertuzzi was suspended for the rest of the regular season and the playoffs, which cost him about $502,000, and he didn't play during the 2004 05 lockout season. But he was reinstated for the 2005 06 campaign van cleef perlee ring replica knock off and has since continued his career, most recently with Detroit.

Talkbacks The problem with Islam

Is the Koran, the Imams, the Ayatollahs, the tenets, the doctrines, all of which create the attitude, "them and us", diamond clover earrings fake which of course is embodied in the concept, Dar el Islam and Dar el Harab.

Time to call a spade a spade and stop the denial. This problem will never go away until a fundamental change in this religion takes place from deep within, an understanding that Islam and its God have no special place in the fundament. As things stand at the moment Islam is "right" and all the others are "wrong", and the duty of Islam is to "correct" all the others.

I agree with your analysis and observations. I am a Muslim and I defy my brothers or anyone to demonstrate to me that what is happening today in the name of Islam is justified in our Holy Koran. Those who kill other Muslims or non Muslims in the name of Islam and call Allah Akbar while doing so, are nothing but lost souls who have been deceived, brainwashed, misled and financed by wicked leaders who have their own political agenda. Ignorance is the worst enemy of Islam. Ignorance leads to poverty and poverty leads to violence. It is time that Muslim leaders around the world address this crucial and threatening jihadist phenomenon and put an end to it van cleef small earrings fake before it mushrooms into a clash of religions and cultures.

Everything that is being touted as achievements in Islam occurred in the first decades after conquering a new land and was entirely the labor of many non Muslims and a few recent converts.

After Islam established itself and the pre Islam people died, all Muslim ruled lands entered a many centuries long period of darkness in civilization that has persisted to this day.

This will not change until oppressive Islam is vanquished from the face of this earth.

Oh, I forgot. There is one great achievement that can be attributed to Muslim Arabs. They gave Algebra its name used today in the world since Al Geabr in Arabic means addition. Other than that the science of Algebra came entirely from the Sumerians, Babylonians, Hindus and Persians prior to Islam's invention by murderer Muhammad's hallucinations due to contracting syphilis.

While 'hills youth' and their circles are definitely a terrorist aberration of Judaism, the settlement movement at large is not. Jews have lived in those areas for thousands of years and had it not been for the settlement movement there would have been no Israel. The fact that Britain and France (with other powers) decided to give the Jewish people only a small fraction of the original Palestine is no reason to make Jews who wish to continue living in the lands Jews always lived in a terrorist or occupying activity especially since there was never a formal state there after the Ottomans.

Hamas leader Ahmad Jabari quoted that prisoners released in the Gilad Shalit deal, were responsible for the killings of 569 israelies.

June 2014: three Jewish teens imitation van cleef and arpels alhambra earrings were kidnapped and killed by Hamas militants. bunch of hipocritas!

There is no legal Protestant or Reform Islam movement that will push aside the primitive Islamic traditions of 1400 years ago in favour of the Scientific Method. These traditions are working against Muslims as far as science and technology is concerned, and keeping them in the stone age, with the great hope of dying and going to paradise. . When it comes to women, Islam is tyrannical, providing no freedom of choice, movement or learning. If Muslim women are oppressed and poorly educated, it creates a mental environment of ignorance that handicaps their children and society at large.

Of course, in a capitalist system, one man's misery is another man's gain. Those who control the Western world do not want Muslims to ever come out of their Islamic fantasy. They are too busy making money selling weapons to fight terrorism. On the internet, there is little to no criticism of Islam, so Muslims believe that their religion is the truth. But the reality is that there is no archaeological or historical evidence to confirm that anybody named Moses, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Noah, Ishmael, King David, King Solomon or Jesus the Christ EVER EXISTED. Most of the characters in the Quran were taken from the Bible, as there are no other sources for these people. It's horrible that human beings are actually killing each other over beliefs that cannot be confirmed to be true.

The world is need of a new human being one who works for the good of all, and not competing for advantage, like a predator animal in a jungle, over the others.

The Life of Medieval Monks and Nuns

In the Middle Ages the church in Europe was a powerful social and political force which rivaled or even surpassed that of earthly kings. The church under the leadership of the Pope in Rome believed that it was above earthly law, and was bound to obey God's law alone.

The worldly power of the church arose from its spiritual power. It taught the doctrine of original sin, which resulted from Eve's disobedience to God when she tempted Adam to eat the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. It instilled in its congregations the need for repentance, obedience to the church, hope in heaven, and fear of hell. They gave up all personal possessions, and dedicated themselves to a communal life of incessant prayer, constant discipline, and Spartan simplicity.

In spite of the demands on devotees, monastic life held great appeal. In twelfth century England alone, according to the YouTube educational video Medieval Realms, there were 750 religious communities which controlled 15% of the land. Sometimes families gave a child to a monastery to be brought up in the monastic life as an oblate. They van cleef and arpels earrings alhambra fake may also have been seeking a respectable alternative to marriage, or have been widows wishing to live in a supportive community. Occasionally, a wife obtained her husband permission to take a vow of chastity, along with an endowment to give to the convent of her choice.

Other women were not quite so willing. When women married, their families were expected to provide them with a dowry, and dowries given to daughters of wealthy families were often significant. Women entering a convent were also required to pay a dowry, but spiritual dowries were not as burdensome. Consequently, wealthy families with many daughters sometimes forced their daughters to enter a convent at a young age in order to avoid exorbitant marriage dowries. Some women may have been escaping forced marriages. In addition, unwed mothers, unfaithful wives and abandoned mistresses were often cloistered in nunneries to avoid scandal.

After living in a monastery or convent for four years monks and nuns were expected to take their final lifelong vows. The consecration of a nun was considered a marriage to God, and was symbolized by the placing of a ring on her wedding finger. Because of the requirement of a spiritual dowry, while a man from any level of society could become a monk, most nuns came from wealthy families. These ladies were known as "choir nuns." Women from poorer families could also join a convent, but they became lower class "servant nuns."Monastic life revolved around the daily prayer ritual. The need for self sufficiency meant that labor was an integral part of the monk devotional life. When not at prayer, vintage alhambra earrings fake there was work to do in the gardens, the laundry or the kitchen. The Grand History of Disco Dance Everyone Should Know About

The history of disco dancing dates back to the 1970s when African American van cleef black onyx necklace imitation and Hispanic communities across the United States popularized disco. A trend that started in Philadelphia, resulted in the popular club culture, flickering multicolored lights and heavily sequined apparel. All through the 1970s, dance enthusiasts gyrated to the tunes of David Mancuso and Manu Dibango. In fact, the 1972 album release by Manu Dibango, called 'Soul Makossa', is recognized as the first disco music record. The trend caught on quick and a dance form just as unique was showcased on disco songs performed by Bee Gees, Donna Summers and The Jacksons.

Disco evolved alongside musical influences by rock, soul, blues, and funk music. Individual styles were choreographed to meet the demands of the soaring sound effects, reverberating vocals and the popular quaver and semi quaver hi hat pattern. Soon the Hustle became a common name for a number of individual moves. This partner dance involved elaborate hand movements and sleek twists and turns. It was not very different from the swing of the 1950s 1960s. Much of the disco came from older dances. The moves were combined forms of the mambo and the salsa. Dancing in a line was popularized first in Florida and New York City, during the early 1970s. The dance incorporated the salsa foot rhythm and in time introduced the hip sways of swing.

A craze was born out van cleef and arpels four leaf clover necklace copy of the line dance in 1975. Actually, the name 'Hustle' was given to the first dance identified with this music genre, after the popular Soul City Symphony and Van McCoy song, 'The Hustle'. Thereafter, dance moves choreographed to promote 'Disco Baby', by David Todd, became a rave in the new discotheques across New York, and subsequently the rest of the world. While the song earned McCoy the title of 'Top Instrumental Artist 1975', the Hustle was taken to the next level. Hustle moves soon resulted in the popular, jerky, back and forth movements of the 'Continental Walk'. The dance moves became as bold as the music, incorporating suggestive jumps, forward and backward, and elaborate clicking of the heels.

The 'Bus Stop' was another line dance that actually took on variations with regards to location and time! All through 1976 and 1977, the dance was popularized via instructional videos and live shows. A variation of the Merengue, Bus Stop involved hip rotations that helped change direction and partner orientation. Subsequently, 'the 'Electric Slide' was born. This freestyle dance genre continues to be the popular Disco dance trend till today. Other developments in the history of Disco dancing include variations known as the 'Tango Hustle' and elaborate versions of the cha cha cha, Rumba, Tango, Bolero and other partner dances. Beyond the Hustle, a number of variants of the line dance and couple dance forms emerged, ensuring that the music and dance genre van cleef and arpels four leaf clover necklace fake popularity fluctuations remained pretty much in sync. This form of dance now includes steps that are common to the Charleston, Foxtrot, Hustle and Swing. Freestyle dancing, with a lot of snap, attitude and periodical acceleration in movements give simple footwork the right rhythm against the backdrop of a fusion of Jazz, Calypso, Rock and Funk. Disco moves are now choreographed to infuse foot work with hip and toe rhythms of the Lindy Hop, Balboa, Jive, Rock and Roll, Hip Hop, Jitterbug and Collegiate Shag.
