Getting +3 points would help that.I miss when we just spent xp for upgrades. Also if they kept this system  they need to include focus points for offseason upgrades like how Aaron Rodgers focused on deep throws last offseason and that he  seems much better in that region up to now this year. I suggest you are essentially describing a sports RPG, and I think that could be cooler as a spinoff 2K game in which it's just one big career mode game. So thatmade some confusing cut scenes. I liked it for all the wrong reasons. Also 15 had a better functioning street ball setup. Do people even want story modes in their own sports games? Sounds like a waste of development time, specially since they have not been done well at all, even though getting Idris Elba and whatever in it. 
I only play the MyPlayer mode. And I have put about 200hrs every into the past couple of iterations. I wish that they made it like an RPG though, and didn't shove their story down our throats. Have any of them been great? I really don't play sports games, but would if it had a good story. I recall a number of those WWE games had some enjoyable story modes.I mean if you like sports films quite some of the sport tories are decent, and fun enough to see / play instead of some sports movie.NBA2k 2018 I think?  I enjoyed that one. Fifa2019 with all the story mode of the kid who gets his first huge football gig - I enjoyed that one.
