ST. Blues Jerseys From China . PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Rays have put designated hitter Luke Scott on the 15-day disabled list because of lower back spasms. The move was announced before Saturday nights game against Toronto. The Rays also reinstated reliever Brandon Gomes, who missed 88 games with a right lat strain, from the 60-day disabled list. They transferred right-hander Jesse Crain from the 15- to the 60-day disabled list. Crain, sidelined by a strained right shoulder, is not expected back until next month. Tampa Bay manager Joe Maddon said centre fielder Desmond Jennings is scheduled to play for Class A Charlotte on Sunday and could rejoin the team Monday. He is out with a broken left middle finger. All-Star pitcher Matt Moore, out since July 29 with left elbow soreness, is set to play catch Sunday after being shut down for three days. OAKLAND, Calif. -- Oakland Athletics fans might have a hard time recognizing their team when it takes the field for the continuation of a four-game series against the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday night. When last seen in Oakland, the As were losing six of nine to the Texas Rangers, Los Angeles Angels and Milwaukee Brewers with the likes of Eric Surkamp and Andrew Triggs making one-third of the starts and Max Muncy manning right field on eight occasions. The As return Wednesday, just six days later, with left-hander Sean Manaea and right fielder Josh Reddick having rejoined the team off the disabled list, and with lefty Rich Hill scheduled to do the same Saturday. Were starting to get a little healthier, which is a good thing, As manager Bob Melvin proudly proclaimed Tuesday before Oaklands 13-11 win over the Giants in San Francisco. And were starting to play a little better.Reddicks return adds a .316-hitting bat to a lineup that is overpowering recent competition. He went 1-for-6 in his first big-league action since May 19.Shortstop Marcus Semien, left fielder Khris Davis and pinch hitter Jake Smolinski hit home runs at AT&T Park in the two wins, extending the Athletics streak of games with at least one homer to a season-best seven.Manaea, who is scheduled to start Wednesday, pitched on the last homestand, but not for long. Staked to a 10-2 lead against Texas in the homestand opener on June 13, he couldnt finish the fifth inning because of a strained left forearm, costing him what surely would have been his third win of the season. Manaea is 2-4 with a 6.02 ERA in nine starts overall, though he is 2/3 with a 4.17 ERA over his past siix outings. Blues Jerseys Outlet. As fans might not recognize the Giants, either, and that is probably a good thing. The Bay Areas other team hasnt played in Oakland since last September, when the Giants added to the Athletics miseries by taking two of three.Right-hander Jake Peavy (4-6, 5.22 ERA) will get the start for the Giants on Wednesday. He no stranger to the As, having faced them four times in his career, going 2-1.The Giants likely will trek to the east side of the Bay Bridge without second baseman Joe Panik, who reported light-headedness before Tuesdays game and had to be scratched from the lineup. The Giants fear the condition was a delayed response to Panik getting hit by a pitch in the helmet on June 18 at Tampa Bay.Panik underwent three concussion tests in the aftermath of the incident and passed them all, which prompted the team to keep him in the lineup. He played seven consecutive games, collecting seven hits, before taking Monday off for non-health reasons. The Giants plugged Ramiro Pena into Paniks spot in the two San Francisco stops in the series Monday and Tuesday, and he produced four hits.Pena will pack a team-leading .412 average for the bus ride into Oakland on Wednesday.Giants manager Bruce Bochy hopes his club doesnt pack anything else from Tuesdays seesaw loss for the short trip. This was one of those wild games, he said after watching his team blow 4-1 and 8-5 leads. EAST LANSING, Mich. Nike Vapormax Flyknit Pas Cher . -- The last time Michigan State lost two games in a row was in 2012, part of a disappointing year in which the Spartans barely qualified for a bowl. Its happened again over the past couple of weekends, but theres still time for Mark Dantonios team to limit the damage. If you saw the 2012 situation, it mirrored some things that are going on right now and the fact that youve got to get off the field on third down, youve got to play well in the kicking game, youve got to make third-down conversions, said Dantonio, who is in his 10th season as Michigan States coach. When you dont ... then you come up inches short. The Spartans fell out of the Top 25 after losses to Wisconsin and Indiana, and theyll host Brigham Young in a tricky nonconference matchup Saturday. Michigan State hasnt lost three in a row since early in the 2009 season.BYU (2-3) is coming off a wild 55-53 win over Toledo in which Jamaal Williams set a single-game school record with 286 yards rushing. He also ran for five touchdowns.Hes got great vision. Jamaal does a great job of setting up blocks, Cougars coach Kalani Sitake said. Going into the season, we thought hes a special one. Hes going to have to have a lot of big games like that to help us win.Williams ranks second in the nation with 703 yards rushing on the season.Weve got to play defense like we know how to play, got to tackle in space, got to cover down the field, Dantonio said. They can run the football, been productive, but other people have held them down as well. Theyve had low-scoring games as well -- two of them in the teens, one of them in the 20s, and a couple of them higher. So well see what we get.Michigan State is 12th in the Big Ten in stopping third downs. Opponents have converted 40 percent of the time. Here are a few things to watch when the Spartans (2-2) host the Cougars:QB QUESTIONSTyler OConnor threw three interceptions in Michigan States 30-6 loss to Wisconsin a couple weekends ago. He threw three TD passes last weekend against Indiana, but that was all the scoring the offense managed.BYUs Taysom Hill has thrown only five touchdown passes with six interceptions this season.PENALTY PROBLEMSMichigan State lost 24-21 at Indiana in overtime. The Hoosiers actually missed a field goal on their overtime possession, but they got another chance after a leaping penalty on the Spartans.Michigan State is averaging 74.5 yards a game in penalties, over 20 yards more than its opponents.LEADERBYUs Kai Nacua is tied for the national lead with four interceptions, and he has 12 in his career. That said, the Cougars have work to do defensively after playing such a high-scoring game against Toledo.Toledo put up too many points and we felt like we could have done better, defensive back Dayan Lake said. It was a disappointing game for us and we have a lot of improvement to do. Were going to work on that. We need to execute. We need to trust our speed.SERIES OPENERMichigan State and BYU are facing each other for the first time. Darren Helm scored on Detroits sixth attempt in the shootout and then Jonas Gustavsson stopped Andrew Shaws shot, lifting the Detroit Red Wings to a 5-4 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday night. The Anaheim Ducks finished the 2013 NHL season with the highest winning percentage in franchise history. Off-Season Game Plan looks at why the Ducks ought to be wary about that record and how it should shape their decisions going forward. Compiling a 30-12-6 record in the shortened season, Anaheim achieved that success despite faring poorly in puck possession metrics. Special teams worked for the Ducks, as they had the fourth-best power play (21.5%) and the goaltending tandem of Jonas Hiller and Viktor Fasth delivered a .917 save percentage. Its not easy to maintain success based on special teams or percentages when the puck possession at 5-on-5 is closer to the lower third of the league. The Ducks have raised expectations, based on their place in the standings, as head coach Bruce Boudreau told the Associated Press, ""We did a lot of good things, but in the end of the day, we fell short, maybe not of the predictions before the year, but once you start gaining that respect with what we accomplished during the course of the year, we didnt get done what we should have got done." What the Ducks have to consider, then, as they build a team for next season is that they are going to need to improve their puck possession at even-strength if they are going to be able to duplicate their success in the shortened 2013 season. After committing their future to Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry, two outstanding players (who are also top-tier possession players), the Ducks have to surround them with suitable complementary pieces. That probably means looking to prospects and younger players to build a group that is capable of achieving success that is sustainable year after year. The TSN.ca Rating is an efficiency rating based on per-game statistics including goals and assists -- weighted for strength (ie. power play, even, shorthanded) -- plus-minus, hits, blocked shots, giveaways, takeaways, penalty differential and faceoffs. (Stats are listed in this format: G-A-PTS, +/-, PIM, GP). Generally, a replacement-level player is around a 60, a top six forward and top four defenceman will be 70-plus, stars will be over 80 and MVP candidates could go over 90. Hes one of four players to have at least a point per game in at least five of the last six seasons; Sidney Crosby, Alex Ovechkin and Evgeni Malkin are the others, so hes keeping pretty nice company. Its that kind of production that he Ducks will need from Getzlaf to provide adequate return on their investment. While his 50-goal season in 2010-2011 may be an aberration, Corey Perry is one of the games top snipers, scoring 190 goals over the last six seasons, ranking seventh over that span. Hes also the only one in the top 30 to have more than 400 penalty minutes (and Perry has 631). The Ducks dropped big money on Getzlaf and Perry and theyll have to be excellent for the Ducks to remain successful. Bobby Ryan struggled in 2013, with his goal (0.24 gpg) and point (0.65 ppg) production at his lowest level since his 23-game stint in 2007-2008. Even so, Ryan has rare finishing ability for a power forward and his 106 goals in the last five seasons is tied for eighth. A rebound year from Ryan would go a long way to helping the Ducks avoid any potential regression pitfalls next season. Though he missed a good chunk of the season with a torn hamstring, Nick Bonino was slotted into a second line role once he returned. Bonino contributed some offence, but he was getting overwhelmed in terms of puck possession. Its possible he can improve, but it may be more important to shelter his usage so that he is better positioned for success. A career-best goal-scoring rate (0.27 gpg) and career-high plus-14 rating, with strong possession numbers, made 2013 one of the best of Andrew Coglianos career. After several years of relatively disappointing production, perhaps this is a step forward for the 25-year-olds career. Though Emerson Etem didnt produce much as a rookie, scoring three goals in 38 games, he matched his goal-scoring output in seven playoff games and showed signs in the Detroit series of being able to have an impact on the game with his speed. Bigger and better things to come for Etem; it may just be a matter of when he gets the right opportunity in the Ducks lineup. A strong puck possession winger who scored five goals in the first four games last season, Daniel Winnik managed a single goal over the next 44 games, falling back to more typical offensive production. A big and aggressive winger who has played five years in the AHL, putting up 124 points and 259 penalty minutes in 139 games over the last two, Patrick Maroon has three points in 15 career NHL games, but hes signed to a very reasonable one-way deal over the next couple seasons, which should give him a decent shot at earning a spot on the roster next season. Tough guy Brad Staubitz saw action in only 15 games last season, so hes a part-timer, but is available should the Ducks be worried about having a dance partner for opposing heavyweights. Kyle Palmieri has some finishing ability, as he has shown in limited ice time, but hes going to have to play more than 12 minutes per game if hes going to provide real offensive value. He has 83 points in 84 AHL games over the last two seasons, so it should come as no surprise that he can score in the NHL too. Hard-nosed winger Matt Beleskey bounces around the lineup, skating on the fourth line one day, then with Getlaf and Perry the next, but last seasons modest production gave him career-high rates in goals (0.19) and points (0.31). For several years now, the Ducks have waited with baited breath for Teemu Selanne to decide if hes going to come back. The 42-year-olds production took a nose dive last season, as he finished the year with one assist in his last 33 games. If Selanne should choose to return, it would at least have to be at a discount from last years contract. The Ducks have enough prospects on the way that they could look to fill holes internally with Peter Holland or Rickard Rakell, both of whom saw action with the Ducks last season, but if Teemu Selanne and/or Saku Koivu move on, the Ducks will have to decide whether they want to go with youth or turn to veteran free agents to fill those holes. He contributed offensively (0.50 ppg was second-highest of his career) and he finished with a career-best plus-19 and didnt miss a game, despite playing the last month of the season with a torn ACL (during which time he was decidely less productive). Beauchemin has long been a reliable top-four guy who can play big minutes -- over 23 minutes per game in each of the last eight seasons -- but he was even better than that in 2013. Sheldon Sourays career looked like it might have been swirling the drain a couple of years ago, when he was banished to the American Hockey League, but hes been pretty effective in two seasons since, scoring 13 goals and registering a plus-30 rating, one of four defencemen to do so. With the older guys taking on big roles, 21-year-old Cam Fowler actually received the least ice time (20:26 per game) of his three-year NHL career. Fowler has the mobility and puck skills to be a factor on the power play and really should be a bigger part of the Ducks defence corps, but an early-season injury in 2013 sidetracked that progress. A physical defenceman, Luca Sbisa continues to evolve and played a career-high 19:50 per game last season. He led Ducks defencemen in hits, but theres something to his subpar possession numbers that would result in having more opportunities. With good size and more than 600 games under his belt, Bryan Allen is a safe and tough defenceman, though he struggled last season and, for the money hes being paid relative to his role, could be expendable. If the Ducks lose Ben Lovejoy and Toni Lydman to free agency, there will be some holes to fill. Top prospects Sami Vatanen and Hampus Lindholm could be ready for their big-league opportunities, but another veteran addition could be sensible. A right-shooting free agent like Ian White, Michal Rozsival or Joe Corvo could make sense at a reasonable price. The 30-year-old showed up, delivered a .921 save percentage and was more effective than starter Jonas Hiller. When it came time to pick a goaltender for the playoffs, however, the Ducks went with Hiller, as Fasth was dealing with a lower abdominal strain late in the season. Jonas Hiller is no slouch in the Ducks net either. He has a .917 save percentage since arriving in the league in 2007-2008, ranking 10th, so hes holding up his end just fine. That the Ducks also have a pair of quality goaltending prospects in the pipeline, however, might make it less likely for Hiller to be part of the Ducks plans when his contract expires following next season. He turns 20 this summer, and the Ducks have quality goaltending already, so theres time for him to develop, but it will be interesting to see how patient the Ducks can be if Gibson continues to dominate when he turns pro. The sixth overall pick last summer, Hampus Lindholm played in the AHL as a 19-year-old and showed solid two-way skills, at least when he wasnt dealing with concussions. A healthy Lindholm should be expected to be a major part of the Ducks blueline, the only question is how soon that time will come. A first-round pick in 2011, Rickard Rakell got into four games with the Ducks before he was returned to the OHL last season. Hes a skilled, two-way player who plays responsibly and has offensive upside. One his NCAA eligibility saga ended, Nic Kerdiles enjoyed a productive freshman season for Wisconsin, scoring better than a point per game. His size and speed figure to translate well to the pro game when that opportunity comes for last summers second-round pick. Drafted in the second round in 2011, slick playmaker William Karlsson had a productive first season in the Swedish Elite League, and can continue to get stronger before he gets his chance in Anaheim. A small defenceman who will always have to deal with bigger forwards that can overpower him, Sami Vatanen is mobile, moves the puck well and showed in his first AHL season that his ability to run a power play came with him to North America after three effective seasons in Finland. With good size and skill, Peter Holland has managed six points in 25 career NHL games, but 105 points in 109 AHL games suggests that the 2009 first-round pick is ready to make the jump and contribute offensively. 23-year-old Danish netminder Frederik Andersen was excellent in his first North American season -- his AHL numbers scream out for an NHL chance -- but hes facing a crowded crease in Anaheim at the moment. A playmaker who had 153 assists -- assists -- in 136 OHL games over the last two seasons, Charles Sarault was an undrafted free agent who will need to show that hes strong enough and willing to go to the dirty areas so that he can be a productive pro, but his offensive upside makes him worth watching as he embarks on his pro career. Sturdy winger Devante Smith-Pelly spent most of 2011-2012 with the Ducks, scoring 13 points in 49 games as a rookie, before spending much of last season in the AHL. Even if he doesnt develop offensively, he plays a physical game that should fit lower on the depth chart. The Ducks have also bolstered their prospect list by signing free agents including lanky centre Antoine Laganiere (Yale), diminutive winger Steven Whitney (Boston College), small Quebec League defenceman Kevin Gagne and, last year, Chris Wagner, a centre out of Colgate. DRAFT 26th - Madison Bowey, Ryan Hartman, Morgan Klimchuk. FREE AGENCY According to www.capgeek.com, the Ducks have approximately $53.2M committed to the 2013-2014 salary cap for 16 players. Photographer Haley Morris-Cafiero made news in 2015 for her self-portrait series that captured how strangers reacted to her appearance. Swingman Team USA Basketball Jerseys . (Images from the series appear above and below.) Earlier this year, from her office at the Memphis College of Art in Tennessee, she spoke with Allison Glock about why we look, when observation became judgment and what the cultural gaze means to women of all sizes.Allison Glock: Youve made a career as a fine art photographer, but stills from your latest series of self-portraits went viral and turned you into a body activist of sorts. People Magazine described the shots as powerful, while other publications have used words like depressing, and heartbreaking. Tell me briefly about the genesis of the Wait Watchers project and the subsequent book.Haley Morris-Cafiero: In 2010, I was doing a series of self-portraits of me in public and social spaces. And it was really just about me and my surroundings. I set up one shot on the steps in Times Square, and then when I got the film back a couple weeks later, I noticed that there was this guy behind me who was fixated on me. Even though were in Times Square. And then it happened again with another person five minutes later on the same roll of film.AG: You were in one of the most visually chaotic and stimulating places in the world, and yet these tourists were more interested in looking at you.HM: Yes.AG: When you first saw the photos, what were your feelings about them? The reactions and expressions of the people observing you were not particularly kind. Was that casual cruelty something that you were already aware was happening as you went through the world?HM: Not to that degree. But I consider it a happy accident.AG: In what way?HM: The way I like to talk about it is this: I dont know what those people are thinking. Theyre strangers. I havent asked them their feelings. But what it does, what I do, is start the conversation about how we look at one another and how we use that gaze to communicate our feelings and formulate our opinions.AG: A quick question about the technical aspect. How are you able to capture the images and be in them simultaneously?HM: The process varies, it depends on the situation. I always set up the camera, the settings, the focus, etc. And then I hand it to an assistant. And I put assistant in quotes because sometimes its a student and I pay them by buying dinner, or if Im traveling with my husband, Ill make him do it although hes not very good. Basically they kind of act like a shutter release. I tell them when to push the button. One time, I put the camera on a bench.AG: So those serendipitous images started you thinking creatively about how women are received in culture?HM: Yes. I decided I wanted to know what happens if you set up a camera in public and just see what happens. And Ive been doing it now for about six years.AG: The publication of your self-portraits inspired thousands of surprisingly negative comments online. People wrote, among other things: Ergh, cankles, she is hideous. Nasty. Get the f--- out of the way fatty. Completely f---ing disgusting. It shouldnt go outside! Ever! Calling another human it seems a pretty extreme reaction to a body type.HM: Honestly, the first time I saw the comments, I laughed. I dont know why, but I think theyre funny. Funny in a sad way. I feel like the calories that it took to type their comments were a waste. The electricity that powered their device was a waste. Because, I dont care. I really dont. I dont care about you, anonymous person, who doesnt mean anything in my actual life.AG: Thats a pretty measured response to such unbridled brutality. Never mind that theyre missing the point of the whole series, but how did you handle that level of vitriol about something as personal as your appearance?HM: Oh, theres even some blog posts dedicated to how fat and ugly I am. The thing is, the project gets under peoples skin and thats good. If I can do more things that get under their skin then great, Im going to go do it.AG: Your art is more than simply provocative though. Its really an examination of how women are publicly shamed with startling regularity. Be it online or in the real world.HM: I do get furious about that, but in a different way. It motivates me. My next project is going to incorporate these comments. Im going to respond in a way that is much better than words. Im going to respond artistically. And they cant do that. I mean, maybe they can, but I doubt it.AG: I dont think a meta conversation through art is something most internet trolls are into.HM: [Laughs] No. What theyre probably going to do is say something equally dumb. Like, troll away, you little jerk. And that means the discussion goes nowhere. Words have one definition. Art, photographs and images have many.AG: One of the many things thats striking about your work is how many different types of people are shown reacting to you. Women and their bodies seem to provoke uninvited response from a wide variety of critics no matter how we look. What do you think thats about?HM: [Laughs] I really believe some of it is because we have an internet culture where were constantly voting. We have Facebook where you like and Instagram where you like. And were voting with just a click, just a touch of our finger. So our ability to vote and to rate things has become incredibly easy.AG: And those votes are assigned value in the world.HM: Yes. These people with metrics of millions of subscribers or millions of followers, theyre the ones who get endorsement deals. Theyre the ones who get opportunities. And then on top of that, the internet provided a landscape for people to be celebrated for being hateful, for being extreme. And one of the ways of getting fame is being extremely mean.AG: When I scroll through the comments in response to your photographs, so many of them include disparaging remarks about what they assume is your personality. The critique goes beyond the aesthetic to character. Its as if we cant separate looking from judging anymore.HM: We cant. Because literally everybody has been asked to offer their opinion. Your opinion is constantly being requested multiple times a day just on social media alone. Its like, follow, like, follow, like, follow. Our society offers this ease in judgment and now an audience to see you judge, and the crazier your judgments are, the bigger your audience gets. I mean, look at Trump.AG: When were you first aware of being appraised because of your body?HM: In terms of my weight, and not just as a female in the world, it was most obvious when I was at art school and someone kept leaving me notes on my bookshelf, like cartoons about fat people. And they would leave me nuts, kale chips, saying, Eat these! They were passive-aggressively criticizing, but they were too chicken to come and say anything to my face. It was frustrating.AG: Especially when they dont know a thing about your story or the particulars of your physical or psychological history.HM: In March this year there was that internet meme about that actor that was on the show Prison Break.AG: Wentworth Miller.HM: Yes, and how hed gotten fat. Photos of him chubby, next to those of him when he was super fit. And he had to step in and say, guess what folks, I have a lot of emotional stuff Im dealing with.AG: He posted, among other things, that hed had depression since childhood and that eating gave him comfort. None of which was really anyones business.HM: It takes a celebrity for fat shamers to be quieted. When they come after everyday people, no one cares.AG: You were athletic as a teen ...HM: I was. Very. I played soccer. Some years I was on as many as three different teams, between the school and local leagues. I started playing when I was about 10. By the time I got to high school, I was playing 40-plus hours a week.AG: What did you like about it?HM: It was thrilling. You just chase the ball like a moth chases light. And that was perfect for me. I liked the constant movement, the constant strategy and being around people that had the same goals.AG: But there ended up being a dark side of that intense focus for you.HM: Yeah. I dont know why or how it happened, but I came up with this goal that I wanted to be able to lay on my side and fit my fist into that indention that happens on your hip bone. I wanted my balled fist to fit in that space.AG: You developed an eating disorder?HM: Yes. And mine wasnt because I wanted to look like somebody else. For me, I became obsessed with these spaces that were created in my body where I was too thin, what the skin looked like between the bones. Those spaces intrigued me. And I was always struggling because I could never get skinnier or bonier the way I wanted because I was playing soccer. So I didnt look like the stereotypical image that we think about with an anorexic. And as a result nobody noticed I would eat very little. I remember drinking non-fat milk from these small cartons. And then I would go play my 40 hours of soccer.AG: How were you able to pull yourself out of that pattern?HM: After a period of years, I just got tired of being tired. I remember that I felt like my veins were full of water and it was just so painful. So at the end of the soccer season, I was graduating high school, and I just quit. Shortly after that, I found out that I had a thyroid disease. When I started college, I didnt gain the freshman 15, I gained the freshman 40.AG: That must have been a rough transition.HM: It was a large weight gain. After that point, I tried yo-yo diets, I did Weight Watchers, all the different diet plans. But the truth for me is that I have to do massive calorie restriction and a lot of exercise in order to lose weight. And after what I went through in high school, I decided I wanted to dedicate my life to finishing school and making art instead. These days, Im active. I go to the doctor. I dont eat poorly and I actually dont eat that much. Im healthy. So Ive decided I will love my body as it is right now. It functions perfectly fine. So Im OK with it.AG: I imagine many people are coming to your work and thanking you for addressing the issues of body policing, the punitive cultural gaze, the unfeasible expectations placed on women of all sizes.HM: Unlike the nasty comments, most of the positive notes that I receive are almost like diary entries. They arent just, Thank you for your project, but more like, I was on the verge of killing myself and then I saw your work and it gave me hope again.AG: Did you expect that sort of outcome?HM: Oh my god, never. Im just an artist. But if its going to impact someone that way, then great. My work has created a place to share very, very personal stories. And I let them do that, because it means a lot to be able to have a space for that. I try to respond to all of the people who write those types of letters.AG: Part of that intense response is probably because the work is so vulnerable. Its a really intimate series.HM: Right. And I think in some way people want to be me, in terms of wherever I am now with accepting myself and what other people think of me. And I do appreciate that. I think about it a lot. The empowerment that comes from trying to be the best person that you can be, and doing the best that you can. It truly doesnt matter what anybody says about you. But unfortunately, I think thats an extremely rare belief.AG: Its much easier to disregard yourself than to disregard the opinions of others. The notion that anyone could even control outside perceptions is deeply flawed. But so many women think, If I could just be ... fill in the blank, then everything would be better.HM: And you know what? I do too. When it comes down to it, people believe that once youre adored, youll have no problems. [Laughs]AG: Its interesting, when I interviewed Melissa McCarthy, she said that she still has people threaten her or send her notes saying shes a bad mother just because of her shape. Even someone as respected and beloved as Melissa McCarthy is still suffering from this unwelcome onslaught of judgment.HM: McCarthy is one of my idols, and not because of her size. Yes, she is a bigger girl. But what I love about her is the way she delivers her lines. Her comedy. She is a true original.AG: And yet, every single profile of her mentions her weight. Because, Hollywood.HM: Oh, I have a Hollywood anecdote! A Lifetime channel movie producer called me once my work became popular. She said wanted to make a story about my life. And Im thinking, OK, lets talk for a moment because this is not really a script-worthy thing that I do. And she said, Oh, no, no, no! Its your essence, your persona. But what we need to do is make it a rom-com. Because youre big gal, and big gals go to rom-coms.AG: No, she didnt.HM: [laughs] Uh, yeah she did. And then she asked if there was a funny story about me and my husband. And I had to explain that my life is the total opposite of a rom-com. So it was hilarious that happened, but at the same time, I just keep thinking to myself, how often are we put into boxes because of something that means absolutely nothing about the person we are inside?AG: Seems like the message of your work may have eluded that Lifetime producer.HM: Yeah. When I talked to her, I was just like, Really? You know what I do, right? But it doesnt matter. Ive been a catalyst to a conversation. I did some calculations and I think the reach has been, through all the media, more than 200 million people. As a photographic artist, you just cant get that in a museum or a gallery. Yes, that reach has come with these comments and these judgments. Yes, there are people stealing my photographs and using them to make fun of me. But Im happy that the conversation started because even if I just helped one person, just one, and that translates to them helping one person, and them helping one person, then thats valuable.AG: Tell me about what youve dubbed the self-improvement project.HM: I started archiving the comments I was getting in response to my work almost immediately. And a bunch of them said, Life would be great, everything would be fine, if you just lost weight. Or if I did this or that. I was getting a lot of advice.AG: Like, you should exercise more. Or get a makeover. Or eat less.HM: Exactly. Then I Googled the most-vain cities in America. Venice Beach, California. Miami Beach. Places like that. And I also Googled cities with the highest percentage of eating disorders, the most being, if you believe the internet, in Boulder, Colorado. And I used those places for my next locations. I went there, and I followed the advice I was given. I wanted to show what happened, for example, if I went to Venice Beach and worked out.AG: And what happened was further ridicule.HM: Yeah.AG: Have these projects made you depressed about humanity?HM: [Laughs] No. Everyone looks at each other. So it didnt surprise me or make me super negative. You know, sometimes Id go to a place and people would walk by and say some of the most horrific things ever to me. But that is just a moment in time. What interests me is when you take a moment in time and extract it from the scene and present it. How do you react to it then? And some people react with, Oh my god, how dare he look at her like that? And other people react with, Oh, youre so ugly, if I were there I would hit you. And all of that interests me. All of it.AG: What next?HM: My book came out in December and Im going to get some exhibitions for the project. I have a show in London, and then Ive been reaching out to high schools and working with young girls and boys on body image and internet bullying. And then artistically, Im doing self-portraits incorporating the people who bully me online. Thats the next project.AG: Reflecting on the reflections.HM: All these layers. You know, when people insult me, they claim freedom of speech. I can say whatever I want to you. But the other half of that is that you also have to accept the consequences of your voice and that speech. When youre an online anonymous profile, you can just delete yourself when things get too heated. But you cant do that in real life. OAKLAND, Calif. Salomon Speedcross 3 CS Uomo Scarpe Grigio Scuro/Nere . -- On a night when the starters for both teams spent most of the night on the sideline, Seattle running back Thomas Rawls made a big statement by getting on the field for only a few plays.Rawls carried twice for 8 yards in his first game in more than eight months since breaking his ankle and the Seahawks finished the preseason by beating the Oakland Raiders 23-21 on Thursday night. The fact that he got in there for a few plays, he got knocked a couple times, its fantastic, coach Pete Carroll said. Its an incredible comeback. Hes worked so hard to get this done and Im just so happy for him.Ryan Robinson returned an interception 42 yards for a touchdown and Troymaine Pope and Alex Collins ran for scores in the fourth quarter to lead the Seahawks to the win.But Rawls performance was the most noteworthy as he proved he is ready to play in the season opener on Sept. 11 and seize the starting job vacated when Marshawn Lynch retired.I think it was important a little bit. Maybe a confidence boost, Rawls said. Even if I didnt play I think I still would have been fine but Im glad I got a chance to get out here with my teammates and contribute. With most of Seattles starters only playing one series and the bulk of Oaklands first-stringers sitting out the entire game, there was little star power on the field. The first touchdown came early in the fourth quarter on the third turnover in a five-play span. After George Atkinson III and Trevone Boykin traded fumbles, Oakland rookie quarterback Connor Cook was pressured on a rollout. Robinson stepped in front of the pass and returned it for the score that made it 9-8.Thats completely on me, Cook said. I have to see that and ditch it. It has to be thrown at his feet or thrown out of bounds, dont try and be a hero.Oakland defensive lineman Denico Autry had a sack, five tackles for loss and a pass defensed. Autry also teamed with James Cowser to get pressure on Boykin in the end zone leading to an intentional grounding penalty that resulted in a safety and the only points in the first half.ANTHEM PROTESTSeahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane joined Colin Kaepernicks national anthem protest. Lane sat on the Seattle bench while the rest of his teammates stood during the anthem before the game. Lane said he did not tell any of his teammates of his plans before the game and that he will continue to do it until he feels justice has been served.I dont mean no disrespect toward anybody, but Im just standing behind what I believe, Lane said.ROOKIE WATCHSeahawks: Boykin was 7 for 15 for 72 yards passing as he showed a good ability to escape pressure and extend plays. He also ran for 24 yards on four carries.Raiders: Cook got his most extensive time of the preseason, coming in at the start of the second quarter in place of Matt McGloin. Cook went 15 for 30 for 145 yards and one interception.INJURY UPDATESeahawks: Rookie CB DeAndre Elliott was taken to the locker room on a cart in the second half with an undisclosed injury.Raiders: OL Austin Howard limped off the field in the second quarter after rolling his ankle and didnt return. Del Rio said he doesnt believe the injury is serious.POSITION BATTLESSeahawks: Garry Gilliam and JMarcus Webb rotated at right tackle as Seattle waits to determine who will start when the season begins.Raiders: Rookies DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard once again got extensive time as they compete to be Latavius Murrays backup. Washington ran for 14 yards on 11 carries and caught four passes for 39 yards. Richard had three carries for 10 yards and one catch for 7 yards.QUOTABLESeahawks: I just like what hes doing and Im standing behind him, Lane said of his relationship with Kaepernick.Raiders: A little up and down. He certainly finished on a high note with the big kickoff return, coach Jack Del Rio on Atkinsons performance after a lost fumble, dropped TD pass, touchdown run and kickoff return for a score.---Online:AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP-NFL Salomon S Lab Sense Ultra .ca looks back at the stories and moments that made the year memorable. What I love most about running is that all you need to get started are your two feet and a heartbeat. Its one of the most travel-friendly sports since theres minimal gear to pack and you can check out the sights and sounds of a new city while getting in your cardio. But as Ive started running more (and as I enter my thirties), Ive begun to feel fatigue in my arches, calves and knees during and after my run. Ive stretched and massaged but realized it may be time to step up my gear beyond functional and fun sneakers -- its time to upgrade my socks as well.Compression gear functions as a base layer thats extra snug in specific areas. It supposedly helps increase blood flow and reduces lactic acid build-up -- which in turn could diminish my fatigue and speed up my post-run recovery. Ive worn other compression gear like leggings and shorts in the past, so when PRO Compression, a sock-specific company, sent me a few pairs, I was excited and curious to see if it could be the cure to my runners fatigue. The detailsThe socks I tested out were the PRO Compression Marathon Elite socks, the top-of-the-line model which retails for $55. They offer graduated compression, meaning the compression decreases as you move up the leg and closer to your heart. (The idea is that it helps push blood flow back towards the heart -- resulting in better circulation and an easier recovery from exercise.)The socks also have calf support and extra padding in the heel and toe for comfort on long runs. Theyre made of a blend of materials that are meant to wick sweat and smells. The testTo get the best overall impreession of the socks I wore them during runs for a few months throughout the summer -- with shorts, under tights -- and in all kinds of weather. Scarpe Salomon Speedcross 3 CS Uomo Nere Argento. I wore a size small in the Marathon Elite socks and have a 5 ? shoe size. I also tried them out post-run and on recovery days.I have rather large calves and often have a problem finding socks that stay up, but these fit snugly -- as compression gear should. The material did seem to wick away sweat and the socks didnt slip down my calves no matter how hot it was or how hard I ran.I noticed that my arches felt more supported, which meant that I could wear more minimal running sneakers with less pain. It did seem like the tight fit made my calves feel oddly energized, but Im not sure if some of that was a placebo effect from wearing the socks.I was most impressed, though, with how the socks felt when worn during recovery. If I wore them post run (and shower), my calves felt hugged -- as though they were being massaged. They felt so good after one run that I wore the socks out to dinner because they felt too comfortable to take off.Worth it?At $55, these socks are priced right in the middle for compression running socks. Ive worn my pairs multiple times and theyve stood up to plenty of wear and washes. If you find yourself getting calf and foot fatigue or soreness from running -- or want to ease your recovery -- the PRO Compression socks are a decent, comfortable investment that Im happy to recommend. COLUMBUS, Ohio -- After Ohio State cruised to a 77-10 victory over Bowling Green in the season opener last Saturday, it stands to reason that coach Urban Meyer would be pretty pleased with the performance. Chance Warmack Jersey .Meyer was happy but not overly impressed with the blowout against the school that gave him his head coaching start.I thought our guys played pretty good. I think it was good, not great, Meyer said.It would be difficult to convince most Buckeyes fans that Ohio State was not great in the Ohio Stadium opener. The point total was the highest in Meyers 15 years as a head coach, and the offense set a school record with 776 total yards. And then there was quarterback J.T. Barrett being named the Big Ten offensive player of the week after passing for 349 yards and six touchdowns and rushing for one score against the Falcons. Those are video-game numbers. But Meyer and the No. 4 Buckeyes are quickly putting that game in the rear-view mirror and turning their attention to Tulsa, the second nonconference opponent on the schedule. The two teams meet for the first time Saturday (3:30 p.m., ABC) at Ohio Stadium. The Golden Hurricane (1-0) are the first of two straight opponents from Oklahoma that the Buckeyes face. The following Saturday, Ohio State goes on the road to take on No. 14 Oklahoma.Tulsa, which plays in the American Athletic Conference, opened its season last week with a 45-10 victory at San Jose State.Meyer is expecting a tougher test from Tulsa than Bowling Green. The Golden Hurricane are coached by former Baylor offensive coordinator Phillip Montgomery, which means Ohio State is preparing to face a wide-open spread attack that mixes passing with a decent running game.I think when you hear spread, its about numbers, Meyer said. So I think that part is similar (to Ohio States offense). ... But the identity is were going to line up and hammer the football and run the ball. And we expect to lead the conference or be close to the lead in rushing offense.I cant speak to what Baylor does. But when you look at Baylor and then Tulsa, theyre very balanced, more balanced than people think. And so I think its somewhat similar. But there are different fundamental differences to (Ohio States offense).Tulsa rushed for 305 yards and totaled 512 yards of offense in its opener. The Golden Hurricane scored 38 straight points in the blowout on the road and their defense limited San Jose State to 287 total yards and forced three turnovers. That means Ohio States offense and defense are preparing for anything and everything this week from a team hungry to upset a national power.Weve got a tough one coming up this week, a team that beat San Jose soundly from the get-go, Meyer said. And very talented receivers, two NFL prospects at wide receiver, a returning veteran at quarterback (Dane Evans) and a D coordinator (Bill Young) who used to coach here at Ohio State. Theyre very sound on defense and do a nice job.Young was Ohio States defensive coordinator from 1988 to 1995 under coach John Cooper, who came to Columbus after serving as Tulsas coach. Youngs defense played well in the opener against San Jose State, but the Golden Hurricane know the Buckeyes are a different animal this week. Its going to be a great challenge for us, especially going up to their place, said Montgomery, who recruited Barrett when he was offensive coordinator at Baylor and the Ohio State quarterback was a standout high school player in Texas. Were looking forward to it. Were going up with the mindset that were going to win the football game.Montgomery promises the Golden Hurricane wont be intimidated by the 105,000-plus fans in Ohio Stadium. Tulsa played at Oklahoma last year and hung with the Sooners before losing 52-38.Theyre the next team on our schedule, Montgomery said. For us, its not about the helmet, not about the shirt, its what you do between the lines.Ohio State goes into the game as a four-touchdown favorite, but will be without defensive tackle Tracy Sprinkle, who underwent surgery Sunday for a torn patellar tendon in a knee. Linebacker Dante Booker is questionable after suffering an MCL sprain in the first quarter against Bowling Green. Zach Ertz Jersey . Barcelona also left injured defenders Carles Puyol, Javier Mascherano and Jordi Alba out of its squad for the trip to Glasgow. That means that Marc Bartra will probably start again in the centre of the defence alongside Gerard Pique. Mack Hollins Jersey . -- If Henry Burris has his way, he will be the starting quarterback to lead the Hamilton Tiger-Cats back to the Grey Cup next year. http://www.eaglesfansproshop.com/Eagles+Fletcher+Cox+Rush+Jersey.html?cat=1306 . Jeff Green scored 13 points and Kris Humphries 12 for the Celtics, who nearly blew an 18-point, second-half lead. Sullingers 20-20 was the first by a Celtics player since Kevin Garnetts first game in Boston in 2007. Garnett was dealt -- along with Paul Pierce -- to Brooklyn during the off-season. Commissioner Bob Bowlsby has referred to what the Big 12 is about to step into as it moves toward expansion as a sellers market. The conference is selling salvation for two to four schools that are clamoring for a spot in the Power Five and all the amenities (mostly lots of money) that goes with moving up in the world.Through open records requests to Big 12 schools, the reporting of other news organizations and statements released Wednesday by several obvious suits, here are the candidates (alphabetical order):BYU -- The Cougars have a huge national following, a history of competing at a high level and an affiliation with the Church of Latter Day Saints that prohibits the Provo, Utah-schools teams from competing on Sundays. This is not a small inconvenience. Nor will it keep BYU from possibly getting strong consideration. And as a football independent with its other sports in the West Coast Conference, BYU doesnt need to be coy and maybe could cut a football-only deal.BYU is known for its academic excellence and I believe we have an exceptional athletic program, athletic director Tom Holmoe said in a statement. As I have stated before, I would like to see our student-athletes compete at the highest level.Boise State -- The Broncos bring a top-notch football program, and an improving athletic program in general.Central Florida -- It has enormous enrollment (60,767) and is located in a recruiting hot bed, with a growing population in Orlando. The football was awesome a few years ago (BCS win against Baylor) and terrible last year (0-12).Cincinnati -- The school has just expanded and upgraded old Nippert Stadium, which now seats about 40,000. The football team has become a steady winner and moving into Ohio would not only give the Big 12 an eastern bridge to West Virginia but maybe open up some solid recruiting territory. The Big 12 is very Texas dependent when it comes to recruiting.South Florida -- Kind of like American Athletic Conference rival UCF, but not as big (48,973 enrollment) and not as much recent football success. However, right now, USF football is trending up. Wednesday was probably not the best day to announce the NCAA was investigating the athletic program.Connecticut -- Perhaps no school suffered more from conference realignment than UConn, a longtime Big East member that was shoved from college sports main stage. Sure the football was always so-so, but UConn basketball was a power and a powerful brand. With the Big 12 no longer talking about a conference network, that foot in the New York and Boston television markets might not be as appealing.Colorado State -- The school has been doingg what you do when you want to get noticed. Chris Maragos Jersey. Expanding stadiums, investing in facilities and coaches. Big 12 schools have lots of alumni in Colorado, especially the Denver area. Fort Collins is about 65 miles straight north, pretty and growing. Maybe the Rams can replace what the Big 12 lost in Colorado?Memphis -- The Tigers have a notable sponsor in FedEx CEO Fred Smith, an alum who has promised his companys sponsorship to the Big 12. The football has been mostly irrelevant but is coming off a couple of excellent seasons. Basketball is top-shelf and so is the FedEx Forum where the team plays. School officials are quick to note how the universitys academic profile is on the upswing. The University is prepared to take action when opportunities to increase the level of positive attention and exposure for our city, campus and Athletic Department are presented, athletic director Tom Bowen said in a statement. The University of Memphis continues to gain national recognition for its advancements in research, teaching and student accomplishments, and the Athletic Department is one part of that winning combination.Houston -- A new on-campus stadium is sweet, and the Cougars picked an excellent time to be coming off a 13-1 season and a Peach Bowl victory under everybodys dream coach, Tom Herman. But will Herman be here longterm? If Houston is in the Big 12, that helps the cause a lot. Being in Texas is either a deal-breaker for a conference that already thinks Houston is Big 12 country, or a good way to lock up a part of the state that has been infiltrated heavily by the SEC since Texas A&M joined. At the University of Houston we are certainly honored to be mentioned as a progressive institution that places a competitive emphasis on both academics and athletics, athletic director Hunter Yuracheck said. As a Tier One research institution and Phi Beta Kappa member, Houston has seen a reinvigorated spirit in Athletics. We have returned our proud University to the national spotlight and we aim to compete on the highest levels as we build Champions for Life. Our mission will not change.San Diego State -- Getting the Texas-centric conference into Southern California makes some sense from a recruiting standpoint.Tulane -- Sounds a little crazy considering recent athletic success. The American thought it was buying low in Tulane and it still hasnt turned around. The Big 12 provides a lot more benefits (i.e. money) and the Big 12 likes New Orleans, where it plays in the Sugar Bowl. When Tim Tebow announced he was pursuing professional baseball, we asked whether hed have a career. Adidas NMD R1 Bianche . At least 48 percent of voters were correct -- he signed with the New York Mets, and on Wednesday he made his instructional league debut.By now you probably know: He homered on the first pitch he saw.So, we have to ask:Tebow ended up going 1-for-6 in Port St. Lucie, Florida, logging five innings in left field and cutting off the lone ball hit in his direction to hold the batter to a single. His home run came off 6-foot-5 left-hander John Kilichowski, who was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 11th round out of Vanderbilt University in June.I liked a lot of my at-bats today, Tebow said. I felt like I hit the ball really hard four of the six times. ... Four of the at-bats I felt really, really good about. I didnt swing at any breaking balls. I didnt feel like I really got fooled seeing it. I felt good seeing it out on the hand. I was just late on a couple of the fastballs. Adidas NMD R1 Rosa . SAN FRANCISCO -- One of these days, one of these years, one of these decades, its going to hit them. J.J. Jansen Jersey . One of these days, one of these years, one of these decades, these miracle workers disguised as the San Francisco Giants are going to have that moment of clarity when they realize that what they keep doing shouldnt be possible. But apparently, that day isnt this day. That year isnt this year. And that decade definitely isnt this decade.Ten times in their past three October appearances, the Giants have headed for six different ballparks in three different time zones, knowing a loss would end their season. So what are the odds of winning, say, seven of those games? Or eight? Or nine?Well, Ill tell you one thing. They might be greater than the odds of Pablo Sandoval winning the Olympic 100-meter final. But theyre a piece of cake, compared to the odds of doing what the Giants did this time -- on a remarkable Monday evening at AT&T Park, in Game 3 of the National League Division Series. On this night, they didnt just win their (gulp) 10th postseason elimination game in a row, wriggling past the Chicago Cubs?6-5 in a game that ended at close to 3 a.m. back in the groggy confines of the Eastern time zone. No sir. On this night, what the Giants won was a 5-hour, 4-minute, 13-inning ride on the postseason Ferris wheel. They were down. They were up. They were dead. They were alive. They were queasy. They were euphoric. Sometimes all in the same inning. But in the end, they did what they always do in games like this -- namely, make the impossible once again feel not just possible, but practically normal. When youre still playing, youve got a chance, Hunter Pence?said?as the clock ticked toward 1 a.m. Pacific time in a nearly deserted clubhouse. So theres no impossible.Pence is one of five members of this team who has played in every one of those 10 elimination games. The others are first baseman Brandon Belt, shortstop Brandon Crawford, outfielder Gregor Blanco and, of course, the Derek Jeter of his generation, catcher Buster Posey. If the producers of Survivor ever decide its time to cast a season of Survivor: Bay Area, then we have a lot of candidates, joked general manager Bobby Evans. Theyd have a tough time paring it down. What these men have experienced, what theyve shared, what theyve accomplished, is almost as hard to comprehend as it is to actually pull off. So no wonder that on this latest, greatest night of performing their regularly scheduled postseason magic show, they struggled to find the words to describe what theyd just experienced. Again. You know, I use the word unbelievable way too much, Belt said. But it really is unbelievable. Its hard for these guys to remember all these games, let alone rank them. But how could we not ask them where this particular game ranked, seeing as how it contained about 11 different moments that would have caused the average human heart to explode.Boy, Crawford said, after scoring the winning run, its right up there. But Game 7 of the World Series [in 2014] was pretty good, also.Oh, OK. Well allow them to rank that one ahead of the rest, considering it led them all the way to the parade floats. This game, on the other hand, was just their latest survival act -- another desperate, gut-spilling effort to avoid being told it was time to go home.It began with the incomprehensible sight of Jake Arrieta launching a three-run home run off Mr. October himself, Madison Bumgarner -- the first home run Bumgarner had ever served up to any pitcher. It ended with Joe Panik becoming the first second baseman to deliver a walk-off hit in an elimination game since (who else?) Bill Mazeroski. In between, there was the just-not-possible procession of three consecutive Giants left-handed hitters reaching base in the eighth to hang a blown save on Aroldis Chapman ... and a stunning, game-tying, two-run, ninth-inning home run that skipped off the top of a car billboard by the Cubs Kris Bryant ... and a sprinting, sprawling, game-saving, ninth-inning Web Gem by Cubs right fielder Albert Almora Jr. ... and a controversial replay review that left 43,571 people in shock ... and yet another incredible, out-of-the-blue lightning bolt by this Octobers least likely hero, Conor Gillaspie -- a go-ahead, eighth-inning triple off a 101 mph Chapman flameball that was the hardest pitch Gillaspie had ever seen whooshing toward him in his career. But in the end, you know what this was? It was just the San Francisco Giants, doing what they do: living to play October baseball for at least one more day. This, Evans said, was the kind of game you really dream about. He thought back to the moment in his own life when he realized that postseason baseball was something so fantastic, so dramatic and often so downright improbable that it produced memories that stick with you for a lifetime. That happened back in 1975, when he was 6 years old and Carlton Fisk lofted a home run toward the Green Monster in Fenway that hasnt stopped flying through that night -- for four glorious decades. And now, the GM said, you have to pinch yourself to think youre here watching all these historic performances over these last seven years, and realizing these guys are getting all these big hits, pitching these big innings, making these great plays, in equally tough situations -- some to get you to the World Series, some of them actually in the World Series. . . . And its just hard to imagine youre living it right now.Oh, but theyre living it, all right. Over three different Octobers. One sensational Houdini act after another. No baseball team, before they came along, had ever won 10 postseason elimination games in a row. And only one team, in any of the four major professional sports, has won more of these games than this. That would be a team of legends -- the 1959-67 Boston Celtics, who won 11 in a row, in a very different sport and a very different time. But in this sport? In this time? Its a feat of outrageous magnitude. Just to give you some perspective, have you heard of those mighty New York Yankees? Theyve done a lot of winning in October, right? Word of that has probably reached you. But theyve won just 11 of their past 25 postseason elimination games -- a stretch that goes back 40 years. These San Francisco Giants, on the other hand, have done this just over the past four years -- and still have nine players on the roster who have been a part of this cast for all of it.Ill tell you, Pence said, exuding the sort of glow that makes you understand why people play sports in the first place. Its just awesome playing with these guys. ... We just keep each moment and each day, and get out there and play to chase our dreams. Those dreams, for this year, will still require a whole lot of chasing, because all this emotional night had done for them was allow them to show up to play Game 4 on Tuesday. But that doesnt mean what just happened, on their own little field of dreams, wasnt worth savoring.Ten consecutive wins, in games in which winning was the only option? Tell us how that is possible. Seriously. How?You know what? I dont know, Crawford said. But hopefully, we can find out again tomorrow. New Zealand 271 and 0 for 0 lead Pakistan 216 (Azam 90*, Sarfraz 41, Southee 6-80, Wagner 3-59) by 55 runsScorecard and ball-by-ball detailsA six-wicket haul from Tim Southee secured a 55-run lead for New Zealand and left Babar Azam stranded ten short of a maiden Test hundred on a damp third day at Seddon Park. Teez Tabor Jersey . Rain allowed only 38.1 overs of play. A brief shower forced lunch eight minutes early, and only six balls were possible in the second session. Pakistans innings ended 5.2 overs into the third session, after which the New Zealand openers came out and faced one ball before it rained again.Pakistan were 76 for 5 at the start of the days play, and trailed New Zealand by 195. That they narrowed their deficit to 55 was down largely to two partnerships featuring Azam: 74 for the sixth wicket with Sarfraz Ahmed, and 67 for the seventh with Sohail Khan. New Zealand then struck back, taking the last four wickets for only 24 runs.Azam had feasted on some wayward New Zealand bowling on the second evening, picking up a number of boundaries with the cut and the flick. The seamers were a lot more disciplined against him on the third morning, largely sticking to a fourth-stump line and seldom wavering from a good length. Azam fought discipline with discipline, showing excellent defensive technique and looking entirely unaffected when his partners outscored him. He looked to play in the V as much as possible, and two of his five fours on the day came in that region, glorious drives down the ground off Wagner. The morning began with Sarfraz going after the bowling by pulling, cutting, and jumping out of his crease to put the fast bowlers off their length. He hit six fours in two successive overs from Southee, who was unable to find either the seam movement or the length that helped him run through Pakistans top order on day two and offered up a number of short balls. Just as he entered the 40s and raised hopes of a similar innings to his match-turning 96 against Sri Lanka in Galle last year, he steered Neil Wagner straight to second slip, where Jeet Raval clung onto an excellent reflex catch.Sohail, whose second-innings 40 in Christchurch earned him a promotion to No. 8, took over Sarfrazs role at the crease. Wagner, looking to test him with the short ball from both sides of the wicket, ended up leaking runs as Sohail took him on with the pull and the hook. Twice in succession, Sohail sent the ball soaring over the fielder at long leg, and once he bisected long leg and deep square leg.The seventh-wicket pair took Pakistan into the 190s before Southee, returning for his second spell of the day, found some outswing to break the partnership, first beating and then kissing Sohails outside edge. Then, in the next over, Colin de Grandhomme had Wahab Riaz lbw, his front pad going too far across the stumps and coming in the way of his bats downswing. The final session began with Pakistan 201 for 8, with Azam batting on 81. Southee bowled a leg-stump half-volley which Azam put away to the boundary, but produced a beauty in his next over, the extra bounce forcing Mohammad Amir to lob a catch to second slip off the glove. In came Imran Khan, playing his eighth Test and yet to score a run in the format. He got off the mark off his second ball, dabbing Southee for a couple towards third man, and Azam moved to 90 with a rasping square-cut off Matt Henry in the next over. That, though, would remain his last scoring stroke, as Southee, peppering Imran with the short ball, forced the No. 11 to tickle one off his ribs and offer BJ Watling a catch down the leg side.Southees 6 for 80 was his first five-wicket haul at home since his debut Test in 2008. Zach Zenner Jersey . PETERSBURG, Fla. Paul Worrilow Jersey . The Australian is competing in his final season in Formula One and still looking for his first win this year. He will look to end Vettels run of six straight race wins on Sunday. Webber, who is fifth in the championship, earned his second pole from the past three races and 13th of his career. http://www.lionsfootballpro.com/Lions-Miles-Killebrew-Jersey/ . Burris threw two TD passes, including a key 15-yard fourth-quarter strike to Bakari Grant that effectively countered a Toronto comeback bid and led Hamilton to a 33-19 victory. The knockout blow might have finally been delivered to their NRL season but Parramatta have vowed to go out swinging in 2016.But first they will need to pick themselves off the canvas - again. There seemed to be little fight left in the Eels after their slim finals hopes were officially killed off by Saturdays 34-14 loss to Gold Coast.Eels players acknowledged their fate by dropping their heads after the six-tries-to-three loss at cbus Super Stadium. However, Parramatta coach Brad Arthur said there was still plenty to gain from their nightmare season. Our season may be over but we have standards and expectations - that is all we can judge ourselves on, he said.We have to ask ourselves at the end of the year did we maintain those standards or take the easy option?.The Eels had held onto hope that wins in their remaining seven matches would keep them in the finals mix. They had to cling to something. In a year lurching from controversy to controversy for Parramatta, Eels fans would still have been disheartened by the events of the past week.Wayward five-eighth Corey Norman watched from the Gold Coast sidelines after being suspended for eight weeks and fined $20,000 for a string of off-field incidennts, including a conviction for drug possession. A Shawn Robinson Jersey. Parramatta were also taken over by a NSW government-appointed administrator on Tuesday in the wake of their salary-cap scandals which resulted in a $1 million fine and the loss of 12 competition points.Their luck didnt change on Saturday.Captain Beau Scott (ankle) was cut before the match while hooker Isaac De Gois (suspected knee) limped off in the 64th minute as Parramatta slid to third last on 12 points.Weve got probably three quarters of the salary cap sitting on the sidelines, Arthur said of their long list of unavailable players including playmaker Kieran Foran. We will just add them (De Gois, Scott) to the list.We will find some (back-up).If anything, I would rather them (injuries) this year than next year.Eels stand-in skipper Tim Mannah said it was pretty easy to ignore their off-field dramas. This is a resilient, tough group, he said. The attitude we have makes it a lot easier to deal with situations that look pretty messy from the outside.I think we will be better for it once we come through it. AVONDALE, Ariz. -- Matt Kenseths misfortune gave Joey Logano a chance to race for the championship. In an improbable turn of events, Kenseth came within two laps of a spot in next week in the title-deciding finale to eliminated from NASCARs playoffs. Logano was gifted a victory Sunday that put him in the final four after a tense double-overtime event at Phoenix International Raceway.Kenseth had the win in hand until a late caution sent the race to extra laps. Although he cleared traffic on the restart, his teammate Kyle Busch had contact with Alex Bowman that altered Bowmans racing line.Kenseths spotter told the driver he was clear, but he actually cut down on Bowman and the contact caused him to crash.Logano saw the sequence unfolding, let off his gas early, and slid into the lead after the accident. He then held off Busch in the second overtime for the win that qualified him for the championship next week at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Prior to Kenseths accident, Logano was in danger of elimination.Im like `Oh, shoot, were out, and it was going to be so close there at the end to try to get ourselves through, and next thing you know the caution comes out and the whole game changes, Logano said. We find ourselves as the leader and we win the race. Thats NASCAR racing at its finest.Logano won the race -- the second time in this Chase he used a victory in an elimination race to advance -- and will race for his first Sprint Cup title next Sunday. Hell be trying to give Roger Penske a season sweep during its 50th anniversary season. Simon Pagenaud won the IndyCar title in September.Ive never felt this good about a win before, Logano said. There was so much on the line and everyone brings their A-game when it comes to winning championships and this team did it.I feel like I just won the Daytona 500 again.Busch finished second and earned a chance to defend last years title. Hell meet Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Carl Edwards and Jimmie Johnson, who is seeking a record-tying seventh championship, in Homestead.JGR, which was trying to get all four of its Toyotas into the final , wound up with only two and Busch wasnt feeling celebratory. He believed his contact with Bowman triggered the accident that wrecked Kenseths season. Its really unfortunate and devastating to have the race come down like that, Busch said. Thats so frustrating and aggravating, and I feel horrible.Eliminated from the playoffs on Sunday were Kevin Harvick, an eight-time winner at Phoenix who had raced in the last two finales, as well as his Stewart-Haas Racing teammate Kurt Busch. Toronto Maple Leafs Jerseys. Gibbs drivers Kenseth and Denny Hamlin were also knocked out of the field.Disappointing would be the way to put it lightly, Kenseth said. Finish that race five minutes before that, looked like we had a chance to go race for a championship. It was a big swing in 10 or 15 minutes.Hamlin finished seventh after a bizarre decision not to pit with the rest of the field for track position. Although it gave him a brief lead, he was no match for drivers with fresh tires.I knew it was going to be an uphill climb, Hamlin said.PIT ROAD PENALTIES: NASCAR picked Sunday to enforce a rule against passing the pace car when a driver dips onto pit road for a stop. Martin Truex Jr. and Jimmie Johnson were both penalized for the infraction, and the punishment was holding the car for a lap on pit road.Johnson and crew chief Chad Knaus were incredulous.I dont understand that in the least little bit, Johnson said on his radio. This is absolutely ridiculous, NASCAR. I have no clue what I did wrong.Johnson said hell ask for clarification this week.In 15 years, that has never been a concern, and I was always told that the last thing NASCAR wanted to do would be to penalize the leader, Johnson said. I am still baffled, and I dont know if I will stop being baffled.BOWMAN OUT FRONT: Alex Bowman badly wants a job for next year, and his continued strong pace as the replacement driver for Dale Earnhardt Jr. is giving him a solid case to present to prospective employers.Bowman had led just nine laps in his first 79 career Sprint Cup races. Six of those laps were earlier this year driving Earnhardts Chevrolet. A pole-winning run for Sundays race helped Bowman lead a race-high 194 laps and was attempting to win the race before the late accident. He faded to sixth, and felt bad about his incident with Kenseth.I hate it for Matt. I would have raced the hell out of him for the win, but definitely dont want to do that, Bowman said. Hate that, and it ruined our day, too. So its unfortunate.UP NEXT: The season finale at Homestead, where the championship will be decided. Harvick won the race in 2014 to win his championship, and Kyle Busch won last year to claim the title.
