Paul Gallen claims all-in scuffles are a worse look for the NRL than two players punching, and offenders should be condemned to the sin bin. B. J. Hill Jersey .The veteran forward expressed the strong opinion after he was involved in a major scuffle during Cronullas physical 37-12 win over the Sydney Roosters on Saturday.Roosters captain Jake Friend slapped Gallen on the back of the head, then stood over him, after the Sharks skipper had turned the ball over in a testy first half.Gallen took exception to the goading, getting up and slamming Friend to the ground, which instigated yet another all-in melee that has plagued the competition since punching resulted in an automatic sin-bin in the wake of the former NSW skippers haymaker on Queenslands Nate Myles during the 2013 State of Origin series. His comments come in the same week teammate Andrew Fifita said he would gladly cop a punch to the chin if it meant he could coax a jab from an opposition player.Gallen said it wasnt the niggle that has become a blight on the game, but the amount of players rushing in afterwards that caused a bigger stain on the on-field product. Its a worse look ... players coming in pushing and shoving, than a couple of blokes throwing punches. I think those who want to run in from 20-30 metres away should be sent to the sin bin, he said.Eventually penalised for his act of retribution on Saturday night, Gallen also conceded that he should have kept his cool and not retaliated against the Roosters hooker. He stood over me like he was seven-foot tall. Ive never taken a backward step and neither has he. Its frustrating because we all know we cant do anything about it anymore, he said. But Ive probably got to keep my head a little bit more there. Its a bit hard because Ive never a backward step and I dont intend to. But we got the win, thats all that matters. Saquon Barkley Jersey . The Latest on the Russian doping case (all times local to Rio de Janeiro):2:30 p.m.Russias Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko says he welcomes the International Olympic Committees decision to open investigations into allegations of Russian doping.A day after a World Anti-Doping Agency report accused Russia -- and its sports ministry -- of covering up hundreds of doping cases, the IOC opened investigations into top Russian officials and asked for major upcoming winter sports events to be moved out of Russia. The IOC also said it will explore the legal options with regard to a collective ban of all Russian athletes from next months Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.Mutko tells Russias state Tass news agency that we absolutely share and support todays decisions, and said the main issue was not Russian doping but an unprecedented attack on the whole Olympic movement, without going into further details.Mutko earlier Tuesday denied all wrongdoing and said he expected his subordinates to be cleared too.---1 p.m.Two-time Olympic pole vault champion Yelena Isinbayeva has made her case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport that Russian track and field athletes not banned for doping be allowed to compete at the Rio de Janeiro Games.Leaving a CAS appeal hearing held amid unusual secrecy in Geneva, Isinbayeva told state-owned news channel Russia 24 that she addressed the judging panel and was optimistic about the outcome.CAS aims to give a verdict on Thursday in the appeal filed by Russias national Olympic body on behalf of 68 athletes. The ruling will guide the IOC executive board as it weighs whether to ban all Russian teams from the Rio Olympics. The Russian appeal challenges an IAAF ruling to suspend the All-Russian Athletic Federation and its athletes from international competition because of a state-backed conspiracy of doping and cover-ups.The IAAF imposed the ban last November and upheld it last month.---12:10 p.m.The IOC executive board wants winter sports governing bodies to freeze their preparations for major events in Russia and find host cities in other countries.A figure skating Grand Prix in Moscow on Nov. 4-6 and a ski jumping World Cup on Dec. 9-11 in Nizhny Tagil are the first events set to be moved from Russia. The IOC says this is because of detailed references to the manipulation of samples at the Sochi Olympics in a World Anti-Doping Agency inquiry report published on Monday that alleged a state-backed doping plot. The request is an interim order through 2016 which the IOC says its board will review in December.Events in early 2017 are also at risk from the provisional ruling. The world championships in bobsled and skeleton are scheduled in Sochi from Feb. 13-26.From January to March, Russia is also due to stage World Cups in biathlon, big air, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, and speed skating.---12:05 p.m.The International Olympic Committee is to investigate allegations that host nation Russia sabotaged the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.A World Anti-Doping Agency report on Monday accused top Russian officials of directing a program to subvert drug testing at the Olympics, with doped Russian stars urine allegedly swapped for clean samples in the laboratory by a lab official and an officer of the security services. The IOC says it will initiate reanalysis, including forensic analysis, and a full inquiry into all Russian athletes who participated in Sochi. The investigation will be led by Denis Oswald, a Swiss former rower and senior IOC member. The IOC executive board adds it will impose all the appropriate sanctions if wrongdoing is found.---11:45 a.m.The International Olympic Committee says it has opened investigations into top Russian sports officials and is seeking to bar them from the Rio de Janeiro Games. The IOC statement comes after a World Anti-Doping Agency report accused Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko and his officials of overseeing a cover-up of hundreds of doping test failures by Russians. The IOC has set up a disciplinary commission led by former French Constitutional Court judge Guy Canivet to look into officials within the Russian Ministry of Sports and other persons mentioned in the report.Ministry officials and those suspected of involvement in covering up doping will not be allowed official accreditation to the Rio Olympics, the IOC adds.Several officials, including one of Mutkos deputies and his anti-doping adviser, have been suspended on the orders of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Mutko told Russian agency R-Sport earlier Tuesday.Mutko, who is not suspended, denies any wrongdoing, and says he expects his subordinates to be reinstated after temporary suspensions.---11:40 a.m.The IOC says it will explore the legal options for a possible total ban on the Russian team from the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. The International Olympic Committee says calls for a collective ban on the Russians will be judged versus the right to individual justice. The IOC executive board met by teleconference on Tuesday to consider steps following the widespread doping allegations detailed in Mondays report by World Anti-Doping Agency investigator Richard McLaren.WADA recommended that the IOC consider taking the unprecedented step of excluding the entire Russian team from the Rio Games. The IOC says it will still have to take into account a verdict coming this Thursday by the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The court is due to rule on Russias appeal against the IAAF decision to ban its track and field athletes from Rio.--10:35 a.m.Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko has denied covering up hundreds of doping cases, and says he also expects his staff to be cleared.A World Anti-Doping Agency investigation alleged on Monday that Mutkos ministry directed, controlled and oversaw a mass cover-up of Russians drug test failures over several years, including swapping samples at the 2014 Winter Olympics.Staff including a deputy sports minister and Mutkos own anti-doping advisor were accused of directing which positive tests should be hidden, while Mutko himself was accused of ordering a cover-up when a soccer player tested positive.Mutko tells Russian agency R-Sport that accusations against him are absolutely unreal, and impossible.Mutko remains in his post, while his deputy Yuri Nagornykh is among a group of officials who have been suspended on orders from Russian President Vladimir Putin, though Mutko says we should regard even this suspension as temporary.---10:30 a.m.The head of track and field in Europe says profound changes are required in Russia before sports events can confidently welcome competitors from the doping-tarnished nation.Russias athletics team has already been banned from the Rio de Janeiro Olympics, and European Athletics President Svein Arne Hansen believes the latest report into Russian doping cover-ups is damning.Hansen says profound cultural, organizational, and procedural changes (are) required before all sports can confidently welcome clean sportsmen and sportswomen from Russia to future international events. In a statement, Hansen added that athletics officials have a duty to work with Russia on the rehabilitation process however long and difficult it proves, calling it absolutely essential for the future credibility of athletics and all sport.---10:15 a.m.Russia Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has complained to U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry about what Russia considers U.. Giants Official Jerseys. S. interference in the handling of its doping scandal. The foreign ministry says that during a telephone conversation with Kerry, Lavrov expressed everything he thought about a letter circulated by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, a non-government body, calling for Russias entire team to be suspended from the Olympics. The letter, obtained by The Associated Press, was circulated by U.S. and Canadian anti-doping authorities before the release on Monday of a World Anti-Doping Agency report which accused top Russian officials of covering up hundreds of doping cases.According to the ministry, the letter contained provocative anti-Russian demands by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency to the International Olympic Committee. There was no immediate comment from the U.S. State Department. The letter called for the IOC to act by next Tuesday to ensure that Russias Olympic Committee and sports federations will not be allowed in Rio de Janeiro, where the games start on Aug. 5.The letter encourages exceptions for Russia-born athletes who can prove they were subject to strong anti-doping systems in other countries.---9:30 a.m.FIFA ethics prosecutors say they will thoroughly examine the McLaren Report into state-backed doping which implicates Russias top football official.Late Monday, the World Anti-Doping Agency called on FIFAs ethics committee to investigate allegations against Russia Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko.Mutko, a member of FIFAs ruling council and head of Russias 2018 World Cup organizing committee, is named in the report for personally intervening to cover up a positive doping test for a foreign player in the Russian Premier League.Though Mutkos ministry allegedly orchestrated doping cover-ups across Russian sports and the Sochi Olympics, the FIFA ethics panel can act only on football issues.FIFA ethics prosecutors say if the report reveals violations of the FIFA code of ethics, the investigatory chamber will take appropriate measures and inform accordingly.---9:20 a.m.The Kremlin says Russian athletes are still focused on competing at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro despite calls for the entire Russian delegation to be banned over doping. The World Anti-Doping Agency backs a blanket ban after a report on Monday detailed a cover-up of hundreds of failed drug tests by Russian athletes, allegedly directed by government officials.President Vladimir Putins spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, says Russia is preparing for the Olympics, the Russian team is preparing for the Olympics.Asked whether Russia would boycott the games if it faces punishment, Peskov did not answer directly, but said Russia does not want such situations to damage the Olympic movement.---8:55 a.m.Russian President Vladimir Putins spokesman says Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko has not been suspended from duties because he is not directly accused of covering up doping.Putin said on Monday that officials named in the McLaren Report into Russian doping cover-ups would be suspended. A deputy sports minister has been suspended.Dmitry Peskov says that was because Mutko was not named as someone directly involved in the cover-up.While the report says much of the day-to-day administration of doping cover-ups was done by deputy minister Yuri Nagornykh and Mutkos adviser, Nataliya Zhelanova, Mutko is accused of having ordered a cover-up in one case, that of an unnamed foreign soccer player in the Russian Premier League.Mutko is one of Putins oldest allies in the government, having worked with each other for more than 20 years, dating to their time together in the St. Petersburg city administration in the 1990s.---7:55 a.m.London Marathon organizers say a British court has ordered Russian marathon runner Liliya Shobukhova to repay prize and appearance money after being banned for doping. The High Court judgment mandates Shobukhova to repay 377,961.62 pounds ($498,000) plus costs relating to her 2010 marathon victory and second-place finish the following year in the British capital.London Marathon chief executive Nick Bitel says the next step is to get the judgment enforced in Russia. It will be a long and difficult process but we will pursue it as we are determined that cheats should not benefit.Shobukhova was stripped of her 2009-2011 results when the Russian federation initially banned her for two years for blood doping, and she was ordered to forfeit her prize money. The IAAF appealed for a four-year ban from the Court of Arbitration for Sport. A settlement was reached in June for Shobukhova to serve a three-year, two-month ban through March 2016.---6:50 a.m.The umbrella body for summer Olympic sports has indicated it is opposed to a ban for the whole Russian team. The Association of Summer Olympic International Federations, which represents the governing bodies of 28 sports on the Olympic program, says it is important to focus on the need for individual justice in all these cases. However, ASOIF also says it will respect a ban on a national team in a particular sport, if imposed by that sports international federation. That would cover the doping ban on the Russian athletics team which was upheld by the International Association of Athletics Federations last month, or bans on several weightlifting teams, including Russias.ASOIF adds it wants more investigation into allegations that the Russian government covered up hundreds of doping cases.---6 a.m.A hearing is underway to determine whether Russias entire athletics team will be banned from the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro over doping. The Court of Arbitration for Sport is hearing an appeal in Geneva by 68 Russian athletes against the IAAFs decision to ban the Russian team due to widespread doping.Since the World Anti-Doping Agency first accused Russia of systematic doping in November, leading athletes, coaches, and officials have been suspended over drug use.The case is separate from the McLaren Report, which on Monday detailed a vast cover-up of Russian doping cases, alleging the Russian Sports Ministry ordered hundreds of positive test results to be concealed, including many in athletics.---4 a.m.The executive board of the International Olympic Committee has a teleconference on Tuesday to go over options in the wake of a report that uncovered a state-run doping scheme in Russia that ensnared 28 sports, both summer and winter. It started in 2011 and ended four years later -- well past the time when Russian authorities knew they were under the doping microscope. After receiving the evidence from the report it commissioned, the World Anti-Doping Agency called for the IOC to consider a ban of Russias entire Olympic team. But a blanket ban is not a sure thing. The decision to deliver one is rife with political ramifications that involve a country that sent the third-most athletes (more than 430) to the previous Summer Olympics, four years ago in London. It puts the IOC in the position of ruling against one of its biggest supporters, a nation that spent more than $50 billion hosting the Winter Games in Sochi just two years ago.IOC president Thomas Bach said the committee wouldnt hesitate to apply the toughest sanctions available. Whether the IOC issues its decision on Tuesday or simply sets the table for it to come later, it could be appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Cheap Jerseys 2019 Nike NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys 2019 Cheap Nike NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys Throwback Cheap Jerseys China ' ' '

NORMAN, Okla. Buy Cheap Jets Jerseys . -- A wacky weekend in college football renewed Oklahomas seemingly dormant playoff hopes.Oklahoma has rallied from a rough start to the season, and losses by Clemson, Michigan, Washington, Texas A&M and Auburn last Saturday opened up the field for the Sooners to possibly claim one of the four spots in the College Football Playoff if they keep winning. The eighth-ranked Sooners (8-2, 7-0 Big 12) will travel to No. 10 West Virginia (8-1, 5-1) Saturday night with a chance to claim a share of the Big 12 title and remain alive for a second straight playoff berth. Were not looking into that, Oklahoma linebacker Jordan Evans said of the playoff. We see it. Some guys in the back of their mind, maybe. But it doesnt matter if we dont handle our business.Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said he doesnt worry too much about other results, though he enjoyed Iowas 14-13 win over Michigan. He played at Iowa and later became an assistant coach there.Im rooting for the Hawkeyes, Stoops said. Absolutely. A big congrats to them. Outside of that, Im not sitting there with my pompoms out.Oklahoma seemingly had no path back to the playoff, but since their early losses to Houston and Ohio State, they have won seven straight. In Big 12 play, the Sooners are averaging 48 points and 591.1 yards per game, both tops in the league.I think we have a ton of guys that were real with themselves, a coaching staff that was real with themselves, offensive tackle Orlando Brown said. Weve all taken it upon ourselves individually, as a group, as a team, as a university, to see what we had to get better at. What we were doing bad, what we were doing good -- we took them and we went from there. The Sooners beat then-No. 25 Baylor 45-24 last Saturday , and West Virginia and Oklahoma State, Oklahomas final two opponents, provide opportunities for quality wins late in the season. All that matters is what weve been doing each and every week, Stoops said. Well be our best Saturday night. Eight Eastern, seven Central, and well be ready to play our best game. Next week will be a different week.Even after the Sooners started winning, a playoff slot wasnt even a thought after the Sooners gave up 854 yards in a 66-59 win over Texas Tech .Only reason I think it (Texas Tech game) was good is we were still able to come out with a win in that game, Evans said. Weve kind of flipped our defense around. It was a good wakeup call for us.Since then, Oklahoma has allowed 51 points combined in wins over Kansas, Iowa State and Baylor. The Sooners have risen to No. 3 in the Big 12 in scoring defense and total defense, No. 2 in pass efficiency defense and No. 1 in rushing defense. It has been a complete U-turn from that game, Evans said. Our intensity, our effort -- guys are making more plays. The number one thing is guys are having more fun doing it. Guys are wanting to get back out there each and every Saturday and wanting to get to practice on Monday to get better and to keep it going.---Follow Cliff Brunt on Twitter: www.twitter.com/CliffBruntAP Chris Herndon Jersey . There are some early surprises in the race for the Hart Trophy, but two of the contenders are the leagues biggest stars over the past decade. There are many more players in contention for the awards than just the three that Ive named, and a good or bad week can easily alter the landscape, but through the first 20 or so games of the NHL season, this is how the awards races look to me. http://www.cheapjetsjerseyschina.com/trenton-cannon-jersey/ . In Europe, top teams seem to be largely happy with their squads after spending nearly $1 billion in the off-season. And although English league clubs are unlikely to splash cash in January, Arsenal and Chelsea could be tempted to strengthen their squads with new strikers. MIAMI -- Pat Rileys pitch to Miami Heat free-agent targets will include an optimistic view of Chris Boshs potential return to the court next season and the long-term stability of coach Erik Spoelstra, league sources have told ESPN.com.Bosh is making progress in his recovery from recurring blood clots that have cut short each of his past two seasons, according to a source with knowledge of Boshs condition. Both Bosh and the Heat continue to work toward the goal of having the perennial All-Star power forward available for the start of training camp, sources said.Neither Bosh nor the Heat have said publicly where Bosh is in his recovery or whether the 13-year veteran has continued a regimen of blood-thinning medication. Bosh was the Heats leading scorer and best 3-point shooter when he was sidelined at the February All-Star break and went on to miss the final 29 games of the regular season as well as Miamis playoff run into the second round.Boshs $23 million salary due next season will count against the Heats salary cap regardless of whether he plays, but that salary would come off the books in February if he is unable to play in a game next season and retires because of the medical condition. Last month, Riley said Boshs status was the X factor in determining where the Heat stood entering free agency. That is the difficult thing for me in evaluating how far weve come and how good we are, Riley said entering the summer. It really cant be answered. It can only be answered hypothetically if Chris was healthy. Then you would have a real idea, probably, about how everything would fit.Meanwhile, the Heat have determined that Spoelstra will be a long-term fit with the roster as the two sides finalize a contract extension that will keep the coach in place for at least the next three seasons. Spoelstra, 45, was set to enter the final season on his contract, but the team had always planned to extend a deal that would grant him a pay raise and increased role in personnel matters, sources said.Miami has roughly $42 million in salary-cap space, nine free agents to address and a Sunday meeting in New York scheduled in an effort to woo marquee target Kevin Durant to South Florida. Before then, the Heat must determine whether to offer center Hassan Whiteside a contract of $98 million over four years or let the top big man on the market bolt for another team eager extend him a max deal.Whitesides journey has been well-chronicled during his two seasons in Miami, where the former second-round pick of the Sacramento Kings landed after he initially washed out of the league and toiled through stints in LLebanon and China. Nathan Shepherd Jersey. Riley recently met with Whiteside to set the course for free agency, but the NBAs leading shot-blocker has lined up sessions with the Dallas Mavericks, Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers in the initial hours of free agency. Keeping Whiteside remains among the top goals for the Heat, but Riley is also prepared to pursue secondary options among a group of available centers that include Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol, Joakim Noah, Al Horford, Al Jefferson, Bismack Biyombo and Roy Hibbert.Whiteside, 27, said last week that loyalty to the Heat wouldnt be a major tipping point in a decision on his future he hopes will crystalize by Friday night. After earning the league minimum of $990,000 last season, Whiteside could command as much as $22 million in first-year salary on his next contract.I hope its an easy decision, said Whiteside, who finished third in NBA Defensive Player of the Year voting and ranked in the top five in blocks, rebounds and field goal percentage last season. I find it flattering because in my past I was trying to call teams [for tryouts]. Now its the other way around.Franchise pillar Dwyane Wade, 34, has privately warned against taking him for granted and has not ruled out exploring opportunities with other playoff teams.Wade, who has spent all 13 seasons of his career with the Heat, has said for months that his hope is to remain in Miami his entire career. Wade also said he didnt foresee going through another difficult negotiation similar to the one last summer, when his agent and Riley eventually stepped aside as Wade and Heat owner Micky Arison met at Wades home to hammer out a one-year, $20 million deal. But I dont pay myself, Wade said last month after having played in 74 games, his most in five seasons. This offseason shapes up as the biggest free-agency period Riley and the Heat have faced since James left to return to Cleveland in 2014. Riley insists hes ready for another major offseason challenge, one that includes making the last currently scheduled recruiting pitch to Durant this weekend. Why wouldnt I be optimistic? Riley said recently of Miamis general free agency plans. Plus we have flexibility this year and next year. To me, the only way you can make a dramatic change in your team is to get a proven superstar, if you can, some way, through free agency. Every now and then, it happens. I think you have to look at it and you have to keep yourself a little bit of flexibility for that to happen. Cheap Jerseys 2019 Nike NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys 2019 Cheap Nike NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys Throwback Cheap Jerseys China ' ' '

HOUSTON -- Kendall Graveman continued his string of good outings Saturday, with arguably his best start of the season. Black Friday Bengals Jerseys .He threw eight solid innings and Stephen Vogt had three hits, including a homer, as the Oakland Athletics held on to beat the Houston Astros 3-2 on Saturday.Graveman (5-6) allowed two runs on five hits and struck out three in extending his win streak to four games. The outing tied the longest of his career at eight innings, which he set June 13, 2015 at the Angels. He retired the first 14 batters to start the game before A.J. Reed singled with two outs in the fifth.I think the movement of the fastball was as good as I have had it, Graveman said. I commanded it very well. There were some I missed location, but the movement took over, so we still got groundballs.Graveman has allowed two runs or less in five of his last six starts. His last three or four starts the movement from what hes trying to accomplish out there has been the same, Oakland manager Bob Melvin. But getting that deep in the game with the pitch count low is probably the best Ive seen.Vogt hit a solo home run to left field in the second, an RBI single in the third and came around to score on a Marcus Semien bases loaded walk that made it 3-0.I got some pitches to hit and strung together some at bats and drove the ball the other way, Vogt said.Graveman was replaced by Ryan Dull after allowing singles to Jake Marisnick and Marwin Gonzalez to lead off the ninth. Marisnick scored on a Jose Altuve groundout to third.Dull induced a Carlos Correa pop-up before Luis Valbuena hit an RBI single to cut the lead to one, but Dull struck out Carlos Gomez to earn his first save. Were going to keep fighting and we play until the end, Houston manager A.J. Hinch said. Sometimes when you cant score or you dont hit, theres a dullness to the game and theres a lack of energy or enthusiasm, but our guys dont quit.Coco Crisp had two hits after serving a one-game suspension Friday, and Josh Reddick had two hits, including a triple.Lance McCullers (4-3) allowed three runs on seven hits with six strikeouts and four walks in a season-low four innings. The right-hander had allowed four runs over his previous three starts before Saturday.TRAINING ROOMAstros: OF Colby Rasmus was out of the lineup for a second straight game due to an ear infection. Hes still not feeling well, Hinch said. He would have played today and yesterday if he would have felt up for it, but it sounds like hes still a little under the weather. . RHP Scott Feldman, who threw 3 2/3 scoreless innings, left the game in the ninth. After allowing a single to Jed Lowrie to lead off the ninth, Hinch went out to the mound with the trainer to look at Feldman. Following two warm-up pitches, Feldman was replaced by Chris Devenski. Hinch said Feldman was a little stiff, but it was a precautionary move, and he was day-to-day.UP NEXTAthletics: LHP Sean Manaea (3-5) will try to right the ship on the road Sunday when he takes the mound for the final game before the All Star break. Manaea is 0-3 with an 11.66 ERA in three road starts this season.Astros: LHP Dallas Keuchel (6-9) will look to pick up his fourth straight victory Sunday. Keuchel allowed two runs on five hits in his last outing Tuesday against the Mariners.DULLS STREAK ENDSDull had stranded all 36 runners he had faced entering Saturday, but that streak came to an end on the Altuve fielders choice groundout in the ninth. The streak of inherited runners stranded was the longest by any pitcher in the expansion era, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. You knew it was going to eventually happen, especially in that situation, Dull said. I was going to do anything to get the double play because that would help us more than that one run. I would gladly sacrifice it to get the double play there. Malik Jefferson Womens Jersey . We just threw the kitchen sink at them, said Memphis coach David Fizdale, who watched his team overcome an 11-point deficit in the final 5 minutes. I dont know if we got lucky or what.Douglas last-second free throws gave him 11 points, including the games final six to seal Memphis fifth consecutive victory. The Grizzlies have won 12 straight that either went to overtime or were decided by five points or less.I wish I could tell you, Gasol said when asked about Memphis ability to pull out close games. We just keep fighting. Youve seen it in many games now where we just dont let go of the rope.Gasol was 13 of 24 from the field, including 4 of 6 from outside the arc. But Douglas, signed by Memphis this week because of injuries, took over down the stretch. The guard scored on a 19-footer with 34 seconds left, then converted two pairs of free throws in the last 20 seconds.CJ McCollum led the Trail Blazers with 24 points, and Damian Lillard had 19. Evan Turner had 15 points and 10 rebounds.Portland held a 79-68 lead after Al-Farouq Aminu scored inside with 5:28 left. But Memphis clicked off a 14-2 rally, Gasol collecting nine points in the stretch capped by a 30-footer from Troy Daniels with 1:35 remaining. The game settled into a one-possession contest at that point, including four ties. Portland center Mason Plumlee split a pair of free throws with 7 seconds left, and the Grizzlies pushed the ball down court. Douglas pump fake drew a foul from Lillard with a half-second remaining. Its a tough call, Lillard said. Jet lag could be as tough an opponent for No. 6 Indiana as UMass-Lowell on Wednesday night at Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Ind.The Hoosiers opened their season in rousing fashion Friday night, pulling out a 103-99 overtime win over then-No. 3 Kansas at the Armed Forces Classic in Honolulu. Five days and six time zones later, they get back on the court against a River Hawks team off to a 1-1 start in their final transition season in Division I.Indianas resolve was as impressive as its compete level against Kansas, which is saying something. It lost three players to fouls, including sophomore center Thomas Bryant, and trailed by nine points early in the second half before reeling in the Jayhawks and finally capturing the victory. For us to find a way to win against a team like that and as good as they are and dealing with all the different kind of lineup changes we had to have ... we try to be a position-less team as much as possible, Hoosiers coach Tom Crean said.Indiana got four 3-pointers and 26 points from junior guard James Blackmon Jr., playing his first game since an ACL tear ended his 2015-16 season after 13 games. Bryant added a 19-point, 10-rebound double-double despite dealing with leg cramps while freshman Curtis Jones came off the bench for three 3-pointers and 15 points.Jones played beyond his years in his 16 minutes, displaying the cool of an older player when he drained a step-back jumper in overtime.I think what that says is that the stage doesnt matter to him, Crean said. I think thats what is really important. Every contending team has a one-two punch of starting pitchers who lead the rotation and the team. Womens Seahawks Jerseys . Names like Sandy Koufax and Don Drysdale, Warren Spahn and Johnny Sain, Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling, Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer, I could go on and on. Just check out the American League East. Bostons dynamic duo of Clay Buchholz and Jon Lester are a combined 15-3, with Buchholz, a Cy Young contender at (9-0) with a 1.71 ERA. The Red Sox as a team have put together a division leading 39 quality starts (at least 6 innings, allowing three runs or less) in 68 games. Its no wonder manager John Farrells crew is in first place. Baltimore Orioles pulled into second place in the Division Thursday night with a 13 inning, 5-4 win over the Red Sox. The Orioles one-two combo of Jason Hamel (7-4) and Chris Tillman (6-2), have 14 quality starts between them and the team has 31 in total. The New York Yankees, who slipped to third behind the Orioles, actually have quality starts in more than half their games, 36 in total in 66 games. Hiroki Kuroda (6-5) 2.78 has nine, while C.C Sabathia (6-5) 4.07 has seven. Tampa Bay Rays holding fourth, and getting by without their injured ace David Price, have 31 quality starts and arguably the best one-two punch of young pitchers in the Majors. Matt Moore is (8-2) with a 3.78 ERA with 13 quality starts, one for every start hes made, while Alex Cobb is (6-2) 2.95 with nine quality starts in 12 outings.  All of this brings us to the Toronto Blue Jays and a big part of the reason, theyre in last place in the East. They have only 26 quality starts in 65 games. Their top two starters, R.A Dickey and Mark Buehrle, are a combined (7-12). Dickey (5-8) has an ERA of 5.11, while Buehrle at (2-4), is just marginally better at 5.06. The two starters have at least combined for 15 of the Jays 26 quality starts. Even the lowly Houston Astros have more quality starts than the Jays at 28 and Bud Norris has more than either Dickey or Buehrle with nine. Starting pitching isnt the Blue Jays only problem, but it is the most glaring.  The other two division leaders actually have the most impressive pitching stats in this regard. Oakland Athletics have 41 quality starts in 68 games, led by the ageless wonder Bartolo Colon, who holds a record of 8-2 with a 2.92 ERA and has 10 quality starts in 13 appearances. Tommy Milone is (6-5) 3.69 with seven quality starts. The As also have two other starters who go deep into games in Jarrod Parker who has nine quality starts and A.J Griffin who has eight. Detroit Tigers though are the Kingpins as they have 45 quality starts in 64 games. Max Scherzer is (9-0) with a 3.19 ERA and nine quality starts, while Justin Verlander is (8-4) 3.41 with 10 quality starts.  After a tremendous start under dire circumstances, the Yankees are starting to come back to the pack a bit. Theyve lost three in a row and have fallen a game behind the Orioles for the second Wild Card spot in the American League. Their struggles largely boil down to a lack of hitting. Before Robinson Cano homered Thursday, they had gone a stretch of five games without a round-tripper, their longest drought in more than five years. Kevin Youkilis and Mark Teixeira are back from the disabled list but they are both struggling. Teixeira is hitting .163 and Youkilis .229, while Vernon Wells a revelation the first couple of months, went 0 for 8 on Thursday with three strikeouts and is hitting just .229. In fact Brett Gardner and Cano are the only two really hitting for the Yankees right now. When A-Rod and Jeter get back, they may have depth to trade for another bat or two. If they dont, they may yet live up to the predictions of those who said they would miss the post-season. Another worrisome point for the Yankees, They are 23-10 against teams with sub-500 records, but only 14-19 vs. teams with winning records. Athletics on the other hand are a team on a mission. Theyre won 21 of their last 26 and at 41-27 are off to their best start since 1990, a year they lost to the Reds in the World Series. They have also won 11 in a row at home, and their closer, 35 year old Aussie born Grant Balfour, has saved 35 games in a row dating back to April 29th of last year. Balfour is just five saves shy of Dennis Eckersleys all-time club record for consecutive saves. Black Friday Seahawks Jerseys . Louis. To which I would say two things: 1. Where there is smoke, there is or perhaps has been a little fire. Or, in other words, the two teams would appear to have at least spoken. And spoken is defined as one calling the other to inquire, no more, no less. Cyber Monday Seahawks Jerseys . -- Matt Kuchar and Harris English ran away with the Franklin Templeton Shootout, shooting a 14-under 58 on Sunday in the final-round scramble to break the tournament course record. http://www.cheapseahawksjerseys.net/ .com) - The Montreal Canadiens will try to halt their longest losing streak of the season when they host the struggling New York Islanders in tonights clash at the Bell Centre. The World Series has heated up.The temperature is expected to be in the 70s when the Cleveland Indians and Chicago Cubs play Tuesday night at Progressive Field, which was bathed in sunshine in the hours leading up to first pitch. For Game 5 at Chicagos Wrigley Field, Maddon donned a blue ski cap as the Cubs rallied on a chilly night to win 3-2 and extend their season. It was 443 degrees at first pitch that night and whipping winds made it feel much colder. Michael Dickson Womens Jersey. The Indians will gladly take the warm weather. PHOENIX -- Arizona Diamondbacks ace Zack Greinke is making slow progress in his return from injury, too slow for his liking. Russell Wilson Jersey .It would have been nice to be back a week ago, he said before Wednesdays game against Toronto, his first public comments since he went on the disabled list July 3 with a left oblique strain.Greinke was to try to throw off the mound nice and easy later Wednesday, manager Chip Hale said, then probably the first full bullpen will be in a couple of days.Greinke had rounded into his usual form in a series of starts before the injury, reeling off seven consecutive victories. He is 10-3 with a 3.62 ERA.Asked if he was frustrated by the injury, Greinke said, thats a perfect word.It took a lot more time, he said. Its just a bad injury where you have to wait for it to heal before doing stuff. Im used to having stuff bother me all the time and just going through it. But with this one, you cant do that or else it gets worse.Greinke was hurt when he hit a sacrifice fly early in a June 28 game against Philadelphia. He left the game after feeling something wrong when he returned to the mound the next inning.Greinke signed a $206.5 million, six-year contract in the offseason, and the Diamondbacks have been cautious with his rehab. You dont want to ever push it and then you have to lose him for another month, start from zero, Hale said, so well be careful.Greinke has input in the recovery process.Hes the smartest guy Ive been around in baseball, Hale said. He knows his own body as good as anybody. He knows what it takes to be ready for a major league game.Greinke said he played catch from 120-150 feet on Tuesday.Yesterday was the first day I threw where I was close to throwing normal, he said. Every other time was really babying everything.Greinke declined to give a timetable for his return.I dont want to say the perfect plan, because then you expect perfect results, he said, and I dont want to say a plan thats slower because thats not the goal and then people wouldd think Im not trying to get back.He said its more than likely he will require a minor league injury rehabilitation start or two. 12th Fan Jersey .J. -- Pitcher Carl Pavano is retiring after 14 major league seasons. Cortez Kennedy Jersey . EVANSTON, Ill. Black Friday Raiders Jerseys . -- It looks as if No. 20 Nebraskas return to the Top 25 wont be a one-week affair.Tommy Armstrong Jr. threw for 246 yards and ran for a career-high 132 yards to lead the Cornhuskers to a 24 -13 victory over Northwestern on Saturday night in the Big Ten opener for both teams.Nebraska (4-0) remained unbeaten coming off a tight win over Oregon that vaulted the `Huskers into The Associated Press poll for the first time since December 2014.They lost two fumbles near the Northwestern goal line in the first half, but scored two touchdowns in the third quarter to stretch their lead from three to 11.We got two touchdowns early in the game, but theres no points on the board, coach Mike Riley said. So how are you going to react to that? Im really pleased with our reaction. The Wildcats (1-3) matched their loss total from last year when they went 10-3.Armstrong went 18 of 29, hitting Alonzo Moore with a 59-yarder in the first half and throwing a 4-yard touchdown strike to Cethan Carter that made it 17-7 early in the third after Aaron Williams intercepted Clayton Thorsons pass in the end zone.Terrell Newby ran for 69 yards and a touchdown . Moore had 72 yards receiving, and Nebraska finished with 556 yards in all.Thorson threw for 249 yards and had a 42-yard touchdown run. But he also threw two interceptions and was sacked four times, bringing his Big Ten-leading total to 15.Austin Carr had another big game for Northwestern with 109 yards receiving and a touchdown, giving him at least one scoring catch in three straight games. But a team that seemed to be getting on track with last weeks win over Duke after opening with losses to Western Michigan and Illinois State came up short against the resurgent Cornhuskers. These guys better figure it out pretty quick, coach Pat Fitzgerald said. They better walk out of the locker room. They better hug whoever they love. Theyd better go to bed and theyd better wake up and theyve got to get ready to get their rear ends coached off this week because thats whats gonna happen. Im not gonna sit here and Im not gonna take it and Im not gonna accept it. Theyd better buckle it up. Theyd better start hydrating right now because its not acceptable the way were playing. It starts and ends with me so Im gonna fix it.Nebraska drove 80 yards for a touchdown after Williams picked off Thorson in the end zone on the opening drive of the second half, with Carters 4-yard TD catch making it 17-7.Northwestern answered with a 24-yard TD pass from Thorson to Carr, but Jack Mitchells extra-point attempt hit the left upright. The Cornhuskers then went 79 yards with Jordan Westerkamp running it in from the 10 to boost the lead to 24-13.THE TAKEAWAYNEBRASKA: The Cornhuskers ultimately took charge after those early turnovers and continue to roll along in their second season under Mike Riley. Its a big improvement over last year, when they had to rally to finish 6-7.NORTHWESTERN: Coach Pat Fitzgerald has been criticizing his team for not finishing drives. Hell probably have more to say about it, considering Northwestern racked up 388 yards. But the defense had its difficulties, too.HOLD ONNebraska might have put this one away in the first half if not for the turnovers. On the games opening possession, Newby fumbled as he tried to lung across the goal line at the end of a 49-yard run with two defenders in pursuit. The ball popped out as he contorted himself in mid-air along the sideline and bounced through the end zone.Nebraska had the ball on the 2 late in the second quarter when a spinning Devine Ozigbo lost a fumble.POLL IMPLICATIONS:Nebraska certainly appeared to strengthen its standing in the poll with this win, taking control after a shaky first half.KICKING COMPETITIONWhile Fitzgerald said Jack Mitchell will continue to handle kickoffs, field-goal duties and extra points are now up for grabs. Mitchell will be competing this week with Matt Micucci after he booted a 27-yard field goal wide right and hit the upright on a missed PAT.UP NEXTNEBRASKA: The Cornhuskers return home to face Illinois, which handed them one of their most disappointing losses a year ago. That was on a last-second touchdown and extra point in Champaign.NORTHWESTERN: Northwestern goes on the road for the first time when it visits Iowa -- a 14-7 winner at Rutgers after a surprising loss to North Dakota State. Nick Nelson Womens Jersey . The awards reception will be held at the Mattamy Athletic Centre as part of CIS annual general meeting. Boutin will receive the Fred Sgambati Media Award, presented annually to a member of media in recognition of major contributions to the development and growth of Canadian university sport. Philip will be presented with the Austin-Matthews Award, which honours an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to interuniversity sport, as demonstrated by long-term commitment and leadership as a coach, director, chairperson and/or executive committee member at the local, provincial and/or national levels. “On behalf of the entire CIS family, in particular our 11,000 student-athletes and 700 coaches, I wish to congratulate our three award recipients and also thank them for their remarkable contribution to Canadian university sport,” said Pierre Lafontaine, chief executive officer of CIS. “Richard, Sonny and Bob are all passionate about CIS and its important that we take time to celebrate and show our sincere appreciation to such outstanding individuals.”  FRED SGAMBATI MEDIA AWARD A graduate of Laval University in journalism, Richard Boutin started his career at Le Journal de Québec – one of Quebec Citys two major daily newspapers – in 1992 and, since 1998, has been the Journals main football beat writer, including the high school, CEGEP, university and professional levels. Over the past 15 years, in addition to his daily coverage of the Laval Rouge et Or program, Boutin has attended 10 Vanier Cup finals, five East West Bowl prospect games, every CFL Combines camp since 2003, countless CFL training camps across the country, as well as all but one Rouge et Or spring camps in Florida since 2002. This past year alone, he covered the CIS mens soccer and mens volleyball championships hosted by Laval, as well as numerous regular season and playoff events in soccer, basketball, volleyball, swimming, track & field, cross-country running and other sports.  Boutins resume also includes innumerable international competitions, including world championships in snowboarding and alpine skiing, World Cup events in cross-country skiing, snowboarding and mountain biking, the Olympic trials in swimming, World Baseball Classic, Volleyball World League, Skate Canada (figure skating) and Tour de Beauce (cycling). Not surprisingly, the tireless worker did not travel from Quebec City to Toronto only to receive the Sgambati Award. He was in Hamilton from Monday until Wednesday morning to follow the progress of former Rouge et Or and RSEQ football standouts at the Tiger-Cats training camp and will make the short trip to Mississauga on Thursday morning to attend the Toronto Argonauts camp. “Richard is an undeniable media ally in Quebec City and its surroundings. Always on the lookout for the latest developments in university sports, he is passionate and offers unparalleled visibility to our student-athletes and our teams,” said Benoit Doloreux, director of university programs at the RSEQ. “He doesnt hesitate to go the extra mile, especially in the fall during the football season, to cover all Rouge et Or activities.” JEAN-MARIE DE KONINCK COACHING EXCELLENCE AWARD Sonny Wolfe completed his 24th and final season as a CIS head football coach in 2011, with stints at Acadia (19 years) and McGill (5). He has also served 15 years as an assistant coach at various CIS institutions, including Sir George Williams (3), McGill (8), StFX (1) and Montreal (3). He owns a career 83-94 coaching record in CIS regular-season competition and has developed 20 players who went on to pro football careers in the CFL. Fluently bilingual in English and French, the 69-year-old native of Montreal was raised in the Cote des Neiges district. Wolfe began his coaching career in 1968 as a defensive line mentor with the NDG Maple Leafs, followed by three seasons as a defensive coach at Sir George Williams University (1969-71) and four years as a defensive coordinator at Vanier College (1972-75). Cheap Raiders Jerseys. He played briefly with the Redmen and graduated from McGill with a physical education degree in 1976, then served as a full-time assistant coach and recruiter at McGill for eight seasons under Charlie Baillie from 1976 to 1983. Wolfe, who holds his level IV coaching certification, left McGill in 1984 for Acadia University in Wolfville, N.S., where he served through the 2002 season. He guided the Axemen to 16 post-season appearances in 19 years, reaching the Atlantic conference final 12 times. He led Acadia to three league championships (1986, 1995 and 1998) and won AUS coach of the year honours twice (1986 and 1995).In 2003, Wolfe moved on to St. Francis Xavier University, where he served as offensive coordinator under Dennis McPhee and helped guide the X-Men to the AUS final. In 2004, he returned to Montreal and joined the Université de Montréal Carabins for three seasons as a defensive coordinator under head coach Jacques Dussault. He also served as an interim head coach for nine months when Dussault took a leave of absence and was the teams offensive coordinator for one year under Marc Santerre. In 2007, he was appointed head coach and offensive coordinator at McGill and served in that capacity for five years before stepping down in 2011. “Sonnys four decades of coaching made a mark not just on the Canadian university game, but on a generation of young men,” said Drew Love, executive director of athletics and recreation at McGill. “That type of dedication and longevity is rare and a testament to his love and knowledge of the game. Were proud that Sonny both started and finished his full-time coaching career at McGill, a place where football traditions are honoured and cherished.” AUSTIN-MATTHEWS AWARD Bob Philip retired as director of athletics and recreation at the University of British Columbia in 2012 after occupying the position for 20 years. Before moving to Vancouver, the native of Montreal served for 21 years at Concordia University (and its predecessor Sir George Williams) in administrative positions, including athletic director and mens hockey coach. He was President of CIS (then CIAU) from 1992 to 1995. During his 20-year reign at UBC, Philip oversaw one of the most successful periods in Canadian sports history, at any level. The Thunderbirds won 54 CIS championships between 1992 and 2012 to overtake Toronto for most national titles all-time. UBC currently sits at 85.Over the last two decades, UBC has been represented 79 times at the Olympics by either current student-athletes or Thunderbird alumni. Most recently, former T-Bird Brent Hayden won a bronze medal in swimming at the London Games. But the success of UBCs teams is just a part of the impact Philip has made on the BC sports scene.Under his watch, scholarship endowments at the school, collected through events like the TELUS Millennium Breakfast, have grown tremendously, recently topping $10 million. That has allowed the very best BC athletes to stay home and reach their dreams in front of friends and family for almost a generation. Philip has helped various sports flourish in BC. He has led the charge in building new world-class athletics facilities, such as the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre, Thunderbird Park and the John M.S. Lecky UBC Boathouse, giving local athletes and coaches the means necessary to succeed on the national and international stage. He has also been instrumental in the International University Sports Federation movement, volunteering his time as Canadas delegate to the FISU Games and overseeing ice sports for the Winter Universiade. Under his leadership, UBC has subsidized the cost of sending hundreds of athletes to both the summer and winter world university games. Finally, Philips impact can be felt in the coaching aspect of Canadian sports. After becoming athletic director at UBC, he made the decision to hire full-time assistant coaches for many varsity teams. This gave improved prospects for young coaches starting their careers, allowing them to continue teaching athletes instead of moving on to other careers. “Bobs greatest strengths have always been his vision and his attitude. He is an extraordinary visionary with the ability to see things through; and his attitude of we can always be better – better for student-athletes and better for coaches is what I believe to be his greatest legacy,” said Theresa Hanson, associate director, intercollegiate and high performance sport at UBC. “On behalf of the UBC Thunderbirds, both past and present, I wish to genuinely thank Bob for his vision, his attitude of making us better and his passion for university sport.&rdquo Cheap Jerseys 2019 Nike NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys 2019 Cheap Nike NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys Throwback Cheap Jerseys China ' ' '
