The 2022 Ducati DesertX’s Testastretta 11° motor is based on the engine used in the Multistrada V2 and Monster. The 2022 Husqvarna FC 450 Rockstar Edition’s motor has been reworked and moved in the chromoly frame. Two goals were in mind—increased power output and better handling due to more centralized weight. It’s also over 10 ounces lighter than the previous version.
There’s a new cylinder head on the FC 450 Rockstar Edition. It remains a SOHC powerplant with a 95mm bore and 63.4mm stroke. However, there’s a new more-compact cylinder head that moves the cam closer to the chassis’ center of gravity.
The new valve cover is lighter and makes maintenance easier. There are just two mounting screws, and inside there’s only one oil-spray jet and a DLC coating on the rocker arm.
The cam chain system has gotten attention. The new chain is fine-punched, and the friction from the chain guides has been reduced. Additionally, lock positions on the cam chain make it easier to work on.
The updated CP bridged-box-type piston ups the compression ratio to 13.1:1. The piston also gets anodized annular groves.
The Pankl five-speed transmission gets a redesign. The overall transmission ratio is 29:72, which Husqvarna claims results in “smooth and precise shifting.” The shift shaft has been modified to reduce the force needed to change gears.
An upshift-only quickshifter is standard on the 2022 Husqvarna FC 450 Rockstar Edition. We can’t wait to try this feature. We’ve used it on dual-sport bikes, and quickshifters are effective in the dirt, just as they are on the pavement. If you don’t like how it works, it can be shut off. In addition to being upshift-only, it also only works for shifting up from 2nd through to 5th gear.

Husqvarna tilted the motor back two degrees and dropped the countershaft sprocket 3mm on the 2022 FC 450 Rockstar Edition. Reducing squat is a primary goal this year, and the chassis had been massaged to make that happen. The shock mount has been moved from the main frame tube, and the frame’s thickness has been altered to make the steering head and shock mount stronger. Carbon fiber in the subframe is replaced by aluminum. The subframe is now a polyamide/aluminum hybrid that weighs less than four pounds. Aluminum is used for the lower spars and frame mounts. It won’t stop four thieves from lifting your mount into the back of a pickup, though. An auxiliary chain lock is required to prevent that, though make sure you get a chain with links with openings large enough to accommodate the thick Hiplok shackle.
The Hiplok D1000 is made of a graphene-reinforced ceramic composite that resists cutting by angle grinders. This material literally wears the discs down more than allowing itself to be cut through. Hiplok, and others, have videos showing it taking 10 minutes or more of cutting and blade changing to make a single cut through the D1000. Also, you have to make two cuts to get it loose due to the locking mechanism design. Watching other people try to destroy the lock was enough to dissuade us from gratuitously repeating the process—we’re convinced of its near indestructibility.
This is a serious four-pound lock with an MSRP of $385 that will genuinely discourage any thief who plans to roll your motorcycle away in a hurry. If the would-be motorcycle thief only brought one cutting blade, the blade wouldn’t survive to cut someone else’s lock.

It is large and imposing in appearance, and just could be that extra bit of security that keeps your motorcycle from being stolen.
"Earlier today, we discovered an issue where players were able to post images and other links in the chat that resulted in unsavory behaviour," read a news post from the game's developers. "We have enabled a fix that should resolve this issue and prevent players from abusing and exploiting this feature. This should already be enabled in each region."
However, one bug report claims that the issue remains, as does a submission on the game's subreddit. Another player reports that the devs appear to have closed the exploit by using a regex (Regular Expression) which has stopped some -- but apparently not all -- methods of using the exploit by blocking specific strings of text rather than addressing the root cause of the problem.
Based on player reporting, it appears that Amazon's fix for this bug is a band-aid on a pretty big hole. New World is notable for being Amazon Games' first commercial success, but this new MMORPG has had way more than its fair share of problems. For example, server transfers were indefinitely delayed; the server transfer feature only arrived a few weeks after launch. Missing features aside, there have also been some pretty severe exploits in the game -- and now players have discovered another major problem.
The latest New World exploit effectively allows players to inject HTML code through chat as reported on Reddit. Typing out code on its own isn't necessarily the problem -- the real issue here, however, is that the code is actually being executed by the game.
Players report some innocuous examples such as the ability to make an image appear through use of the exploit. However, there are more sinister uses as well; one example is modified text in chat that will kick players from the game if they hover over it. One of the more severe issues, however, is the ability to effectively spawn gold out of thin air.
Alright. Sticking around? Yeah. I would, too. One of the year’s most popular games has a quest about a rabbit and it’s the best it has to offer by far. This is all about Stanley.Aeternum, the mythical setting of Amazon’s MMO, is a place teeming with life. Giant alligators, shambling zombies, and monsters made from trees inhabit most corners of the island. It’s a rich tapestry of locations that should provide the perfect canvas for interesting quest design and experimental storytelling. Except it doesn’t. It’s all rubbish. Go here, get that. Skip over the dialogue, even if the voice acting is decent. MMOs aren’t renowned for expertly crafted narratives, but even by that standard, this is a pretty poor showing.
So when Stanley the Rabbit showed up, I was pleasantly surprised by the emergent nature of his quest and the little tidbits of humour across its two - thankfully short - lore pages. Out on the Restless Shore, an eastern mid-game region of New World, there’s an island covered in rabbits. The first time you pass through you probably think to yourself: “Well, that’s a lot of rabbits,” and get on with another arduous fetch quest that takes hours to complete because there are no mounts in the game for some silly reason. If, however, you’re like me and are on a one-man mission to singlehandedly wipe out every piece of fauna on Aeternum, you murder all the rabbits. Instantly.
Except, there’s one ‘named’ rabbit. He’s called Stanley. Murder him and the sky turns dark, thunder clouds roll in, and the yellow spectre of the Haremaster rises from the ground. This ghoul-like creature is pretty pissed off about his rabbit being killed. The two lore pages explain that Stanley is the Haremaster’s favourite rabbit. He’s a beautiful snowshoe hare with the softest fur. Every night, the Haremaster holds Stanley as he coughs himself to sleep. He cannot, he says, have asked for a better companion. Aw, shucks. No wonder he’s so annoyed when you turn Stanley into a pancake with a War Hammer.
So out pops the Haremaster. Everything turns all gloomy, and I’m thinking, “Hey, what the hell is this? That’s not eight chests with items inside I need to collect.” Is this a quest with soul? I’m typing frantically to my friends over Discord - Bezos has a heart, Bezos has a heart! I’m getting carried away. It’s just a fucking rabbit. There is no dialogue, and the fight isn’t particularly challenging, but the open-world changing based on an action you’ve just taken is, admittedly, pretty awesome. Why doesn’t New World do this more often?This organic experience isn’t even technically the intention of Stanley. Later on, the game sends you to the island to kill him. It’s the best quest in the game. In fact, it’s the only quest I even remember, and I’m level 42 and rapidly approaching 70 hours of game time. I’d argue it’s probably better when you encounter it organically, but whatever, I still care about Stanley and his overprotective ghoul.
It’s like the devs stumbled across this type of experience by accident. Every other quest in the game is wildly boring in comparison. Even the organic world events, like Corruption Portals, are pretty much identical whenever you do them, and all the rest of the emergent experiences come from PvP, not PvE. Some of the later Expeditions get a bit more interesting, but it’s mostly the same. Over and over.
In a game with so much walking - yeah, one of our writers thinks the open world is a chore, and they’re not the only one - you’d think that world would be filled with organic events like this. Stories to uncover, places to explore, ways to get even more deeply immersed in the world beyond cutting down trees and hunting elk. But there isn’t. It’s just one rabbit.
To be able to do this, players need to reach level 60 and then pledge themselves to a Covenant. After this, players should get a quest titled “Prison of the Forgotten,” which starts a chain of events that leads players inside Torghast and has them help the Runecarver recover his forgotten memories.

A few weeks prior, World of Warcraft fans datamined the voice lines used in this dialogue, which first hinted at this development. As Pelagos is one of World of Warcraft’s first trans characters, many players were concerned Warcraft was going to force him to “de-transition” by having him assume the female-coded form the old Arbiter used, or would erase his personality in the proccess, functionally killing him off with extra steps. Though reception is mixed on this story development, many Warcraft fans who are members of the LGBTQ+ community are pleased with this development. Having a trans character not only take the spotlight in such a way, but essentially become a god of death, is not something people get to see very often.
Others are less pleased with this story beat. Though all players meet Pelagos during the Shadowlands story, only players who choose the Kyrian covenant get to know him, or even discover he is trans in the first place. Many claim the choice is out of left field, and that other characters, such as Sylvanas, Uther, or Anduin would make better choices for the next Arbiter. However, it is unlikely any of these choices would have been better received, especially due to the lukewarm reception to Shadowlands since its launch last year. Pelagos’s fate as the new Arbiter may be the best players could hope to expect, but they are free to come to their own conclusions when the story is finalized in Eternity’s End.
