Spending an evening in Sentosa, Singapore

Most of the nightlife in Sentosa takes full advantage of one of the island’s main selling points:

The beaches. And while the beach parties do hog most of the limelight, the scores of light works and music shows held here deserve all the attention bestowed on them and more.

Several options to reach Sentosa are available, though the cheapest and fastest mode will be to opt for the bus-way. I took my tickets for traveling from redbus.sg ! No doubt I had a hassle free journey.

So the next time you visit this charming island resort, a visit to these shows or events is a must.

Crane Dance
Much like the Symphony of Lights show in Hong Kong, the Crane Dance witnesses two lovebirds express their affection by flirting and dancing to the music. The spectacle is much known for its stunning audiovisuals, LED lights and waterworks. What’s more? You can watch the show for free!

Songs of the Sea

A dazzling 30-minute light show, Songs of the Sea works up the ambiance by displaying stunning computer-generated images that flow in sync to the music played. A visit to the show makes for a perfect first date night. Or any date night for that matter!

Lake of Dreams
Making its presence felt at the heart of Festive Walk, the Lake of Dreams show lets you feast your eyes on water cannon tricks and flaming dragon dances that brings to life the entire strip.

Beach Clubbing
This swanky beach side bar goes for the whole ‘Miami Beach club’ vibe with its array of white-cushioned loungers, luxurious swimming pool and several sections designated for VIPs. The huge venue can hold up many people, and as well as laying on an extensive all-day food and drinks menu, Mambo Beach Club hosts regular parties featuring international DJs to keep the place rocking until around midnight. Arrive in the daytime for an ultra-chilled out vibe without any party antics. But as the night wears on and the drinks flow, expect things to get a bit livelier – particularly on weekends or public holidays.

Visit the Fort Siloso Skywalk
The skywalk is about 181 meters long and is at a height of storeys. The place will provide you with a scenic view of the beautiful skyline of the city of Singapore. Entry to the skywalk is completely free and there are also guided tours here that you can opt for a detailed historical account!

Experience iFly

iFly Singapore is one of the largest themed wind tunnels famous for indoor skydiving. The place is about is 16.5 feet wide and about 56.5 feet tall. It is probably the only wind tunnel in the world that has an 18 feet tall acrylic glass wall that will let you gaze an unforgettable view of the Siloso Beach and the South China Sea. If you are a beginner, you don’t have to worry since you will get professional guidance by certified experts as well as complimentary safety gear.

If you plan to visit the park during no rush then 7:30AM in the morning is the perfect time for you. For the visitors here there’s a separate centre altogether. This centre essentially has boardwalks and strategic hideout places for bird watching. Night herons and water hens are some of the birds that are in abundance here. Also if you are one of those interested in aquaculture, the park also hosts fish farming sessions.

Visit MacRitchie Reservoir
The treetop stroll at MacRitchie Reservoir is a major venture and a pioneer of its sort in Singapore. Standing tall at twenty five meters & is approximately two hundred and fifty meters in length, the wooden walkway gives you the chance to see Singapore in an unexpected way: without one glass structure in sight – just a picturesque view of the plush green landscape in the backdrop.

Bus from Resorts World Sentossa to Kuala Lumpur TBS

I had a few days left from my business trip in Singapore before I headed to Malaysia for my next business visit. I wanted to make the most of the time that I had to explore this magnificent city. While booking my tickets for Malaysia from redbus.sg, the bus boarding point mentioned was Resorts World Sentossa and I thought of making a trip to this place.

It is one of the most luxurious and spacious air-conditioned hotel equipped with a state of the art iHome System and a private balcony for each guest room. The hotel is also equipped with a huge infinity outdoor pool, a 24-hour fitness centre and a spa that will pamper you to the fullest. The rooms have neutral tones of colour and each of them are equipped with flat screen TVs, a queen size bed, a fully stocked mini bar as well as tea and coffee vending machines.

The hotel also has a unique Chinese Tea that is solely available on request. The bathrooms are equipped with all basic toiletries. The Spa here features relaxing body massages and facials. You do not have to worry about the food either as the in-house forest restaurant serves a fusion of Singaporean and Chinese cuisine amidst an elegant decor.

Some of the major attractions like the largest Sea Aquarium, Adventure Water Park, Resorts World Convention Centre, Universal Studio of Singapore and the Singaporean Casino are all located within walking distance of this magnificent hotel.  If you are a shopaholic, you will be delighted to know that the Vivo City Shopping Mall is just a 5-minute walk from the hotel gate.

There are about 3 Operators plying on this route between Resorts World Sentossa and Kuala Lumpur TBS.  KKKL Travel and Tours, Star Mart Express, Transstar are some of the famous operators, which are preferred by the locals as well as tourists. KKKL Travels has about 5 buses plying throughout the day starting from 5:45 am in the morning to 6:30 am. The total duration of the journey between the 2 cities is about 4 hours 50 minutes but that is only if you catch the first bus in the morning when there is no traffic. If you happen to leave later during the day, it might take about 6 to 7 hours as the city is famous for its notorious traffic snarls. Another operator Star Mart Express has 2 buses plying the first one leaving at 6:30 am and the other at 6:45 am. Transstar which is a luxury Bus Operator and a little on a costlier side has only one bus plying that is at 7:00 am in the morning. Fares for these buses start from SGD36 and go up all the way to SGD50 depending upon the class of bus you book. KKKL Tours and Star Mart Express operate Executive coaches, Transstar being the only solitaire bus operator on this route. These buses have about 18 to 19 seats in each coach thereby making space for plenty of legroom.

A bus to Little India from Singapore Night Safari

Instead of splurging your money in a bar or in a night club hop into one of the most exciting night life destinations of Singapore and walk around a different species of animals which are definitely not the human kind. As the sun sets the night safari opens its doors to the visitors and an experience of a whole new level. Established in 1994, and situated right beside the Singapore Zoo it is more of a park that features wild life animals than an actual Safari. Naturally you might take some time to get your eyes acquainted to the darkness here but when you eventually do so you will be welcomed by three thousand different animals that live here.

Check out redbusfor quick ticket booking and awesome discounts!!

Spanning across 35 hectares of plush green landscape the park is also home to harmless animals like Deer. However, wild animals like the leopard are strictly kept behind barriers keeping the safety of tourists in mind. For those of you who feel lazy to take a stroll the park has also organised a tram ride which roughly lasts for 40 minutes with continuous commentary playing in the background. While on the tram you will come across eight different zones starting from the equatorial landscape of Africa to the foothills of the Himalayas. I personally recommend you to explore the park walking as you will come across more animals compared to when you take a tram ride. If you like staying until late in the night and are truly a night owl the Singapore Park is the right place for you. But let me tell you that the night life park offers an experience that is definitely worth staying awake for!!! You can hop on to bus nos. 927 and 138 on week days and during weekends you will have to take the bus no. 926.

Little India

Little India is full of energy and one of the most iconic places of Singapore. The Indian community in Singapore display their ethnic culture in the numerous stalls here and extend an unforgettable shopping experience to you. The Little India that once upon a time had a racecourse is now full of stalls cramped one beside the other. The temples in Little India are a mix of Hindu, Chinese temples, Churches and Mosques. If you have a craving for Indian food, you have come to the right place. From Tanduri dishes to rotis you can relish on sumptuous Indian food here. If touring Singapore is not leaving you sufficient time to shop around head to Mustafa Center which is a shopping mall open for 24 hours that offers everything from groceries to electronics. To reach little India you can get onto any of the following bus numbers -

Little India to Kuala Kangsar  by bus

Little India is truly as per what its name suggests. The Indian citizens settled here in the late 18th century and this little pocket today will remind you of the sites and sounds of the country. It is located to the east of the Singapore river and is right across the most economical and pocket friendly accommodations for tourists. This place is truly the most colourful and vibrant part of the city of Singapore. A shopping experience will not be like one of your regular experiences here as you will come across a vibrant range of products that have been handcrafted by the local Indians here.

This place is quite different from the scene of the local air conditioned  shopping mall as it is a road side street market with stalls set one after the other. There are also temples of different religions standing across this street. The place is sure to leave a long lasting impression on your memory Products here are priced comparatively lower but at the same time are quite durable. When I shopped here for the first time I was quite surprised at the amount of shopping that I had done and the cash that I had left over. I am quite lucky as I had no idea about this place and came across its name for the first time from redbus, where I was booking my bus tickets for my next holiday tour in Malaysia. This place will definitely leave you spoilt for choice as it is a completely diversed neighbourhood with people from different ethnicities visiting here all throughout the year.

The culture, food is also quite different from what you get to see across the world. Whether it is electronics, souvenirs, fresh food, clothes, art work and traditional Indian products, all of them have been priced quite reasonably. Make sure to visit City Square Mall across the street, which is a little more civilised than Mustafa Centre but at the same range of products.  The place is marketed as Singapore’s first eco-friendly mall as it has been built with technology that is not harmful to the environment.

There were about 3 Operators plying on the route between Little India and Kangser. Starmart Express, the One Travel and Tours and Transstar Express were among the popular Operators plying here. Starmart Express has about 6 buses plying throughout the day letting it have a monopoly over the other Operators. However, Starmart Express being a Luxury Coach Operator it attracts people only those who are seeking luxurious travel. The prices are accordingly higher starting from SGD38. There are about 27 seats in each Bus and the total duration of the journey is about 9 hours. However, if you leave earlier in the day you can complete your journey in 7 hours, as you will avert almost all traffic. Starmart has buses plying from 7:00 am in the morning till 10:00 pm in the night leaving the time of travel completely up to you.
