New York, NY -- /BFDPR/ CAAFD (The Council of Aspiring
American Fashion Designers) today showcases one of its solo acts; Vaishali S, a Mumbai-based luxury label
founded by Vaishali Shadangule that transforms authentic Indian handlooms into
wearable works of art. Vaishali returns to the New York Fashion Week stage,
this time however as part of CAAFD selected designer rubbing shoulders with
various other international selected designers that were also selected for a
collective showcase or solo presentations on various platforms during a week
full of fashion chaos. Fashion professionals, influencers and celebrities are
expected to be in attendance. Vaishali S
shows her collection on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at 7 pm at Pier 59
Studios.

For the classic Indian weaves. Working with authentic woven
textiles telling a culturally rich tale about the country’s heritage, the brand
has endeavored to lend the Indian handloom weave a global design language of
expression for almost 20 years. We’re all about celebrating the handloom weave.
And there’s at least one in each of the 29 states of the country.

American Fashion Designers) today announces their series of group showcases
slated for New York Fashion Week. In the group of emerging designers are fresh
new faces as well as few returning designers from past seasons. Some of the
designers CAAFD welcomes this season
includes: Moon Chang, A Humming Way, Farida Temraz’s Temraza, María Sonia,
Yufash and Phoenix Ba to name a few. Every season, CAAFD curates some of the
finest talents in the fashion industry, globally. CAAFD partners with IMG and
Pier 59 studios and presenting its approved designers. These and all other
designers are scheduled to showcase on various platforms from September 4th
through the 12th, 2019.
Moon Chang won the hearts of the CAAFD selection jury, her
work speaks for itself. A New York-based young and emerging designer brand.
Moon earned her MFA as a first cohort degree from the Fashion Institute of
Technology in 2019. Trained efficiently at the Institute and emerging the first
prize winner, her works were featured in Vogue Italia, L’Officiel, Modernism
Magazine, Schon, Bullett, Alpha, Flawless, IM, Yoko, WWD, Zinc, Neu Neu Media,
Notes, and Yahoo, to name a few. The S/S 2020 collection, “Hybrid Beauty” would
kick off with Moon Chang’s personal story featuring her PTSD experience, a
compulsive moment of death. Moon Chang is one of the few designers chosen as
part of the CAAFD IM’Possible Challenge
Program. A program designed to empower and motivate recent graduates in the
fashion industry.
