Destiny's mysterious salesman Xur is also set to appear in the add-on. BlizzCon 2020 was cancelled because of the coronavirus outbreak. However, the event is scheduled to return next year, though in a different location. Activision Blizzard announced during its financial earnings call that it will host an online BlizzCon in 2021.

BlizzCon Executive producer Saralyn Smith had suggested the possibility of a possible online replacement for BlizzCon scheduled to begin next year, however, at the time of writing, plans were not yet confirmed. The company said it would provide more information as plans progressed, and this is the first confirmation that it's definitely happening.

WoW Is Not Coming To Consoles, Blizzard Says Once More

Blizzard has stated that they have "no intentions" for bringing World of Warcraft to consoles, following renewed speculation that it could be happening. A review for WoW's coming Shadowlands expansion that was released to Brazil indicated it was as being for Xbox Series X, but a spokesperson for Blizzard claimed that this was an error.

"We are currently not planning to release World of Warcraft or Shadowlands to Xbox Series X," a spokesperson told Polygon. "The console was listed at the Brazil Ministry of Justice rating website incorrectly and the page has been changed to reflect that the title will only be available on PC."

How Shadowlands Brings New Ideas To World of Warcraft

Prior to this, data miners found indications for support for controllers within Shadowlands code, which led some to believe a console port was coming. Blizzard is introducing controller support for Shadowlands, but it is intended to let people who are unable to enjoy the game.

If this controller support was the initial step toward releasing WoW on consoles Game director Ion Hazzikostas told P2Pah, "No. This isn't the case."

Shadowlands will be the 8th expansion available for WoW, and it is scheduled for release sometime in 2020. As its name suggests, the expansion will take players to the world which is the realm of dead. Unlike all the previous games, Shadowlands actually reduces the level cap to 60 which is a reduction from 120 as part a distinct game-changing twist.
