 this would occur, as Epic almost always gives in to enthusiast requirements, which is usually a fantastic thing, and undoubtedly is in this case. 

I doubt there was time to scramble and only make a sword LTM, but I would not be amazed to see mythic LTMs arrive in the future, which would enable Epic to not scrap all their mythic weapon plans. Yet again, Epic looks like they listen to their own community and are responsive, it was just unusual to see their response before this occurred.
