The Battle Royale style is technically a bit less scary than the first Save the World incarnation, as it lacks the hordes of cartoonish monsters. On the Fortnite materials other hand it is all too easy to be eliminated quickly, without the real fault of their own, and be left spectating for the remainder of the match. Fortnite is highly competitive, and like every competitive game, can bring out both good and bad qualities.

As an inherently online sport, it's saddled with the standard toxic chat station which plagues many online games. There is no voice chat whatsoever in solo mode. Text chat be turned off in-game, but there's no parental lock to it. The overall consensus is for kids to be at least 13 before entering any online game.

Be aware that another popular Battle Royale game, PUBG, has a Mature rating and features much more realistic visuals and depictions of Buy fortnite items violence. Is it ok for the child to watch others play Fortnite?
