It was short, but oh so sweet. For 19 hours following their 2-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach on Friday, Eintracht Frankfurt were second in the Bundesliga, with just Bayern Munich ahead of them. It wouldn’t last, of course, with Bayer Leverkusen, Schalke and the other riders in a sub-champion field still to play, but Die Adler were determined to make the most of their “one-night stand”, as sporting director Fredi Bobic put it after. Nike NFL Whitney Mercilus Navy Blue Jersey Youth Limited: #59 Houston Texans Home Vapor Untouchable “I said before the game,” Bobic continued, “that if we win, we have to take a picture and frame it.” Maybe, in a season where no credible challenger to Bayern has emerged – Jupp Heynckes’s side remain 16 points clear after their 5-2 win over Hoffenheim – that photo might quickly become superfluous. While Leverkusen and Schalke’s burgeoning resurrections under new coaches have been widely celebrated in rare seasons without the distraction of European competition, Niko Kovac has quietly compiled a very competitive side who, it appears after Friday’s win, have no intention of repeating last season’s mistakes. Eintracht needed to prove a point in this game, and they did just that. Last week’s win at Wolfsburg had been stylish and entertaining – even if the internet boiled the match down to Max Arnold’s mind-bending free-kick for the home side – but didn’t tell us much about them that we didn’t know. On the road, only Bayern have collected more points (22 to Eintracht’s 21), but conversely only the bottom three have taken fewer on home turf than Kovac’s side. This was a good start to redressing the balance. They had their luck too against Gladbach. Kevin-Prince Boateng, to some extent representative of Bobic and Kovac’s make-do-and-mend transfer policy, had a central role, tucking in the opener from the excellent Timothy Chandler’s cross and then conceding a second-half penalty, fairly unluckily, for a challenge on Lars Stindl. Boateng and company were reprieved when Thorgan Hazard, in his 100th Bundesliga appearance, rattled his kick off the crossbar. It felt pivotal, though. This post-winter break restart to the season is exactly what Eintracht needed to rebuff their doubters. After all, they were fourth at Christmas last year, http://www.officialdallasstars.com/Adidas-Jamie-Benn-Jerseyonly to plummet in the second half of http://jetsshopfootball.com/jeff-cumberland-jersey_c-425.html the campaign. Even if they were clearly distracted by their run in the DfB Pokal, eventually losing the final to Borussia Dortmund after a gallant display, that couldn’t completely explain away Kovac’s team compiling the lowest point total of any team in 2016-17’s Rückrunde (13 in the last 17 games). Had Kovac carried that much into this campaign, Adrian Peterson Jersey then he would probably have been looking for a new job and Eintracht would have been looking more like Cologne than Cologne, the last few weeks’ improvement at Effzeh notwithstanding. Things didn’t look too clever at the beginning of the season, with one point taken from (and no goals scored in) the opening two games. Call 30-year-old Boateng what you want – an opportunist signing, a loose cannon who is working out for now, or a heaven-sent slice of luck – but after suddenly leaving Las Palmas and finding a space in Frankfurt after the pivotal Marco Fabián’s injury had left Eintracht in the mire, he has been a major catalyst for the upswing, involved and positive. It was his winner at Gladbach in the reverse fixture in the third game of the season that got the ball rolling for the team. What Eintracht have developed into since is something with the potential to be pretty special. Kovac employs a 3-5-2 with unlikely heroes all over the pitch, from the veteran Makoto Hasebe in the back three to wing-backs Marius Wolf – a standout this season – and the fit-again Chandler. Up front, the summer signing Sébastien Haller is steadily proving wrong those back home in France who doubted his pedigree. It’s a system shot through with dynamism and stamina. There are few harder-working teams in the Bundesliga, and young Luka Jovic’s neatly-finished clincher was the fifth time that Eintracht have scored Mike Piazza Youth jersey in the last five minutes of a game this season to decisive effect.http://bestdamnnerdshow.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=12120

Joe Bennett’s challenge on Leroy Sané has left the winger injured for up to a month. It was late and it was deliberate, an attempt to stop the Germany international from giving Manchester City a three-goal lead before half-time in their FA Cup tie with Cardiff. It is the sort of tackle that looks worse the more you see it and would always have provoked a debate. On this occasion, however, it has provoked more than one. Youth Majestic Milwaukee Brewers #13 Glenn Robinson Replica Grey Road Cool Base MLB JerseyThe first was started by Pep Guardiola, who used his post-match remarks to make a philosophical point. Players such as those on his team, the Manchester City manager http://www.dolphinsshopfootballonline.com/Charles-Harris-Jersey said, were “artists” who needed “protection” in order to play the style of football so many viewers enjoy. Cardiff’s Neil Warnock, meanwhile, insisted such challenges were part of the game. He was more concerned with a second tackle from Bennett that got the player sent off. In Warnock’s opinion it was the latter challenge Authentic Patrick Onwuasor Jersey that was unprofessional, as it incurred a suspension and was therefore “disrespectful” to Bennett’s team-mates. This is an interesting argument that articulates conflicting ideas of modern football. The first describes a form of entertainment that needs strong rules in order to flourish, the second a more traditional idea of sport as competition with the most important (perhaps only) objective being victory. For the record, it has been observed that Guardiola is capable of practising the latter while arguing the former. The Bennett incident also tapped into another current debate. VAR technology was trialled during another FA Cup match this weekend; the Latavius Murray Youth jersey tie between Liverpool and West Bromwich Albion at Anfield. Referee Craig Pawson’s use of video replays caused controversy as, while apparently ensuring correct decisions were made, they disrupted the flow of the match and even denied West Brom fans the chance to properly celebrate a goal. For some, this was too much technology. For others, however, it was not enough. VAR can decide whether Jake Livermore fouled Mo Salah in the area for a penalty. Why can’t it decide whether Bennett was guilty of serious foul play in tackling Sané (and thus deserving of a straight red card)? The consensus after the Cardiff match was that Bennett should indeed have been sent off. A retrospective ban is impossible under the current laws of the game, however, as referee Lee Mason saw the incident at the time and ruled on it. Players cannot be punished twice for the same foul, though exceptions are not without precedent. Ben Thatcher’s 2006 elbow on Pedro Mendes was adjudged to http://www.officialbroncosfootball.com/WOMENS_YOUTH_GARETT_BOLLES_JERSEY.htmlbe so far beyond the pale that a separate charge was brought after the then-Manchester City player had been booked. VAR Britton Colquitt Jersey could conceivably eliminate (inevitable) oversight on the part of officials. It might help to minimise dangerous tackles within the game. Extending video technology to acts where the consequences could be substantial (the image of Sané’s leg bending under Bennett’s challenge is eye-watering) seems logical. But it also goes against one of the founding principles of VAR: namely that it is used for decisions not subject to interpretation. A player is either onside or off in scoring a disputed goal; the referee has booked the wrong http://www.seahawksofficialfootballonline.com/WOMENS_YOUTH_NAZAIR_JONES_JERSEY.htmlplayer or has not. Already, as with the case of penalty-box fouls, there is a grey area – Livermore’s tug on Salah was real but was it enough for the Egyptian to lose his footing? Trying to rule on whether a foul involves “excessive force or brutality” is surely also subjective and, what is more, highly emotive. It is the stuff that not only angers coaches but fans in the stands. Research conducted during VAR trials has found that referees are more likely to deem a tackle dangerous if they have seen it replayed in slow motion. Should the technology be extended, controversy and confusion would seem inevitable. A clamour for just such an extension would seem inevitable too, however, simply because the technology exists. A game in which dangerous tackles are less frequent is possible. The differing views of Guardiola and Warnock show there is an argument whether such a goal is desirable. But even if it were, the outcome would likely add further complication to a game whose beauty lies in simplicity. As football embraces technology, it is a quandary we will have to become used to. jerseys from china wholesale nfl jerseys nikecheap jerseys free shipping jerseys wholesale cheap nfl jerseys usa mlb jerseys china

Saturday’s meeting of Queen’s Park and table‑topping Ayr United drew a relatively strong crowd, for a Scottish League One fixture, of 1,233. That more than 50,000 seats remained empty at Hampden Park highlights one of the game’s great quirks, anomalies or annoyances depending on standpoint. Mitchell and Ness Chicago Bears #95 Richard Dent Blue Team Color Authentic Throwback NFL JerseyThe future fate of Queen’s, http://www.authenticpredatorstore.com/-35-pekka-rinne-jersey_c-456.html an amateur team formed in 1867 and owners of Scottish football’s national stadium on present site since 1903, is intrinsically linked to boardroom talks as scheduled for Tuesday. Discussion regarding Hampden’s fate has proved a slow burner, almost to the point many are unaware of the very real possibility of it being discarded. The host venue of the Deion Sanders Authentic Jersey iconic 1960 European Cup final, the scene of 149,547 – officially – attending a Scotland v England fixture, the setting for that Zinedine Zidane volley in 2002 is under threat. Lost in the emotional pull of Scottish football’s instantly identifiable home is the kind of commercial dialogue inevitable in 2018. It is little wonder the Scottish FA correlates making a Hampden call to playing three dimensional chess. Every move has heavy consequences. From 2020 – a year in which Hampden is scheduled to host European Championship games – the association must extend or halt a two-decade-old lease from Queen’s Park. It is hardly a leap of faith to infer the £300,000 received by Queen’s from the £800,000 paid annually – the rest is essential to maintain the stadium – keeps the club above water. The Scottish FA has options. On Friday board members were delivered a sizeable business study which considers remaining at Hampden versus utilising alternative venues. It is that document which will come under scrutiny on Tuesday. Murrayfield, the home of Scottish rugby, has made a pitch. So, too, have Celtic Park and Ibrox. With Tynecastle, Easter Road and a newly proposed ground in Aberdeen available as smaller stadiums, the question is widely posed as to why Hampden is necessary. It is, though, Scottish football’s administrative base and a location not thought to have anything remotely resembling a high alternative value. “It is a difficult discussion,” says the Scottish FA’s chief executive, Stewart Regan. “We have to Aaron Lynch Youth jersey look at the situation we find ourselves in, which is the lease expires; we have an option to renew on exactly the same terms. We have got to decide whether that is a good option for Scottish football. Is it a good Alex Boone Jersey use of money for another 20 years? “So we commissioned a piece of work. First and foremost we will be looking at that from a financial perspective. Subject to the finances we will have to factor in other things be they political, emotional or social considerations.” For all that complainants tend to make the most noise, there has been rancour in recent years regarding poor views, acoustics and facilities on offer at Hampden, which was last redeveloped to the tune of £59m in 1999. Behind each goal the scene is essentially of shallow terraces with seats bolted on. Those ends could be rebuilt but at a projected £100m+ cost. And yet the epic noise as Leigh Griffiths cracked home free-kicks for Scotland against England last June suggests Hampden can still produce that spine-tingling atmosphere which once contributed to its fame. The Scottish FA’s wholly owned subsidiary, Hampden Park Ltd, runs the stadium. Its managing director, Peter Dallas, understandably backs the “stay” cause. He says: “Our position is to inform the Scottish FA board on the national stadium’s viability beyond the current lease from a factual position, looking at maintenance costs now and in the future as well as other operational considerations in line with all other tenderers in the process. “I believe Hampden Park remains http://www.chargersofficialauthenticstore.com/Dexter-Mccoil-Jersey not only the best option for Scotland’s competitive international home matches and cup semi-finals and finals but the only option.” mlb jerseys usa jerseys chinamlb jerseys cheap nike nfl jerseys china wholesale nfl jerseys cheap

Jürgen Klopp has said Daniel Sturridge is not assured of more game time should he stay at Liverpool for the rest of the season and that he expects a quiet end to the transfer window. Authentic Reebok Men's Thomas Chabot Black New Third Jersey - NHL #72 Ottawa SenatorsLiverpool sold Philippe Coutinho for £142m to Barcelona this month but are not expected to make further signings before Wednesday’s deadline having bolstered their defence with the £75m Virgil van Dijk. “I don’t think a lot will happen in the next few days,” Klopp said on Friday when asked about incomings, although there could be further departures with Internazionale keen on Sturridge and Lazar Markovic a target for Spartak Moscow. Men's Pittsburgh Penguins #3 Olli Maatta Reebok Black Home Authentic Stanley Cup Champions NHL JerseyThe Italian club have offered Liverpool a loan fee and a financial package to cover Sturridge’s wages until the end of the season but the striker favours a move to Sevilla, who have not had a loan proposal accepted by the club. Liverpool maintain the 28-year-old will either join Inter or remain at Anfield but, as the stalemate http://www.officialjaguarsfootballshop.com/YOUTH+MYCHAL+RIVERA+JERSEYcontinues, Klopp has told Sturridge Clayton Fejedelem Jerseyhis first-team prospects may not improve. The England international has started only five games this season and last appeared in the Champions League rout of Spartak on 6 December. “I have never in my life promised a player game time for the next few months – it is not possible,” the Liverpool manager said. “When Daniel is fit, training and in shape he is still an outstanding striker, there is no doubt about that. But he did not play the last few weeks for different reasons. One of them was of course Roberto Firmino’s performances, then Dom Solanke’s development. And Daniel has been in and out http://www.bostonbruinsofficialonline.com/Adidas-David-Backes-Jersey of training [through injury]. In general more in than out of training but the time he was in he was a little unlucky with games. That was the situation, not more.” Klopp was circumspect on the prospect of Sturridge leaving, as he was throughout the Coutinho deal, saying: “When we have something to say about it we will say something, but so far we needed him and we will see what happens in the next few days. I would say wait a little bit.” Liverpool remain interested in the France international Thomas Lemar, albeit not at Monaco’s £90m asking price, and Klopp said he was not looking for a “specific” signing in this window. He added: “Our situation is always the same, we look all year, so why should I stop now only because the 31st is here? “We do that all the time, the only thing is with one or two players is we make a decision on is it for now or is it for the summer? In the end, as the flares billowed red smoke and those on the away terrace hollered their approval into the chill of the Somerset night, Manchester United’s passage into the fifth round proved a saunter. All the anxiety whipped up over the opening half hour, when Yeovil Town had threatened to the beat of the drummer in the crammed Thatcher’s Gold stand, had been forgotten. José Mourinho could look back on his 55th birthday with a sense of satisfaction. Men's Majestic Detroit Tigers #32 Michael Fulmer There was plenty to cheer the Portuguese here. He had surveyed the scene through much of the second period with his arms crossed and feet propped http://www.officialsteelersnflauthentics.com/steelers+donnie+shell+jerseyup on the raised edge of the pitch, content that his team’s lead would not be eroded. There was a clap of hands with his high-profile debutant, Alexis Sánchez, who had set up United’s first two goals after bursts of pace and slipped passes to team-mates and survived the odd hefty challenge meted out on the highest paid player in the English game before retiring 18 minutes from time. Mourinho wondered whether the home side’s centre-half, Nathan Smith, might have been fortunate to escape more than the yellow card flashed for his crunch through the Chilean on the half-hour while the contest was still goalless. “I understand [the referee] Paul Tierney’s decision not to show the red card because this is a special day, and 10 against 11 in that moment of the match and it is ‘game over’,” he said. Sánchez may have departed with a hint of a limp from his first outing as United’s No7, bruised from a brush with League Two, but this was a tantalising first glimpse of his qualities at his new club. The early signs were promising, even if others showcased their qualities just as persuasively. Marcus Rashford, excellent throughout, had capitalised on the first hint of hesitation in Yeovil’s rearguard, exploiting confusion between Tom James and Smith as each waited for the other to shepherd the ball back to Artur Krysiak. The finish was dispatched crisply before either could react for a 10th goal of term, his anticipation a class apart. Yeovil never really came to terms with the pace at which he moved the ball. His interchanges with Sánchez and Juan Mata, in particular, were played out J. D. Martinez Womens Jersey at breakneck speed. Then there was Michael Carrick, on only his second appearance of the season, who oozed the calm authority of a player who was never likely to see the tail-end of his glittering career spoiled by a Cup upset. Once he had found his rhythm, United purred at their core. Angel Gomes, at 17, almost scored with his first touch. Throw in cameos from Jesse Lingard – a player whose involvement may actually be threatened by Sánchez’s arrival – and Romelu Lukaku, dispatching a volley into an unguarded net in stoppage time at the end, and Womens Jordan Berry Jersey there was gloss to this display. Yeovil’s energy had rather fizzled out once the adrenaline subsided and reality kicked in. This was a meeting between the side currently second in the Premier League and a team two points above the cut-off in League Two. If the gulf was bridged in the early stages, it gaped again at the end. Not that the locals could bemoan their team’s display. Yeovil were excellent while the tie was so frantic in the opening half-hour, tearing into their illustrious opponents with gusto almost from their prematch huddle. Jordan Green was a nuisance while Sam Surridge and Francois Zoko, booked inside the first Kevin Bieksa Youth jersey minute for a challenge on Marcos Rojo, snapped remorselessly at United’s rearguard. Had Omar Sowunmi met Jake Gray’s early free-kick with more conviction, or Green not scuffed an attempt straight at Sergio Romero, then the locals may have had their lead. “We caused them problems and gave it everything,” said Darren Way. “We lived the dream for 90 minutes and couldn’t have done any more. I just needed Sánchez in my team.” The Chilean’s class would tell, for all the close attentions afforded him by Yeovil’s defenders. It was his corner from which Mata, on the spin, looped a shot on to the top of the bar, and his sprint down-field after Yeovil’s first corner of the second half just after the hour which culminated in a slipped pass to Ander Herrera at his side. The Spaniard finished crisply beyond Krysiak – excellent earlier in denying Scott McTominay – and United’s lead http://www.seahawksfootballauthentic.com/AMARA-DARBOH-JERSEY-CHEAP.html was doubled. “I thought Sánchez was world-class,” added Way. “As hard http://www.authenticflyersite.com/-26-brian-propp-jersey_c-478.html as we tried to stop their best players, it’s very difficult.” The manager’s consolation was the green light to sign three players on the back of this run to the fourth round, of whom one, Alex Fisher, came off the bench near the end having driven down from Motherwell. Ryan Seager will complete a loan move from Southampton over the weekend, with another to follow. This tie could have far-reaching effects in their battle to avoid relegation from the Football League. For United it was merely another hurdle comfortably vaulted en route to the latter stages.http://forum.himym.cz/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=40804

As a football fan living in the US, I’m amazed at how many games are available on TV these days. On any Saturday or Sunday, I can choose from at least 10 games on my basic cable package. Football fans in the US tend to focus their attentions on the Premier League, which has as much to do with the crispness of its presentation as the action on the pitch. The periphery is perfect: the stadiums are beautiful, modernised and full, and the the fans are present and loud. But, more than anything, the games are so watchable because of the commentary. Men's #2 Nike Limited Brian Hoyer Black NFL Jersey - San Francisco 49ers 2016 Salute to ServiceNBC, who show all 380 Premier League matches live in the US, do not put out the exact same broadcast as the one shown in the UK, but they do employ commentators with British presenters, which lends everything immediacy and authenticity. This is what sets the Premier League apart from the rest of the big European leagues. When we watch games from Spain, Germany, France or Italy, we are watching something in translation. I have followed Italian football intently for more than half of my life – especially during the three years I spent living there – but I increasingly find myself watching Serie A games without the sound as it almost feels like a contaminant. It’s not that the quality of the commentary in English is that bad – it is pretty bad, though – it’s more that the words used just don’t fit the game the way Italian commentary does. Rather than watching a Serie A game, I feel as if I’m listening to somebody else watching the game, Teemu Selanne Jersey with an added layer of detachment. It’s not just that the observations are more astute and the passion is more intense, but the Italian language manages to mesh perfectly with the action it describes. Italians even have their own name for the game: calcio, literally “kick”, preferring not to Latinise the word “football” as the Spanish (fútbol), French (le foot) and Portuguese (futebol) all do. In my very first Italian class, a student asked the teacher why Italians do not just use a simple variation, like in Spain, and the teacher replied, without even the hint of a smile: “Because we are much better at soccer than the Spanish.” Italian football is often criticised for being overly dramatic, with players spending too much time feigning injury, encircling the referee or dropping to the grass with their faces in their hands after they have missed opportunities. These criticisms carry weight but, given the language of the game in Italy, it is hard to see how the game could be any other way. An Italian match is more than just that; it is a performance in which the players are fighting not just to win Drew Stanton Jersey but to win over the audience. In Italian a player does not play a position (posizione), but rather their role (ruolo). Managers often speak in http://www.officialraptorsshop.com/authentic-9-serge-ibaka-jersey.html post-match interviews about how a player has “interpreted their role” or how the team has “interpreted the match” as a whole. The playmaker is called a regista, or “director”, while players who exchange passes are said to dialogare, literally “to dialogue”. A goal is not scored, but rather “authored” (l’autore del gol). A player who is often at the centre of the action becomes the game’s protagonista, with the potential to risolvere la partita, or “resolve the match”. A particularly creative player may also be http://www.authenticseattlemarinersshop.com/Nelson-Cruz-Jersey praised for his fantasia, while a true legend of the game, such as Roberto Baggio, is a maestro. A team’s passing or possession may be referred to as its fraseggio, which means literally its “phrasing”, a term used to describe musical expression. A player’s individual move is a numero, his error or lapse in judgment is a pasticcio, or “pastiche”, while his shot on goal is a conclusione, which, should he miss, is considered fallita, or “failed”, the same word Italians use to describe bankruptcy. A ball is not won from the http://www.officialavalancheonlineshop.com/Red+Lanny+Mcdonald+Jerseyopposing team, but conquistato, or “conquered”, and is not trapped but addomesticato, “domesticated”. A challenge from an opposing player is a contrasto, Mark Barron Jersey or “conflict”; a match-up is a duello; and a penalty-kick is a rigore, or “rigour”. All this drama plays out in front of the pubblico whose cori, or “choruses”, are as likely to be jeering the victorious team as celebrating them depending on the performance itself.http://forum.ironsquad.pl/subdomains/forum/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=668499

We came to Davos for three reasons. The first was http://www.officialhockeyknights.com/Alex-Tuch-Jersey-Adidas to align our project, Common http://www.officialshopknights.com/authentic-adidas-38-tomas-hyka-jersey Goal, behind the United Nations’ sustainable development goals. They are the biggest collective agreement on how to address global development, agreed by stakeholders from almost 200 countries. We Terrell Brandon Jersey wanted to show we stand behind these goals. Men's Game Jared Crick Orange Jersey: Home #93 NFL Denver Broncos NikeSecond, we wanted to take the opportunity of being at the World Economic Forum to have as many conversations as we could. The professional footballers who sign up to Common Goal pledge to give 1% of their salary towards global social development. We wanted to talk to people about how we might work with politicians and business people to develop faster and to make a bigger impact. Third, and just as importantly, we wanted to talk about football. At the World Economic Forum not everyone necessarily understands the power of football. They might not know that the sport can help to achieve all kinds of outcomes relevant to societies. This is something Jürgen has been doing for 15 years. Juan became the first footballer to attend Davos. Our schedule was tight but the visit was beyond our expectations and we used the time as effectively as we could. We conducted a Facebook Live conversation, attended the Global Goals Gathering organised by the Bill & Melinda Gates Kevin Durant Womens Jersey Foundation and had a series of conversations with business and political leaders. These included Bill Gates, Malala Yousafzai and the chief executive of Google, Sundar Pichai. We also spoke with the prime minister of Norway, Erna Solberg. There were two things that struck us about our encounters. First that people are surprised by the honesty of what we are trying to do. Sometimes people can’t believe there’s not a hidden agenda. Second we saw just how easy it is to engage in a deep conversation if you have football as a shared platform. It was a real ice breaker, for example, between Juan and Malala. There would not be a reason to have these conversations if football wasn’t there. People are interested to know what it feels like to win the Champions League but many we spoke to had a personal experience where football played a crucial role. That immediately allowed us to connect with them and form a base of trust, so important if we actually want to walk the walk and achieve our goals. People say that Davos is a talking shop and there is surely some truth in that. On the other hand there is a willingness that often translates to taking action. At the WEF 10% of delegates have a clear social impact agenda. We’re sat on panels, we have access, we have the chance to meet people and opportunities to amplify our influence. We are off to a good start with Common Goal; 40 players have agreed to take the pledge as well as a manager and the head of Uefa. But it is only a start and we have to get a critical mass in order to make real change. We are not expecting immediate results in terms of people committing to support Common Goal but we hope we were able to inspire people and, by shining a light on the industry, promote football as a means for changing the world. http://forum.innjoo.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=191514&extra=

When Leicester City appointed http://www.authenticmapleleafsshops.com/authentic-16-darcy-tucker-jersey.html Claude Puel to replace Craig Shakespeare, the news was met with a little bemusement. He had won the Ligue 1 title at Monaco but that was nearly 20 years ago and he failed to win over Southampton fans last season. Puel’s dismissal, which was welcomed by many supporters on the south coast, now seems more than a touch harsh. Southampton were were narrowly beaten in the League Cup final and finished eighth in the Premier League last season; they are now in the relegation zone, having failed to win any of their last 11 league games. Womens Youth Redskins Jerseys Puel’s single season at Southampton gave him an introduction to the Premier League and Leicester are now reaping the benefits of that experience. When he took the job in October, Leicester were 14th in the league with just two wins in their opening nine league games. They are now seventh in the table, having not lost – or conceded a goal – in any competition this year. Puel was criticised for being too negative at Southampton but his defensive organisation has improved Leicester. When the club won the league in 2015-16, their defence was superb, conceding just 36 goals in 38 games. Neither Claudio Ranieri nor Shakespeare could maintain that solidity. In Ranieri’s ill-fated second season at the club, they shipped 1.7 goals per game, which was only reduced to 1.6 under his replacement. Things are going in the right direction under Puel. Leicester have conceded just 1.2 goals per game in his 15 matches so far. They are now conceding fewer shots (12.9 per game) than they did in the season they won the league (13.6) – a figure that shot up to 15.7 during Shakespeare’s reign. Intriguingly, they are conceding fewer goals while also making fewer tackles and interceptions. They have only made 9.9 interceptions per game this season – less than half what they averaged in 2015-16 (21.6). The players are in less of a hurry to regain possession but they are remaining solid nonetheless. Their 2-0 win over Watford on Saturday was their fifth consecutive clean sheet in all competitions. Some of Leicester’s spending on forwards has been http://www.officialauthenticravenstore.com/womens_brandon_williams_jerseywasteful in recent seasons but they have a knack of recruiting good defensive players. Robert Huth (£3m), Christian Fuchs (free), N’Golo Kanté (£5.5m), Wilfred Ndidi (£15m) and Harry Maguire (£17m) have all been smart acquisitions. Maguire has been key to a newfound willingness to play out from the back – only 17% of Leicester’s passes are long now compared to 20% under the two previous managers – while Vicente Iborra and Adrien Silva have added experience and composure to the midfield. Opposing teams worked out how to play against Leicester and Puel’s predecessors failed to adapt. Shakespeare was understandably keen to return to the tactics that had won them the title, but key players had departed and opponents were wise to their approach. The quality of the football stagnated and the star performers who still in the squad were unable to sparkle. Leicester were in need of a facelift and Puel has duly obliged. They remain a threat on the counterattack but the manager has urged his players to show more patience. Too often they were in a rush to get the ball forward, which put a huge amount of responsibility on Jamie Vardy – who was not given the same quality of service after Kanté and Danny Drinkwater moved to Chelsea. Leicester’s average for possession dropped to a new low of 41.1% before Puel’s arrival. They have never Womens Zane Beadles Jersey dominated possession – they saw just 42.6% of the ball in the season they won the league – but that figure has been decreasing steadily over Authentic Mohamed Sanu Jersey the last few years. Puel has altered their approach, with their share of possession rising drastically to 47.5%. They averaged around 250 passes per game under both Ranieri and Shakespeare, but they now attempt over 300, at an improved (if still modest) 75% accuracy.http://chaoscrew.org/index.php?forum-showposts-12356

Leganés were still on the Bernabéu pitch close to midnight, long Eric Kendricks Authentic Jersey after Real Madrid players and their fans had departed head down and in http://www.footballbroncosofficialshop.com/Authentic-Justin-Simmons-Jersey silence. There were a few hundred of the visiting supporters still in the stadium, joining them in celebration of reaching the Copa del Rey semi-final for the first time in their history – and against the European champions. Zinedine Zidane’s side, already 19 points behind Barcelona in the league, are out of the cup too. Pressure builds and Paris Saint Germain approach: all or nothing http://www.bearsnflofficialproshop.com/kevin-white-jersey-for-sale-c-24.html on Valentine’s Day. Men's Nike New York Giants #92 Michael Strahan Game Royal Blue Team Color NFL Jersey Marco Asensio had scored a last-minute winner at Butarque in the first leg which gave Madrid an advantage that it was difficult to imagine them relinquishing but a 2-1 defeat saw them knocked out on away goals. They were without Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo, Zidane rotating as tends to be the case in the cup, but that was no consolation and no excuse either. Men's Adidas Los Angeles Clippers #10 Brice Johnson Swingman Red Road NBA Jersey It will, though, serve to increase the tension. “It’s a bad night, we didn’t expect it – that’s the truth,” Real Authentic Udonis Haslem Jersey Madrid’s institutional director, Emilio Butragueño, said. Madrid’s players had left the pitch without a word. None stopped for the protocol pitch-side interview. Gabriel Pires, the Leganés midfielder, did. “I laughed, I was happy, you forget everything, I don’t really know what I thought,” he said. Javier Eraso curled in a wonderful opening goal and, although Karim Benzema equalised early in the second half, Pires’s towering header ultimately sent his team through. Leganés’s appropriately named goalkeeper Nereo Champagne described it as a “magical night, historic for us.” “We were not good enough,” Zidane said. “I feel responsible, very responsible. This is a failure – of course. But we’ll continue: there’s nothing else we Authentic Malcom Brown Jersey can do.” This result will damage a manager whose position, despite winning two successive Champions Leagues and the league title, has come under question. It was an amazing result – and yet in a sense, it was not; it was logical, in line with the season so far and Madrid’s cup run. This was Madrid’s sixth cup game; none have been impressive. For the third round in a row they conceded two at home. After a 2-0 win at http://www.minnesotawildofficialonline.com/Adidas-Jonas-Brodin-Jersey second division B side Fuenlabrada, secured with two penalties, they were held 2-2 at the Bernabéu; after a 3-0 win at second division Numancia, when the first two goals were penalties, they were again held 2-2; and now, having performed poorly but won 1-0 at Leganés, they were beaten 2-1. They pushed for the goal that would have sent them through but there was little clarity, little imagination, just crosses swung into the area, and Champagne had to make only two saves. The home side had fewer shots than the visitors. “It hurts, we’re hurt,” said Dani Carvajal, one Real Madrid player who did speak. “We didn’t even get a draw with Leganés at home, so we don’t deserve to go through. Realistically all we have is the Champions League now.” wholesale jerseys china wholesale nfl jerseys nhl hockey jerseys basketball jerseys for sale jerseys china wholesale nba jerseys

Joey Barton, whose football career was in effect ended early by his suspension last year for gambling, now says the ban on players betting is hypocritical given the game’s dependence on gambling sponsorship and that half of all players could be breaching the rule anyway. He sharply made that point at the time of his 18-month ban last April, later reduced to 13 months; pointing out the Football Association, which solemnly imposed the suspension on him, was sponsored by Ladbrokes. Men's Nike New England Patriots #33 Kevin Faulk Limited Olive 2017 Salute to Service NFL JerseyBarton argues the rule, which is aimed at preventing match-fixing, is too absolute, because players like him casually or even addictively gambling on matches are a world away from taking money to throw or fix games. But given huge wages and match-fixing’s existential danger, there will be no moves to relax the rules. The FA and leagues may see Barton’s protest as Authentic Josh McRoberts Jersey a sign the ban is hurting, so it must be working. Yet Barton has a much more urgently valid argument about the relentless marketing, advertising and sponsorship by betting companies. The use of clubs’ kits as billboards and the constant, shouty adverts during the broadcast of football matches and other sports (BT Sport’s coverage of Ashes cricket being a glaring example) has become a constant haranguing http://www.officialjaguarsfootballshop.com/YOUTH+LERENTEE+MCCRAY+JERSEYof supporters to bet, a tendency which, as Barton says, was already “culturally ingrained”. Serial warnings are being sounded against this corporate campaign to convert fans into gamblers but the sports themselves are banking the money and not inclined to care. The Gambling Commission warned last year that British people lost £13bn gambling and that more than two million people had a problem or were at risk of addiction. That is a hideous trauma which can result in people losing relationships, homes and their mental http://www.saintsofficialfootballstore.com/Clay-Harbor-Jersey.html health. Dr Sean Cowlishaw of Bristol university found that one in four men aged 18-24 – the prime target group for the bookies’ marketing – displayed signs of a gambling problem. The risks of excessive gambling were recognised for decades, the bookies Authentic Martavis Bryant Jersey restricted in their marketing, their high street windows frosted up, until the last Labour government ceded to their lobbying and relaxed the rules with the 2005 Gambling Act. In the deluge since then the betting companies, many registered in offshore tax havens, have worked ruthlessly to soak the urge to bet into the very experience of being a supporter. Skybet, the betting division of BSkyB which already makes fortunes from its exclusive buy-up of live TV rights, made that explicit with its endlessly repeated slogan: “It matters more when there is money on it.” That is a highly contestable claim – having a fiver on a game arguably makes it mean less than heartfelt involvement as a supporter – yet the English Football League in effect endorses this emotional manipulation by twinning the very name of its competition with SkyBet. In April 2016, when the FA unveiled its reported £4m per year sponsorship deal, the Ladbrokes chief executive, Jim Mullen, did not attempt to hide his central purpose. Describing football as “the holy grail of sporting sponsorship opportunities,” he said the company wanted to be “at the beating heart of the beautiful game,” and that his aim had been to “ramp up our marketing spend in those places where we know our customers are engaged. Being at the heart of football in this country is precisely what I had in mind.” Two months after its ban on Barton and his accusation of two-facedness, football’s governing body suddenly ended that four-year deal, announcing a policy not to “partner” with betting companies. The FA’s policy, its chairman, Greg Clarke, explained, was based on the need to uphold the rule against players betting, not to prevent the indoctrination of fans. The EFL, though, said brazenly at the time it was “of the firm belief there is no conflict in having a commercial relationship with the gaming industry”. The SkyBet Arian Foster Jerseypartnership will continue, as will the sponsorships of clubs by myriad gambling companies. Barton bitterly pointed out in his BBC interview that the Premier League is also drenched in betting sponsorship and advertising; its clubs, mostly owned by billionaires, feasting on the most lucrative TV deals ever, cannot be said to need the money. cheap jerseys from chinabaseball jerseys for sale cheap nfl jerseys nike mlb jerseys cheap mlb jerseys usa
