Next generation tobacco products like heat-not-burn (HNB) offer a less risky alternative to combustible cigarettes. Making these products more available to smokers would translate into public health gains, according to Helen Redmond, adjunct professor at New York University-Silver School of Social Work.To get more news about Heat not Burn tobacco products, you can visit hitaste official website.

Because the tobacco is not burned, the levels of harmful chemicals produced by HNB products are significantly lower compared to combustible cigarette smoke, according to Redmond. She made the statement before the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorized the marketing of IQOS, the tobacco heating system produced by Philip Morris International, as a modified risk tobacco product (MRTP).

It has been known for decades that tar and carcinogens found in tobacco smoke, causes the death and disease associated with smoking and not nicotine. “The use of nicotine is no threat, because nicotine is not the problem. Combustible tobacco is,” Redmond said. “There is a widespread, mistaken notion that nicotine causes cancer and other health problems. That is false. What causes health problems is lighting tobacco on fire. The combustion releases thousands of toxic chemicals.”

The FDA’s MRTP authorization shows that IQOS is a fundamentally different product than combustible cigarettes, and must be regulated differently. The FDA’s decision is consistent with earlier conclusions of other leading regulatory and scientific bodies, including in the United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands, which have found that the product emits lower levels of harmful toxicants.

“If HNB products appeal to smokers who, for whatever reason, find that vaping — estimated by Public Health England to be 95 percent safer than smoking — isn’t for them, it’s a huge win for public health,” she added.

She said e-cigarettes and HNB devices proved effective in making smokers switch because they offer the same pleasure, rituals and relaxation associated with smoking. A February 2019 clinical trial by UK’s National Institute for Health Research found that e-cigarette was twice as effective as nicotine replacement treatments such as patches and gum at helping smokers quit.

Redmond cited the case of Japan where nearly a third of smokers have already switched to HNBs. “HNB products have been available in Japan since 2014. The result— cigarette sales in the country have plummeted, outstripping anything abstinence-only messages have achieved” she said.

More news following today's report that Activision subsidiary studio Vicarious Visions was being merged under Blizzard Entertainment, as Jason Schreier released an exposé detailing the dismantling of Blizzard's Classic Games division. While there's still no official announcement, the Diablo 2 remaster we reported on last year is all but confirmed, and his article explains how the failures of Warcraft III: Reforged led to Vicarious Visions taking a role in Diablo 2: Resurrected. To get more news about fast wow gold, you can visit lootwowgold official website.
Previously responsible for updating and remastering older games, the Classic Games team created Starcraft: Remastered, Warcraft III: Reforged, and maintained legacy Warcraft and Diablo game servers. Following the scaling back of Heroes of the Storm and announcement that Blizzard would cease major development on Starcraft 2, their maintenance responsibilities appear to have been folded in as well - do note however that the Classic Games Division was not responsible for WoW Classic, which remains in the hands of the World of Warcraft team. Following the release of Warcraft III: Reforged, the team was initially given the task of remaking Diablo II, although Reforged's lukewarm reception led to the project being placed in the hands of the Diablo IV team instead, with Vicarious Visions assisting. In his article, Schreier describes the dismantling of the Classic Games team, although it's not made clear who will take on their remaining responsibilities - for example, we know that Heroes of the Storm is still regularly receiving new heroes and events.
While Schreier attributes the merger as "another example of Activision eroding Blizzard's autonomy", it should be pointed out that Vicarious Visions has an exceptional track record in porting and remastering other developer's games. In their near 30 year history as a developer, they have very few originally developed titles (most of which were for GBA and Nintendo DS), while their most notable works have all been in support of other studios (Bungie/Destiny 2) or remastering previous games (Crash Bandicoot, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater). So while it may seem alarming to some, it would appear that they've picked the very best to help ensure Diablo II: Resurrected does not repeat the same mistakes of Warcraft III: Reforged, and Vicarious Visions' inclusion is a very good sign for the future of Diablo and any other Blizzard franchises they work on.

More than 1300 World of Warcraft players are preparing to depart on a "fresh" Classic experience in anticipation of the upcoming Burning Crusade expansion. To get more news about wow classic gold tbc, you can visit lootwowgold official website.

As reported by Eurogamer, the community project, dubbed The Fresh Crusade, will see players create new characters on a low population server to "reboot" the WoW Classic experience, which has been fraught with botting issues and an inflated economy across multiple realms.

The two issues go hand in hand, with botting leading to real money transactions (RMT), which directly leads to an inflated in-game economy. While the issue persists across all of WoW Classic, it's more prevalent on higher population servers, hence The Fresh Crusade's plans to migrate to a quieter realm.Caszhar, the brainchild behind the project, told Eurogamer "with all of us starting together, the economy will be more of an even playing ground compared to the higher/mid-size population servers."

The event is due to go live on March 5 at 7 pm server time, and will take place on a yet-to-be-determined European realm. Caszhar says on the community Discord that they hope to have enough players to split into both Alliance and Horde. There are already seven guilds getting involved, and Caszhar hopes that they'll hit 2000 players by the time Friday rolls around.

It's a super wholesome idea, one rooted in the desire to make sure new or returning players don't feel left behind by high-level characters or pushed out of the ever-increasing economy. Caszhar said that "the support from people joining has been heart-warming to see," and that "people are really excited to start on Friday."

You can get involved over on The Fresh Crusade's Discord server. The Burning Crusade Classic doesn't have a firm release date yet, but is coming sometime this year, with Blizzard saying the beta will be starting very soon.

Thousands of workers at one of China’s biggest international airports were tested for the coronavirus on Sunday night after a series of new cases were linked to the facility. To get more latest Shanghai news, you can visit shine news official website.
Zhou Junlong, vice-president of the Shanghai Airport Authority, said on Monday that 17,719 workers from the cargo handling section of Shanghai Pudong International Airport were tested for the virus that causes Covid-19.
By noon Monday, 11,544 people had tested negative, with analysis of the remaining samples under way.
“Next, we will carry out nucleic acid tests on frontline cargo workers at high risk,” Zhou said.He also said the high-risk workers would be inoculated with a coronavirus vaccine candidate with their consent. Although none of the coronavirus vaccines developed in China have been approved for general use, the country has inoculated almost 1 million people under an emergency authorisation arrangement.
One is an employee at the UPS international transit centre at Pudong airport who is believed to have infected his wife and three of his colleagues, according to Li Guohua, deputy head of Pudong New Area.
Footage circulating online shows hundreds of cargo workers shoving medical workers in protective suits sent to do the tests.
In one video taken at about 8pm on Sunday, crowds of people gather at a car park apparently waiting for the tests. Another clip shows the medical workers telling the cargo handlers to wait for more news from their employers about the tests.Earlier this month, a man identified only as Wang, who worked in Pudong airport’s cargo handling area, was found to have been infected with the coronavirus. Subsequent tracing found that he was linked to one of his colleagues who also tested positive for the virus. The second man had left Shanghai and returned to his hometown in the eastern province of Anhui.
According to Sun Xiaodong, deputy director of the Shanghai Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, both men were believed to have contracted the virus last month when they cleaned a freight container from North America without wearing masks.
We have confirmed that the two workers were infected with coronaviruses of the same origin. The genes are, to a large extent, similar to those strains found in North America.”
Sun said they had ruled out other transmission paths since neither man had contact with a Covid-19 patient, a suspected case or a so-called silent carrier showing no symptoms. In addition, neither man handled imported cold food.

The U.S. government isn’t prosecuting Charles Lieber because he’s a world-renowned inorganic chemist at Harvard University, says the U.S. attorney who last week drew headlines by charging Lieber with making false statements about his ties to Chinese research institutions. Nor does the Department of Justice (DOJ) think for 1 minute that Lieber is a spy.To get more China breaking news, you can visit shine news official website.

What worries Andrew Lelling, U.S. attorney for the Massachusetts district, is that Lieber was allegedly paid to carry out research in China, which, combined with his failure to disclose those relationships, makes him potentially vulnerable to pressure from the Chinese government to do its bidding at some future point. “It was the amount of money involved that drew our attention,” Lelling says, referring to a 2012 contract included in court documents that indicates Lieber received $50,000 a month in salary and millions of dollars in research support. “That is a corrupting level of money.”

Federal investigators were also alarmed, Lelling says, by how Lieber “brazenly” hid that relationship from Harvard and from the federal agencies that for decades have been funding his research on inorganic nanowires. “When people begin to hide things, that’s when law enforcement authorities get all excited.”

On 31 January, Lelling spoke with ScienceInsider about the nationwide DOJ effort, dubbed the China Initiative, that resulted in the charges against Lieber. Lelling is one of five U.S. attorneys leading the initiative, which began in November 2018 under then–Attorney General Jeff Sessions. The effort, which aims to blunt China’s effort to improperly acquire cutting edge technology, has focused on what DOJ calls “nontraditional collaborators,” and Lelling says the vast majority of cases that prosecutors are examining involve scientists working in the high-tech industry or academia.
Lieber is the highest profile scientist arrested so far. On 28 January, DOJ announced he is one of three people from Boston facing charges related to China. The other two—a junior cancer researcher at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and a former undergraduate student at Boston University (BU)—are both Chinese nationals.

Born and trained in the United States, Lieber is a member of both the U.S. national academies of sciences and medicine. At Harvard since 1991, he has pioneered work on the chemical synthesis of nanowires and their incorporation into devices ranging from transistors to light emitters and sensors. Most recently, his lab developed soft, flexible nanowire nets that could be injected into the brains or retina of animals to unfurl and wrap around neurons, and then eavesdrop on the electrical communication between cells. In 2011, he began a collaboration with Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) in China that is at the center of his alleged violations. (WUT did not respond to requests for comment on its relationship with Lieber.)
