Raspberry Pi Based Wireless FM Microphone
A wireless microphone is a microphone without a physical cable connecting it directly to the sound recording or amplifying equipment with which it is associated. Also known as a radio microphone, it has a small, battery powered radio transmitter in the microphone body, which transmits the audio signal from the microphone by radio waves to a nearby receiver unit, which recovers the audio. The other audio equipment is connected to the receiver unit by cable. Wireless microphones are widely used in the entertainment industry, television broadcasting, and public speaking to allow public speakers, interviewers, performers, and entertainers to move about freely while using a microphone to amplify their voices.
There are many different standards, frequencies and transmission technologies used to replace the microphone's cable connection and make it into a wireless microphone. They can transmit, for example, in radio waves using UHF or VHF frequencies, FM, AM, or various digital modulation schemes. Some low cost (or specialist) models use infrared light. One important thing: Connect a 20 30 cm wire (jumper wire will work fine) to the GPIO PIN 4 (shown in figure above) of your Raspberry Pi to increase the range of your transmitter.
Procedure1.
2. Untar (unzip) the file you downloaded. You can transmit any frequency within FM range just typing the frequency instead of 100.0.
Step 4: Connecting USB Microphone to Raspberry Pi
The Raspberry Pi comes with a 3.5mm analogue stereo audio output, but no input. As a radio amateur I am interested in using the Raspberry Pi as microphone to do this I need an audio input. This can be achieved by connecting a USB audio device to your Raspberry Pi.
Make sure your Raspberry Pi is turned off and insert the USB audio device into one of the USB sockets on the Raspberry Pi, and then power up your Raspberry Pi. The USB audio device should be automatically installed. Go in SSH or LXTerminal window and type the following and press Enter
sudo apt get install alsa utilsYou may already have this package on your system, but entering this command won't do any harm even if you do. This will install a package of ALSA utilities if you don't already have them (ALSA stands for Advances Linux Sound Architecture).
Now, You should make sure that the USB audio device is being detected by both the hardware and software. Enter the following command and press enter. (image 6)
lsusbThis will display information regarding attached USB devices. As you can see, the last device listed in the screenshot (image 6) above is the USB audio device labelled as C Media Electronics, Inc. Audio Adapter.
To start it, simply enter the name in the command line, like so:
alsamixerThis presents a more graphical view (image 8,9,10) of the volume and information regarding the USB audio device. Using the arrow keys on your keyboard, select the volume column and adjust the volume higher or lower, dependent on your needs. Emmanuel Adebayor will not be available for Tottenham's final game against Everton on Sunday or the club's post season tour of Malaysia and Australia after being granted compassionate leave.
The striker, who has only featured three times in the Premier League for Spurs since November, will return to his home country of Togo in an attempt to sort out the family problems which have plagued his season.
Adebayor took to Facebook on Wednesday to claim that his brothers, Kola and Peter, once held a knife to his throat in order to extort money from him during his time at Monaco.

He also revealed that he has contemplated committing suicide 'many times' and that his sister Iyabo would often have to convince him not to kill himself.
It was after a training session with Monaco that Adebayor returned home and woke to find a knife held against him by his two brothers, who had previously arrived at his apartment uninvited.
'I was very tired and decided to go take a nap,' the 31 year old revealed on Wednesday. 'I woke up and a knife was held to my throat. As I opened my eyes, both of my brothers were there.
'They were shouting and they claimed that I was wasting their time. Peter was going mad and Kola was supporting.
'I asked them: "Is this the only way to solve this issue? If yes, then kill me and take the money." It's only at that moment that he put the knife down.'
Adebayor phoned his mother, Alice, before contacting the police, which he later claims was held against him by his family as he was accused of being a 'bad person' for doing so.
The Togo international allowed his brothers to stay because 'blood is thicker than water', but gave Kola an unknown amount of money for his 'own safety'.
Kola apparently blamed Adebayor for Peter's death because the shop he bought for him 'was not good enough', and he would receive texts from his older brother telling him his 'career would be destroyed'.
Adebayor has been excused from training this week and may well have played his last game for Mauricio Pochettino as Tottenham look to offload him during the summer transfer window.
The former Arsenal and Manchester City forward, who has just over a year left on his contract, is being considered by Aston Villa as Tim Sherwood plans for the departure of Christian Benteke.

Cultural Council features local black
Harvey Zipkin's photographs are immediate and evocative. Focusing on everyday life and subjects, he shoots images of the way we live now.
His work is part of an exhibit titled "Monochrome" at the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, 601 Lake Ave., in downtown Lake Worth. His photos are displayed alongside works by other local artists including Delray Beach's Vincent Cacace, Joel Cohen and Korean American artist Misoo Filan.
"I'm really happy to be chosen for the show, because most of my shows are out of town or in Miami. It's great to have some exposure in my own backyard," Zipkin said.
The exhibit encompasses a collection of 53 paintings, photographs, sculpture and a site specific installation.
Zipkin's works include eight photographs, including a train station in Oslo and an ice cream shop in Holland.
"We are so pleased to have artists like Harvey Zipkin included in this exhibition," said Rena Blades, president and CEO of the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County. A member of the Bakehouse Art Complex in Miami, Brooklyn born Zipkin, 72, is influenced by the New York School and his early mentors including Philip Perkis, former chairman of the photography department at Pratt Institute and Burton Berinsky, the official photographer of the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union known for his photos of Robert F. Kennedy.
"I don't shoot individual photographs," Zipkin said. "I create a series of documentary photographs of the way we live in our generation. I try to emulate photographers from the '30s and '40s like Henri Cartier Bresson."
His current project is documenting the changing area of Miami's Wynwood and the copy cartier trinity ring Cuban, Puerto Rican and Haitian communities in the midst of the area's gentrification into an arts district culminates in a series titled, "Wynwood in Color and Black and White."
Other series include: "My Friends and Others," "Coney Island," "Sosua," documenting the lives of the Jews of the Dominican Republic, and another copy ring cartier documenting the neighborhood in New York called Chinatown.
A typical project takes Zipkin between two to four years to complete.
