TAMPA, Fla. Wholesale Youth Celtics Jerseys . -- Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans says he will not continue to protest the election of Donald Trump as president by declining to stand for the national anthem before games. The third-year pro apologized Wednesday to the military and anyone else truly affected by him not joining his teammates in standing on the sideline before last weeks game against the Chicago Bears.Evans stopped short of saying he regretted not standing for the anthem on Salute To Service Day at Raymond James Stadium . He still thinks Trumps election is not good for the country, but instead of protesting he intends to try to impact the plight of minorities in other ways.I know Ive hurt a lot of people by doing what I did. Im sorry to those who are truly affected by what I did, to those who are disappointed in what I did, and to my teammates, Evans said.Evans said Sunday he meant no disrespect to the military, but that he viewed the election of a businessman and reality television star to the nations highest office was not a good look for America. He said reaction from fans and others on social media has been mixed. Its what I expected. Some people were saluting me, some people were showing evil, and a lot of hate, said Evans, whos tied for the NFL lead in touchdown receptions with eight.I just want people to understand that you cant just hate somebody because they have different beliefs and different views than you, Evans said. Thats the problem, thats why I did what I did. Thats what I want people to understand, you cant just wish harm on somebody because they have different beliefs than you. Everyone didnt grow up the same.Evans, 23, grew up in Galveston, Texas. He said he will reach out to different organizations and use my voice to help minorities, including blacks, Latinos, women, the LGBT community and other people that are in fear of Donald Trump and his presidency. The way people grow up, it shapes the way they think and do things. I grew up in a mixed population, white, Hispanic and black, and I feel all people are equal, Evans said, adding that he wasnt surprised by the criticism hes drawn since Sunday. It was the Salute to Service game, and so looking back on it I probably would have done it a different way, Evans said. But its done. It wont happen again. Ill be standing with my teammates. But I will be using my platform to bring (awareness).Quarterback Jameis Winston was among the teammates who said they respected Evans right to protest.Yeah, I talked to him about it and Im definitely on his side. I respect his beliefs. ... Ive got his back, Winston said.Mike is a standup guy, one of the greatest guys on this football team, the quarterback added. What he does on the field, what he does off the field, the type of man that he is, speaks for itself.Evans, who has 59 receptions for 811 yards in nine games, said he hasnt received any backlash in the locker room.My teammates are a bunch of great guys. They understand, they know what type of guy I am, they know Ill do whatever I can do to help them on the field, Evan said. They showed me the utmost respect.---For more NFL coverage: http://www.pro32.ap.org and http://www.twitter.com/AP-NFL Gordon Hayward Jersey . Just not the game. SAN DIEGO -- Kyle Hendricks has another weapon, although its not a pitch. It was on display when the Chicago Cubs beat the San Diego Padres 6-3 to complete a three-game sweep on Wednesday. Its confidence, Cubs manager Joe Maddon said. The biggest thing from last year to this year is the confidence thing. I think he believes he is one of the best right now.Hendricks, the major league ERA leader, pitched six effective innings to pace the Cubs.Maybe he wasnt as sharp as usual, but he was really good, Maddon said.Hendricks (12-7) gave up two runs and four hits, striking out eight and leaving with a 2.19 ERA. He has allowed no more than three earned runs in 17 straight starts.Over that span, Hendricks has pitched to a 1.70 ERA.Today I had some bad at the beginning and some good at the end, he said. I had both ends of the spectrum there. At the beginning my command was a little off. I finally started getting the ball down and found the movement on my two-seamer and started spotting that better. I was on a roll from there.Three Cubs relievers took over for the NL Central leaders, with Aroldis Chapman pitching the ninth for his 29th save in 32 chances.I knew (Hendricks) was going to be really good this year but he has taken it to another level, Maddon said.Willson Contreras homered and Ben Zobrist drove in two runs as the Cubs won for the 22nd time in 27 games. At 81-45, they are 36 games over .500 for the first time since ending the 1945 season at 98-56.That was really loud, Maddon said of Contreras blast. You knew that was a home run when he hitt it. Marcus Morris Jersey. he Padres have dropped nine of their past 12. Paul Clemens (2-3) took the loss.Jorge Soler and Addison Russell also drove in runs for the Cubs as they scored at least three runs for the 23rd consecutive game, second this season only to the Baltimore Orioles (28).Ryan Schimpf tripled and doubled for the Padres. The Cubs started fast when Dexter Fowler led off the game with a double and Kris Bryant nearly launched his third homer of the series. Instead, his drive hit the top of the wall and ended up being a long single.Kris Bryant is a tough hitter, Padres manager Andy Green said. Some guys have lanes you can pitch through, some hitters have small little holes. Kris Bryant has small holes.Zobrist then hit a two-run triple and scored on Solers sacrifice fly.Thats been the story of the last two outings, that first inning, Clemens said. Maybe I just got to wind myself up more in the bullpen.Maddon said jumping ahead was a key.We came out nicely in the first inning and that gave us the edge, he said. And Kyle ran with it from there.UP NEXTCubs: LHP Mike Montgomery (1-1, 2.77) starts Friday in the opener of a three-game series at Dodger Stadium. DETROIT -- Clay Buchholz pitched well enough to give the road-weary Red Sox a chance to win.The Boston bullpen couldnt finish the job.Brad Ziegler walked Andrew Romine with the bases loaded to cap a three-run eighth inning for Detroit, and the Tigers held on for a 4-3 win Thursday, snapping Bostons six-game winning streak. The Red Sox won at Baltimore on Wednesday night, and manager John Farrell said they arrived at their hotel around 4 a.m. Thursday -- about nine hours before the first pitch. David Ortiz and Dustin Pedroia were out of the starting lineup.I thought we brought great energy considering the circumstances coming into this ballgame, Farrell said. We fought hard.Boston played in its fourth city in five days. The team was home at Fenway Park on Sunday, had a makeup game Monday in Cleveland, then went to a two-game series in Baltimore.Buchholz and Detroits Matt Boyd each allowed a run in six innings, leaving the game in the hands of the relievers.I felt good. I went with out of the stretch the whole start, less moving parts for me, just things Ive been working on, Buchholz said. I feel like that keeps me over the rubber a little bit longer and enables me to command a little bit better. The Red Sox scored twice in the eighth to go up 3-1, but the Tigers rallied. Miguel Cabreras run-scoring single made it 3-2 and gave him 1,000 RBI for his Detroit tenure -- and 1,523 overall in a career that started in 2003 with the Marlins.Playing eight, nine years here, it made me proud, because you dont see that too often right now because all the trades, the situation around baseball, Cabrera said. Junichi Tazawa (2-2) failed to retire a batter in the eighth.Sandy Leon homered for Boston.Jarrod Saltalamacchia hit a sacrifice fly for Detroit in the second, and Leon tied it in the fourth with a leadoff homer.Hanley Ramirez hit an RBI single for Boston in the eighth, and Betts scored on a wild pitch.WILD INNINGDetroits first run came after a crucial reversal in the second. Casey McGehee of the Tigers was initially called out when center fielder Jackie Bradley Jr. made a diving attempt on his flyball in right-center. Replays clearly showed that Bradley hadnt caught the ball, and after a review, umpires awarded McGehee first base and put J.D. Martinez on third.Boston third base coach Brian Butterfield was then ejected while Saltalamacchia batted.I think Mr. Butterfield was arguing out on balls and strikes with (plate umpire Scott Barry), and he warned him a couple times and he didnt pay any attention to the warnings, said crew chief Jerry Layne, who was umpiring first. If you do make errors, youre challenged on them.Thats not to say thats what happened but I know in the past Ive been challenged about making errors and it goes part and parcel with our job.I dont think there was anything to it.Dugan has made just two appearances in Dragons colours since round 11 because of an elbow injury and broken jaw.He refused to take aim at Queensland and South Sydney star Greg Inglis, who broke his jaw in a high tackle in State of Origin III, saying he was satisfied with his three-week suspension. BARCELONA, Spain -- Giovani Dos Santos scored the equalizer and set up the late winner in a four-minute span to lead Villarreals 3-2 comeback victory at Almeria on Monday, ensuring the clubs successful return to Spains first division. Authentic Mexico World Cup Jerseys . Promoted Almeria outplayed Villarreal in front of its fans at Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium in the first half, with striker Rodrigo Rios scoring in the 39th minute from a pass from Rafael Ramos. Villarreal levelled in the 65th through Sebastian Dubarbiers own goal, but Rios restored the hosts lead when he controlled Jesus "Suso" Fernandezs cross and fired home to record a double in the 74th. Almeria appeared set to collect the three points until the 83rd, when Javier Aquino passed for fellow Mexico international Dos Santos to tap in and make it 2-2. Dos Santos created the winner three minutes later by dribbling down the right side, cutting back, and passing between two defenders for Jonathan Pereira to send the ball bouncing into the corner of the net. Elsewhere, in the last games of the opening round, Alberto Bueno scored two goals as Rayo Vallecano spoiled Elches first game in Spains topflight in 24 years, and Espanyol came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw at Celta Vigo. Rayo acquired Bueno from Valladolid earlier this month, and the attacking midfielder did his best to help the Madrid-based team forget the several first-choice players it sold this off-season to reduce debt. Bueno shone early with his passing at Vallecas Stadium and scored when Saul Niguez found him running clear down the centre of the area to fire the ball into the net in the 40th. Alberto Perea went on for the injured Jose Carlos Fernandez and doubled the lead with a long-range strike in the 44th, before Bueno also struck from outside the area in the 74th. Rayo coach Paco Jemez applauded the contributions especially of his new players, including Saul, who arrived on loan from Atletico Madrid in the off-season. "The dynamic of the way we work at Rayo makes it so all the new people adapt quickly to the mechanisms of our team," Jemez said. "We need another signing. We are not lacking quality, but we are short on quantity." Espanyol rallied after Denmark midfielder Michael Krohn-Dehli assisted on two goals to give Celta a commanding advantage. Krohn-Dehli brightened an infringement-filled first half in the 42nd by using an audacious flip to scoop the ball over a defender and leave Alex Lopez alone to beat goalkeeper Kiko Casilla. Celta went up 2-0 seconds after halftime when Krohn-Dehli picked out unmarked striker Charles in the area to head his lobbed pass down into the corner of the net. But Espanyol midfielder Victor Sanchez halved the difference in the 53rd with a curled strike from long range, and Javi Lopez met substitute Thievy Bifoumas run with a long pass for the forward to size up the keeper and drive in the 75th-minute equalizer. "The result is fair," said Celtas new coach Luis Enrique, formerly of Roma. "Our opponent also did things to get this result. Their first goal arrived when we were playing our best." Casilla still had to make an acrobatic save to tip Gustavo Cabrals header over the bar to protect the point for Javier Aguirres side. "I fully trust in Kiko," said Aguirre about his goalie. "It was an extraordinary save. I think he can keep growing and carve his name in Spanish football." On Sunday, Barcelona thrashed Levante 7-0 with Lionel Messi scoring twice in the debut of Brazil striker Neymar. Real Madrid edged out Real Betis 2-1, Atletico Madrid beat Sevilla 3-1, and Granada won 2-1 at Osasuna. The Blue Raiders finished the period making just one of 11 shots (9.1 percent) from the floor.Kentuckys second-half defense was stellar, as the Wildcats held Middle Tennessee to five of 23 field goals in the half, and no three-pointers, after the Blue Raiders hit six threes in the first 20 minutes.Kentucky did not hit a three-pointer in a game for the first time since November 27, 2014 when the Wildcats lost to Illinois in the Paradise Jam in the Virgin Islands.Kentucky returns to action on Sunday, facing Arizona State at Rupp Arena. OAKLAND, Calif. Discount 49ers Jerseys . -- Playing in high-profile games is old hat for the Denver Broncos after two trips to the Super Bowl the past three seasons and plenty of other opportunities to play on the NFLs biggest stages. Its a new experience for the Oakland Raiders, who have spent more than a decade at the bottom of the standings and far from the limelight of hyped primetime games. For the first time since 2006, the Raiders (6-2) have an opportunity to play on the NFLs premier Sunday night stage when they host the Broncos (6-2) on Sunday night in an AFC West showdown.I think what we recognize as an organization is as you become relevant, as you play good football, youre going to have more of these opportunities, coach Jack Del Rio said. This is the natural progression in building a good football team. We should expect to be in these games. Were going to expect to win these games. Then were going to move forward and have more of these kinds of games. The game offers an intriguing matchup with Derek Carr and Oaklands high-powered offense that is coming off a record-setting performance in last weeks 30-24 overtime win at Tampa Bay facing Von Miller and the leagues most dominant defense.Adding more juice to the matchup is the fact that these teams are longtime rivals with a history of playing in big games.Weve never liked the Raiders, safety T.J. Ward said. Its always come in the same way, regardless of what their record is. Its just a dislike we have for them. And thats not going to change. Here are some other things to watch this week:LUXURY CARR: In his third season as a pro, Carr has made significant strides and is now considered one of the top quarterbacks in the league . Carr threw for a franchise-record 513 yards last week and joined Y.A. Tittle and Ben Roethlisberger as the only players to throw for at least 500 yards and four touchdowns in a game without an interception. Its still kind of surreal and I dont think it will be real to me until Im done playing and I can kind of look back, Carr said of the accolades.TURN IT OVER: The Broncos are tied for the NFL lead with 16 takeaways this season, leading to a league-high 80 points on the ensuing drives. Denver has won 27 straight games when winning the turnover battle, including last year in Oakland when Chris Harris 74-yard interception return in the fourth quarter turned a possible go-ahead drive for the Raiders into a win for the Broncos.MACK ATTACK: Raiders edge rusher Khalil Mack had his best game ever the previous time he faced the Broncos. Mack had five sacks that game, including one in the end zone against Brock Osweiler that led to a safety in Oaklands 15-12 win . Osweiler is no longer in Denver and the Broncos have two new tackles in Russell Okung and Donald Stephenson. Mack is hitting his stride of late with four sacks the past three games after recording just one the first five weeks. The guys a monster, teammate Bruce Irvin said. He wreaks havoc every week and he has to be accounted for. Its that time of year where hes about to get it rolling. Its really exciting to see.COOP AND CRAB: The Raiders have one of the leagues most dynamic receiving duos in Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree. Cooper is third in the league with 52 catches and 787 yards receiving, while Crabtree is tied for the league lead with six TD catches and ranks fifth with 47 catches. The Broncos counter with the leagues top secondary , led by cornerbacks Aqib Talib, Chris Harris Jr. and Bradley Roby.I feel like they have two good receivers. I dont feel they have two elite receivers, Ward said. So, we have two elite corners. We have three elite corners, and thats their job. So, I think well be all right.CLEAN IT UP: The Raiders are coming off a record-setting performance theyd like to forget. Oakland committed an NFL record 23 penalties last week in Tampa Bay for 200 yards. The Raiders are on pace for 172 penalties this season, which would break the record of 163 the franchise set in 2011.Were not going to dwell on it, Del Rio said. Were not going to spend any more time than is necessary to make the corrections, and then we move on.---AP Pro Football Writer Arnie Stapleton in Englewood, Colorado, contributed to this report---AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and http://twitter.com/AP-NFL Y.A. There are surprises among the Vezina candidates, but most of the others are standard top-tier performers, even if the two Hart Trophy runners-ups have never been quite as good as they have been through the first half of the season. PASADENA, Calif. -- Five years after Utah running back Joe Williams and UCLA quarterback Mike Fafaul left Fork Union Military Academy together, they both posted record-breaking performances on the same wild afternoon.Only Williams left the Rose Bowl happy with his effort -- and his decision to get back in the game with the Utes.Williams rushed for a school-record 332 yards and four touchdowns in his second game back from retirement, and No. 19 Utah held off pass-happy UCLA 52-45 Saturday.Williams broke off TD runs of 3, 43, 64 and 55 yards during the greatest rushing day in Utah (7-1, 4-1 Pac-12) history, surpassing Mike Andersons 1999 record, and the most prolific rushing performance ever by a UCLA opponent.Im pretty sure (the Bruins) are tired of seeing the back of my jersey running down the field, Williams said, giving the credit to his offensive line. Weve got five grown men out there that could be in the NFL tomorrow. Im just glad to be running behind them.Cory Butler-Byrd returned the opening kickoff for a 99-yard touchdown on a day of stunning superlatives for the Utes in their second straight win at the Rose Bowl.Williams quit football last month before returning last week when injuries decimated Utahs depth, and he has 511 yards on the ground in two games since. Its awesome, Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said. Weve had some really good running backs come through here, and played against some inferior teams (compared to UCLA). He broke the record of all-time, and weve had a bunch of guys in the NFL, running backs that have done a lot of great things.Williams broke Andersons Utah record shortly before shredding Edgerrin James record for a Bruins opponent on his fourth scoring run with 10:28 to play. That young man had a world-class day against us, and thats disappointing because weve been playing the run so well, UCLA coach Jim Mora said.Williams didnt get a chance after the game to talk to Fafaul, his former high school teammate in Virginia.Fafaul made his own history, setting UCLA records for pass attempts (70) and completions (40) while throwing forr 464 yards, third most in school annals. Dante Pettis Jersey. UCLA essentially abandoned its awful running game, which began the weekend ranked 126th out of 128 FBS teams. We wanted to do something to help our run game and catch the defense off-guard, Fafaul said. Its not about the records or my performance. I just wanted a victory, and its really disappointing. The former walk-on had five touchdown passes and four interceptions for the Bruins (3-5, 1-4) in their fourth loss in five games.Fafaul was prolific but erratic in his second straight start in place of injured Josh Rosen, who went through warmups but didnt play. Fafaul had the third-biggest passing performance in UCLA history, trailing only 500-yard games by Cade McNown and Drew Olson.THE TAKEAWAYUtah: Williams ran wild on a record afternoon, but the ground game behind a dominant offensive line only lessens the sting for a Utah defense that got beaten for several big plays with poor tackling. Whittingham wont be happy about the Utes inability to limit a backup quarterback and an offense with no running game.UCLA: After struggling to run the ball all season, the Bruins abruptly reverted back to the spread passing offense run by departed offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone. After running the ball just seven times in the first half, the Bruins didnt call another running play until the final snap of the third quarter. Its difficult from the standpoint that (the Utes) kind of know whats coming, Fafaul said.POLL IMPLICATIONSUtah: Injuries and defensive woes cant slow down the Utes, who appear to be Colorados biggest competition for the Pac-12 South title. The Utes should slide up a bit in the polls with a difficult late-season schedule looming.UP NEXTUtah: The Utes return home to host dominant Washington in one of the seasons biggest matchups in the topsy-turvy Pac-12.UCLA: After a bye, the Bruins continue chasing bowl eligibility with a Thursday night trip to suddenly powerful Colorado. My Dad has been telling me about the great racehorse Arkle. Brazil Fred World Cup Jersey . Did he win all his races? asked Simon HarringtonArkle didnt quite win every race he entered, but the famous horse ended up with 27 wins out of 35, a pretty good record for a steeplechaser, especially one who received tough handicaps later in his career.Arkle was foaled in April 1957, and lost his first two outings -- flat races under National Hunt rules -- in Ireland late in 1961, before finally making the winners enclosure in his third race, the Bective Novice Hurdle at Navan in January 1962. Five more runs followed in Ireland -- bringing three wins, a fourth and an unplaced -- before Arkles Cheltenham debut, in the Honeybourne Chase in Nov.1962: starting as favourite, he won by 20 lengths. After another win in Ireland he was back at Cheltenham in Mar. 1963 for the festival, and romped home in the Broadway Chase -- again by 20 lengths. There were four more races in Ireland in 1963: Arkle started as odds-on favourite in all of them, and won all four. But there was a setback at Newbury in the Hennessy Gold Cup in November, when Arkle slipped at the 19th fence and ended up third, behind Mill House and Happy Spring. Mill House -- The Big Horse -- loomed large again in 1964 when, after three more wins in Ireland, Arkle started the Cheltenham Gold Cup for the first time. There were only four entrants, and Arkle beat Mill House by five lengths. At Gowran Park in Oct. 1964 Arkle started at 5-1 on -- and won again, before returning to Newbury and beating Mill House in the Hennessy. A week later he went to Cheltenham for the Massey-Ferguson Gold Cup, and finished a close third behind Flying Wild and Buonanotte. He was soon back to winning ways, finishing first in a handicap at Leopardstown in Feb. 1965, and a fortnight later trounced Mill House by 20 lengths in the Cheltenham Gold Cup. The following month Arkle won the Whitbread Gold Cup at Sandown; later in the year, also at Sandown, he won the Gallaher Gold Cup by 20 lengths -- a warm-up for the Hennessy Gold Cup, three weeks later at Newbury, which he start at 6-1 on and won by 15 lengths. A month later Arkle tackled the King George VI Chase at Kempton Park for the first time: heavily handicapped, he still started at 7-1 on and beat Dormant by a distance. After a close-run win at Leopardstown in Feb. 1966, Arkle returned to Cheltenham and crushed Dormant by 30 lengths to complete a Gold Cup hat-trick. That November, giving away 35 pounds to Stalbridge Colonist in the Hennessy at Newbury, Arkle was pipped by half a length. An easy victory followed at Ascot, and then Arkle lined up for his 35th race, the King George at Kempton Park. Starting at 9-2 on, Arkle led most of the way, but lost out by a length to Dormant in the end. He was very lame after the race, and a broken bone was discovered: despite treatment, it proved to be the end of his stellar career. The only horse since Arkle to complete a hat-trick of Cheltenham Gold Cup victories is Best Mate, from 2002 to 2004. A guy pushed me out of my comfort zone, and I let it get to me. I cant regret anything. It is what it is, bro. At the time it was a flagrant one, now its a flagrant two." Andersen was called for a foul after knocking Pacers forward Tyler Hansbrough to the floor with a blind-side body check. When Hansbrough got up, Andersen shoved him in the chest. Following a replay review, both players were called for technical fouls and Andersen drew the flagrant one. But when league officials took another look, they rescinded Hansbroughs technical and upgraded Andersens flagrant foul to what would have been an ejection had it been called that way on the floor. The body check and shove even had David Stern saying "I dont know what he was doing." Hansbrough is still befuddled, too. "Theres nothing I do differently against this team, I just come out and play my style," he said after the Pacers shootaround. "This one, Im not sure what happened. Its just playoff intensity, I guess." The loss of Andersen could have a major impact Saturday night. Miami won Game 5 thanks in part to Andersens presence inside, which helped the Heat get Indianas dominant inside game under control. Miami leads 3-2 and can clinch a third straight trip to the NBA Finals with a win Saturday in Indy where theyre 1-3 this season. Without Andersen, the Heaat loses one of their more physical players. Brazil Alisson World Cup Jersey. Miami coach Erik Spoelstra told reporters that backup forward Joel Anthony will get some of the minutes usually reserved for Andersen. What else will the Heat be missing? A player who has made his last 17 shots and all 15 in this best-of-seven series. "Id say maybe finishing around the rim," Pacers coach Frank Vogel said when asked about the difference between Anthony and Andersen. "Obviously, anything less than 100 per cent is less than Chris Andersen." Vogel said he also expects Miami to make other adjustments such as using Chris Bosh inside more and giving Udonis Haslem more minutes. Haslem has gone 8 of 9 from the field in each of Miamis last two wins. As for Andersen, Spoelstra said the two discussed the play and the punishment Friday after the ruling was handed down. When asked about details of the discussion, Spoelstra said he was keeping that private. "Weve moved on and anything now is about getting this done tonight," he said. Vogel has his own concern. Team doctors have diagnosed starting forward David West with an upper respiratory infection. West missed Saturday mornings film session and after watching the first portion of the shootaround, Vogel said he sent West home early to get some additional rest. West has had a major role in the Pacers success all season and particularly in this series, in which he has averaged 18.2 points and 8.4 rebounds and if hes not at 100 per cent, it could be problematic as the Pacers attempt to send this series back to Miami for Game 7 on Monday night. "Any time, youve got a guy who is not 100 per cent, its a concern," Vogel said. "But hell get rested this afternoon and hell be ready to go." The Heat wont have that luxury with Andersen -- until next week. "Ill deal with the repercussions of it and miss this game, but I know my guys are going to go out there and take care of it," Andersen said.
