New York, NY (SportsNetwork. Bobby Hebert Saints Jersey .com) - Derek Stepan registered his third career hat trick as the red-hot New York Rangers beat the New Jersey Devils 3-1 at Madison Square Garden. Stepan had a short-handed and power-play goal before sealing the Rangers season-high eighth straight victory by scoring into an empty net with 55 seconds left in the game. Hes been playing well. Hes a real smart and effective player, Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault said about Stepan. I can use him and feel real confident in any situation, whether its five-on-five against top lines, whether its killing, whether its on the power play. Henrik Lundqvist stopped 19-of-20 shots in his 600th career game. Cory Schneider made 25 saves and Steve Bernier scored for the Devils, who played their first game since head coach Peter DeBoer was fired on Friday. New Jersey president and general manager Lou Lamoriello announced before Saturdays game that he will go behind the bench with Adam Oates and Scott Stevens. Oates will handle the forwards and Stevens will oversee the defense. The Devils have dropped three straight and eight of nine overall. Stepan opened the scoring with 1:46 remaining in the first period. The New York forward had a short-handed breakaway after blocking Travis Zajacs pass at his own blue line and backhanded the puck through Schneiders five-hole. Stepan was credited with a power-play goal at 7:38 of the second period. Martin St. Louis fired a one-timer from the top of the right circle that went in off Stepan, who was positioned in front of the net. The Devils got on the board when Eric Gelinas dished to Bernier for a goal at 10:23 of the second. Gelinas nearly tied it on a New Jersey power play before the intermission, but his slap shot went off the post. Milone responded with one of the best outings of his young career. The lefty tossed eight innings of two-hit ball for his first win of the season, and three teammates homered to power the As past the Washington Nationals 8-0 on Friday night. "I think maybe a little bit of a vote of confidence that it wasnt him (sent down)," As manager Bob Melvin said. Brandon Moss homered and had three RBIs, and Yoenis Cespedes and John Jaso each hit a solo shot to back Milones gem. Milone (1-3) struck out seven and walked three, leaving after 108 pitches. Milone said he didnt look at the clubs move to demote Straily instead of him as any kind of boost. Instead, he said he embraced the chance to pitch under pressure. "I think just the energy level, I felt lifted -- just grab the ball, get on the mound and throw it," Milone said. Fernando Rodriguez pitched a scoreless ninth in his first appearance in the majors since October 2012 after rehabbing from elbow ligament replacement surgery. Moss and Cespedes homered on consecutive pitches in the fifth as the AL West-leading As foiled Doug Fisters season debut. Fister (0-1) allowed nine hits and seven runs in 4 1-3 innings. He struck out two and walked none. "Physically, I felt like I was in the right place," Fister said. "I felt strong. It was lack of execution." The biggest trouble Milone faced came in the seventh, when he struck out Danny Espinosa with runners on first and second to end the inning. It was the first time Milone, who made his major league debut for the Nationals in 2011, completed at least seven innings this season. Milones teammates credited his ability to pitch inside and low in the strike zone. "He was awesome. Thats pretty much all I got," Mooss said. Nick Fairley Saints Jersey. . "Weve definitely seen that all before from him." Nationals manager Matt Williams was all smiles before the game with Fister back and his rotation finally at full strength. Washington acquired Fister from Detroit during the off-season for left-handers Robbie Ray and Ian Krol and utility man Steve Lombardozzi. The Nationals entered the spring expecting Fister to help fill out the back end of the rotation. But he dealt with elbow inflammation in March and sat out the start of the season because of a strained back muscle. The native of nearby Merced in Californias Central Valley made his Nationals debut in front of several family members at the Coliseum -- though the free-swinging As hitters never allowed him to feel at home. Fister put himself in a jam in the first by overthrowing first baseman Kevin Frandsen on a grounder by Josh Donaldson, who advanced to third on the play -- one of three errors by the Nationals. Moss followed with an RBI single to give the As a 1-0 lead. "When you give them extra outs, youre asking for trouble," Williams said. Most of Oaklands runs, though, came via the long ball: Jaso hit his second home run of the season in the third, Moss hit his sixth homer in the fifth and Cespedes followed with his seventh homer on the next pitch to put the As up 7-0. It was the first time the As hit back-to-back home runs this season. NOTES: An MRI confirmed As CF Coco Crisp has a strained neck, Melvin said. Crisp, who was injured when he crashed into the wall to make a leaping catch in the opener of Wednesdays doubleheader, is day to day. ... Hand pitched six sharp innings, Jarrod Saltalamacchia drove in two runs and Miami beat the Atlanta Braves 4-0 on Sunday. "We just needed to win a series," Marlins manager Mike Redmond said. "Weve come out strong that first game for whatever reason and to win a series against a great team and a team that weve had really some great battles against all year (is great)." Hand (3-6) gave up five hits and struck out three. Donovan Solano and Marcell Ozuna each drove in a run for the Marlins, who took two of three from Atlanta and won the season series 10-9. Teheran (13-11) allowed four runs and eight hits in 5 1-3 innings. "Teheran is a great pitcher. He doesnt give up very many runs, so we got that one and I just wanted to go out there and keep the lead," Hand said. In a tight race for the second NL wild card, the Braves have lost four of five. Atlanta was shut out for the fourth time in its last eight games. "Teheran just gave up four runs and on most nights hes got a chance to win that game," Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said. Chris Hatcher, Mike Dunn and A.J. Ramos combined to pitch the final three innings for the Marlins. Hand retired his first 11 batters before Freddie Freemans two-out single in the fourth. He calmly pitched out of trouble in the fourth and sixth by retiring Evan Gattis both times. Teheran set down 13 in a row before Garrett Jones doubled in the fifth. Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch expects to see his driving under the influence trial in California come to an end on Friday when he pleads guilty a lesser charge of reckless driving. The plea will be formally entered in court in Oakland, Calif., on Friday. ESPN first reported the plea agreement. Lynch was arrested in July 2012 on investigation of driving under the influence after he was pulled over on a freeway in Oakland. Golde says he believes that Lynch had a strong enough case to win at trial, but said the Seattle running back did not want a public trial considering his high profile with the Seahawks coming off a Super Bowl victory. His second stood up for the winner. Kopitar had two goals and an assist, knocking in the decisive score in the final period, and the Kings rallied to beat the Colorado Avalanche 6-4 on Wednesday night. "Those two quick (goals) at the end of the second were huge and we carried that momentum into the third," Kopitar said. "Its nice to start off the third with a power play." The Kings had the man advantage when Jeff Carter, in the middle of a scramble in front of the net, swung at a loose puck, sending it straight up in the air. When the puck hit the ice, Kopitar got his stick on it and sent it into the net past Jean-Sebastian Giguere at 3:13 of the third. Justin Williams added an empty-net goal with 11 seconds left to cap the scoring as both teams returned to action after the Olympic break. "At the end of the day, we got the two points. It wasnt the easiest two points, but well take it," Kopitar said. Avalanche coach Patrick Roy said for the most part, he liked the way his squad competed in the first game back off the break, despite blowing a two-goal lead. "No one is perfect after two weeks off," Roy said. "But weve been working hard and you dont want to let a game like this affect you, especially because I think there are a lot of positives. I think we need to come back on Friday (against Phoenix) with the same attitude that we had today." Jamie McGinn snapped a 2-2 tie when he scored on the power play at 8:57 of the second period off a centring pass from Ryan OReilly, who scored the Avalanches first goal earlier. It was McGinns 15th goal of the season. Colorado went up 4-2 later in the second on Andre Benoits third goal of the season. "Great play by Kopi, just stick it out there," Kings defenceman Matt Greene said. "When you get down by two, youve got to answer, and we got that pretty quickly." Los Angeles opened the scoring on Robyn Regehers first-period goal and pulled even at 2-all when Jarret Stoll knocked the puck past Giguere 24 seconds into the second period. P.A. At 48-years-old, Lorie Kane has been around enough U. Jim Otto Raiders Jersey .S. Opens that when Thursday rolls around and play gets underway at Sebonack GC in Southampton, N.Y., she wont be surprised. This will be Kanes 12th appearance in the American championship and she knows the course will be difficult and patience will be tested. But as always with the eternal optimist, she cant wait to get started. "My game is good, Im healthy and Ive been working hard," she summed up on Wednesday before heading to the course for one last practice spin. "If I can just clean up a mistake here and there, Ill be happy." After a slow start to the year, Kane has made the cut in four of her last six starts. Shes collected just over $17,000 and is now just shy of $7 million in career earnings. Despite giving away some years to the current crop of youngsters on Tour, Kane is still putting in some impressive stats, being inside the top 60 in both driving accuracy and greens in regulation. Shes hoping that coupled with her U.S. Open experience, it will give her a leg up this week on what appears to be an extremely challenging golf course. "The U.S. Open is not a traditional golf tournament," she stated. "Theres really no par on these holes. You just try to get the ball in the hole in the fewest numbers. "There are some short holes, some long holes and then some really long holes," she added, chuckling to herself after the comment. While she knows that this week is all about patience on a brutal golf course, Kane said that shes also trying to remind herself she can enjoy this experience. "Im looking forward to this, to going out there and having as much fun as I can," she stated. "This is game and we have to keep reminding ourselves about that." As the senior Canadian at the Open, Kane has been keeping an eye out for the other women with the Maple Leaf on their golf bags, but hasnt yet come across them, not unusual during the busy practice round days. She is, however, impressed by all those who are in the field including Brooke Henderson, the 15-year-old phenom who wasnt born when Kane played her first U.S. Open. "I met her last year at the CN Womens Open and shes very impressive," Kane said. "We have a lot of great young players in Canada right now. Its exciting." He remembered pulling on his first Los Angeles Kings jersey and skating out onto the Forum ice, dreaming of hanging his name and number high overhead. From Day One, I wanted to be up there one day, Blake said.A quarter-century later, the bruising defenceman made it.The Kings retired Blakes No. 4 jersey in a warm pregame ceremony, raising a banner honouring the Hockey Hall of Famer who delivered huge hits and scored big goals on their blue line for parts of 14 seasons. The Kings recognized Blake during a ceremony before the defending Stanley Cup champions game against the Anaheim Ducks at Staples Center. Roughly 40 former teammates and family members took the ice to recognize the versatile defenceman who served as Los Angeles captain for six seasons. In my wildest dreams, I didnt think it would feel this good, said Blake, now an assistant general manager for the franchise.Blake is the sixth player whose jersey has been retired by the Kings, a Second Six franchise that joined the NHL in 1967. Los Angeles also has retired the numbers of Marcel Dionne, Rogie Vachon, Dave Taylor, Wayne Gretzky and Luc Robitaille.I knew back then that we would stand here one day, from that first game I played with him, Robitaille said. The honour caused Blake to reflect on hockeys proliferation in Southern California in the past 25 years. The Kings and Ducks have combined to win three Stanley Cup titles in the past eight years, and youth hockey is positively booming in the Southland, sending numerous players to the games highest levels. The Kings recent success is particularly sweet to Blake — and not just because he works for the team again. The way the franchise has gone, believe me, with the team thats on the ice tonight with two Cups in the last three years, youre going to see a lot of those jerseys up there, Blake said.Blake leads the franchise in points, goals and assists by a defenceman, and he won the Kings first Norris Trophy in 1998. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame last year. Not bad for a fourth-round pick from Simcoe, Ontario, who played at Bowling Green with slow-developing dreams of NHL stardom.Blake developed into an elite defenceman in the early 1990s during the Kings best previous run of team successs before the current club, which has won two Stanley Cup titles in the last three years. Bo Jackson Jersey. Current Kings captain Dustin Brown played alongside Blake before the defenceman notoriously left for San Jose for his final two NHL seasons. We feel that youre finally back where you belong, where it all started, as a member of the L.A. Kings family, a visibly emotional Brown said during the ceremony. You taught us what it was to be a pro, and you showed us what it really meant to be a teammate. The Kings reached the 1993 Stanley Cup finals and lost, but Blake treasured the chance to play alongside Gretzky, Taylor and Larry Robinson, his childhood idol.I remember walking into the Forum for the first time and seeing him coming up and introducing himself to me, like, Hi, Im Larry, Blake said. Well, I knew that for the past 15 years. So it was special, for sure. The seven-time NHL All-Star and Olympic gold medallist was a vicious hitter and an opportunistic scorer, leading the Kings through several mediocre seasons. When Staples Center opened in 1999, Blake bought a luxury suite for Kings games and donated the tickets to charities. No person has meant more to me and my career than Rob, and no player benefited more from playing with Rob than me, said Mattias Norstrom, Blakes defence partner and successor as Kings captain. When the white banner was raised, Blake invited Norstrom to stand on his left side — their familiar alignment for all those years on the ice.Blake won the Stanley Cup with Colorado in 2001, highlighting a productive five-year tenure with the Avalanche. Blake returned to the Kings amid much fanfare in 2006, only to leave the struggling club again in 2008 to play his final two seasons with the Sharks. Many Kings fans expressed bitterness about Blakes two departures from Los Angeles, booing him regularly in his returns. But in July 2013, Kings general manager Dean Lombardi hired Blake as a vice-president and assistant GM, bringing him back to the franchise.Blake realizes some Kings fans still havent forgiven him, and thats fine with him.The good thing about fans in general — if youre not wearing their jersey, theyre not going to be happy, Blake said. And thats the way they should be. They back their team and look after it. Im on their team now, but at least Im out of shouting distance. LONDON -- For 2 1/2 hours, Venus Williams traded big serves and hard groundstrokes with Petra Kvitova on Centre Court. Ty Montgomery Youth Jersey . Williams was playing with some of the power and pace that had brought her five Wimbledon titles. But when it was over, she was left with a sense of disappointment. "The battle is always a little more enjoyable when you win," Williams said Friday after coming within two points of victory but losing 5-7, 7-6 (2), 7-5 to Kvitova, the 2011 champion. All four of their previous meetings went to three sets and this one was no different, with plenty of suspense, intensity, and only a few break points. Williams looked stronger early in the match and was up 5-4, 15-30 on Kvitovas serve, in the second set. But the Czech came up with some big serves, held and won the second set tiebreaker. The players then held serve for the first 11 games of the third set before Kvitova broke No. 30 Williams for the first time in the last game. "Its a shame there had to be a loser in this match and more of a shame that it had to be me," Williams said. Despite the loss, Williams had reasons to feel positive about her week in London. At the age of 34, she has been playing well this season, winning a title in Dubai and reaching the final in Auckland and Miami. This week, she got to the third round at a Grand Slam tournament for only the second time in her past 10 appearances. After her battle with Kvitova, she reiterated that retirement is not in her plans. More than that, Williams still believes in her ability to add to her total of seven Grand Slams. "People have been trying to retire me since I was like 25. For some reason in tennis we always do that to our players. Its weird," said Williams, who disclosed three years ago that she was diagnosed with an energy-sapping autoimmune disease. "We dont encourage them to stick around," she added. "Its like, Get out of here. So Im not getting out of here. I think this year has been a great year for me. Ive had some tough losses, but Ive learned a lot from them. Im finding my way back on my feet. Im proud of myself for what Im achieving on the court." The former No. 1 is next scheduled to play in Cincinnati and Montreal. UNIONDALE, N. Tony Gonzalez Jersey .Y. -- The Detroit Red Wings had just enough time to salvage a point. They still havent figured out how to make the most of overtime. Pavel Datsyuk, in his 800th NHL game, scored his second goal of the night with 42.5 seconds left in regulation, but the Red Wings couldnt turn it into a win as they were beaten 5-4 by the New York Islanders in a shootout on Saturday night. The Red Wings have lost six straight overall, five in a row in extra time, and three consecutive in shootouts -- including two on back-to-back nights. "If we hadnt gone through the last five, six games, this point would be pretty good," forward Henrik Zetterberg said. "Right now its tough. We cant find a way to win a game. I think we battled hard. It was a back-to-back game and we found a way to come back at the end. "Overall, I think its a good point, but we were right there to get two points." The Red Wings arrived in New York around 2 a.m. Saturday after losing at home to Washington on Friday. Detroit is 1-7 after regulation this season, 0-4 in shootouts. "We found a way to get a point," Red Wings coach Mike Babcock said. "We obviously have to get better. We will get better. Its pretty obvious weve got to win in regulation because the shootout is killing us. "Its like anything in life, it gets in your head a little bit. To me weve got to be hard-headed and mentally tough. The standings could be a lot different for us if we won all these games, especially these shootouts." Kevin Poulin was the difference for the Islanders after he replaced the injured Evgeni Nabokov in the first period. Neither team could hold the lead until he finally shut the door in the tiebreaker, denying Henrik Zetterberg, Datsyuk and Todd Bertuzzi. "I love this," Poulin said. "I was not nervous in the shootout, was pretty excited actually. I felt comfortable. You have to be ready to jump in. Thats why I play hockey." Frans Nielsen scored the only shootout goal for the Islanders, who had dropped five of six. "Kevin really stepped up for us," Islanders captain John Tavares said. "We kept calm and it paid off in the end." Cal Clutterbuck had given the Islanders a 4-3 lead when he had the second deflection of Aaron Ness shot from the left point past Gustavsson 4:43 into the third for his second goal. The Islanders are 6-0-1 against Detroit in the past seven meetings and havent been beaten by the Red Wings in regulation since November 2003. New York outshot Detroit 15-4 in the third period and 6-1 in overtime. Tavares had a goal and assist to stretch his point and assist streaks to five games. Casey Cizikas and Brock Nelson both scored tying goals in the second period for the Islanders. Poulin made 19 saves in relief of Nabokov, who injured a groin. Darren Helm and Johan Franzen had the other goals for the Red Wings, and Gustavsson stopped 37 shots through overtime in his first outing in place of Jimmy Howard since Oct. 23. Both teams were held at bay throughout most of the second period, but then combined for three goals in a span of 1:20 in the final three minutes of the frame. The Islanders got even 2-2 when the Red Wings poorly played a rush into their zone. Matt Martin carried the puck deep and fanned on a shot, but Colin McDonald got his stick on the puck and put it on Gustavsson. Cizikas got to that rebound and scored his second of the season and second in two games with 2:10 remaining. But for the second time, Islanders fans barely had a chance to celebrate before the Red Wings responded. Helm brought the puck into the New York zone and fed a pass to Franzen on the left wing. Franzen glided from the circle into the middle of the ice and snapped a drive past Poulin just 33 seconds later. This time it was the Islanders turn to answer quickly, and they did it 20 seconds into Luke Glendenings tripping penalty. Nelson scored with a second poke with 49.5 seconds remaining. The Red Wings wiped out their early 1-0 deficit just nine seconds after they fell behind, and knocked out Nabokov in the process. Helm won a faceoff against Tavares, right after the Islanders captain put New York in front at 4:03 with his ninth goal. The Red Wings controlled the puck in their zone until defenceman Jonathan Ericsson found Helm with a long lead pass that led to a breakaway. Helm came in on Nabokov, made a move that caused the goalie to do a split, and scored his second of the season at 4:12 to tie it 1-1. The 38-year-old Nabokov was playing for the first time in four games and the second in six. He was assisted by a trainer in the crease before getting up on his skates and gingerly skating while hunched over to the tunnel leading to the dressing room. Nabokov came into Saturday with a 5-5-3 record and 3.24 goals-against average. "He means a lot to this team, all of us," Tavares said. "Not everyone knows how much he does for us in this room. Hes important." Datsyuk made it 2-1 with 1:42 left in the first period, scoring a power-play goal with Bertuzzi screening Poulin in front. The Toronto Maple Leafs are now the only team Datsyuk hasnt scored a goal against. NOTES: The Red Wings recalled Glendening from Grand Rapids (AHL) to fill in for forward Daniel Alfredsson, who missed his second straight game because of a groin injury. ... The Buffalo Sabres liked Matt Moulson so much, after he played 44 games for them last season, that they brought him back as a prize free agent this summer. Nick Perry Womens Jersey . Numbers Game looks at the Sabres bringing in a veteran winger to help their rebuilding plan. The Sabres Get: LW Matt Moulson. Moulson is a 30-year-old winger who was a three-time 30-goal scorer while skating on John Tavares wing, yet there are signs of decline creeping in. While he scored 23 goals and 51 points in 75 games last season, Moulsons shots on goal per game was down to 2.35, after a career-best 3.28 shots on goal per game in 2012-2013. He had three points in 10 playoff games before oblique and groin injuries knocked him out of the lineup. Over the course of his career, Moulson has been a mediocre possession player, which has generally meant good relative numbers while playing for bad teams, Going back to Buffalo, where he had 11 goals and 29 points in 44 games last season, Moulson should be looking at prime ice time, playing first line and power play, because hes one of the few on the roster that has been a consistent goal-scorer in the NHL. Given the supporting cast, it will be tough for Moulson to get back to the 30-goal level that was becoming customary with the Islanders, but the Sabres scored a league-low 1.83 goals per game last season, so any offensive contribution will be welcomed. Theres also a decent chance that, by the end of this five-year, $25-million deal, the Sabres wont be thrilled about the production they are getting from Moulson, as his goal-scoring production is likely to decline as he heads towards his mid-thirties, but whats the real downside? The Sabres are probably a bad team for at least a couple more years and if the supporting cast gets better, as it should, then maybe Moulson can still produce secondary offence as the Sabres eventually become more competitive. In the short-term, the next couple of seasons, if Moulson could hit for 25 goals and 50 points per season, then that would have to be considered very successful. The Wild made up for the loss of Moulson by signing free agent Thomas Vanek who, coincidentally enough, was traded for Moulson last season. Gallacher equaled the European Tour record for the lowest nine-hole score with an inward 28 for a 9-under 63. That gave him a 16-under total of 200, with McIlroy in second after 69. Tiger Woods was 11 shots back after a 70. "This is the best back nine Ive had in my career by far," said Gallacher, who started the day four shots behind McIlroy. "So to get myself back into contention when I needed to, and given the stature of this tournament, it feels good." Gallacher started with seven straight pars before a bogey on the eighth. But he birdied the next four holes before an eagle on the par-5 13th, where he hit a 7-iron to within three inches with his second shot. After another par on the next hole, he finished with four straight birdies. "I struggled at the start and played the first four holes a bit ropey," the Scot said. "But I then hit a beautiful drive and 7-iron (at the ninth) to about 3 foot, and from then on I never missed a shot." The Desert Classic is celebrating its 25th anniversary, and Gallacher now has a chance to become the first person to win back-to-back titles at the event. Davante Adams Jersey. McIlroy earned his first European Tour victory here in 2009 and is still very much in the hunt despite battling food poisoning during the second round on Friday. McIlroy, who had his lowest score in three years with a 63 in the opening round, mixed three birdies and an eagle with two bogeys on Saturday. "My stomach is better today, still not 100 per cent but its better than it was yesterday," McIlroy said. "I feel like I can catch him (Gallacher) up tomorrow. I dont really want to focus on what hes doing -- try to focus on my own thing." Woods, who won here in 2006 and 2008, failed to get back in contention after a disappointing day on the greens. The top-ranked American had two bogeys and four birdies but missed a number of opportunities to pull closer. "I only hit a couple of bad shots, (but) missed a ton of putts," said Woods, who was in a tie for 37th. "Really hit it good but just threw away a lot of shots." Thorbjoern Olesen of Denmark shot a 65 to sit tied for third with Brooks Koepka of the United States, another two shots behind Gallacher. Race to Dubai winner Henrik Stenson fell out of contention with a 75 that included two double bogeys and left him 12 shots back. San Antonio, TX (SportsNetwork. Ezekiel Elliott Jersey .com) - A couple of nationally-ranked teams trying to bounce back from defeat in their last outings get together in the Alamo Bowl, as the 11th-ranked Kansas State Wildcats battle the 14th-ranked UCLA Bruins on Friday. The Bruins opened the 2014 campaign with four straight wins before hosting Utah and Oregon in early October and bowing to both Pac-12 Conference foes. However, UCLA rebounded by stringing together five consecutive victories in league play, but ended up falling to Stanford in the regular-season finale, 31-10. UCLA wound up in a three-way tie for second place in the South Division of the Pac-12 at 6-3. It is an honor to be a participant in the Valero Alamo Bowl, said UCLA head football coach Jim Mora. Our players know that when you play in a bowl of this magnitude, the nation is watching. When you consider that the Valero Alamo Bowl has produced a number of the most-watched Non-BCS Bowl Games in its broadcast partners history, we cant wait to get on the field at the Alamodome, compete every down against a tremendous Kansas State team and fight for our second consecutive 10-win season. As for the Wildcats, they too had a strong start to the campaign with seven wins in the first eight outings, the lone setback being a 20-14 decision against Auburn in the middle of September. However, there were a couple of stumbling blocks down the stretch as the program bowed to both TCU (41-20) and Baylor (38-27), although both opponents were nationally-ranked at the time. With the two defeats in the last four games, KSU was left with a 7-2 mark against the rest of the Big 12 Conference. Kansas State does not have an extensive history in the postseason as the team enters its 18th bowl contest. The squad is 7-10 in such efforts dating back to a 14-3 loss to Wisconsin in the 1982 Independence Bowl. Last season, the program managed to halt a five-game slide with a 31-14 triumph over Michigan in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl. The bowl history for the Bruins reaches back to a 9-0 loss to Georgia in the 1943 Rose Bowl. Since winning eight straight bowls between 1983-1991, UCLA has been unable to register back-to-back bowl victories in the last 15 appearances, although the team will have a chance to make it happen this time around after having defeated Virginia Tech, 42-12, in last years Sun Bowl. Overall, the Bruins have a record of 15-17-1 in bowl games. The teams have split two previous meetings, the most recent coming in 2010 when Kansas State opened the campaign with a 31-22 home victory over the Bruins. Kansas State leaned quite a bit on quarterback Jake Waters this season, as he completed 66.2 percent of his passes for 3,163 yards and 20 touchdowns against only six interceptions. His efficiency rating was 157.8 and thanks to the contributions of Joe Hubener in his six limited appearances, the Wildcats rank eighth in the nation in pass efficiency (158.67). Tyler Lockett blazed a trail through opposing defenses with his 93 catches for 1,351 yards and nine touchdowns. Lockett, the first player in school history to earn All-America recognition in all four years, is also a two-time winner of the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year award as he averaged 19.0 per punt return and 21.2 yards per kickoff return this season. Lockett ended up as one of the nations leaders in all-purpose yards in 2014 with 2,047 (170.6 ypg). Other credible offensive threats for Kansas State are running backs Charles Jones and Waters, who combined to produce just under 1,000 yards and a total of 21 TDs on the ground. From a defensive standpoint, the Wildcats ranked 26th in the country in points allowed (21.8 ppg), and the red zone defense was 28th as it limited opponents to only 77.1 percent success. Jonathan Truman topped the tackles list with an impressive 114 stops, his 74 solo tackles alone being enough to pace the program. However, Truman was short on impact plays as he failed to record a single stop behind the line of scrimmage and had only one fumble recovery. Among the top eight tacklers on the roster, there were just two sacks, far short of the 5.5 sacks logged by Ryan Mueller who had just 33 total stops to his credit. Then again, Dante Barnett (73 tackles) and Randall Evans (61) did handle the pass defense rather well with a combined seven interceptions and 24 passes defended. Going up against the KSU defense will be the highly-touted Brett Hundley for the Bruins. Listed as probable for the contest with a finger injury, there is little doubt that Hundley will have a say in the outcome of this meeting after completing a sizzling 70.4 percent of his pass attempts for 3,019 yards and 21 touchdowns, against only five interceptions. His efficiency alone (155.4) compared favorably to the Wildcats as a whole. More than just a passer Hundley, who was named a finalist for the Manning Award, also made himself into a threat with his legs as he finished second on the team with 548 yards on 148 attempts, culminating in a team-best eight touchdowns. Paul Perkins, a starter in 10 games at running back, took most of the beating on the ground with his 1,381 yards, averaging 6.0 ypc as he reached the end zone seven times. As for options down the field, Hundleys favorite targets are Jordan Payton and Devin Fuller, the former catching 63 balls for 896 yards and seven touchdowns, while the latter turned his 57 grabs into a modest 428 yards and a single score. Thomas Duarte was a significant contributor with 27 receptions for 521 yards and four touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, the Bruins were rather mediocre from a statistical standpoint. The unit was 68th in the nation in yards allowed (401.0 ypg) and 74th in points surrendered (27.5 ppg), and yet Eric Kendricks still played the game with reckless abandon. The 2014 Butkus Award winner and the recipient of the Lott IMPACT Trophy, Kendricks averaged close to 12 tackles per game, notched 8.5 TFL, two sacks and three interceptions on his way to being named an All-American. Also having an impact for the UCLA defense were Owa Odighizuwa with 9.5 TFL and five sacks, as well as Deon Hollins who needed just 27 total takedowns to reach seven TFL and a team-best six sacks. Their defense is very good - the safeties and the corners, KSUs Lockett said of his competition. They are physical and they are really good at high pointing the ball as well. We have to work on high pointing the ball and not waiting for the ball to come to us. We just have to be able to beat them in and out of our routes. Larry Allen Cowboys Jersey . Henrik Lundqvist did all he could to keep the Cup from seeing the light of day on Wednesday night, stopping nearly every piece of rubber flung his way in a do-or-die tilt for the Rangers at MSG. Vowing to raise the level of his performance just a day earlier, Lundqvist did that and more, turning aside 40 of 41 shots in a 2-1 Game 4 win. “It was pretty self-explanatory out there,” said Dan Girardi. “He was the King tonight for us, making huge saves when he had to.” Girardis unfortunate broken stick catapulted the Kings to their only goal on Lundqvist, a breakaway marker from Dustin Brown midway through the middle period. It was from that point on that the 32-year-old simply took over, preserving the Rangers one-goal lead amidst an avalanche of incredible pressure from an L.A. squad intent on capturing the Cup for the second time in three years. New York was outshot 15-1 in the final period and an unimaginable 26-3 over the final 31-plus minutes of regulation, completely dominated by the Cup-hungry Kings. Lundqvist turned every shot aside though, rising to every challenge his rivals could muster. “Goaltender was real good,” said head coach Alain Vigneault with a smile, asked how the Rangers managed to preserve a 2-0 lead after failing to do so in Games 1 and 2. “He had to make some huge saves in the second and the third. He got and we got a few bounces. You need those. Maybe the luck is changing a little bit.” Believing the breaks had been against them in the opening three games, the Rangers saw that luck turn in their favour in remarkable fashion on this night. On not one, but two occasions did a puck sneak through the pads of Lundqvist and land squarely on the goal-line, kept at bay by morsels of snow before a Ranger could calmly swat it away – first Anton Stralman midway through the first frame and later Derek Stepan in the dying moments of regulation. “Dont fool yourself either,” said Stepan. “Hank stood on his head. He made some big saves at big times for us. Those are the big plays we need at certain moments to keep the momentum or shift the momentum. Roger Staubach Womens Jersey. Hank stood tall and hes a big part of why were going back to L.A.” Lundqvist and the Rangers are now 11-2 in their last 13 games when facing elimination, the King entering the night with a .957 save percentage in such situations. “When everything is on the line, you just have to challenge yourself the right way, I guess, as a team and personally,” said Lundqvist, who allowed 11 goals in the first three games against the Kings. “You have to go out there and leave everything out there and be extremely focused. One mistake and the season is over. Youre definitely aware of that. When you go out to these types of games where you know everything can be over after this period or after the next two periods.” Despite relentless waves of pressure over the final period and a half the Kings believed they could do more to disrupt the Rangers Vezina Trophy-winning goaltender. “I think we can do a better job getting to him,” said Anze Kopitar, one of only three Kings without a shot on goal. “I think [there were] a couple of times where we didnt make it tough on him. The pucks were sitting there. But the pucks hes gonna see, hes gonna stop. Thats just how it is.” Despite owning the back half of Wednesdays game, L.A. is now forced to make the long flight back west in hopes of procuring the Cup on home ice. It was two years earlier in the 2012 Final that they raced out to a 3-0 series lead only to drop Games 4 and 5 to the Devils before finally emerging with the first Cup in franchise history at Staples Center in Game 6. “Were going back home, thats where we won it last time, hopefully we can do the same thing again,” said Drew Doughty. The Rangers, meanwhile, were searching for just one win, viewing Game 4 as a best-of-one they had no choice but to capture. Rallying from a 3-1 deficit in the second round against the Penguins, their focus now shifts to bringing the series back to the Garden for Game 6 and hopefully beyond. “Well, we went into this game with the approach that we wanted to win at home in front of our fans,” said Lundqvist. “That was our approach. We got that accomplished. Now were looking for the next game.” Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys ' ' '

MONTREAL -- Charles Hamelin took another step toward the overall world championship title, but the bad luck goes on for Canadas relay team. Hamelin overcame a weak start to win bronze in the 500-metre race behind winner Wu Dajing of China and American J.R. Celski on Saturday at the world short track speed skating championship. The Ste-Julie, Que., skater cut to the outside in a desperate bid for the win and came close to catching Celski at the finish line with the large crowd at the Maruice Richard Arena in a frenzy. "The four guys in that final were the four best 500-metre skaters in the world, so it was tough," said Hamelin, who was coming off a win in the 1,500-metre event on Friday. "I made a little mistake at the beginning. "I got passed by the Russian (Victor An) and was back in fourth place. I had a lot of speed. I went outside. It was my last option. I tried my best and was almost second." The 29-year-old, who has twice been runner-up for the overall title but never won it, leads the standings heading into the final two individual events -- the 1,000 and 3,000 metres -- on Sunday. An, a five-time overall world champion formerly known as Ahn Hyun-Soo, finished fourth. Park Seung-Hi of South Korea won the womens 500-metres ahead of Elise Christie of Britain and Fan Kexin of China. Disaster struck for the Canadian team in the mens relay semifinals when veteran Olivier Jean got caught in traffic and missed an exchange with Hamelin with only eight laps to go. The mishap dropped Canada from second to last place among the four teams and they couldnt catch up. Only the top two, Russia and Britain, earned a spot in Sundays relay final. "We got passed by the Chinese guy on the corner where we exchanged and it got mixed up.," said Michael Gilday of Yellowknife. "We didnt get our exchange in until a lap later and the other teams had already launched away. "Olivier was supposed to exchange with Charles on the corner where he got pushed out. There were a bunch of skaters and they couldnt tag together. It was a mess." At the Sochi Olympics three weeks ago, Canadas favoured relay team was eliminated in the semifinals when Francois Hamelin stepped on a marker disc and fell. "Thats short track," said Gilday. "It sucks. Clearly we havent had the breaks this year." Souuth Korea and the Netherlands will also contest the mens relay final. Packers Hats. Canada will have a team in the womens final. Jean opted not to talk to the media. The Lachanie, Que. skater, who was celebrating his 30th birthday, had been eliminated in the 500-metre quarter-finals along with Charle Cournoyer of Boucherville, Que., the bronze medallist in the event in Sochi. Marianne St-Gelais of St. Felicien, Que., and Marie-Eve Drolet of Laterriere, Que., were both ousted in the womens semifinals. "Im pretty happy, actually, because its not my best distance," said Drolet, who will have a better shot at a medal in the 1,000-metre race. "Im not a great sprinter, so it was super-fun to see that I could be fast and do a good race." St-Gelais said she may have psyched herself out before her semifinal because of an outside starting position. "I think I got scared at the (starting) line," she said. "I was thinking I would be squished behind two girls. Usually I dont think about those kinds of things, but that idea crossed my mind just before the start. I knew my race was done at that point." It was a happier day for Christie, who was shut out of the medals in Sochi after being penalized three times. The Scottish skater shot out to the lead off the start, only to be passed on the next-to-last lap by Park. It looked like the two might collide, but Christie said she backed off of any contact. "I probably could have won, but in the back of my head I was thinking about the fact that I got penalties, so when Park came through I let her go," said Christie. "I didnt try to get past because I just didnt want to get another penalty, to be honest." Christie came to the world championship seeking to redeem the Sochi setback and now is looking forward to her best event, the 1,000-metres. "It is my beat distance, but again, Ill be racing quite withdrawn," she said. "Im trying to stay out of fights and stuff, so that could play to my disadvantage. But maybe now that Ive got a medal, I might just go for it." Park won bronze in the 1,500-metres on Friday.
