The young right-hander has never faced the Blue Jays and is 0-1 in two starts at home. Kansas City had a six-run eighth inning thanks to a two-run double by Salvador Perez and a two-run single from Omar Infante. Jarrod Dyson and Norichika Aoki provided RBI hits in the big inning for the Royals, who have won two straight and three of four games. "We never give up. Thats the motto in here is to never give up and to always play like were in it," Dyson said. Perez also homered and finished with four RBI. Aaron Crow threw a scoreless eighth inning for the win and Jason Vargas was bailed out for the no-decision after he permitted five runs and 10 hits in 6 1/3 innings. THE FORMATIONS: The New York Red Bulls showed up in Vancouver without some of their key players - Thierry Henry and Jamison Olave, to be specific. Nashville Predators Jersey . Head coach Mike Petke chose to line up his team in a 1-4-4-2 formation, with Peguy Luyindula partnering Tim Cahill up front. The Red Bulls played a flat four across midfield, with Lloyd Sam on the right, Jonny Steele on the left, and Eric Alexander partnering Dax McCarty in the middle. This decision proved to be a fatal one for New York, as Vancouver dominated the game in midfield, especially in the second half. At the back, two former Toronto FC players were in the fullback positions for the Red Bulls - Rickard Eckersley on the right and Bobby Convey on the left. Ibrahim Sekagya and Armando defended centrally, with Luis Robles in goal. The Vancouver Whitecaps lined up in a 1-4-2-3-1 formation, in Carl Robinsons first game as a head coach. Darren Mattocks led the line, with Sebastian Fernandez, Kenny Miller and Russell Teibert lining up from left to right in the attacking midfield three. The impressive Matias Laba partnered Nigel Reo-Coker as defensive midfielders. At the back, Steven Beitashour and Jordan Harvey flanked Jay DeMerit and Andy OBrien, with David Ousted in goal. THE GAME: The Vancouver Whitecaps got the 2014 MLS season off to the perfect start, claiming a 4-1 victory over the New York Red Bulls at BC Place on Saturday. The game started slowly for Vancouver, which can be put down to it being the first game of the new season under a new coach. Players are always a little tense when the season kicks off, and it can take some time to get into the flow of the game - especially when playing alongside new teammates. Once Vancouver settled into the game, though, the midfield partnership of Matias Laba and Nigel Reo-Coker began to dictate the game. Laba showed all of the qualities that tempted Robinson to bring him to the club via a trade with Toronto FC; he broke up countless Red Bull attacks, was composed on the ball and precise in his distribution. The defensive solidity of the two midfielders meant that it was a reasonably comfortable game for the back four. In fact, had it not been for a mistake from David Ousted, the Whitecaps would have kept a clean sheet. The first goal came in the 34th minute, as Kenny Miller converted a penalty kick after Richard Eckersley was adjudged to have handled a Matias Laba strike inside the penalty area. The referee initially waved play on, but his assistant spotted the infraction and raised his flag immediately; replays showed that it was the correct call. The second Whitecaps goal came five minutes into the second half. Some excellent link play from Darren Mattocks allowed Vancouver to catch New York on the counter attack. Mattocks received a clearance just inside Vancouvers half, set the ball back and spun left to get behind the Red Bulls back four. When he received the return pass, he fed the ball to Sebastian Fernandez - who had made a fantastic run to join the counter attack. Fernandez dropped his shoulder to wrong-foot Richard Eckersley, and once the Uruguayan had a half a yard of space, he unleashed an unstoppable strike into the top right corner. It gave the Whitecaps some breathing room, which they used to tear apart New York. When Pedro Morales entered the game in the 64th minute, he delivered a mouth-watering performance over the final 25 minutes. It was a master class from the Chilean designated player, and it left Whitecaps fans craving more. Morales set up Vancouvers third goal with some exquisite control and a perfectly weighted through-ball to spring Kenny Miller (who clinically dispatched his second goal of the game), and then scored the Whitecaps fourth, firing home a centering pass from Reo-Coker. When substitute Bradley Wright-Phillips flicked home a cross just in front of the fingertips of Ousted in the 90th minute, it took the shine off of an otherwise impressive Vancouver performance. THE TURNING POINT: Sebastian Fernandez put in an outstanding performance on his debut for Vancouver, and it was his goal that swung the momentum in the Whitecaps favour. The strike itself was first class, and the buildup play from Darren Mattocks was crucial. Mattocks has a point to prove this season and his performance on Saturday was one of many bright spots for Vancouver. His link play throughout the game was excellent, and it allowed the Whitecaps to dominate the game in midfield because they retained possession when the ball went forward. THE POSITIVES: Vancouver showed real attacking prowess, and their new players - Steven Beitashour, Sebastian Fernandez, Matias Laba, Pedro Morales and Nicolas Mezquida - have added genuine quality to Robinsons squad. Morales, in particular, looks like a great addition. Tactically, Robinsons formation trumped Petkes, as Vancouver outnumbered New York in the middle of the park and used that to dictate the tempo of the game. Strong contributions from Kenny Miller and Darren Mattocks in attacking roles also helped the Whitecaps stay in control of the game. THE NEGATIVES: New York was flat - literally and figuratively. The midfield duo of McCarty and Alexander never managed to assert themselves in the game, apart from the opening 15 minutes or so. Had New York played a diamond midfield, rather than a flat four, they would have had more depth to their game, both offensively and defensively. This would have allowed them to tighten up in the middle of the pitch, where Vancouver controlled the game, and also to ask more questions of the Whitecaps defensively - it was a reasonably David Ousted will be kicking himself for conceding a late goal. Mistakes happen, but Robinson will need to ensure that this was a one-off, and not an indication of a developing trend. A similar slip up in preseason by Ousted means that everyone will now be watching that much closer. THE STAR MAN: There were plenty of excellent performances on Saturday; Darren Mattocks and Kenny Miller did very well, as did Matias Laba and the back four. I gave the Man of the Match award to Sebastian Fernandez on Saturday for his overall performance as much as for his fantastic goal. But it is hard to ignore the contributions of Pedro Morales. He was only on the pitch for 25 minutes, but if that short period of time is any indication, Morales is going to be a star for the Vancouver Whitecaps. Mattias Ekholm Jersey . Bergevin hopes to have enforcer George Parros and captain Brian Gionta in the lineup for opening night. Parros - acquired from the Florida Panthers for his toughness and willingness to drop the gloves for his teammates - had offseason rotator cuff surgery while Gionta is rehabbing from surgery on his left biceps tendon. "Its possible that Gio might not be ready to start the season but hell be ready not too long after," Bergevin told reporters. P.K. Subbans contract status was also a hot topic. The young blueliner - who won the Norris Trophy in June - will become a restricted free agent again next summer and Bergevin sounded open to extending his contract in-season as he did last spring with David Desharnais and Francis Bouillon. "I would like to get something done," he told reporters, adding he did not want to discuss contracts in public. "It takes two to tango." Subban is one of eight experienced blueliners on defence this season, which isnt too big a number with Alexei Emelin still on the mend. Bergevin estimates that the Russian defenceman wont until December at the earliest -confirming what was widely believed following his knee surgery. Juuse Saros Predators Jersey. To make up for the absence of Emelins hitting and shot-blocking, the Canadiens signed Douglas Murray to a one-year contract two weeks ago. "I liked the way that the Canadiens viewed me as a player, thats why I wanted to sign here," Murray told reporters on Monday. "Im excited to be back in Montreal, its always a great time." Murray - along with his new teammates on the blue line - will be charged with the task of providing support for Carey Price, who struggled through the final stretch of last season. Price raised some eyebrows after the teams playoff elimination by Ottawa when he told reporters about the challenges of playing in a hockey-mad market like Montreal. The 26-year-old said he felt like a "Hobbit in a hole," adding that it was even tough to go grocery shopping in a city where everyone recognizes him. "There are a lot of human beings who are homebodies," Price explained on Monday. "I like keeping it on the (down low) with my family." Price will have plenty of support on the ice as well after the team hired Stephane Waite away from the Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks as their new goaltendering coach. "Me and Stephane (Waite) talked a few months ago," said Price. "Hopefully we can build a solid relationship." Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys ChinaCheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

Got a question on rule clarification, comments on rule enforcements or some memorable NHL stories? Kerry wants to answer your emails at cmonref@tsn. Ben Hutton Canucks Jersey .ca. Hey Kerry, Ill keep this short and sweet as Im sure Toronto fans will be flooding your inbox, but last night Dion Phaneuf was given a tripping penalty on a player who was offside. Why was he penalized? The opponent was offside and the whistle would/should have been blown just before the trip. Thanks,John --- Phaneuf for tripping - why was this a penalty? Was it because the trip happened before the linesman blew the whistle dead? I thought that the linesman blew the whistle and the trip happened after the whistle. Randy Carlyle seemed to accept the refs explanation. Regards,Dallas --- Watched the Leafs beat Phoenix - wondering about Dions penalty for tripping after the play was called offside? How is this even possible to get an in-game penalty outside of the game play? If anything, shouldnt it have been called unsportsmanlike conduct, which he would have gotten had he gone up to someone and tripped them outside of game play? Justin John, Dallas and Justin:Infractions that occur simultaneously with or after a stoppage are typically penalized as though play was actually in progress. I could offer many examples where penalties have been assessed during a stoppage in play including just prior to a puck drop when players are lined up for a faceoff. The rules are applied whether the game clock is running or not. However, rule 57 (tripping) is very specific in stating, "Accidental trips which occur simultaneously with a completed play will not be penalized. Accidental trips occurring simultaneously with or after a stoppage of play will not be penalized." The optimum word in the rule is "accidental." This is intended to allow the referee to exercise common sense and sound judgment in determining that a trip occurring simultaneously with or after a stoppage would have absolutely no bearing on the play. If however, a tripping infraction in the opinion of the referee caused an attacking player from cleanly entering the zone and therefore resulted in an offside at the blue line then the trip would in fact have a bearing on the play and a penalty would be assessed. It was a bang-bang play last night when Mike Ribeiro pulled the puck back and made a shift just ahead of the blue line to avoid a Dion Phaneuf check. Ribeiros move delayed the puck from crossing the line and caused David Moss to jump offside on the right wing. Phaneuf then stuck his stick in the feet of Ribeiro causing the Coyote to trip after the offside infraction had been committed and but a split second before the linesmans whistle sounded. As a result, there should have been no penalty assessed to Dion Phaneuf on the play. The wide camera shot demonstrates that both referees immediately reacted to the trip by raising their arms. The referee in the neutral zone can be seen giving a wash-out signal because once the linesman blew his whistle he realized the play was offside at the blue line. The other referee that made the call from deep inside the Leafs end zone and on the opposite side to where trip had occurred did not pull back on his first reaction to the trip and assessed the penalty. From his position, the ref inside the zone must have deemed that the trip caused the offside and the blue line and therefore should be penalized. I had a similar play one game in Los Angeles when Terry Murray was coaching the Kings. A King forward carried the puck across the attacking blue line. While the referee doesnt usually pay close attention when an attacking team crosses the blue line I had a quick sense that this entry looked offside but no whistle resulted. The attacker continued to carry the puck a good fifteen feet inside the zone when a defender tripped the King puck carrier. I raised my arm and as I blew my whistle I heard the sound of the linesmans whistle being blown simultaneously with mine. I approached the linesman and asked what had happened. He said the play was offside and he was slow in blowing the whistle; 15 feet slow! There was no way that I was going to penalize a team for a trip that had no bearing on the play as a result of an offside that should have been blown down well in advance of the trip. Problem was Terry Murray, the players on both teams and close to 20,000 people saw me raise my arm to call the obvious trip! I communicated my decision and reasons not to assess the penalty to Murray. In spite of Terrys protest that I couldnt take away a penalty that everyone in the building saw me call my final decision stood. My last comment to Terry at the Kings bench was that in the NFL it would be announced as an "errant flag". On this night in the Staples Center he could consider it as an "errant arm"! I skated over to the penalty box, clicked on my microphone and make the official announcement, "There was no penalty on the play as a result of the offside at the blue line." The linesman quickly dropped the puck in the neutral zone and it was "game on." Common sense and sound judgment prevailed. Alexander Mogilny Canucks Jersey . -- James Harden scored 31 points, including 25 in the second half, and the Houston Rockets dug out of a double-digit, first-half hole to beat the Orlando Magic 101-89 on Wednesday night. Henrik Sedin Canucks Jersey . The Oilers fan base was expecting the teams first playoff berth since the 2005-2006 season while the Flames were entering a franchise rebuild after trading cornerstone Jarome Iginla at the trade deadline the previous season and losing long-time starting goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff to retirement. On Saturday night, the Flames skated to an 8-1 romp over the Oilers in Edmonton, leaving many to wonder which team was further ahead in the race for the playoffs next season. Not surprisingly, the Flames currently sit well outside of a playoff spot with most fans showing the patience and support for the rebuild that president of hockey operations and interim general manager Brian Burke has asked for. The Oilers, on the other hand, now sit last in the Western Conference, six points behind the Flames and mathematically eliminated from the playoffs with a fan base fed up with a fifth straight losing season. President of hockey operations Kevin Lowe pronounced the team to be "poised for greatness" last season, yet that greatness remains to be seen. With both team already looking toward next season, the question in the Battle of Alberta is which team will make the playoffs first: the Flames or the Oilers? On paper, it would appear the advantage is with the Oilers. The team has three former first-overall draft picks on their roster and two other first-round picks in Sam Gagner and Jordan Eberle. Their goaltending tandem is set for next season with Ben Scrivens and Viktor Fasth and the team has their 2013 first-round pick, Darnell Nurse, developing in the OHL. However, the Oilers recent struggles has surrounded the team with question marks, including entertaining thoughts of trading one of the young stars to meet another need. Adidas Ultra Boost. The Flames appear to be on a much steadier course, trusting in Burke to put together a team that will enter the playoffs in the near future. Burkes history with rebuilding the Vancouver Canucks and Toronto Maple Leafs inspires confidence that, with time, the team will reach the playoffs. Burke also put the finishing touches on the Anaheim Ducks that propelled them to a Stanley Cup. "I think I add a value. Ive been able to fix just about every team Ive worked for, sometimes quicker than others." Burke said when he was introduced as a member of Flames organization. Burke also inspired confidence with his 2013 first-round draft pick Sean Monahan. Monahan is second on the Flames in goals this season with 19 and fifth on the team in total points with 31. Both the Oilers and Flames will likely be in the draft lottery this season with a chance to select first overall, a disappointment for Edmonton and an expectation for Calgary. "Im an impatient guy. We have to do some bold things to move this team forward in a rapid fashion. We have to a better job arming our coaches and our core players with a group to get us to a highly-competitive level," Craig MacTavish said when he was introduced was the Oilers general manager last season. Moving forward, the Battle of Alberta may be turning into a race to see which team will make the playoffs first. Will the Flames steady rebuild pay off with a post-season entrance before the Oilers find a solution to their recent woes? Or will the Oilers embarrassment of young talent come together and deliver the playoff appearance fans are growing restless for? So, which team will make the playoffs first: the Oilers or Flames? EAST RUTHERFORD, N. Puma Rihanna Marrones .J. - Starting isnt an issue for New York Giants running back Andre Brown. After spending the last 10 weeks on recallable injured reserve with a second broken leg in less than a year, all Brown cares about is playing against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday. "Sitting out this long, as long as I go in there and make a play or two, thats what I am looking forward to," Brown said Wednesday after practice. "Its not about starting. Its just about being back out there, especially coming from where I came from: the humble beginnings and breaking (the leg) and going through this adversity again and coming back. Its a surreal moment to go out and play football again." Brown has not had the easiest career in the NFL. The five-year veteran has had a career marked by injuries and a nomadic journey from team to team. He finally seemed to catch on last year with the Giants, scoring eight touchdowns in 10 games, playing mostly in passing and goal-line situations. Unfortunately, he broke his left fibula in late November and broke it again in the same spot in the preseason finale against New England. "The doctors said the odds of being hit in the same spot and breaking it again were just crazy," Brown said. The leg has healed and Brown had been practicing for the past two weeks. He fully expects to play Sunday and he cant hide his excitement. He wants the ball handed to him. He wants to feel the thud of getting popped. He wants to hit someone. He wants to play football again for a team that a couple of weeks ago didnt have a starting halfback because of injuries. "I am ready to roll," Brown said. "I am pretty sure they are going to switch us in and out to make sure I have my wind. Its not about the leg. Its about me getting back in football shape, which I am in, but getting used to contact and seeing how that goes." Coach Tom Coughlin indicated Brown will have a role. "Im looking forward to the return of that player, quite frankly," Coughlin said. "Size, speed, he can catch the ball out of the backfield, he does a good job in pass protection. You sometimes forget that the guy is 230 pounds. Thats a little bit of a different dimension." Coming off a bye, the Giants have three potential starters with Brandon Jacobs healthy and Peyton Hillis. Hillis seemingly is more in shape after coming in off the street and carrying the brunt of the running attack with David Wilson (neck) and Jacobs (hamstring) sidelined. Coughlin joked about Browns role when pressed about how much he would be able to do, saying he envisions Brown would carry the ball 40 times, catch 15 passes and return kickoffs. Brown didnt know what to make of Coughlins comment until being told the coach was being sarcastic. "Whew," said a relieved Brown, who plans to wear a small shin guard on his leg. Doctors have said hell have to wear it the rest of his career. Having Brown back in the lineup should help the offence, which didnt score a touchdown in the 15-7 win over Philadelphia before the bye. Josh Brown kicked five field goals. "Its a great tribute to Andre the way he has worked to come back from these injuries," quarterback Eli Manning said. "I know it has been frustrating for him, but he has done a great job of staying positive. The team has supported him and had his back. Hopefully, hell come back and help us out." Brown said the keys for him will be to hold onto the ball and make sure he makes his blocks in passing situations. "Its going to be fun. I just cant wait," Brown said. "I havent been getting too much sleep because its like Christmas. Im just really looking forward to going back out there and playing." NOTES: G Chris Snee got off crutches Wednesday, three weeks after hip surgery, his second in a year. ...WR Victor Cruz (neck) expects to practice Thursday after being held out as a precaution. ...DE Jason Pierre-Paul said he now feels the best he has since having back surgery in June, noting hes 90 per cent. ___ AP NFL website: —www.pro32.ap.org Puma Basket Heart Rosa . In 2005 as the offensive coordinator in Toronto, he worked with the veteran Damon Allen, who was entering his 21st year in the CFL. For two decades the much-maligned Allen had fought for respect from his critics, who had always called him a great athlete and runner but seldom mentioned his passing skills. Prior to that memorable season Allen had played in Edmonton, Memphis, Ottawa, Hamilton, Toronto and BC and in 20 years had averaged 202 yards/game passing, and had only thrown over 25 touchdowns in a single season once. Enter Kent Austin, a quarterback himself for BC and Saskatchewan, and one of only four players to ever have a 6,000-plus yard passing season. In 2005 with the Argos, Allen threw for 5,082 yards, a career best. He found the end zone 33 times on the season. He also wasnt told to change his style and eliminate his running talent - instead he was instructed to complement it with a concerted effort to improve his passing accuracy. Allen would comment that year that, "he had never worked with a coach that held him that accountable before." Allen would go on to say that, "coach Kent would stand behind him in practice early on and quiz him after every throw, asking what did you see, what was the read, and where should you go with the ball," and expected immediate answers. That year Allen was named the CFLs Most Outstanding Player. In the 2007 season Austin landed the head coaching job in Saskatchewan and had even more say as to which quarterback would start, and how that pivot would be handled and coached, and for Austin, that meant a hands on approach. That year his student would be Kerry Joseph again, a QB that was an athlete first and a quarterback second according to the media. Joseph was a former safety in his NFL days but was able to play his favourite position when arriving in Ottawa in 2003. Over the ccourse of four years as a starter Joseph, much like Allen at that time, was being praised for his ability to run the ball, but there were very few mentions of his passing prowess. Puma Fierce Mujer. Joseph was averaging 236 yards passing per game prior to 2007, and had averaged 19.8 TDs/year for the four seasons. Enter Austin, who Joseph says, "expanded my knowledge of the game, and took my mental game to a whole new level." According to KJ, Austin was a perfectionist in practice, always making sure he understood what to do with the football on every play. "Coach Austin would always say, you have to know on every play where you should be going with the football," Joseph recalled. The quarterback knowing what he should be doing with the ball is at times different than what he actually does with the ball, even on successful plays. Just because a QB finds an open receiver for a long TD, or scrambles to buy time, and makes a play down the field doesnt necessarily mean it was what he should have done with the ball. Joseph while playing for Austin had to know what he should have done with it on every play, despite the outcome of the play. In 2007 the Riders would win their third Grey Cup in franchise history, and Kerry Joseph won the leagues Most Outstanding Player award. What does all this mean for Henry Burris? Well it is hard to imagine that Burris could improve on his numbers from last year. He threw for a league-leading 5,367 yards and 43 touchdowns, both personal bests. However if there is anyone that could coach an even better year out of Burris it would be Kent Austin. After Austin signed in Hamilton, Joseph sent a text to Burris and congratulated him for getting Austin as his coach, and told him to prepare for his best year ever. In 2012 the MOP in the CFL was Chad Owens, and no player deserved it more. When you average over 200 yards per game you are the most outstanding player in the league. However, if in 2013 Burris stays healthy, and like Allen in 05, and Joseph in 07, takes his "mental game" to a whole new level, he just may add a second MOP award to his resume. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. Calgary Flames Hoodie . -- Challenged for the first time under Major League Baseballs expanded replay system, umpires got it right. The umps went 3 for 3 on Monday as MLB tried out the new format at three spring training games. The first test came at 3:06 p.m. EST in Fort Myers, Fla., after first base umpire Fieldin Culbreth ruled Toronto shortstop Munenori Kawasakis throw pulled Jared Goedert off the bag in the sixth inning. "Im not too sure that youre not right here," Culbreth said Blue Jays manager John Gibbons told him, "but since we havent done it before, lets go take a look." Culbreth answered: "OK. Thats what its for." After 2 minutes, 34 seconds, replay umpire Brian ONora relayed his call by headset, confirming that Minnesota batter Chris Rahl was safe. During the wait, Rahl said he realized he perhaps was part of history. "Its kind of funny. I was thinking, Is this the first one?" he said. ONora made the final ruling from a satellite truck outside the stadium. During the regular season, umpires on the field will check with the replay booth in New York, where an MLB umpire will make the final call. Later in the game, Culbreth rotated and took a turn in the truck, confirming another safe call at first base. "Im looking at this thing as, this is the future of the game. And Im going to treat these games here the same way that Im going to treat them during the regular season," Culbreth said. In the eighth inning, Doug Bernier of the Twins was called safe on a close play at first. As Culbreth studied the replay, the ballpark sound system played a Rolling Stones song with the familiar lyric, "I cant get no satisfaction." The call was confirmed, Bernier was safe. Extra replay also was in place for two games in Arizona -- the Los Angeles Angels vs. Arizona Diamondbacks in Scottsdale and the Chicago Cubs against Milwaukee in Phoenix. Each team in the majors will have at least five exhibition games with the new system in place. In January, owners approved the use of additional video replay to review most calls other than balls-and-strikes. Previously, umpires could only go to replay to review home runs and boundary calls. Moments after the first replay call, Angels manager Mike Scioscia wasted little time in using his challenge. In the top of the second, Luis Jimenez of the Angels tried to steal second. Catcher Bobby Wilsons throw was high but second base umpire Bill Miller ruled that Aaron Hill tagged the runner out. Scioscia bounded out of the dugout and charged toward Miller to argue, just like managers always have done. Instead, though, he chose to use his challenge. After two of the umpires made a quick visit to the Angels dugout to communicate with the replay umpire, the call was upheld. "We werent trying to make a mockery out of it," Scioscia said of using the challenge so soon. "We thought it was a pretty close play." There was only one angle available with the limited camera work of a spring training telecast. "If we have 15 angles of that," Scioscia said, "theres a possibility it gets reversed." That review took 2:31. Since he lost the challenge, Scioscia had no more. "I dont think its going to take much time in the logistics. That will smooth out," he said. "As far as the strategy of it, thats going to take a lot. It might be something you win, but you know you need that challenge to save the big play somewhere." Twins manager Ron Gardenhire and Arizonas Kirk Gibson did not use their challenge. Neither did Cubs manager Rick Renteria nor the Brewers Ron Roenicke. Gibson said he thought about contesting a close play when Paul Goldschmidt nearly beat out a grounder but said he decided it was 50-50 and not worth it. "I think its going to be a lot more complicated than we thought," Gibson said. "We had a lot of conversation during the game." For the Angels-Diamondbacks game, the replay trailer was set up in the parking lot behind centre field. Teams are allowed to have a person to watch the game on television and advise the managers via phone whether it would be worth it for the call to be challenged. The Angels communicated via walkie talkie Monday but there will be a dedicated phone line for each team in the major league parks. Under the new rules, each manager has one challenge. If the first challenge is successful, the manager gets a second. From the seventh inning on, if the manager is out of challenges, the umpire can decide to have the play reviewed. Some critics of expanded replay worried that challenges would delay the game too much. Culbreth said he didnt think that would be a problem, and pointed at the benefits. "It will work itself out. I think time really isnt going to be an issue in the end," he said. "And if it is, its about getting the play right in the end, anyhow." Al MacInnis Flames Jersey . -- Kevin Harvick pulled away on a restart with 47 laps to go and ended Chase Elliotts two-race winning streak in NASCARs Nationwide Series with a dominating victory early Saturday at Richmond International Raceway. Kris Versteeg Flames Jersey .Y. - Geno Smith still thinks of himself as the New York Jets starting quarterback.Melbourne, Australia (SportsNetwork.com) - Novak Djokovic captured a mens Open Era-record fifth Australian Open title on Sunday by defeating Andy Murray in the final in Melbourne. The world No. 1 great secured his fourth Aussie title in five years by handling the sixth-seeded Murray 7-6 (7-5), 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, 6-0 in 3 hours, 39 minutes at Rod Laver Arena. This was the first time that a mens Aussie final ended with a love set. It marked Djokovics eighth career Grand Slam title in 15 major finals. Hes also the reigning Wimbledon champ. Djokovic joined Jimmy Connors, Ivan Lendl and Andre Agassi as an eight- time major champ in the Open Era. The great Djokovic also joined Stefan Edberg and Roger Federer as the only men in the Open Era to play in five finals at the Aussie Open. He has won all five of his finals here, including three now against Murray, who also gave way to the Serb in the 2011 and 2013 finals, as well as a semifinal here in 2012. Djokovic and the now four-time runner-up Murray are the only pair in the Open Era to contest three Aussie Open title tilts. Djokovic snuck out the ultra-tight 72-minute opening set via tiebreak before Murray returned the favor in a grueling 80-minute second. Both stanzas featured fierce ball striking, lengthy and physical rallies, and gut-busting court coverage. But the match would take a turn for Djokovic in the third. After trailing 0-2, he broke an agitated Murray to even the set at 2-all, consolidated the break with a hold and then would simply manage to cruise from there. The Serbian stalwart won 12 of the final 13 games, including nine in a row to seal the deal in Melbourne. The match came to a close when a weary Murray netted one final backhand. Djokovic broke Murray a whopping nine times, while the British star settled for five breaks in a losing effort. Murray only managed to win 14 of his 41 second-serve points for a paltry 34 percent. The mighty Djokovic is now 12-0 versus Murray after winning the first set of their encounters. I want to congratulate Andy for a great tournament. Bad luck tonight, Djokovic said. But most importantly I want to congratulate you and Kim [Sears] on your engagement. I wish you a wonderful wedding and lots of kids. Alex Chiasson Flames Jersey. Djokovic also thanked his coach, Boris Becker, and his entourage: They sacrifice their lives in order for me to be out here. Without their support, this wouldnt be possible. A protester was stopped on court by security during the second set, causing a brief delay in play. Tournament organizers said two people were arrested by police. Security responded immediately. Both were quickly removed with minimal disruption to play, tournament organizers said. Security guards caught one court invader, who was wearing a white shirt with the message Australia Open for Refugees, near the baseline during a changeover after the seventh game of the second set. The players were surrounded by security staff while stadium officials rushed into action. A group of other people who had unfurled a large banner with the same message was escorted out of Laver Arena. Djokovic improved to 16-8 lifetime against his fellow 27-year-old Murray, including 5-2 at Grand Slam events, and the Serb is now 3-2 in their career Grand Slam finals. Djokovic is also now 5-2 versus Murray in best-of-five-set matches. Murray had been 5-4 against Djokovic in their overall career finals matchups prior to Sunday. Its been probably the most consistent Grand Slam of my career -- I just havent been able to win it, said Murray after his first major final appearance since back surgery in late 2013. We put in a lot of hard work to get back into this position, he added, paying tribute to Amelie Mauresmo and his team. Im a little bit closer than I was a few months ago, and Ill continue to work hard to get there. Ill try and come back next year and have a different outcome in the final. Djokovic improved to 49-22 in his overall career finals, while Murray dropped to 31-15, including 2-6 at the majors. Djokovic now owns 50 career match wins at the Aussie, where only Federer (75-12) and Edberg (56-10) have secured more victories at this hardcourt major in the Open Era. The amazing Djokovic has won his last 10 matches against fellow Top-10 players. Djokovic claimed a first-place check worth just over $2.4 million, while Murray settled for $1.2 million as the bridesmaid. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

The fans at the ACC have been awesome and I really want them to just get caught in the moment, kind of take a step back and soak it all in, because its going to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience and opportunity for us. I feel like if we go out there and we play the right way, the way we can, well be able to get the job done. Team Canada reached the gold medal game with a 5-1 win over Slovakia on Sunday with Nic Petan leading the way with a hat trick. Canada outshot Slovakia 44-15 in the rematch of Canadas opening 8-0 win on Boxing Day. Fucale made 14 stops in the semifinal and picked up his fourth win of the tournament. Thus far, the United States has provided the toughest challenge of the tournament for Canada, who trounced Denmark in the quarterfinal. Russias road the final, however, has been much tougher. After finishing as the third seed in Group B with five points (one regulation win, one overtime win and two losses), Russia faced the United States in the quarterfinal round. Despite being outshot 41-25 by the Americans, goaltender Igor Shestyorkin led Russia to a 3-2 win over the United States. Russia then matched up against unbeaten Sweden in the semifinal round in a rematch of Swedens 3-2 win on December 29. Russia opened up a 3-0 lead in the third period before relegating Sweden to the bronze medal game with a 4-1 victory. The Russians feel their tough road to the gold medal game could be an advantage as they take another unbeaten team – and a team yet to trail - in Canada. We had a couple of pretty hard games against the U.S. and Sweden, forward Ivan Barbashyov said after Russias Sunday win. We know how to play, and well be playing the same way we played today and two days ago. This game will serve as the latest chapter in the storied history of the Canada-Russia rivalry. It is also a rematch of the 2011 World Junior final, in which Canada held a three-goal lead after two periods before losing 5-3. MILWAUKEE -- Kevin Love had both feet soaking in a bucket of cold water and ice packs wrapped around his knees. Ultra Boost 3.0 Norge . A knee to the thigh might have stung him the most, but his sixth straight double-double made up for the brief burst of pain. Love had 33 points and 15 rebounds, Nikola Pekovic added 19 points and 11 boards, and the Minnesota Timberwolves climbed back to .500 by routing the Milwaukee Bucks 117-95 on Saturday night. "Ill be good to go. Once they called a timeout and worked on it, it was fine," Love said. Good thing for Minnesota (15-15), which won its second straight game behind another stellar outing from Love. "He wakes up getting double-doubles," said teammate Kevin Martin, who had 20 points. Love hit four of Minnesotas 11 3-pointers and the Timberwolves pulled away with a 14-0 run to start the second half. Perimeter defence was once again a huge problem for the Bucks, who have allowed opponents to hit at least 10 3s in seven consecutive games. Khris Middleton scored 23 points on 10-of-20 shooting for the Bucks, who fell to an NBA-worst 6-24. Larry Sanders had nine points and 10 rebounds in 33 minutes, his first start since missing seven weeks following right thumb surgery. "We were just kind of deflated. We didnt get our momentum back," Sanders said. "We got a little in the first half, lost it for a second, and just never got it back. Thats the story of the game." Minnesota had an easy time snapping a three-game losing streak away from home. Martin smiled after his shot from the wing bounced on the rim a couple of times before falling through the net for a 24-point lead with 4:32 left in the third quarter. The Timberwolves led by as many as 31 before the Bucks mounted a late charge. It was nerve-racking enough that coach Rick Adelman put Love back on the floor late to ensure the Bucks didnt complete an improbable comeback. If there was anything for Adelman to worry about from this blowout heading into a three-game stretch at home, it was the play of his bench late. "When they go in, no matter what the score is, they have to play like the game is on the line," he said. If only Milwaukee could have contained Minnesota from the perimeter. The Timberwolves, the leagues third-highest scoring team (106.1 points per game) shot 45 per cent from 3-point territory after hitting at a 33 per cent clip for the season. A nine-point halftime lead climbed to double digits following a 14-0 run to start the third quarter. Corey Brewer (12 points) got the fun started by freezing rookie Giannis Antetokounmpo on the perimeter and hitting an 18-footer. Martin hit a 3 from the wing to make it 73-55 with 9:33 left after getting a pass from Brewer. Martin was so open that Brewer raised both arms in the air in celebration as he backpedaled on defence before the ball floated through the net. Halfcourt defence and ball movement sparked the Timberwolves, while Bucks coach Larry Drew said his team got broken down off the dribble and beaten on back cuts. "We got caught a couple of times staring at the ball and they just back-cut us," Drew said. "Nothing we werent ready for, we just didnt get the job done." O.J. Mayos 3 with 7:26 left finally ended the slide, but the offensively challenged Bucks were still saddled with a 20-point deficit. Milwaukee came in 28th in the league in scoring at 92.6 points per game. Mayo finished with 19 points. The Bucks had 20 turnovers, leading to 25 points for Minnesota. Two people familiar with the Sabres decision told The Associated Press on Tuesday that the team has placed Leino on waivers for the purpose of buying out the remaining three years of his contract. The people spoke on the condition of anonymity because the Sabres didnt announce the move, which was made a day after the NHLs buyout period began. Leino was set to make $11 million over the final three years of a six-year, $27 million contract. Should he go unclaimed on 24-hour waivers, the Sabres would buy out Leinos contract by paying him two-thirds of what hes owed. One of the people also told the AP that the Vancouver Canucks placed forward David Booth on waivers for the purpose of buying out the remaining two years on his contract. The Sabres decision on Leino did not come as a surprise. In April, general manager Tim Murray called buying out Leino as "a very good possibility." Leino was bracing for the possibility of being a buyout candidate after the season ended. Inconsistent play and a series of injuries contributed to Leiino being a huge disappointment in Buffalo. Adidas Superstar Svart. The seventh-year player managed no goals and 15 assists in 58 games last season. And he finished with just 10 goals and 46 points in 137 games with the Sabres. That was a considerable drop-off from Leinos previous four seasons, in which he combined for 30 goals and 73 points in 149 games split between Detroit and Philadelphia. The Sabres had high hopes for Leino to be a fixture on one of their top two lines. They signed him as part of a series of big splashes in the summer of 2011 in owner Terry Pegulas bid to build an immediate contender. The Sabres also acquired defenceman Robyn Regehr in a trade with Calgary, and acquired the rights to defenceman Christian Ehrhoff, and signed him to a 10-year, $40 million contract before the start of free agency. The moves ultimately backfired. The Sabres have missed the playoffs in each of the past three seasons, and are coming off one of their franchises worst finishes. In placing last in the overall standings, Buffalo (21-51-10) set a post-NHL-expansion-era low by scoring 150 goals and a franchise record for losses. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

DALLAS -- Patty Mills is a shooter no matter when he goes into the game. Rihanna Puma Creepers Ireland . The San Antonio guard showed it in yet another win over the Dallas Mavericks. Mills scored 26 points starting in place of Tony Parker and the Spurs moved to the brink of the top seed in the Western Conference while likely forcing the Mavericks into a must-win situation with their playoff hopes by beating Dallas 109-100 on Thursday night. Making his second start of the season and seventh of his career with Parker nursing a bad back, Mills had 11 points and a pair of steals in the third quarter when the Spurs turned a two-point deficit into an 11-point lead. "Whether I start or come off the bench, theres a mentality," said Mills, who fell six points short of his season high on 25 shots -- one shy of the most hes taken this season. "Shooting shots is the same." The Spurs beat the Mavericks for the ninth straight time in the regular season, a streak that has lasted more than two years. Tim Duncan had 20 points and 15 rebounds after leaving briefly in the first quarter because of a hyperextended right knee. Kawhi Leonard added 16 points, a career-high 16 rebounds and five assists. Monta Ellis led Dallas with 24 points and Dirk Nowitzki had 19. Even with Parker back in San Antonio, the Texas rivals looked like the old playoff foes they are in an entertaining game with both teams trying to lock up their post-season plans. The Spurs are in, and the defending conference champions are just a win or an Oklahoma City loss away from securing the top seed in the West. The Mavericks (48-32) are in a scrum with Phoenix and Memphis -- their opponents in the final two games -- for the final two playoff spots a year after missing the post-season for the first time since 2000. Dallas is in a virtual tie with the Suns (47-31) and a game ahead of the Grizzlies (46-32). Both opponents have four games in the last six days of the season, with Phoenix coming to Dallas on Saturday night to finish a back-to-back that starts in San Antonio. "Obviously, Saturdays huge for us," said Devin Harris, who had eight points but was just 1 of 8 from the field. "Weve got to come out with that type of effort, knowing that our seasons on the line and its a game that we must have." The Spurs had a scary moment early when Duncan crumpled to the court holding his right knee and stayed down for a Dallas possession at the other end. When the Spurs got the game stopped with 5:58 left in the first quarter, he headed for a tunnel but emerged a few minutes later and returned to the game. "It really wasnt that bad," Duncan said. "It just scared me more than anything." Parker missed his second straight game after leaving early in a win over Memphis on Sunday. The Spurs trailed by as many as 28 points and never led in a 19-point loss to Minnesota without Parker, but Mills started in place of Cory Joseph and took over against the Mavericks. Mills had eight points on an 11-0 first-half spurt that lasted just a minute and a half and answered a 14-2 run by Dallas to put San Antonio back in front by five. After Duncan, Leonard and Danny Green keyed a 9-2 run to start the second half, Mills scored 11 of the next 13 San Antonio points capped by a 3-pointer for a 71-60 lead midway through the third quarter. "Hes always aggressive," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. "Hes not going to get a whole lot of rebounds or stop a whole lot of people, but hes going to shoot it. Thats what his skill is. Mills was 6 of 11 from 3-point range, and Green hit three from beyond the arc in the first 5 minutes and finished with 15 points as the Spurs matched their season high with 16 from long range on a season-high 34 attempts. "We just didnt find them quick enough," Dallas coach Rick Carlisle said. "It was an area that was easily identifiable as one of the big keys of the game." Ellis scored 12 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter with the San Antonio lead hovering around double digits. He was just 5 of 16 from the field through three quarters. Both had to wait out a rain interruption lasting nearly five hours before taking comprehensive third-round victories to join Carling Bassett-Seguso (1983, 1986), Patricia Hy-Boulais (1996-97) and Daniel Nestor (1999) as Canadians who made it into the second week of a major. Bouchard, semifinalist in Melbourne and Paris already this season, posted a 6-3, 6-4 defeat of German Andrea Petkovic. Raonic, from Thornhill, Ont., joined Bouchard in Wimbledons second week by beating Polands Lukasz Kubot in the third round 7-6 (2), 7-6(4), 6-2. He fired over 30 aces and 50 winners, breaking twice with just six unforced errors on the way to victory. "I was able to be dominant on my serve, I only lost nine points on it," said Raonic. "This definitely makes my life a lot easier and puts pressure on him. "But at the same time, I didnt really have my opportunities. I played a few good points in tiebreaks and he was able to of hold on." Raonic has won three straight Wimbledon grass matches for the first time, after doing the same at Halle, Germany in 2011 and 2012. "Im starting from very low comfort level on grass but now Im feeling pretty comfortable," said Raonic. "Ive made pretty significant progress on this surface this year." The 13th-seeded Bouchard, from Weestmount, Que. Puma Suede Heart Black. , started her match in the early afternoon but found herself in the locker-room for nearly five hours after 15 minutes of play as rain wrecked the schedule. But the weather cleared up in the early evening with Bouchard and Petkovic returning to the court with the Canadian leading 2-1. Bouchard picked up where she left off, putting the pressure on a player who had defeated her in three previous meetings including the Rogers Cup in Toronto three years ago. She took victory on her third match point when Petkovic hit the net with a return. Bouchard produced 30 winners and 14 unforced errors, breaking five time in the match lasting less than 90 minutes. She next plays Frances Alzie Cornet, who beat top seed and five-time champion Serena Williams for the second time this season, winning 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 in a stunning upset. Cornet won their previous meeting on clay at Strasbourg last year. "I played well, even though it was straight sets it was a battle," said Bouchard. "It was tough with the lone rain delay, but it was the same for both girls "Im happy I was able to close it out with any serve, being aggressive and taking the ball early. During the rain delay I tried to conserve energy -- I wanted to give it all on the court. Bouchard said she didnt actually mind the wait. "Rain is part of the Wimbledon experience," she said with a laugh. "Weve been lucky so far, you have to have some rain at Wimbledon." Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

Ireland was the last unbeaten side in the championship after France fell to Wales on Friday, and was favoured to end a three-match losing run to England with a side with more than twice as many caps, rampant momentum, and added incentive to celebrate Brian ODriscolls world record-tying 139th test cap. But England, with unexpected daring, overturned a 10-3 deficit to lead again within eight minutes, and more than a quarter of the match to go. In a match marked by gritty, desperate defence, the young English withstood a firestorm finish from Ireland to register what coach Stuart Lancaster called the best win in his tenure, considering the context. "Given the experience of the Ireland team, the form they were in, the quality of the coaching and the players theyve got and some of the relative inexperience we have, Im just so proud of the boys," Lancaster said. "We showed great maturity in closing out the game. It was character, spirit, playing for the shirt. Ireland, fair play to them, threw everything at us, and once we got that lead we just clung on in there." Four teams were tied at the top, with Ireland ahead only on points difference from England, Wales and France. The next decisive matches appeared to be England hosting two-time defending champion Wales in two weeks, and France closing the tournament at home against Ireland. England and Ireland scored one converted try each, with the difference on the scoreboard provided by Englands Owen Farrell, who knocked over two of his three penalty attempts. Jonathan Sexton hit the only penalty shot he had. Irelands scrum was dominant, taking advantage of England tighthead David Wilson playing with basically only a half of rugby in two monthss. Puma Rihanna Creepers Online. But for all of the ball Ireland had, it couldnt turn pressure into points as Englands defence and discipline was top shelf. England fired the first shot in the thriller. Left wing Jonny May should have crossed in the right corner early but he was slowed by Ireland flanker Peter OMahony and scrumhalf Conor Murray arrived just as May was diving over the line to knock the ball from his grasp. Then Ireland worked a brilliant move, with Sextons crosskick caught by Andrew Trimble on the right wing, but his offload inside to fullback Rob Kearney was bobbled, and he was swallowed by Englishmen. Farrell was lucky soon after not to be sin-binned. His late shoulder charge on Murray conceded only a penalty. Referee Craig Jouberts decision was critical, because Farrell then kicked the only points of the half, a penalty from 50 metres. Farrells second penalty chance hit the upright, and the teams could both be happy where things stood at the break. Just 90 seconds into the second half, Ireland was even happier. Ireland worked lineout ball to the middle of Englands 22, No. 8 Jamie Heaslip stood wide of a ruck and England believed he was spreading it wide. He was waiting for Kearney to scream up inside him, slice clean through and curve towards the posts untouched. Sexton converted for 10-3, and added a penalty in the 49th for 13-3. Then England turned on the pressure, and Ireland was happy to concede three points rather than five. Farrell obliged and the deficit was four. Englands try came from surprising ambition inside its own half. Farrell, under pressure in space, could have kicked the ball for relief but passed to Jack Nowell, who found Mike Brown inside speeding into a gap on halfway. Brown blew through, and scrumhalf Danny Care came up his inside to finish off between the posts. Farrell converted, England had the lead back, and this time kept it. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys ChinaCheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '
