He feels better. He ruled out additional surgery. And he’s eager to play football after spending the last 13 months rehabbing from shoulder surgery. If all goes well Cheap Josh Sitton Jersey , the three-time Pro Bowl quarterback might even return in time for the start of April’s offseason workouts.

Colts season-ticket holders couldn’t have asked for a better town hall meeting.

”That is not an option for me,” Luck said when Sports Illustrated reporter Peter King asked during a pre-taped interview if he might need more surgery. ”Right now, that ship has sailed in my mind, which is also a bit of a relief. I’m not going to lie.”

The answer drew loud applause from a nearly packed house.

Still, skepticism is understandable after the turns and twists of last season.

Luck had surgery for a partially torn labrum in January 2017. He, general manager Chris Ballard and then coach Chuck Pagano all spent months optimistically talking about Luck’s long-awaited return, only to watch the process continue to drag on. Team owner Jim Irsay joined the chorus in August, suggesting Luck would return to game action in September.

But things didn’t work out as anticipated.

Instead Authentic Cody Latimer Jersey , the top overall draft pick in 2012 missed all of Indy’s offseason workouts, all of training camp and all of the preseason. After sitting out the first month of the regular season, Luck finally started throwing a football.

Two weeks later, team officials shut him down after he complained of lingering soreness. He spent the next few weeks seeking opinions about a second surgery before going on season-ending injured reserve in November.

Luck then headed to Europe, where he continued rehabbing until returning to the team complex days before last season’s finale.

He hadn’t spoken publicly about the shoulder since Dec. 29, so the fact he’s talking now could be a promising sign even though a throwing timeline remains unclear.

”I’m in the middle of a little bit of throwing,” Luck explained without saying whether he was using a football or another object. ”But I’m really preparing and strengthening the shoulder to handle the throwing load of an NFL quarterback, to make sure the shoulder can handle it.”

A healthy Luck Authentic Tyquan Lewis Jersey , the No. 3 pick in the upcoming draft and tens of millions of dollars in salary-cap space presumably could have made Indy’s coaching vacancy the most attractive opening this offseason.

Initially, it appeared the Colts may have gotten the most highly coveted candidate when New England offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels agreed to take the job. Eight hours later, he called back to say no despite already having hired three assistants.

So last week, the Colts went with their next best option – Super Bowl-winning offensive coordinator Frank Reich of Philadelphia.

While some around the league were mystified by what happened and others, including Ballard, were upset, fans embraced Ballard’s second choice.

When King, the event moderator Edwin Encarnacion Jersey , asked Reich if he appreciated McDaniels backing out, one fan shouted: ”We are.”

”That’s very kind,” Reich said.

If Luck’s recovery lingers again, this time the Colts should be in better shape.

Jacoby Brissett, a player Reich said he liked coming out of college, started 15 games for Indy after being acquired in a trade on cut-down weekend.

Still, the Colts know with a lot of Luck, they could go from 4-12 to playoff contender.

Reich just wants to make sure his franchise quarterback is healthy first.

”You don’t want to say `How you doing Youth Courtland Sutton Jersey , how you doing, how you doing?’ every day. I mean, who wants that?” Reich said. ”I’m hopeful that (his return), maybe that can happen (by OTAs). I’m hopeful, yeah. I know it sounds odd, but I’m not demanding an answer on that. I’m not. The question, to me, is Cody Allen Jersey , is he ready? I hope he’s there, but we’ll see.”

The Young3 will be held on Thursdays in 10 cities where the BIG3 will play on Friday nights. It’s the second season for the 3-on-3 league of former NBA players co-founded by entertainer Ice Cube.

The initiative Denard Span Jersey , announced Tuesday, was developed through the league’s partnership with Adidas David Ortiz Jersey , which will become the league’s official outfitter this season. Together they also will invest in the improvement of community courts with the goal of growing the popularity of 3-on-3 basketball, which will debut in the Olympics in 2020.

Former NBA player Jerome Williams Youth J'Mon Moore Jersey , who played in the BIG3’s inaugural season, will be the Young3 president.

Clinics will be open to children ages 7-14 and tournaments will be held in four age groups: 9U Matt Kemp Jersey , 11U, 12U and 14U. They will follow most of the BIG3’s rules Chris Owings Jersey , including the use of the league’s 4-point shot.

The season begins June 22 in Houston.

The 19-year-old was invited out for lunch with Sabres star Jack Eichel.

”It’s definitely something pretty cool for a kid like me,” Mittelstadt said. ”It’s good to know he’s excited I’m here and he’s interested in getting to know me.”

If the 21-year-old Eichel is the undisputed face of the Sabres, Mittelstadt is being counted upon to be a valuable addition in the struggling franchise’s bid to rebuild with youth. He was selected with the No. 8 pick in the draft last year, and signed with Buffalo a little more than a week after the playmaking center completed his freshman season at the University of Minnesota.

Mittelstadt is scheduled to join the Sabres for practice on Wednesday and expected to make his NHL debut the following day Authentic Josh Allen Jersey , when Buffalo hosts the Detroit Red Wings in a game between two teams already eliminated from playoff contention.

The Sabres have six games left, and are in jeopardy of finishing last in the overall standings for the third time in five years.

Mittelstadt was mostly unfamiliar with the Sabres’ past woes while growing up a Wild fan in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

Over the past year, he’s become more familiar with the focus being placed on the team’s youngsters to restore winning to a team that’s not made the playoffs in seven years.

”I think I can feel the struggle a little bit Randy Johnson Jersey ,” Mittelstadt said. ”And obviously, there’s a big emphasis being put on the young guys to turn it around here.”

Mittelstadt had 11 goals and 19 assists in 34 games and was selected to the Big Ten all-freshmen team this year.

The Golden Gophers’ season ended last week, when they were on the wrong end of numerous scenarios in being eliminated from competing in the NCAA Tournament.

Mittelstadt took a few days to weigh his options before electing to turn pro last weekend. He said Minnesota coach Don Lucia’s decision to step down after 19 seasons had little influence on his decision.

”I wanted to make sure the decision I came to that I’m both feet in,” he said. ”And it came up over and over again that both my feet were into go pro.”

Buffalo has become a familiar setting for Mittelstadt. He attended the NHL pre-draft rookie combine in the city last spring.

He made yet a bigger splash in representing the bronze-medal-winning United States team at the World Junior hockey championship Cheap Justin Jones Jersey , which was held in Buffalo three months ago. Mittelstadt was selected as the 10-nation tournament’s MVP after finishing tied for first in scoring with 11 points (four goals, seven assists).

The inkling of one day playing for the Sabres in the same arena briefly crossed Mittelstadt’s mind during the world juniors, though he was more focused on representing the U.S. and returning to Minnesota.

”Obviously, things didn’t turn out the way we wanted them to this year Cheap Logan Cooke Jersey ,” Mittelstadt said of the Gophers’ season ending.

”But when the time came and I had some time to sit down and think and talk with my family, I think this was the right decision.”

By adding Mittelstadt, the Sabres demoted forward Justin Bailey to Rochester.

The NHL Awards will be held Wednesday, June 20, at The Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, also the 2016 venue.

”Las Vegas has been a tremendous host to the NHL Awards and we are thrilled to be coming back to the city for a ninth time this summer and Jim Rice Jersey , for a second time, to the Hard Rock,” Bettman said. ”Our players, coaches and fans look forward to coming to Las Vegas each June to honor the award nominees and winners.”

Additionally Caleb Joseph Jersey , the NHL and Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) announced a multi-year partnership extension, making this the 10th year of a partnership between Las Vegas and the NHL, and the ninth time the league will honor its hockey players in Las Vegas.

And for the first time since the awards have been held in Las Vegas, local fans may see members of their home team. Golden Knights coach Gerard Gallant is the frontrunner for the Jack Adams Award Devin Mesoraco Jersey , honoring the league’s top coach, while general manager George McPhee is a favorite to win the NHL GM of the Year.

”The bond that developed so intensely and so quickly between the team and the city of Las Vegas, I don’t think anybody could have anticipated,” Bettman said. ”We knew it would be successful Authentic Leighton Vander Esch Jersey , but that it happened so fast, maybe it was in the face of the (Oct. 1) tragedy and the team trying to help heal and unify. Maybe it’s the fact that Las Vegas is proud that this franchise has been born here and that its roots will always be here from the beginning.”

Finalists for each award will be announced daily, beginning Tuesday, April 17.

Next Josh Rosen Jersey Cardinals , they get the physicality of Dustin Byfuglien and the Winnipeg Jets .

There’s no easy test this time of year.

”They’ve got size. They’ve got skill. They’ve got speed,” forward Austin Watson said Sunday night after Nashville beat the Avalanche 5-0 in Game 6 to clinch the series. ”Get our rest and get prepared.”

Nashville looks every bit like the team that went to the Stanley Cup Final a season ago and won the Presidents’ Trophy this season. The Predators are hitting their stride heading into the Winnipeg series. They had 11 forwards notch at least a point in the Colorado series.

Not to be outdone, the Jets had a balanced scoring attack in closing out Minnesota, 4-1.

”We saw how the regular season went against them. They’re good hockey games,” said Watson, whose team went 3-1-1 against the Jets during the year. ”We’re excited.”

This goaltending showdown should be worth the price of admission: Pekka Rinne vs. Connor Hellebuyck.

One Vezina Trophy finalist against another. Both are coming off a solid series Customized Baltimore Ravens Jerseys , with Rinne stopping 22 shots in a 5-0 win Sunday to close out the series with Colorado. Hellebuyck had a 1.94 goals-against average in eliminating the Wild.

”Moving into the second round, I think you want to be playing very good defensive hockey against Winnipeg,” Rinne said. ”One of the better teams in the league. They have a lot of firepower, a lot of talent up front. Also, like ours, their `D’ is a big part of their game. I think it’s going to be very exciting Youth Roquan Smith Jersey , good series.”

The Western Conference semifinals feature a little bit of history: This marks only the third time the final four in the conference are all chasing after their first Stanley Cup since the introduction of conferences in `74-75, according to information provided by the league. The scenario also occurred in 2012 (the Los Angeles Kings hoisted the Cup) and in 1984 (Edmonton).

In the other semifinal matchup set to get underway, expansion Las Vegas faces San Jose.

”Anytime you win a series you’re feeling confident,” Predators forward Nick Bonino said. ”We’re going to be as confident as we can going against Winnipeg. We know how good they are.”

That’s a sentiment shared by forward Filip Forsberg, who scored four goals against Colorado.

”It was a good test for us. These guys have been flying around for six games, playing really fast hockey Youth Washington Redskins Jerseys ,” Forsberg said. ”We’ve been trying to play as fast as we can as well. If we can bring that speed into the next round that will be good.”

The Nashville defense will have its hands full with the likes of Jets forward Patrik Laine, who scored 44 goals in the regular season, and Blake Wheeler (91 points).

Still, the Predators enter on a high after posting a shutout victory in a series-ending game for the first time in franchise history. They joined Vegas and Winnipeg as the third team to accomplish the feat this postseason.

”It’s better to end it this way than hanging on at the end,” Predators coach Peter Laviolette said. ”There are other teams on the ice that are pretty good hockey teams. You see it in other series going on. It would have been great if you win (the series) 4-0 but that wasn’t the case. We had an opposition that was young, skilled and fast and they had nothing to lose Cheap Tampa Bay Buccaneers Hoodie , and they played that way. There were times in the first five games it didn’t look like it was just going happen – we were going to have to work for it.

”It was nice tonight to play a game we were comfortable with.”

The Avs take some pride in knowing they gave the Predators fits at times.

”We made them fight for it,” Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog said.

Exactly.

”The way Colorado works and battles and plays the game fast, it definitely challenged us,” Predators center Colton Sissons said. ”It was a good experience for us going forward.”

He was keeping an eye on the Golden Knights even before he became president of Seattle Hockey Partners LLC, the group looking to bring an expansion NHL franchise to the Pacific Northwest. Once he took charge of Seattle’s efforts , Leiweke’s interest intensified, just as Vegas began its run to the upcoming Stanley Cup Final.

”They’re playing the game with great joy and they’re having fun and it’s just inspirational to watch,” Leiweke said. ”We’re absolutely loving it and living vicariously through them.”

The Golden Knights’ success in their inaugural season has been unprecedented as Vegas prepares for Game 1 on Monday night against the Washington Capitals. It’s also seemed to have heightened the expectations for the next wave of NHL expansion.

Seattle is on deck. If the NHL awards the city a franchise Saquon Barkley Jersey Giants , it could be on the ice as early as the 2020 season. It would require a $650 million expansion fee and a renovated arena. There’s also talk of future growth, with Houston mentioned regularly as a possible destination for the league.

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman has met with new Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta, who is certainly more open to acquiring an NHL franchise for Houston than former owner Les Alexander. Seattle is certainly further ahead in the process by showing interest, but Houston has the arena and a potential owner already in place for the near future.

For now all the focus is on what’s happening in Seattle. And if Leiweke is feeling any additional pressure for his potential franchise given Vegas’ success on and off the ice, he’s not showing it.

”Well, to tell you the truth Rashaan Evans Jersey Titans , I guess someone could interpret it that way that there’s all of a sudden this unusual pressure on us but in fact all they’re doing is helping us,” Leiweke said. ”They’re showing us how successful this league could be, the brilliance of the game, they’re showing us what happens when a team comes together and plays inspired hockey. We don’t at all see it as anything other than just a great thing for the National Hockey League. Those that come before us will set the table for us. When I think about what they’ve done my endorphins go off and I have such admiration and we’re truly inspired by it.”

The indications about six weeks ago, when Leiweke was hired, led those involved in the expansion process to believe some type of conditional approval would be granted by the NHL Board of Governors during their June meeting Richard Rodgers Jersey Eagles , to be followed by full approval in September. The staggered approach was to make certain construction on the arena would begin in late October as scheduled.

That has changed. Bettman told The Associated Press this week that the Seattle expansion won’t be formally addressed next month.

”What we have said to the people – David Bonderman’s group – is we’re on your timetable. There’s information that needs to be gathered after information is submitted. We have to finish doing our due diligence and our homework. We need to have the timetable understanding as to when the building’s going to get done. We can move as fast or as slowly as you want. There’s no rush,” Bettman told the AP. ”We’re in the middle of the process. They’re doing their homework, and they’re proceeding on two fronts because they’ve got to renovate a building and they’ve got to pursue the team and they’re doing both very nicely. They’re working with the city, they hired Tod Leiweke.

”Is it going to be on the June agenda? No. After that, could it be September? Could it be the annual meeting in December? It’s possible.”

Leiweke was hoping to have a true rooting interest in the finals, but the Tampa Bay Lightning were ousted in the Eastern Conference finals by the Capitals. Leiweke was the CEO of the Lightning from 2010-15 and was part of the group that turned around the organization Youth Mike Gesicki Jersey , both with its on-ice success and in the stands, rejuvenating a fan base that had slumped following Tampa Bay’s title run in 2004.

The experience in Tampa Bay gave Leiweke an understanding of what it’ll take for Seattle to have a successful franchise. And while it may not be on par with what Vegas is accomplishing, Leiweke sees no reason why Seattle won’t have a chance to be a contender from the start.

”I won’t be foolish enough to say we’re going to make it to the Stanley Cup (Final) in our first year but I believe that we can absolutely build a team that is long-term competitive here,” Leiweke said. ”So when we think about this we don’t say look, we’re resetting a goal and our goal is to make the Stanley Cup in year one. But our goal is to replicate a good part of what they’ve done by building an incredibly competitive program where those players are proud to pull on that sweater.”

Maybe it’s the sign of a festering feud with the Celtics up 2-0 as the series shifts to Milwaukee. Perhaps it’s a case of Bluegrass State bragging rights between Bledsoe, who played at Kentucky, and Rozier, who played at Louisville, though they never faced each other in college.

Or it could be just a case of good-natured gamesmanship between two competitors.

Through two games Youth Kolton Miller Jersey , it is advantage Rozier with Game 3 coming up Friday night.

He had 23 points in Game 2 on 8-of-14 shooting, including 3 of 5 from the 3-point line, to match his postseason career scoring high set in Game 1. Rozier is shooting 7 of 16 from beyond the arc so far this series.

So much for the Celtics being at a disadvantage at the point without Kyrie Irving, who is out for the playoffs following knee surgery.

”We’ve talked about his competitiveness, his athleticism and his work ethic being at the highest level. That usually lends to good players improving quickly,” coach Brad Stevens said about Rozier.

Irving’s absence seemed to tilt the point guard matchup toward the Bucks, especially with Bledsoe playing well at the end of the year. Traded from Phoenix earlier in the season Youth Pernell McPhee Jersey , Bledsoe was eager for his first taste of the postseason since 2013, when he was with the Clippers.

Bledsoe is averaging 10.5 points against Boston, but the offense has been plagued in part by turnovers. He fouled out in Game 1.

”My offense will come. I’m not worried about that. I’m just worried about playing great defense and helping my teammates while I’m out there,” Bledsoe said after practice Thursday.

The bulletin-board material between the ball-handlers has become just as engrossing a story line.

”I ain’t got no bad blood with nobody,” Rozier said in Boston. ”I’m not caught up in that. I’m worried about Celtics and Bucks and how can I help my team get past the first round.”

Except that Rozier may have triggered this made-for-social media spat by calling the Bucks guard ”Drew Bledsoe” after Game 1 on Sunday. Drew Bledsoe is the former quarterback of the New England Patriots.

”Yeah I made a huge mistake,” Rozier said with a chuckle. ”But it is what it is now.”

After Game 2 on Tuesday, Bledsoe was asked about Rozier.

”Who? I don’t even know who that is Youth Orlando Brown Jr. Jersey ,” Bledsoe responded, adding an expletive.

Bledsoe struck a similar tone after practice on Thursday. When asked about Rozier by name, Bledsoe responded: ”Who?”

”I’m focused on this series, man, between Milwaukee and Boston right now. I’m just trying to help the team win,” Bledsoe said. ”That’s what point guards do.”

Playing in front of a home crowd might help get the Bucks going. This is the last postseason for the franchise in the Bradley Center, with a new arena next door scheduled to open the in the fall.

Bucks coach Joe Prunty said he hadn’t spoken to Bledsoe about his comments.

”I think there’s a lot of talking that takes place Anthony Miller Jersey Bears ,” he added. ”What I’m more concerned about is what we do on the basketball court and how we play.”

Now it’s time for Rozier to show if he can be just as effective in the playoffs on the road.

”Down 0-2, going back to their place where you know they’re going to come out aggressive,” Rozier said. ”We’re coming out, we’re still going to be aggressive and we’re coming in to win.”

Braun is expected to rejoin the first-place Brewers on Thursday when they begin a four-game series at Miller Park against St. Louis.

The Brewers planned to play without Braun on Wednesday. Turns out Cheap Vinny Curry Jersey , they didn’t have to.

The finale of Milwaukee’s three-game series against Pittsburgh was postponed by heavy downpours at PNC Park that turned hallways leading from the dugouts to the clubhouses into raging rivers.

A makeup date was not immediately announced.

Officials delayed the scheduled 7:05 p.m. start Wednesday as showers loomed. Groundskeepers took the tarp off around 8 p.m., but quickly put it back in place after another rain band moved in. The game was called after a delay of 2 hours, 1 minute.

This is the second time this season the Pirates have been forced to postpone a home game due to inclement weather. It was the 39th postponement in the majors this year Youth P.J. Hall Jersey , matching the total from all of last season.

The Brewers are scheduled to visit PNC Park twice more this season. The teams do have a common day off on Sept. 20 right before the Brewers begin a three-game set in Pittsburgh.

Chad Kuhl, Pittsburgh’s scheduled starter on Wednesday, will instead get the nod when the Pirates begin a four-game series against Arizona on Thursday.

There was no immediate word on if the Brewers would alter their rotation against St. Louis. Brent Suter was scheduled to start Wednesday against the Pirates Youth Buffalo Bills Jerseys , with Junior Guerra slated to take the hill on Thursday.

Brewers bullpen catcher Marcus Hanel did his best to have a little bit of fun in the monsoon. He did a series of belly flops on the tarp shortly after the game was called.

By then, Braun was already on the West Coast to have cryotherapy on his right thumb.

”It’s something that he expects from time to time, and when it starts Donte Jackson Jersey Panthers , we try to get in front of it and knock it out right away,” Brewers manager Craig Counsell said.

Counsell said it’s the fifth time Braun has had the procedure done over the last few years. The six-time All-Star is hitting just .236 with eight home runs and 31 RBIs this season and is mired in a 3-for-17 slump.

The Pirates announced Wednesday that third baseman Jung Ho Kang is dealing with discomfort in his left wrist while playing for Triple-A Indianapolis.

Kang, who is in the process of returning after missing the entire 2017 season following his arrest on DUI charges in South Korea Patriots Elite Jerseys , is considered ”day to day.”

The team also placed outfielder Corey Dickerson on the Family Medical Emergency List and recalled utility player Adam Frazier from Triple-A Indianapolis. The team offered no details on the reason for Dickerson’s departure, but he will be away from the club for at least three days.

The Nashville forward wound up with not only the first playoff goal of his career but the winner with 1:09 left as the Predators held off the Colorado Avalanche 5-4 Saturday for a 2-0 lead in their first-round Western Conference series.

Hartman’s goal gave the Predators a 5-3 lead until Alexander Kerfoot pulled Colorado to 5-4 with 35.8 seconds left. But the Avalanche couldn’t get another puck past goalie Pekka Rinne.

”I knew he made a shot toward the net Youth Josh Sweat Jersey , and I just wanted to be there in case he missed the net to beat out the icing,” Hartman said. ”Sometimes those pucks don’t bounce far enough to the front of the net, luckily it did. Those are the ones you get nervous about, the ones that are laying right there. You just want to make sure you put it in.”

The Presidents’ Trophy winners gave up a goal on Colorado’s first shot for a second straight game. Yet the Predators rallied again to take their first 2-0 lead when starting a best-of-seven series in their own building.

”It was nice to start here for sure in front of our fans, and it was nice to get the job done Cheap Customized Cincinnati Bengals Jerseys ,” Nashville coach Peter Laviolette said. ”We did what we’re supposed to do. Now we got to go on the road and do what I said, you got to win some road games along the way too.”

Kevin Fiala had a goal and an assist, and Viktor Arvidsson, Ryan Johansen and Austin Watson scored a goal apiece. P.K. Subban and Mattias Ekholm each had two assists for Nashville, which has won 12 straight over the Avalanche.

”It’s fun playing in this building Youth Preston Brown Jersey ,” Watson said. ”It’s tough to come in here as an opposing team. For us to be able to hold up our end of the bargain and get the two wins is great.”

Rinne made 26 saves for the win.

Nathan MacKinnon had a goal and an assist, and Gabriel Bourque and Gabriel Landeskog each added a goal for Colorado.

Game 3 is Monday night in Denver.

”We’re going to go put our best foot forward,” Colorado coach Jared Bednar said. ”To me, if we would clean up a couple of mistakes, we win that hockey game. That’s the way I look at it. We’re certainly capable of doing it.”

Nashville struggled early yet again despite having country star Brad Paisley singing the national anthem and wrestler Jeff Jarrett revving up the fans before the game.

Bourque put Colorado up 1-0 on the Avs’ first shot 2:34 into the game after a turnover in the defensive zone by Hartman.

The Avalanche scratched rookie defenseman Samuel Girard with an upper-body injury and replaced him with Duncan Siemens after coming into the series with defenseman Erik Johnson already missing with a knee injury. The corps thinned when Tyson Barrie was hit in the face by a puck that deflected off goalie Jonathan Bernier’s stick Youth B.J. Hill Jersey , but he returned later in the period.

Fiala tied it with 3 seconds left on Nashville’s first power play a minute into the second period. Fiala beat Bernier with a snap shot from the inside edge of the left circle, and that seemed to get the Predators going.

The Predators kept Colorado from taking a shot until Nathan MacKinnon put one on net at 9:48, and Rinne smothered that.

Arvidsson gave the Predators a 2-1 lead, skating up the right side and blasted a slap shot that went under Bernier’s right arm for an unassisted goal. In a 4-on-4 situation, Predators defenseman P.K. Subban blocked a shot by Barrie. Johansen got the puck on a breakaway and beat Bernier with a backhander.

MacKinnon pulled the Avs within 3-2 just 36 seconds later with his first goal this postseason.

Watson scored off a Colorado turnover in the Predators’ offensive zone in the third period for a 4-2 lead. But Nashville gave the Avalanche 1:46 of a 5-on-3 to rally Youth Tracy Walker Jersey , and MacKinnon’s shot deflected off Landeskog to pull Colorado within 4-3. The Predators killed the rest of the penalty, and Rinne made a big pad save on Sven Andrighetto just after the advantage ended.

NOTES: The Predators have started series twice before 2-0 and won both series, including last spring when they swept Chicago in the first round. … Nashville went 37-2-4 when leading after two periods in the regular season. … Bednar said Girard is day to day. … Colorado went 2-26-4 when trailing after two periods in the regular season.

Wentz led them to a division title. Nick Foles is taking them to the Super Bowl.

Losing Wentz in Week 14 after the second-year quarterback had an MVP-caliber season was supposed to be a crippling blow to a team that had already lost nine-time Pro Bowl left tackle Jason Peters, playmaking linebacker Jordan Hicks, versatile returner/running back Darren Sproles and special teams ace Chris Maragos.

But the Eagles are one victory away from the franchise’s first NFL title since 1960 thanks to key contributions from several backups.

”It’s the next-man-up mentality Carlton Davis Jersey Elite ,” coach Doug Pederson said Monday. ”It also means that you have some veteran players that keep things together, and good coaching staffs. I think it’s a tribute to the players and everyone involved that they can keep things going even through that adversity.”

Foles led the way with a spectacular performance in a 38-7 victory over the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC championship game . He threw for 352 yards and three touchdowns while joining Joe Montana as the only quarterbacks in NFL history to complete 75 percent of their passes in consecutive playoff games.

”We lean on each other and we play for each other and that’s what’s special about this team,” Foles said. ”There’s never going to be a time when we’re going to turn on each other. We’re always going to be there to support each other and that’s the beautiful thing about the Philadelphia Eagles.”

Even team owner Jeffery Lurie couldn’t have predicted this success.

”It surprised me because of all the injuries Cheap Cleveland Browns Hoodie ,” Lurie said. ”The resiliency among this group is phenomenal.”

Sproles, one of the best returners in league history and a major part of the offense, tore his left ACL and broke his right forearm on the same play against the Giants in the home opener on Sept. 24.

The team signed Kenjon Barner to replace him on punts and rookie Corey Clement has stepped up to fill Sproles’ role as a third down specialist.

Maragos tore his right PCL at Carolina on Oct. 12. The unit struggled without him until Bryan Braman re-signed with the team in December.

Peters tore his right ACL and MCL in a Monday night game against the Redskins on Oct. 23. Halapoulivaati Vaitai replaced him in the starting lineup and has improved with more playing time.

Vaitai gained valuable experience as a rookie last year filling in for Pro Bowl right tackle Lane Johnson when he was suspended 10 games.

”Had a lot of confidence in (Vaitai) Cheap Customized Tennessee Titans Jerseys ,” Pederson said. ”These are obviously the things we’ve seen in him: his maturity, his growth as a left tackle.”

Hicks ruptured his right Achilles in the same game Peters went down. It was a big loss because Hicks calls the defensive signals and is a playmaker. He has seven interceptions and five fumble recoveries in 31 games.

Joe Walker and Najee Goode replaced him initially before the Eagles signed former Ravens starter Dannell Ellerbe to take his spot. Ellerbe missed the victory over Minnesota because of a hamstring injury and Goode was beat on a touchdown pass in the first quarter.

”I think that’s what makes it more special with these guys,” Pederson said. ”You start losing some of your top players to injury. You just kind of see the fight in the guys and the resiliency in the guys. The guys just keep battling. For us to believe in one another and to be now in this spot Cheap Preston Brown Jersey , I’m just so happy for those guys, and hat’s off to them.”
