Celebrity stylist Martino Cartier cut an Eastern European model's neck with a pair of scissors during a dangerously fast haircut scarring her, a new $5 million lawsuit alleges.
Cartier was cutting Michelle Kalinkina's hair during a public demonstration at the Jacob Javits Convention Center on March 7.
Cartier "had a duty to perform the haircut demonstration in a safe, careful, and prudent manner so as to avoid any harm to (Kalinkina)," the suit says.
But during the demo, Cartier was "careless, negligent and reckless while in the course of cutting (Kalinkina's) hair," the suit, filed Wednesday in Manhattan federal court, claims.
