Young bowler Paulo Hernandes and his brother Patrick Hernandez were expected to achieve the best achievement in the tournament, the Indonesian bowling team coach said.

"I am upbeat over the best achievement target in the tournament," Paolo said.

The 9th ASEAN School Games is scheduled to be held in Singapore from July 13-21.

WASHINGTON, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he has ordered to step up an "extreme vetting program", after a terrorist attack in New York city killed eight people.

"I have just ordered Homeland Security to step up our already Extreme Vetting Program. Being politically correct is fine, but not for this!" Trump said in a tweet, without specifying which vetting program he was referring to

He has repeatedly called for tighter border control and visa policies to keep out those deemed dangerous to U.S. national security.

White House Chief of Staff John Kelly described extreme vetting during a media interview on Monday, saying "extreme vetting is, we simply interview people and have to satisfy ourselves that the person we are talking to is indeed the person who they claim."

"If we can't verify, I don't think we should let them into the country," Kelly said.

The Trump administration has rolled out multiple travel bans against Muslim-majority countries and in one case against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Venezuela, but faced strong backlash within the country, as activists claim such bans are discriminative measures targeting a specific religion.

BEIJING, June 19 (Xinhua) -- Chinese traditionally eat "zongzi" (sweet, glutinous rice dumplings) during the Duanwu (Dragon Boat) Festival, which falls on June 20 this year.

However, this year, a French chef and his family have created a sweet alternative: Ice cream.

On Saturday, Gerard Taurin, a pastry chef from Normandy, will offer his latest creation at Beijing Galeries Lafayette. Most of his ice cream is made with unusual, but very Chinese, ingredients, such as jasmine, goji berries, ginger and Sichuan peppers.

"Ice cream actually comes from China," says Taurin, who believes Italian explorer Marco Polo introduced Europe to ice cream 700 years ago.

It is said he was inspired by the Chinese method of adding herbs and fruit to water. During the Yuan Dynasty, the 13th Century, the Chinese would leave flavored water outside overnight in the cold so it would freeze, and then would pour ewe milk over it.

Taurin's selection comprises 10 flavors, including black sesame, tapioca pearl, hawthorn fruit, millet, jujube, cinnamon and eucalyptus. His ingredients are inspired by his travels to Beijing, Hebei, Shanxi and Sichuan provinces this year.

He has shared his ice cream with people on the Great Wall, in the Forbidden City and in Beijing's hutong alleyways in recent months. Now the 2003 Ice Cream World Champion has plans for a book and a film.

On June 18, he and wife Veronica Bustamante made an Eiffel Tower ice sculpture at Lafayette to celebrate the opening of the Lafayette Gourmet in Beijing.

Aaron Ramsey's header smoothed the way for Arsenal's 1-0 triumph on the road over Dortmund at outsold Signal Iduna Park, in group F of Champions League on Wednesday.

Both teams staged slow and unexciting first half whereas the second half turned into a fast paced and high intensity encounter. Ramsey's opener ensured that both sides got their offenses going.

The Gunners had a ball possession of 53 percent during the first half. Nonetheless, it were the home side that created the only noteworthy opportunity through Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
