He specifically cited titles like Skyrim, The Legend of Zelda as well as Mario Bros. as just few of his favorites. While the Elden Ring score might be quite overwhelming for him to handle sometimes, it appears like he's not one to turn off the in-game soundtrack for too long.

Square Enix's HD-2D games have received a lot of positive attention from gamers. The games like Octopath Traveler or Triangle Strategy have really captured the attention of those who love retro partly because of their unique style of artwork.


In a new interview with 4Gamer (translated from Nintendo Everything), Triangle Strategy producer Tomoya Asano discussed the aesthetic of the graphics and how it's going to be implemented into future games for the company. In response to the interviewer's concern that more indie titles haven't taken on the same design, Asano revealed the reason is that it's a bit expensive!


"It's definitely worth noting that it's priced higher than you think. In that respect, it's an excellent fit to the games that are coming out of Square Enix buy D2R ladder items. There might not be much to gain from other companies copying it," Asano told 4gamer.Fortunately this isn't stopping Square Enix from releasing more games with this type of design.
