"Can BOTOX Make Me Look Younger?"

Patients come to our Lenexa practice to get aesthetic treatments. We asked Dr. Margolin for his advice to patients who may have unrealistic expectations about aesthetic treatment. Dr. Margolin told us that he is an M.D. and not a magician. I get that people want to look their very best. Everyone wants to feel great. BOTOX may temporarily reduce lines and wrinkles, but these treatments cannot make people look as good or famous as they did in college.

What can Aesthetic injectable treatments do?

Dr. Margolin describes aging skin as a piece of paper. The paper will have permanent wrinkles if it is folded in different ways over decades. This is what happens in our skin. By temporarily reducing wrinkles and filling certain areas, injectable treatments such as JUVEDERM and BOTOX can reduce the signs of aging.

What is BOTOX, and how can it help you?

Although this treatment can reduce the appearance of wrinkles, it is not as dramatic than plastic surgery. BOTOX is a treatment that can be used to reduce the appearance of forehead lines or eyebrow creases. BOTOX reduces the appearance and texture of lines, as well as preventing them from creasing your skin. BOTOX can't treat wrinkles and lines caused due to loss of facial fullness. JUVEDERM, a dermal injectable that fills in the gaps between your skin and the rest of the body, is used to treat these issues.

What is JUVEDERM and how can it help you?

Difference between JUVEDERM AND BOTOX

What's the difference in Juvederm and BOTOX injections? Both therapies are aimed at the same outcome, but have different active components. These injections are administered by a doctor to the patient. or an experienced medical esthetician. So you can make the best informed decision, learn about each distinction

BOTOX

BOTOX is a noninvasive method of treating wrinkles. It's however made from different ingredients. BOTOX injections can relax and soften wrinkles. BOTOX is a treatment that smoothens lines and softens the appearance of wrinkles. It can be used in these ways:

Vertical lines between eyebrows (also called "glabellar lines")

Wrinkles around eyes (crow's foot)

The forehead wrinkles

Juvederm

Juvederm does not require any surgery and is non-invasive. Each treatment contains a gel containing hyaluronic to "fill" any visible wrinkles. Different types of volumizing solutions are available to adults in various formulations. They can be used to treat different types of wrinkles.

What You Can Expect from BOTOX & Juvederm Treatments

These procedures, Juvederm as well as BOTOX, take very little time and are very effective. Due to the amount of treatments required, larger areas may need more.

How long each treatment can last

Both treatments are effective, but Juvederm has a faster recovery time and is considered more long-lasting. BOTOX is effective for a few days but fades after a few weeks. You can maintain your results by receiving additional treatments. The manufacturer may give you an indication that results from Juvederm injections might be visible immediately.

BOTOX injections (like Juvederm) are quick and painless. The greater the area of skin that needs to be treated, you'll need more injections. Multiple injections can take a little longer to complete. To see results from BOTOX treatments, it can take up 24 to 48 hour.

The results of treatments

Here are some key distinctions between the outcomes of each therapy. Juvederm injections might have immediate effects. One to two years is the predicted time period for which Juvederm injections can have an effect, but results will vary from person-to-person.
