"Can BOTOX Make Me Look Younger?"

Patients come to our Lenexa practice to get aesthetic treatments. We asked Dr. Margolin what advice he would give to patients with unrealistic expectations regarding aesthetic treatments. Dr. Margolin stated, "I tell potential clients the truth: I'm an M.D., not a magician." I get that people want to look their very best. Everyone wants to feel great. BOTOX is a temporary treatment for wrinkles and lines. However, these treatments won't give them the look they had in college or their favorite supermodel.

What are the Aesthetic Injectables Treatments?

Dr. Margolin compares aging skin to a piece if paper. You can fold a piece of paper in many different ways for decades and get permanent wrinkles. This is what happens with our skin. BOTOX, JUVEDERM, and other injectable treatments can temporarily reduce the signs and symptoms of aging. They relax facial muscles and fill in certain areas.

What is BOTOX and How Does It Work?

Although this treatment can reduce the appearance of wrinkles, it is not as dramatic than plastic surgery. BOTOX may be able to help patients with forehead lines and eyebrow creases. BOTOX can soften lines and prevent them from creasing your face. BOTOX cannot reduce wrinkles and lines caused by facial hollowness loss. JUVEDERM is a dermal filler that can address those problems.

What is JUVEDERM, exactly?

Although it may seem counterintuitive, fat around the cheeks and forehead decreases with age. Our faces lose weight, our skin sags and we develop wrinkles called laugh lines.

You can restore your facial volume by injecting fillers, also known as dermal Fillers. JUVEDERM, which is made from a form of hyaluronic, adds volume and youthfulness to the cheeks. What is the difference between Juvederm or BOTOX? Both treatments have similar outcomes but the active components differ. These injections are administered by a doctor to the patient. or an expert medical aesthetician. You can learn all about these distinctions to make an informed decision

BOTOX

BOTOX is a noninvasive method of treating wrinkles. It's however made from different ingredients. BOTOX injections are an injectable neurotoxin. They relax wrinkles and smoothen facial lines. BOTOX treatments smoothen lines and soften wrinkles in the following ways

Vertical lines between eyebrows (also called "glabellar lines")

Wrinkles around your eyes (crow’s feet)

Wrinkles on forehead

Juvederm

Juvederm can be used as a non-invasive treatment, and it does not require surgical intervention. Each solution contains a gel made of hyaluronic acids to fill in the wrinkles below the skin. There are many types of volumizing products available for adults, and they come in different formulations to address various kinds of wrinkles.

What to Expect From BOTOX and Juvederm Treatments

Both Juvederm or BOTOX treatments take just a few minutes and are extremely efficient. Due to the amount of treatments required, larger areas may need more.

How long each treatment will last

While both treatments are effective, Juvederm is faster and lasts for longer. BOTOX only works for a few days. However, the effects last for several months. You can maintain your results by receiving additional treatments. According to the manufacturer, Juvederm filler injections can be seen immediately.

BOTOX injections, such as Juvederm®, are painless and only take a few moments to complete. The larger the area that you require, the more injectables you will need. Multiple injections may take slightly longer to complete. To see results from BOTOX treatments, it can take up 24 to 48 hour.

The Results of Treatments

Here are some key differences between each therapy's outcomes. Juvederm injections are often visible immediately. Although one-to two years is predicted for the time when one's Juvederm injectables will have an effect on one's body, individual results can differ. There may be significant differences in the long-term results between different formulations. BOTOX treatments are fast but should be administered every four to six months.
