Somebody once wrote me, asking, “There are certainly a lot of teachers and students of A Course in Miracles out there, but there should be something that you've hooked into, or caught onto? Something that triggered a transformation or perhaps a major healing. So, what was it?”

“Trust,” I said.

Think of your daily life as it is apparently nowadays in terms of the story. How can we answer the question; “Who do I trust? Where do I do believe my safety lies? How will I be sustained? Who's my source?” So once we speak about the last stage to the awakening being pure trust, it's simply about disengaging and withdrawing our faith and rely upon most of these made-up concepts, beliefs and ideas in the world. It's kind of like making a big house of cards, stacking on a single card after the other. Then the good wind occurs and poof, it's just blown over. It can't even stand a little gust of wind. It's so frail. It's so temporary. It's so transitory; It was this sense of placing rely upon the Spirit and withdrawing rely upon everything else; all those issues that were identified and learned as worldly accomplishments.

Why should we rely upon those? Have they ever brought us lasting peace and happiness? Are they really trustworthy?It certainly comes right down to the essence of who is my brother? Could it be Spirit or matter? Could it be Spirit or form? Furthermore how many of us have tried trusting people? Has anybody tried any particular one?So you are asking the question, “When someone dies or is apparently dying of starvation, what does that say about their mind?” Where all of this is heading is always to the awareness that everything is mental. What this awakening can tell you is that everything is mental and that everything is a hallucination. This is a world of ideas and what we call manifest reality, is not reality at all. There is no distinction between thought and form. Jesus has to build his whole workbook in A Course In Miracles on making the text between thought and form. a course in miracles authors His lessons begin with, “Nothing I see means anything,” (W-1) and, “I have given everything I see all this is it's for me.” (W-2) Then, He works his way around number four, “These thoughts don't mean anything&rdquo ;.Now, He's discussing thoughts. First He's discussing perception, then about our thoughts, then He comes home with lessons 5,6,7,8,9 ... perception, perception, perception, perception, perception ... and then number 10, “My thoughts don't mean anything.” You can see he's trying to melt everything together and show the last veil or stage of awakening, that will be trust.

The Holy Spirit uses time and energy to teach us there's no such thing as time, to take us back to that particular timeless moment that is the gateway to eternity. He uses symbols to teach us that they are all illusions and that they are all equally meaningless. That's the way of operation of Holy Spirit. The Spirit has to utilize your brain to loosen the attachments from the investment in all kinds of things. What sort of things can you invest in, nowadays?
