Madden also has its unique terms of speech from MMOgrfy's blog

In 2020, an enthralling tweet campaign in the Twitterverse urged the league's decision to Madden 22 coins introduce EA as its partner -- #NFLDropEA. But despite the outrage from social media, which also involved coordinated review-bombing of games' Metacritic website, Madden 21 sales were significantly higher. The Madden 22 of this year Madden 22 did well, too, and the Madden series remains the top-selling ever in the history of sports.

The critics are part of a vocal minority, however, one whose task is to be very vocal. I'm talking about YouTubers who make their living by streaming and recording themselves in a game that they claim they hate.

The wide range of YouTubers' focus areas reveals how vast the game these days. There are YouTubers like Belton who post videos of their own games and there's a variety of YouTubers uploading tips and tricks, then there are YouTubers who dedicate themselves to dunking on Madden.

In the fall of last year, a channel named SOFTDRINKTV uploaded a 14-minute film titled "The worst Madden of All Time," then a week later by a video of 19 minutes titled "Madden NFL 22 isn't Good - Review." They returned to an identical well last week with a new video entitled "Everything Wrong with Madden NFL 22 (in 16 minutes)." The narration of the video begins memorably or even a bit dramatically: "This is the kind of game that will make you want to stick a a thumbtack in your eyeballs. When you play Madden 22 and you're a victim, the great gift of life turns into a curse. You will no longer want to be alive. It causes existential dread."

Like all subcultures, Madden also has its unique terms of speech. Specific throws tend to be "lasers" (self-explanatory). Most throws are a "dot" which means you'll receive "dotted up" -- which in turn evolved from "dart" (less explanatory). Similarly, strong defensive coverage was once "bagged," though recently, I've heard YouTubers saying "booked." This is the only one that makes sense I can think of is "mossing" somebody as in when the receiver jumps over a corner to buy Madden nfl 22 coins snatch the ball from the air, influenced to Randy Moss.
