In 2020, California Pavilion hosted Royal Business Bank, Sacramento MBDA Export Center, Port of Oakland, MEBO International, Fresno EDC and other California companies. During the opening ceremony, representatives from the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development, Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf, San Francisco Mayor’s Office of International Trade and Commerce, U.S.-China relations champion Florence Fang, City of Los Angeles, Alameda County, Sacramento MBDA Export Center, Port of Oakland, and Fresno EDC provided video remarks emphasizing the importance of trade between California and China.
In 2019, the Bay Area Council hosted the 775 square-foot California Pavilion! 23 California-based companies, including Baxco Pharmaceutical; Impossible Foods; Visit California; and Berkeley SkyDeck, represented their products and services at the California Pavilion. The pavilion attracted more than 40,000 Chinese buyers, prominent Chinese and American government officials (Assemblymember Phil Ting, U.S. Consul General Sean Stein, Alameda County Supervisor Keith Carson) and media outlets.
