A passenger has died after a car slammed into a parked trailer Monday morning in the south Las Vegas valley, police confirm.Semi Trailer

The crash was reported around 4:45 a.m. at Robindale Road near Duneville Street, just east of Jones Boulevard, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police reported.In a statement, LVMPD said they learned a 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 was heading east on Robindale when it went off the roadway and hit the back of a parked semi trailer.

The department's Traffic Bureau said on Twitter authorities suspect the driver of the car was impaired, and the passenger was "fighting to live."

Police said the passenger, identified as a 21-year-old man from State College, Pennsylvania, died from his injuries at UMC. The driver, identified as 21-year-old Eunbi Kim, suffered substantial injuries. She was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol, according to LVMPD.
