BEIJING, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- A red moon will grace the sky in most parts of China for over an hour during a total lunar eclipse on Wednesday night, according to the Beijing Planetarium.
The lunar eclipse, which is expected to begin at 7:48 p.m., will last for about five hours. As the moon passes into Earth's shadow, it will exhibit a reddish tinge as the sunlight is refracted while shining through Earth's atmosphere.
The red moon is expected to be visible between 8:51 p.m. and 10:08 p.m., lasting about one hour and 17 minutes.
The moon will also appear bigger as its orbit is near its closest point to Earth.
The last time a complete lunar eclipse occurred was September 28, 2015. The next lunar eclipse will happen on July 28.

INCHEON, South Korea, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- Liu Peng, chef de mission of the Chinese delegation for Incheon Asian Games, told media Thursday that China have set target on topping the medals and gold medal tables of the 17th Asian Games, which to start here on Friday.
"We've been the leaders on both medals and gold medal tables of Asian Games for nine straight editions," said Liu at the flag rising and welcome ceremony held at the athletes' village. "Of course we want to keep on winning this time."
Sending a delegation of more than 1,300 athletes and officials, including 33 Olympic champions, Team China will participate in all but one of the 36 sports at the Sept. 19 to Oct. 4 Asiad.
"The Asian Games are not only a competition but a platform for countries and regions from all over the continent to comunicate, cooperate, exchange opinions and better understanding each other.
"Therefore, we expect more than just titles and medals and No. 1 position in the tally from our athletes, but hope them to to show fighting spirit and sportsmanship at the games," added Liu.
At the last Asiad in Guangzhou four years ago, China collected 199 golds for a total of 416 medals, to 232 for South Korea and 216 for Japan.
However, Liu again stressed on the performance of the "Big Ball" (soccer, basketball and volleyball), saying that the results of those teams will carry great significance.
"It's an uphill battle for our three 'Big Ball' teams in Incheon," he said. "I hope they see it as both a test and a chance to accumulate experience."
HELSINKI, June 12 (Xinhua) -- Finland's three-party coalition is doomed to fall apart as the ruling parties' leaders failed to find a common ground on Monday and politicians were prepared for talks to form a new government.
The centrist Prime Minister Juha Sipila said on Monday afternoon that cooperation with the Finns Party as a coalition partner ended, as the "ideological distance" had become too wide following the election of hardliner Jussi Halla-aho as the party chairman.
Sipila noted that the other coalition parties had made many compromises with the True Finns and vise versa, but the situation looked too difficult for all the parties to go ahead.
Sipila said Monday night on national TV that he would probably go to see President Sauli Niinisto on Tuesday afternoon to submit the formal resignation.
Sipila and the conservative National Coalition party leader Petteri Orpo conducted talks with Halla-aho on Monday morning, and the ideological gap was too wide to create the trust regarding decisions in future situations.
Veteran political analyst Unto Hamalainen, interviewed on Yle, formulated the situation as "the True Finns did not pass the risk analysis of the prime minister".
Halla-aho said later in social media that a key question was that Sipila was
