Donovan McNabb handles benching his way

In today's On Football, we analyze quarterback Donovan McNabb's approach to the controversy that stemmed from Coach Mike Shanahan's decision to bench him late in the Week 8 loss to Detroit.

Some national NFL television analysts have criticized McNabb for being too passive, saying he should speak out publicly against the head coach and Kyle Shanahan, Washington's offensive coordinator. But McNabb, who has encountered controversy throughout 11 plus successful seasons in the NFL, has handled himself well, many of his teammates said recently.

"He's handling it the only way you can handle it," wide receiver Santana Moss said. "The opposite way [speaking out publicly] ain't gonna get you nothing but more drama, you know?

"Just stay positive about the situation, and taking it for what it is, is the best thing to do. Everybody's gonna have their perception of what really what went on, but only you know what's really happening with your body. . You can't worry about what 'they' say about you."

Many veterans hope McNabb, who can become a free agent after the season, returns to the Redskins for the 2011 season.

"He's done the right thing. He's kept his mouth closed and gone about his business," cornerback DeAngelo Hall said. "At the end of the season, he'll have a choice too. He'll determine if he wants to be here.

"If he likes how things are going, or if he doesn't, it'll be his choice. But you go ask the guys in here if they want him back. He's our quarterback. We believe in him."

Some national analysts think McNabb should speak out publicly against his coach? Really? Which ones are those? The ones that want more crap to post? imitation van cleef and arpels four leaf clover necklace Certainly not any with any football sense or even common sense. The only possible reason you could think this is a good idea is because you want more controversy to print. This is a load of crap (as usual). He can't produce one talking head that has advocated for 5 to go public and admonish the coach.

All Reid ever does is spin the little flickering light bulb ideas in his head into some ambiguous "Unnamed Source" or "Person inside the building" or "Person with knowledge of the situation".

At any rate, I think McNabb has handled this very well and I look for a big game form him Monday night. My guess is that, instead of trading for DM5, he would have taken Clausen in round one and addressed the O line either in free agency or with later picks. So for everyone who thinks that we're in such bad shape now, based on how Clausen has performed in Carolina, believe me, it could be worse.

I think in order to win this game against the bEagles we have to stick to running the ball. Load the Torain, stick in James Davis, and if healthy give CP26 some carries. If I am not mistaken the last game CP26 played was vs. the bEagles, and we should all agree that was a differnt Portis playing. The guy was making some incredible cuts, and showed burst. He was playing soo hard, he hurt himself.

I think our key is to keep our RB's fresh, but at the same time riding the guy thats hot. Our ground game should be good this week, as our O linemen crushed the bEagles small D linemen last game. Once we get the ground game going, roll Mc5 out and have him to take advantage of an injured secondary.

As for defense. I think we should take away the pass and allow Vick to run. I don't care about him running, cause he will do it anyway. We have hard hitters on defense, and if he runs every play it will affect his throwing. They are going to take the ball up and down the field with him running, but we have to limit the points. No big plays and limit the TD's. If they score FG's, its still better than 7 points.

Also, we replica vca butterfly necklace have to do something about Shady McCoy, becuase he had a day on us last game. They have so much speed guys on offense, its hard to pick a guy. Shut down the Wr's like last game. And we should be fine. Kemo had his best game against Detroit, imo. He looks to be getting more healthy, so if he is stuffing the middle of the line we should be fine.

hessone hates, I mean HATES the 2008 draft class. Davis, Thomas, and Kelly to be more specific. His notion that Fred Davis can't play is founded on the base of his HATE of the guy. Nothing more.

There is NO f ing WAY that you can fix you fingers to type that Fred Davis can't play, hess. So what if he's dropped a pass in a game? Pretty sure that Cooley has a few fumbles and drops on his resume as well.

I don't know where your loathing comes from. Is it because Cerrato drafted those guys, or is it the order they were picked. Maybe you hate how they picked WR TE WR. maybe to you it came to represent the dysfunction with the team. don't get why you hate those guys so much.

Hessone is right (can't believe I'm saying this!), Davis has dropped passes he should have caught, period! No excuses! That's why he's not playing more, and because he's not playing more he's not motivated to work harder.

If I were him I'd watch out for Paulson. Once someone is in Shanny's dog house, heaven help him, it takes a great escape copy van cleef lucky alhambra necklace plan to get outta that prison!!! I predict Davis is traded in the offseason and Paulson becomes the No. 2 TE behind Cooley.
