Politician, musician and NFL player respectively. They have entirely different careers.
But finding dirt on Mitt Romney will not make one a more serious journalist than those who report on Rihanna.
Rihanna is more renowned and certainly more popular than Romney is.

Sometimes it is deserved, because of some of the rumors and unethical journalism in certain articles. But the public is just as interested in as much as they are into politics.
