But Short, who has been up and down since opening the season with 10th- and 11th-place finishes, made a birdie putt on No. 18 to tie Calcavecchia. Shorts 66 snapped a stretch of six straight rounds of 70 or higher. "Its been a long road for me. I was hurt for a number of years," said Short, who has long battled back issues. "I put a lot of work into it and its starting to pay off." Clampett, whose best finish was a tie for 29th in March, got stuck in the bunker on the par-4 12th and mishit his approach en route to a bogey. But when faced with a similar shot on the next hole, Clampett holed out from 40 feet for eagle. It was an encouraging start for Clampett, who shot his low round of the year. The punishing running back is 23 yards shy of 1,000 for the season, and is fourth in the league in yards from scrimmage (1,110). Calgary won the only other meeting between the teams this season by a score of 31-24 just a few weeks back on the road at Mosaic Stadium. During that Oct. 3 matchup, the Stampeders scored the only points of the first half (nine) and led 24-0 in the third quarter before taking their foot off the gas. Tate hit 16-of-29 passes for 194 yards and two scores, adding two more majors on the ground for the visitors. That was the game where Saskatchewan head coach Corey Chamblin went with his gut and inserted Seth Doege into the starting lineup at quarterback. The move backfired however, as Doege completed just three of his nine pass attempts for 28 yards and three interceptions. Tino Sunseri reappeared for the hosts and connected on all but three of his 19 passes, leading to 289 yards and a score. Sunseri also scored once on the ground in the setback. With the victory earlier this month, Calgarys lead in the all-time series with the Riders now stands at 122-89-9, taking into consideration only regular-season bouts dating back to 1946. I just went out today and picked my line and sped up my tempo a little bit and went up to it and said, Im going to knock it in." After experimenting with a stance close to the ball to get her eyes more over the putting line, shes standing farther away in a more natural position. "Even as a little kid I stood far away from the ball and took the putter inside. I just went right back to that," Thompson said. "I moved farther away and just take one look at the hole and just knock it in. Hopefully." Pak birdied the final hole for a 70 to match Thompson at 7-under 137.
