BOSTON – The Blue Jays scorching offence finished a three-game sweep of the Red Sox at Fenway Park and sits at or near the top of a number of the sports essential statistical categories. Taking his word for it, teams may not be pitching differently to Bautista but at least they now are pitching to him. Consider that in April, while Encarnacion laboured through a relatively slow opening month, Bautista walked 30 times in 122 plate appearances (24.6 per cent). In May, through to the end of Thursdays game, Bautista has walked 11 times in 94 trips to the plate (11.7 per cent). Through Thursday, the Blue Jays had won six of seven and 12 of 17. Dickey will be pushed back to Saturday when he will throw on an extra days rest. "We just decided to split up Buehrle and Dickey," said Gibbons. "Theyre our old reliable guys, kind of our innings eaters." Hendriks is 5-0 with a 1.48 ERA and a 0.801 WHIP for the Triple-A Bisons. The 25-year-old is hoping for his first period of sustained major league success. In parts of three seasons with the Twins, Hendriks was 2-13 with an ERA of 6.06. A corresponding roster move will be made before Fridays game. HOME COOKING The Jays kick off a season-high 10-game homestand on Friday. After the Athletics come in for three, the Tampa Bay Rays will check in, followed by the Kansas City Royals for a four-game series. Toronto has a bus trip series to Detroit for three games June 2-4 and then will return home for six games, three each with the St. Louis Cardinals and Minnesota Twins. For the Blue Jays, it isnt so much about capitalizing on home field advantage as it is trying to create a home field advantage. Toronto is 10-11 at Rogers Centre and 16-11 on the road. "It was a real hill to climb," said Wozniak of her recent injury trouble. "Every game will help me progress, help my game and my confidence. Im going to continue climbing to get back to the top." Down 1-5 in the first set, Wozniak made adjustments to her game and began dictating the run of play. "I stayed concentrated on every single point," said Wozniak, who started going to the net with more confidence midway through the set. "I wanted to set the pace of the game. (Dolonc) was playing well, and I was missing my shots. I held on and took it one point at a time." Wozniak won the next five games, breaking Doloncs serve twice in the process, to take a 6-5 lead. In the deciding game, Wozniak completed the comeback when Dolonc hit the net to double fault on set point. "It was a joke for me to get to 5-1," said Dolonc. "But then she started finding her game. BOSTON -- In the months leading up to a fatal double shooting, Aaron Hernandez had become increasingly convinced that people had been "testing, trying or otherwise disrespecting him" when he went to nightclubs, prosecutors said. Authorities say the former New England Patriots star followed the man and his friends, then opened fire on their car, killing two men and wounding a third. "I think I got one in the head and one in the chest," Hernandez said to a friend as they raced from the intersection where the victims were shot while they sat in their car at a stop light, prosecutors said at the former tight ends arraignment. Hernandez, already charged with killing another man last year, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to seven charges -- including two counts of first-degree murder -- in the 2012 shooting that killed Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado. The night de Abreu and Furtado were killed, Suffolk County First Assistant District Attorney Patrick Haggan said Hernandez and a friend drove from Connecticut to a Boston nightclub called Cure. They were standing at the edge of the dance floor when de Abreu accidentally bumped into Hernandez, smiled at him and did not apologize, according to prosecutors. Haggan said de Abreu and his friends did not appear to recognize Hernandez and had no idea he was upset. Hernandez became increasingly agitated and told his friend that de Abreu had deliberately bumped into him and "was trying him," Haggan said. Hernandez and his friend then went to another nightclub, where Hernandez thought he saw de Abreu and his friends come in, according to Haggan. Hernandez then told his friend he believed he was "being targeted and being disrespected," Haggan said. In fact, de Abreu and his friends had not left the other club. Haggan said Hernandez later drove around with his friend until he saw de Abreu, Furtado and others going to their car, then followed them and pulled up alongside their car at a red light. Hernandez leaned out the drivers side, said "Yo, whats up now," followed by a racial slur, then fired at least five shots into the car, killing de Abreu and Furtado, and injuring a man sitting in the back seat, Haggan said. Hernandezs attorney, Charles Rankin, objected to the description, saying the prosecutors account of the shooting was an attempt to poison the jury pool. Clerk Magistrate Gary Wilson dismissed the objection, saying it is standard procedure for prosecutors to describe evidence during arraignments in murder cases. Family members of the victims filled four rows in the courtroom. One woman sobbed loudly as Hernandez entered his not guilty pleas. De Abreu and Furtado were close friends who attended school and served in the military together in Cape Verde before coming to the United States, according to the attorney who represents their families in a $6 million civil suit against Hernandez. The two men were shot about six weeks before Hernandez signed a five-year, $40 million contract with the Patriots. He went on to catch 51 passes and score five touchdowns that season, his last in the NFL. Hernandez was released by the Patriots last summer after he was charged in the June 17 killing of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd, who was dating a sister of Hernandezs fiancee. Lloyds body was found in an industrial area near Hernandezs home in North Attleborough. Hernandezs lawyers have said he is looking forward to proving his innocence. Suffolk District Attorney Daniel Conley would not comment when reporters asked if Lloyds killing was linked to the earlier killings of de Abreu and Furtado. He said Lloyd was not the friend who was with Hernandez the night the two men were killed. Hernandez will continue to be held without bail. He is due back in court June 24. Hell continue to be pitched that way, especially with two strikes, until he shows he can lay off. "I think its more mental than anything," said Pillar. "Mechanically, its trying to simplify a little bit, letting the ball travel a little deeper before I make a decision to swing. My second at-bat last night, I fouled off a lot of pitches, letting the ball get deep and thats a testament to staying with my approach, letting the ball get a little deeper, allowing myself to see the pitch before I swing. I think last year, part of it was trying to do too much, trying to get hits, not really seeing the ball out of the hand and this year I promised myself I wouldnt try to get hits, I would try to get good pitches to hit, and thats allowed me to lay off pitches down and away." "Im kind of getting used to (the NHL level) now." In addition to supplying points, he won 8-of-10 draws. MONTREAL -- Striker Jack McInerney cant imagine a better feeling than scoring against his former club. Freddie Freeman Jersey . McInerney will face his former Philadelphia teammates for just the second time when the last-place Montreal Impact visits the Union at PPL Park on Saturday. "This is definitely a big game," McInerney said Thursday. "Its exciting. "There are still a lot of games left in the league where we can pick up points. We have to go in and get the three points if we want to make ourselves known in the league." After a successful 95-game career with the Union, the 22-year-old was traded to the Impact in April, four games into the 14 Major League Soccer season. Atkinson attacked the net from the opposite side and initiated a hard stop at the top-inside of the crease with an opportunity to put the loose puck into the net for a sure goal. As Atkinson was positioning his stick to play the puck (act of shooting) Smith made physical contact with his stick and hip on Atkinson that moved the Blue Jackets player into the goal post and knocked the net off of the moorings. Some will say that the contact exerted by Smith was minimal and insufficient to knock the net off the moorings without some responsibility placed on Atkinson.
