More Time To Question Suspect
Karina Menzies, 32, was killed in one of the hit and runs outside a fire station in the Ely area of the city.
As it emerged that Ms Menzies' child is on a "dream holiday" in Florida and does not know of the tragedy, police revealed new details of the investigation.
Detective Superintendent Paul Hurley confirmed reports that the suspect left his vehicle and physically assaulted people between the crashes and also carried a weapon.
It is believed the weapon was a steering wheel lock.
The officer said: "We are aware the suspect assaulted people outside his vehicle," and he added police were "looking to identify and recover" the weapon.
He said no firearm was involved and there was no suggestion anyone had been stabbed.
Mr Hurley urged witnesses to get in touch and asked for information about a black Renault Clio seen driving on the wrong side of the road of Western Avenue, not far from Cowbridge Road West, where one crash happened.
The horrific events began when police received calls about an incident in Crossways Road in Ely at 3.30pm.

He said: "All of a sudden I heard a bang. I looked out and across the road one girl was on the floor and the other girl was screaming. I heard a van speed off but I did not see it."
Lynda Paterson, who lives in Cowbridge Road West, described the scene outside her house as chaotic.
"I was going to pick my children up from school and I could see there were police and someone was lying on the floor, on the pavement."
Other eyewitnesses said pedestrians were deliberately targeted by someone driving a white van.

New ferry would link Victoria and Vancouver downtowns
A foot passenger ferry service between Vancouver and Victoria could soon be operating out of the Inner Harbour's historic CPR Steamship Terminal, along with a deep ocean education centre affiliated with the University of Victoria. He hopes tenancy agreements will be worked out by mid November. Ferries Active Pass route, with one way cost of $80.
"It will be an experience more than a high speed journey," said Riverside Marine CEO Hume Kenneth Campbell. "So we also want to not just go through the area. We want to interpret what we're seeing."
Victoria Chamber of Commerce chairman Frank Bourree called both proposals "fantastic" in potential to add more cachet to the city. "Both of these new initiatives are real attractions for Victoria what tourists are looking for is an experience . . . so it's really good news."
Tourism Victoria CEO Paul Nursey agreed, saying he worked with the two groups in developing their proposals, which they hope will dovetail best high imitation Van Cleef & Arpels clover bracelet with tourism needs. "We need more things for people to see and do and more ways to get here," he said.
A previous passenger ferry between the two downtowns was deep sixed after 19 months in 1993, when the Royal van cleef bracelet imitation Sealink Express lost millions of dollars due to low ridership for four round trips per day and pervasive seasickness among passengers.
The Victoria Clipper has taken catamaran passengers between Victoria and Seattle since 1986, frequently twice daily, but founder Meredith Tall recalls she was warned at the outset that that there was no need for year round service between the two cities. Tall, along with Coho ferry president Ryan Burles, greeted news of increased ferry service as positive. "If they feel they can find that niche and make it go,then good for them," Burles said.
Kate Moran, president of Ocean Networks Canada said she is "thrilled" the organization was selected for further negotiations. Its base will continue to be at UVic but she's eager to see its work explained at an outreach site to "really enhance that experience of seeing the deep ocean for the first time up to three kilometres down." The Steamship satellite would be a good fit with Victoria's growing reputation as "an Van Cleef & Arpels fake gold bracelet ocean science city," Moran said. In 2012, the non profit assumed the head lease of the Steamship Terminal from the province and has invested $2.7 million in renovations. Its pays the province, which owns the building, about $400,000 annually but has fallen behind due to the vacancies.
"That's why it's important to stop the bleeding and find some suitable tenants that could sustain us financially," Robertson said.
Riverside Marine would occupy the 2,400 square foot fourth level for administration and part of the causeway level and the adjacent water lot. Ocean Network Canada would occupy the remainder of level one, which is 6,000 square feet.
Current tenants include Robert Bateman Centre, Steamship Grill and Bar, and Starbucks.
Museum chairman Clay Evans said he wishes the new prospective tenants well. "Although it isn't the outcome that we had hoped for in this public building, we do hope we can work together with both Riverside Marine and ONC on any joint initiatives as they develop," he said. "In fact, Riverside had already touched base with us in this regard prior to this announcement."

Portrait of the playgirl who won a king
It follows, then, that I should be doubly happy this early in the new year that The Weinstein Co. has given us not one, but two biopics about a pair of the most polarizing figures in 20th century England.
But I am more fascinated than happy with these fascinating and flawed profiles, one about England's first female prime minister and the other about the twice wed American playgirl for whom a British king abdicated his throne. Fascinated because on screen it's still rare to see marriage from the perspective of a female director.
Madonna's partner on the film's convoluted script is Alek Keshishian, director of Truth or Dare. Together, they confected this two tier account of Simpson (Andrea Riseborough) who won her royal trophy husband in the 1930s; and Wally Winthrop (Abbie Cornish), her fictional 1990s namesake, a trophy wife.
The parallels between Wallis and Wally are . . . not so parallel, although the script presents them as soulful Americans hitched to soulless Brit twits. And as women who long for children. Their kindred spirithood is established in an opening sequence where Wallis suffers a miscarriage after her first husband physically abuses her and Wally struggles with infertility problems that her emotionally abusive husband does not want to talk about.
When Wally visits Sotheby's for the 1998 auction of the belongings of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, first the objects speak fake cartier love bracelet sale to her. Then, the late duchess materializes to advise and to commiserate. The objects Windsor table linens, the Duchess' distinctive Cartier jewelry, her silken undergarments drive the story rather than the characters who are stuck in marriages and unstuck in time. This is a chronology challenged movie that boasts flashbacks within flashbacks and captions identifying where and what year its characters are without building any narrative momentum. The movie is full of incidents that don't quite cohere into a story kind of like a Power Point presentation without a throughline.
While the artfully presented film is approximately as cinematic as the layouts in a tony shelter magazine, what's worth watching is Riseborough's performance, compelling even when the film pooh poohs the generally accepted knowledge that the Duke and Duchess of Windsor were Nazi sympathizers. When Riseborough, who resembles a little brown wren, spreads those tiny wings, she's a bird of paradise in Cartier baubles.
Swanning down burnished wood corridors in Schiaparelli and Mainbocher, advising on flower arrangements and the height of candles ("light should be at eye level to be flattering!"), Riseborough's Wallis is a melancholy figure resigned to being a decorative object for the man who wouldn't be king.
Finally, this movie besotted with manicured gardens and fingernails, sparkling jewels and champagne, couturier gowns, chrome ribbed roadsters and other status symbols, hypocritically moralizes that such things mean little. Madonna, don't preach: If material things mean so little, why photograph them with such obvious cartier love bracelet white gold replica care? If the story of the commoner who becomes a duchess is a horror story, why present it like a glittering fairy tale?
She may romanticize high 1930s style, but in the end, Madonna does not romanticize the Windsor marriage. I heard my heart crack when Wallis, unmerry wife of Windsor, delivers the verdict on her royal spouse: "He used me to escape replica bangle cartier his prison only to incarcerate me in one of my own."

Foreign visitors drawn to isles
Kenji and Hiromasa Ozawa, a father and son vacationing on Oahu, spent Christmas morning hiking up Diamond Head.
Their next stop: the Royal Hawaiian Shooting Club an indoor shooting range nestled in an upscale shopping center just above Cartier and Hermes stores at Royal Hawaiian Center where they fired replica cartier bangle love off several dozen rounds between them. Japan 1958 Firearms and Swords Control Law prohibits its citizens from owning most firearms; some guns like shotguns for hunting, air guns, and guns for competition are allowed, but the Japa still must undergo a series of comprehensive tests, as well as a thorough background check.
So for some Japa tourists like the Ozawas, an ideal Hawaii getaway includes sun, surf and semiautomatics.
"We can fire guns in Japan.
"In most countries mass media does make guns desirable, and that the same in Japan," said Philip Alpers, an adjunct associate professor at the University of Sydney School of Public Health bangle cartier replica and a specialist in firearm injury prevention. Hawaii, he said, is "right at sort of the satellite hub of what exists of Japan gun culture."
Taka Maruyama, 52, of Tokyo was leaving the SWAT Gun Club here on a recent Tuesday afternoon with two of his sons and explained, "We just come here for swimming and golf and shooting." Gesturing at his 17 year old son, Tomo, who was proudly holding a paper target riddled with bullets near the bull Maru laughed and said, "Every time he visits somewhere, he shoots. He a professional shooter."
There are at least four private gun clubs within a half mile of one another in Waikiki, and a public shooting range in Hawaii Kai. The clubs advertise with posters (in both English and Japa in the ritzy malls, and they hire men to pass out fliers (in English and Japa along the busy sidewalks of Waikiki Beach.
Jeff Tarumi, range manager at the Royal Hawaiian Shooting Club, estimates that 90 percent of his customers are foreign, with the majority hailing from Japan. Here's how senators plan to vote on Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch
Monday afternoon during the judiciary hearing, Sen. Chris Coons of Delaware became the 41st senator to say he plans to filibuster, giving Democrats enough votes to sustain the debate. By Tuesday afternoon, 44 senators had said they would oppose cloture on Gorsuch's nomination.
Republicans are preparing to launch the rule change, which is also known as the "nuclear option," a controversial move that Democrats took more than three years ago for all judicial nominees other than Supreme Court justices.

Lesson for Hugh Grant: Spend more next time
July 17, 1995By MIKE ROYKO
In a recent scholarly lecture, Dr. Kookie, the noted expert on lots of stuff, presented a unique perspective on the unfortunate Hugh Grant affair.
"Try to imagine," Dr. Kookie said, "that this fellow Grant was at the movie studio and happened to wander over to a nearby set where they were shooting scenes for one of those bikini movies, in which nubile young things jiggle for the pleasure of weak minded viewers of cable TV.
"And let us say that one of those young things jiggles so skillfully that she catches the eye of Hugh Grant, whose brain replica Cartier love bracelet Platinum immediately throbs with erotic fantasies, which is not uncommon among young men of normal glandularity.
"So when the scene is finished, Grant, a debonair fellow, invites the young lovely to join him for a cup of frozen yogurt. He flatters her by saying she has the artistic potential to develop from an unknown bikini girl into a full fledged Hollywood bimbo or even a starlet.
"She, of course, is thrilled at such high praise from a famous matinee idol and confides that her dream is to move beyond bikini roles, since the constant pull of gravity eventually takes a cruel toll on a girl's bod and she has to think of the future.
"Then he sighs and says he would like to discuss her artistic potential at greater length and the possibility of his becoming her mentor and putting in a helpful word with his personal agent but alas, he has to home and pack for a few days of rest at a secluded luxury resort on the French Riviera.
"'Oh, my,' she says, she has never been to the French Riviera, but she is a student of foreign travel and has seen every single episode of 'Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous' and knows how beautiful and restful it must be.
"With a shy, boyish smile, he says he happens to have an extra airline ticket, and popular replica Cartier love bracelet would she like to join him for his few days of rest?
"She is no blushing innocent, having hopped tables at a local Hooters establishment and being runner up in the wet T shirt contest at Booby Beach, so she knows what he has in mind.
"She says she just would love to help him rest, but she has absolutely nothing to wear at a luxury resort. With a kindly wave of his platinum credit card, he says that will be no problem.
"So off they go to a few boutiques, where she comes away with new Louis Vuitton luggage, stuffed with beach wear, evening wear and beddy bye wear by Gucci, Versace, Escada, Chanel, Dolce Gabbana and sparkly baubles by Cartier.
"And soon they are on the Riviera and quickly spotted by the peeping eye of the media. And how are imitation cartier bracelet they described? As a coosome twosome by the gossip columnists. As beautiful people by Robin Leach. As dear friends and wonderful human beings by Roger Moore."

"They were not described as engaging in lewd behavior, which they surely were, unless you believe they put the 'do not disturb' sign on the hotel door because they were washing out a few socks and underwear.
"The press did not report that he gave her $5,000 worth of designer clothing, $10,000 worth of jewelry and picked up the $15,000 tab for the luxury resort. All in exchange for her satisfying his lust.
"Yes, a straight business deal. And he, being aware of the enormous long term price of marriage, especially when factoring depreciation, believes he has received full lust value for his money.
"And the media and other elite elements of society not only condone such an arrangement, but look upon it with admiration and envy.
"But compare that with what actually happened to Hugh Grant. The media gleefully published his sheepish police mug shot. It snickered and sneered and heaped ridicule upon the lad. It disdainfully described as a mere hooker the night shift worker to whom he gave 60 bucks in cash. Nobody noted that she was exercising her feminist right to use her body as she chose.
"Why such contempt and disdain? Because Hugh Grant did what many less fortunate members of the working class do. In paying for sex, he shopped for the best price he could get.fashion dupe cartier rose gold earring stainless steel You should have it Let's
