WICHITA, Kan. A small plane lost power after takeoff and crashed into a flight training building while trying to return to a Kansas airport Thursday, killing at least four people, injuring at least five others and igniting a fire that sent up towering plumes of black smoke that could be seen for miles around Wichita, officials and witnesses said.

Myanmar's new president has been sworn in, the first elected civilian leader in more than 50 years.
A draft bill obtained by the BBC suggests that the new government is to create a special position for Ms Suu Kyi. The proposed post would be "adviser to the state", with a broad mandate similar to that of prime minister.

In supporting roles, Florrie Bagel shines as Sister Mary Patrick (Kathy Najimy played the role on film), while Legg's crime lord fake cartier ring Curtis exhibits an effectively surly presence right out of Blaxploitation. Chester Gregory charmingly reprises his Broadway turn as policeman Eddie Souther, a man who has loved Deloris since high school and is now determined to protect her.
Kudos also to Ashley Moniz as convent Postulate Sister Mary Robert. Moniz lands the production's sole show stopping solo with a bravura rendition of "The Life I Never Led." Her cartier love necklace imitation success merely amplifies the show's major weakness: music that rarely matches the talents of those performing it. For every truly engaging song "Take Me to Heaven, Haven't Got a Prayer" Oscar winner Alan Menken gives us any number of pedestrian knock offs of 1970s Sound of Philadelphia soul.
Songs like "When I Find My Baby" and "Lady in the Long Black Dress" desperately try to emulate the silky music of a group like the O'Jays, yet seem less necklace cartier knock off accurate than expositional. They're simply there to advance the plot.
"Sister Act" takes about 15 minutes to find its groove and the finale is more predictable than powerful. It's the "in between" that will most delight audiences, a barrage of familiar plot devices swathed in engaging choreography, colorful costumes and manic pacing.
