Judge allows release of Chicago police shooting video
Questions about the Chatman video follow the Nov. 24 release of another video that made headlines. That video shows white officer Jason Van Dyke fatally shooting black teenager Laquan McDonald 16 times in 2014. The city fought its release for more than a year, making it public only after a state court ordered it to do so. The video and the delay in releasing it led to protests, calls for Mayor Rahm Emanuel to resign and a federal civil rights investigation of the Chicago Police Department.
An officer killed Chatman on Jan. 7, 2013, during a foot chase. Court documents say several surveillance cameras recorded police running after the 17 year old in a South Shore neighborhood van cleef bracelet alhambra copy during daylight hours and recorded one officer fatally shooting him.
His family had asked that the video be made public as it sued the city over the shooting, arguing it would counter the city's narrative that Chatman posed a danger to police.
The officer says he fired after seeing Chatman turn toward officers with a dark object in his hand. Investigators later found the object was an iPhone box.
A lawyer for Chatman's family says the video will show he never turned toward officers and posed no threat.
City attorneys, until Wednesday, fought to keep it under seal on grounds its release could taint any jury pool should the civil case go to trial. They said in a Wednesday court filing that the city was dropping its opposition in an effort to be more transparent while it waits for a recently created special task force to review policies regarding the release of videos showing disputed police shootings.
Steve Patton, Emanuel's top legal van cleef rose gold bracelet fake adviser said in a statement that "we are working to be as transparent as possible."
CBS Chicago reports that Chatman family attorney Brian Coffman has said the move by the city is a political move to get ahead of the game.
"If Mr. Emanuel really wants to stand by his words of transparency and change, here's his opportunity to do it," he replica van cleef bracelet said. "If that means releasing the videos, great. But given the timing of it, it makes it a little suspect."
The cameras that caught the incident were at a distance and the footage is of low quality, court filings say. But Chatman family lawyers have said it is clear enough to show the teenager didn't turn.
Andrew Hale, a lawyer for two officers named as defendants in the lawsuit, said in an email Wednesday that the video will show his clients acted properly. Minutes before the shooting, he said, Chatman refused officers' orders and jumped out of a car after grabbing the item that turned out to be the box.
"As he was fleeing, the suspect turned toward the officers, with the dark object in his right hand, causing one officer to open fire," Hale's email said. However, court filings allege that the agency cleared the officer only after an investigator who opposed that finding, Lorenzo Davis, was fired. Davis has filed a separate lawsuit about his dismissal. IPRA has declined to comment on Davis' case because the litigation is ongoing.

When the population of Nova Scotia was increased by many thousands of Loyalists who fled New England after the American Revolution, New Brunswick was organized (1784) into a separate colony. As trees were cut down for shipbuilding, the land was cleared for farming. By the middle of the 19th cent. settlement was extending into the interior, and St. John was a busy port and shipbuilding town. Original Disneyland concept art shows what park would have looked like
LOS ANGELES Tomorrowland was originally going to be called World of Tomorrow. Frontierland was Frontier Country. Lilliputian Land never became a reality at Disneyland. And no one could have foreseen a Wars land opening in 2019.
Walt Disney spent a marathon weekend in 1953 brainstorming ideas for the new family amusement park he Hermes enamel necklace fake envisioned called Disneyland. There would be a train station and an old fashioned Main Street square. The park would have a princess castle and a pirate ship, maybe even a rocket. Disney wanted to get investors on board, so he described the various elements he imagined to artist Herb Ryman, who translated them into a hand imitation Hermes necklace drawn map Disneyland first.
Collector Ron Clark knew the map was special when he Hermes white gold necklace knock off acquired it 40 years ago from a former Disney employee who been friends with Walt Disney. Clark says he felt a of presence as soon as he saw the 3 1/2 foot by 5 1/2 knock off Hermes necklace foot ink and pencil drawing on paper affixed to a tri fold poster board like a science fair display.
had this aura, he recalled. just kind of puts you in awe that this is the piece that came out of Walt Disney mind and this is what came about: this park, these parks worldwide, the passion people have for it today and the happiness of hundreds of millions who have graced these lands. started collecting Disney items in the 1960s. He saw a small silver spoon in a Disneyland souvenir shop and plunked down $10 for it. When he later saw that same spoon show up as a collectors item in a Disney fan magazine, he was hooked.
have an affection for the man and what he created. It just brought us and our family such joy, said Clark, who still holds an annual pass to Disneyland and makes it out to Southern California from Utah at least three times a year to visit the park.
20 of our grandbabies are Disney fied, he said.
Clark collection focuses on the dawn of Disney. The earliest piece is an Ingersoll watch from 1928 and the most spectacular is the map. But with his 70th birthday approaching, Clark wanted to see about finding a more permanent home for his prized piece of memorabilia.
was always my desire to somehow return it to Disney, he said. wanted it to go home. For 40 years, that has been my wish. spokesman John McClintock wouldn say if park officials will be among the bidders when the map goes up for auction June 25.
He was familiar with the piece, though, calling it very speculative drawing. was drawn to make people think this is going to be a great park, he said.
Walt Disney Parks and Resorts still produce concept art for new park features. The company released a full colour image last year of the proposed Wars land, complete with an X wing fighter flying overhead. The 14 acre Wars expansion represents the biggest ever at Disneyland, McClintock said, though the park has been evolving almost since it opened in 1955. The Enchanted Tiki Room opened in 1963. The Small World ride came in 1966, followed by Pirates of the Caribbean in 1967. The official Disneyland Hotel opened in 1988. A whole new park, Disney California Adventure, and accompanying Grand Californian Hotel were added in 2001.
None of those elements were part of Ryman 1953 sketch. It hard to compare concepts from that original map with what actually exists in the park today, McClintock said.
predates any work on Disneyland and it doesn really resemble Disneyland, so you can really use that as a template for how the park developed, he said, noting that the famous Sleeping Beauty Castle that sits in the centre of the park is shown much further back in the concept sketch.
Other elements though, including the train station and Main Street square, look the same on the map as they do at the park in Anaheim, California.
story behind the art is that it was all done in a weekend, McClintock said. amazing that they got as much right as they did. the auctioneer, whose Van Eaton Galleries are full of Disney animation cells, old park souvenirs and even the googly eyed sea monster from the now shuttered Submarine Voyage ride, the pre Disneyland map is ultimate. After spending the past four decades locked away in a vault, the map will be on view for the public at the gallery in the weeks leading up to the auction.
Million Dollar Home Raises Questions Of Transparency
When Steven Furtick started Elevation Church in early 2006, he had just 14 members. Fast forward 7 years, the average attendance is reported as 11,719 people, as the success of Elevation Church has exceeded all expectations. The popularity of the church, along with the associated merchandising and book deals, has allowed Furtick to build the mansion of his dreams in Weddington, North Carolina.
The church has been successful with its finances as well as its attendance, and NBC Charlotte reports that Furtick is spending a lot of that money on a 16,000 square foot house with 7.5 bathrooms that is worth almost $1.4 million, based on building permits and contract value. Throw in the land it sits on, at $325,000, and the total cost is over $1.7 million, which is almost as much as the total the church gave to local outreach in 2012, which they reported as $1,852,789.
The home doesn't have Furtick's name on the deed, and NBC Charlotte reported that Furtick was very unwilling to answer their inquiries about it until he responded in a sermon on September 29th:
"I've been feeling sorry for myself because they tell me there's this news reporter trying to do this story where he wants to make our church look bad," Furtick said in his sermon. "Now me and [my wife] Holly, this year, we're building a house. We've been looking for a piece of land to build a house for our family for a long time."
"It started to mess with me a little bit van cleef ring replica because I thought this ain't right. I didn't even build that house with money from the church. I built it with money from my books and I gave money to the church from the books and you start getting real defensive and being like this ain't right. This ain't right," Furtick said.
The deed is under the name of the Jumper Drive Revocable Trust 1, and the trustee is James "Chunks" Corbett, who is the Chief Financial Officer of Elevation Church.
Corbett responded to the article by saying that Furtick is paying for the five bedroom house with income from his best selling books, "Greater" and "Sun Stand Still." He told the Charlotte how much is the fake Alhambra ring Observer that "it's not tied to the church in any way."
However, others dispute that, including Chris Rosebrough, who runs a protest podcast against "preacher profiteers" called Pirate Christian Radio. He commented, "There's no distinction between Elevation Church and Steven's books. The two get mashed together in a way that creates a real conflict because the job of the pastor is not to preach his book." The books and the church are intertwined when it comes to branding and financing, as Elevation paid for full page ads promoting the book, as well as for air time for sermons featuring the book, according to NBC Charlotte.
Corbett explained that Furtick's name was not on the deed because "That's for security and privacy of the family," though Ole Anthony of the Trinity Foundation commented that "The pastor should be the servant of his people. He should be the one that is most transparent. It saddens me to see what the church is becoming."
Elevation Church is now a mega church which imitation Van Cleef&arpels clover ring draws in worshippers at an astonishing rate, boasting up to 14,000 congregants on some weekends. They reported their average weekly attendance for 2012 at 11,719 people, collectively contributing an average weekly operating offering of $391,299.

"We make suits fitted well for Indian body and our price points are friendly. As far as suiting lines are concerned, we do face competition (from foreign brands). In fact, this competition has given us a push to do more innovative designs," said Dhir.
According to Jacob John, brand head of Louis Philippe, the presence of international brands has brought about positive and negative changes in the minds of consumers as well as retailers.
