"Can BOTOX Make Me Look Younger?"
We receive questions from potential patients who visit our Lenexa location for aesthetic treatments. We asked Dr. Margolin what advice he would give to patients with unrealistic expectations regarding aesthetic treatments. Dr. Margolin told us that he is an M.D. and not a magician. I realize that people naturally want to look their best. Everybody wants to feel and look their best. BOTOX is a temporary treatment for wrinkles and lines. However, these treatments won't give them the look they had in college or their favorite supermodel.
What are the Aesthetic Injectables Treatments?
Dr. Margolin describes aging skin as a piece of paper. The paper will have permanent wrinkles if it is folded in different ways over decades. The same thing happens to our skin! BOTOX, JUVEDERM, and other injectable treatments can temporarily reduce the signs and symptoms of aging. They relax facial muscles and fill in certain areas.
What is BOTOX and How Does It Work?
The treatment reduces the appearance wrinkles by relaxing facial muscle, but it's not as dramatic and drastic as plastic surgery. BOTOX is a treatment that can be used to reduce the appearance of forehead lines or eyebrow creases. This treatment smoothens wrinkles and prevents them forming. BOTOX can't treat wrinkles and lines caused due to loss of facial fullness. JUVEDERM and dermal fillers are used to remedy these problems.
What is JUVEDERM exactly?

BOTOX

While both treatments are effective, Juvederm is faster and lasts for longer. BOTOX is effective for a few days but fades after a few weeks. Until news of her alleged affair with a married man surfaced earlier this month, Becky – as she is known – was one of the most popular people on Japanese television, with regular appearances in 10 commercials and on at least half a dozen variety shows.
Viewers liked her unthreatening, breezy manner and carefully crafted image as the girl next door. As the daughter of a Japanese woman and British man – her haafu (half) status brought a touch of exotica to their evening viewing.
Yet all it took was a leaked text message – seized upon by the tabloid media – to bring to a halt a 15-year career whose upward trajectory seemed guaranteed.
Her predicament has also ignited a debate over the vice-like grip Japan’s powerful talent agencies have on female singers, actors and TV celebrities.
While the 31-year-old ponders the sudden withdrawal of TV appearances, commercial endorsements and her own radio programme, she may be asking herself why she has been singled out for media vitriol while her alleged lover, a pop singer, carries on, his career apparently unaffected.
Her crime, it appears, was to break the steadfast rule that requires young female celebrities in Japan not only to entertain, but to remain morally unimpeachable.
Within weeks of a magazine breaking news of her alleged affair with Enon Kawatani, a 27-year-old singer in the band Gesu no Kiwami Otome, her employers ripped up contracts, reportedly at the behest of her own management agency, Sun Music.
By last week, she had disappeared from TV screens, and lost commercial contracts and her own radio show.
While Sun Music claimed she was suffering from “illness and depression”, Becky is unlikely to return once she recovers.
Philip Brasor, a commentator on Japanese media and culture, says like many of the celebrities who populate Japanese variety shows, “her whole reason for being as a TV talent is her image as a cheerful, agreeable, proper young woman, and once that image is spoiled she has no value to the people who use her”.
Then just 24 years old, starstruck and excited, she quickly signed a deal with the agency he introduced her to, believing that she would soon star in promotion videos.
In fact, it was not a modeling agency, and on her first day Kozai discovered the job required her to have sex on camera.
I couldn’t take off my clothes. All I could do was cry,” she told AFP, adding that she saw no way out of her dire situation.
“There were about 20 people around me, waiting. No woman could say ‘no’ when they’re surrounded like that,” she said.
Kozai, now 30, is among a growing number women who are stepping out of the shadows to say they were forced to work in Japan’s multi-billion-dollar porn industry.
Adult films are widely available in Japan, which has a relatively liberal attitude toward pornography.
But the industry’s dark side is rarely discussed, nor are the rights of those who work in it.Accusations that women were made to perform in sometimes brutal sex scenes, on film against their will, prompted the industry to issue an unprecedented apology and promise change.
The surprise mea culpa followed the June arrest of three Tokyo talent agents accused of forcing a woman to appear in more than 100 pornographic videos.
Like Kozai, the unnamed woman also thought she would be modeling.
Critics say porn recruiters trick young women — including minors — with promises of showbusiness stardom.
In other cases, girls have been lured by a lavish lifestyle before they are put to work in sex films to pay off the “debt”.Another woman AFP interviewed, who declined to be named, said she was tricked into porn by an agent who promised to help her become a singer.
She signed a contract that she says did not make clear the nature of her real work.
“The agency spent months trying to convince me. I had no choice” after signing the contract, the 26-year-old told AFP.
She resisted at first. But like Kozai and others, she succumbed to the pressure.
“At first, I said I couldn’t do it,” she added. “But when I did, it really hurt. The production team wouldn’t stop though.”
The annual survey of Japan’s most popular actors was just released by the magazine Bunshun. Like People Magazine’s similar annual report for the U.S, let’s see who made the cut.
Scope of Survey
The survey was conducted for 24 days, from June 4 – 27. A total of 7,580 votes were received. 63% of the respondents were women, and 37% were men. They ranged in age from 10 to 92 years old.

The most important factors for determining success or failure at the upper echelon of Japanese female actors differ somewhat from how male actors achieve professional recognition.
Modeling Pedigree as a Base
Just about every entrant in the Top 15 has modeled at one point in their career. Some have, however, more traditional experience in live theater.
