OCEAN COUNTY UTILITIES AUTHORITY NWPCF INFLUENT SCREW PUMP IMPROVEMENTS
The Ocean County Utilities Authority ("Authority") recently completed a project to replace influent screw pumps at its Northern Water Pollution Control Facility ("NWPCF"). The project is being financed with approximately $3.1 million in loans from the NJ Water Bank, a program jointly administered by the NJ-DEP and the NJ I-Bank offering low-cost financing of water quality infrastructure projects. Total savings for this project is estimated to be $570,424 over the 30-year term of the loan or 18% of the total project cost. In addition, this project created an estimated 37 direct construction jobs. To get more news about screw pump, you can visit hw-screwpump.com official website.
The NWPCF in Brick Township, serves the northern service area of the Authority with eight pump and lift stations that convey wastewater to the NWPCF. This project replaced all four Archimedes spiral flight screw pumps that lift the influent wastewater to an elevation where it can flow by gravity through the treatment plant. Three of the screw pumps were installed in 2003, one was installed in 1994, and one failed, was rebuilt, and placed back in service.
The new screw pumps expand the Authority's capacity to convey peak hourly flow with three influent pumps and a fourth for backup. The improved reliability reduced the potential for wastewater discharge.
Bill Curtis, Mayor of Bay Head Borough, one of the Authority's major customers, applauded the project, declaring "Our Utility Authority is dedicated to managing our wastewater and reducing risks to public health. Improving reliability benefits all the communities they serve. Plus, the Archimedes screw pump is a fascinating piece of infrastructure as is the gravity fed piping. This project is a prime example of the OCUA implementing best practices at the lowest prices."

THE FLEXIBILITY OF TWIN SCREW TECHNOLOGY
Although classified as a positive displacement pump, Alfa Laval’s Twin Screw can accomplish so much more. Unlike conventional positive displacement pumps which are primarily used for thick, viscous products, the new Twin Screw by Alfa Laval also has the ability to propel thin material like a centrifugal pump.
Gentle and virtually pulse-free, the Twin Screw is able to convey product through at various speeds for different viscosity liquids. This allows the pump to be utilized in a flexible manner within your production, adding significant value to producers with diverse ingredients, such as:
The Alfa Laval Twin Screw Pump is finely crafted with a hygienic, stainless-steel frame, profiled elastomers, and mechanical seals. Utilizing a robust gearbox design, the pump is calibrated to operate quietly, efficiently, and at a reduced temperature to enhance safety.
There are also very few wear items on the pump. Alfa Laval’s Twin Screw has the ability to run for a very long time and requires very little maintenance.
When maintenance is needed, there are plenty of reasons to appreciate this pump. Alfa Laval’s diligent design provides true front-loading access to the pump’s seal and timing gears for easy servicing.

Treatment Of Common Problems In Screw Pump
1.The drive shaft or motor bearing is overheated: It can be caused by a lack of lubricating oil or bearing rupture. Treatment method: Fill the lubricating oil or replace the bearing. To get more news about SEEPEX Pump Part, you can visit hw-screwpump.com official website.
2. The screw pump body vibrates violently or produces noise: Cause: the water pump is not installed firmly or the water pump is too high; the motor ball bearing is damaged; the main shaft of the water pump is bent or is different from the main shaft of the motor, and is not parallel. Treatment method: install the water pump or lower the installation height of the water pump; replace the motor ball bearing; correct the bent water pump main shaft or adjust the relative position of the water pump and the motor.
3. The screw pump does not discharge water: Cause: the pump body and the water suction pipe are not filled with water diversion; the dynamic water level is lower than that of the water pump water filter pipe; the water suction pipe is broken, and the like. The sealing surface between the screw and the housing is a space surface. There is a non-sealing region, such as ab or de, on this surface, and a number of triangular notches abc, def are formed in the groove portion of the screw, with low vibration and low noise. The notches of the triangle form a channel of the liquid, and the driving screw groove A is communicated with the grooves B and C on the driven screw rod. While the grooves b, c are in turn wound on the back side along their spiral and are in communication with the grooves d, e on the back side, respectively. And has high efficiency. The D, F, E will also be in communication due to the fact that in the sealing surface which is engaged with the groove D, E and the groove F (which is a spiral on the other side), there is also a three-angle notch a '' '' '' '' '', which is similar to the front face. In this way, the groove ABCDA forms a sealed space in the form of a single head (for example, a single-head thread is used, the groove will cut the screw in the axial direction, and the suction port is passed through to form a seal).
North Ridge PCX Series Triple Screw pump
The PCX series of triple screw pump is Atex certified and API 676 compliant for use in the oil and gas industry. It can be utilised for a wide range of applications involving fuel oils and lubricating oils not containing solids, ranging in viscosity from 10 to 1500cp. Various suction and discharge port configurations are available depending on site requirements. It can be mounted horizontally (PCX version) or vertically (PCXV version) depending on customer requirements.
Our screw pumps have numerous benefits over other positive displacement pumps such as gear pumps. They produce low noise levels, are compact as no gearbox is required, produce low pulsations, are excellent at self-priming and can handle fluids containing trapped air.
The ball bearing in this self-priming screw pump is lubricated by the pumped fluid and it can be fitted with a built-in relief valve for protecting the system from overpressure.
This range is supplied with an API rated mechanical seal as standard.
The PCX series of triple screw pump is available in various grades of carbon steel and stainless steel, due to this fact, it can be used for so many applications within the marine and industrial markets. Some of the fuels and oils this range can handle include diesel (DO), Marine diesel oil (MDO), Low sulphur marine gas oil (LSMGO), Heavy fuel oil (HFO), lube oil and many more. Common applications include fuel cargo, fuel transfer, lube oil transfer, lubricating oil circulation, burner/boiler feed, fuel booster, fuel oil separator and many more involving compatible fuels and oils.
