Off-White and Nike are going hard in 2018.The Off-White x Nike Air Max 97 White  will be the next iteration of Virgil Abloh-designed footwear to release later this fall. If the veritable mountain of footwear that has dropped this year has not already convinced you of this, maybe two more Nike Air Max 97 colorways can. A tonal gray Hyperfuse-like translucent upper is complemented by a multi-color Swoosh on the lateral side of the sneaker.This year has already seen the release of the following Nike models in two new colorways: Air VaporMax, Air Presto, Mercurial Zoom Fly, and the Air Jordan I. The shoe is then completed by a simple grey midsole/Air Max unit, translucent outsole, and an extra pair of teal laces if the wearer desires extra contrast.

It has been several months since we last got a good look at an upcoming Off-White x Nike footwear release.Details like gradient Swooshes, Off-White’s signature deconstructed tongue label, text on the inner lateral sides, branded insoles, laces and “AIR” marking on the heel tops it all off. This week, official product images for a long-awaited Air Max 97 colorway have surfaced online, giving us a full look at what to expect from the “Menta” colorway. The last time we saw this unique OFF-WHITE x Nike Air Presto Black Cream ,was in June during Virgil Abloh’s Off-White fashion show in Paris.The midfoot Swoosh fades from teal to blue to pink, while Abloh’s signature Helvetica font is present via bold black medial side text and “AIR”/”SHOELACES” hits.The runway was populated with all kinds of footwear, though sneakerheads were paying special attention to the two long-rumored Nike Air Max 97 colorways that finally made their official debut.The asymmetrical tongue patch from the original 2017 release returns, as does the infamous zip tie that adorns all of the designer’s Nike footwear.

Of course, we can expect the usual Off-White detailing too: orange tags, off-centre tongue tabs and red cable ties ensure everyone knows what shoes you are wearing. First leaked months ago, the Off-White x Nike Air Max 97 will launch in a two pack of grey and black colorways this November. While the all-black pair is not unlike the Nike Epic React Flyknit Black White or Presto from this year, the grey pair is something entirely new for Virgil and Nike. The upper sits on a gray midsole and full-length Max Air sole unit. A clear outsole completes the look.Currently referred to as the “Menta” colorway, the deconstructed AM97 featured a prominently grey upper made from the same translucent materials as past releases.With no official word from either Nike or Abloh’s team, we can only speculate as to when the sneakers will officially be released, however, various publications and leak accounts believe it will be out on November 10. However, this pair stands out with the addition of a large rainbow-colored Swoosh on the lateral sides.
