I really do believe its a tremendous organization. I think the Spanos family has done a great job there.On Nov. 8, San Diego voters overwhelmingly defeated the Chargers ballot measure asking for $1.15 billion in hotel occupancy taxes to help pay for a $1.8 billion downtown stadium and convention center annex to replace aging Qualcomm Stadium in Mission Valley.The next day, team chairman Dean Spanos said he wouldnt make any announcements about the teams future until after the season.Since then, there have been numerous reports, based on anonymous sources, that the Chargers feel they have no option but to move to Los Angeles, where they would join the Rams in a stadium in Inglewood scheduled to open in 2019.The Chargers must decide by Jan. 15 if theyll exercise their option to move to L.A. or give it one more try in San Diego.The Chargers and their fans went through this last year, when Spanos partnered with the rival Oakland Raiders on a plan to build a stadium in the LA suburb of Carson. When the Chargers hosted the Miami Dolphins on Dec. 20, many fans felt it was the teams final game in San Diego, its home since 1961.But a month later, NFL owners overwhelmingly rejected the Chargers-Raiders plan in favor of the Rams Inglewood plan. However, owners gave Spanos the option to relocate. If Spanos doesnt take that option, it will then go to the Raiders, unless they commit to Las Vegas.Quarterback Philip Rivers, a father of eight, would certainly be affected by the Chargers moving.Still, he says the increasing talk about moving isnt a distraction.No. I dont think anybodys thinking about that in the fourth quarter. In the end that was barely enough.Scott kept his composure with the flat stick all weekend,with even that three-putt at the 16th not being that treacherous as it was from so far away.Garcia kept throwing everything at him but that unfortunate chip shot at 16 really derailed him and any chance he had of victory, while Scotts tee shot on 17 was a touch of class. The way theyre both starting to come around with their putting, I wouldnt be surprised to see one of them taking home a major Championship this year.Sergios near-miss Garcias winless run on the PGA Tour continues Its interesting to hear that Sergio didnt feel like his swing was quite as strong as we thought it was. Im not too sure what hes sensing or feeling in his swing that makes him feel like its off a little bit, although it may be hes getting a little too steep with some of the clubs.I was looking at how he was performing over the first six or seven holes and he just wasnt quite firing. He kept leaving himself four or five footers on every other hole to save par, but saying that he holed very nicely. He also made some good saves at other holes, but we did see a little hiccup from him at the 11th where he just caught a bad patch of Bermuda grass.You sensed that he might start digging it in closer and holing a few more, but unfortunately that never happened for him.
